I haven't built a new diesel MOC in a little bit, so I decided to take a crack at a new challenge. This time, I decided to try and do a GE U36B. These were part of General Electric's 'Universal' Series, with 3600 HP and a B-B wheel arrangement, hence the name. 125 were produced between 1969 and 1974, with most of them going to Auto-Train and Seaboard Coast Line (Later CSX). As far as I can tell, most of these units were scrapped with only a few remaining examples today. And then here is my rendition of it. The livery is of my fictional railway company. I'm pretty proud of the building techniques that I used to get the front of the nose to offset like that, but it still needs a bit of work to be closer to the prototype, I think. I also tried using the regular steering wheel piece for the brake on the side of the nose, but I found it stuck out too far. Instead, I went with an old film reel piece, and I think it gets the idea across. Thankfully it came in white. Squeezing the PU hub into this locomotive was tough while keeping the entire back end as close to 4w as possible. I ended up using a technique I used previously to mount the hub inside the fuel tank. I then used sideways flags to try and hide the connections for the motors. I think it's decently well hidden, but I couldn't come up with another better solution. Also, since the Hub is so far down in the locomotive, a small section of roof lifts off and there is a technic axle you can push that hits the button on the Hub. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. There's a few things I want to revisit and redo at some point, but for now, I'm calling it done. Hey guys, been meaning to post this for quite some time. Here is my version (heavily based on swoofty's excellent rendition). 6 wide, unpowered riding on the famous "talltim slider trucks." After the last boxcab, Commander Wolf and I figured we had to go smaller. And slower. So we decided that both of us should build a motorized model of a GE 23-ton boxcab. We agreed to build them models independently, then meet up and compare approaches. We started with the same scaling image: Since there was some variation among the prototypes, choice of details was a matter of taste. I took most of my references from here. Here's my finished model: The original locomotive is really tiny, so I tried to keep the model about 7 studs wide. There's a lot of SNOT in this model: The main chassis is upside-down, the deckplate and frames are held against that using Technic pins, and the body attaches to some jumpers on the deckplate: The battery box is mounted sideways in the body and the power switch is reached by jabbing an antenna through the window. The roof is actually only held on by gravity: Originally I wasn't sure if I was going to put the caution-stripe tiles on the frames, but codefox421 vouched for them. Hi everyone, I've not been on the forum for a couple of months due to other commitments but I thought I'd show you what I've been building throughout the summer. The video below covers the full interior I've added to the modular Grand Emporium set. I have turned it into a hat shop with different floors for different styles of hat. On the top floor is a small cafe and toilet facilities. Hope you like the video. I'd love to hear your comments. Mike

Hi all, in late April I decided to start making the billboard on GE a seasonal themed piece instead of just the standard minifig head and present. I'm trying to keep all of the designs in the spirit of the original in that they must be made on a 6 x 12 plate and 3D is acceptable (within reason). So far I've made billboards for two consecutive weeks: May the Fourth Mothers Day Feel free to jump on the bandwagon and make your own billboards, I haven't noticed any other mods out there which I find a bit strange.
