    New Monorail

I have been developing the new Monorail system suggested by Masao Hidaka on LEGO Cuusoo Folder when moderated My layout has straights, curves and slopes well proven. The sizes are 1.5x the original - 48M curve radius and 6-wide (or wider) trains. I also tried a figure-eight with the crossing. So far I have a 5-car train with 2 motors, LiPo battery and IR Receiver. Top speed is a bit more than the original but it is also variable with the train remote. I am working on a flat crossing, which TLG patented for the original monorail but never released. Shown here is the rail-flattening version but I also have a turning rail version. I am also working on the motor switch function using a PF pole reverser on the train. I have yet to do points but Hidaka has started on these, as well as a crossover. All tracks are made from sustainable basic parts. TLG can't take away our monorail again - as long as there are basic parts there will be monorail! There is also more variation possible. I have an 80M/10-brick slope and two 48M/5-brick slopes. Both use the same angle modules at the ends, calculated not to strain parts and each joint fixed with two clip/bar hinges for robustness. I got into 0.1M offsets to make the angles! The black and yellow colour scheme fits with Blacktron quite well but you can vary the colours to suit your chosen theme. TLG will never make the original monorail again, no matter how much we might wish for it, because it is not commercially viable. I believe this system presents a sustainable future for LEGO Monorail. That's why I decided to help develop it. Please try it yourself and support it on LEGO Cuusoo Mark

    MOC: Riverside Apartments

Hi everyone! My latest creation is a much more modern concept than what I have previously built. Its inspired by 1950/60's concepts of what architecture might look like in the future. I had many different ideas of what I wanted to do but the scale was just too big so I've settled with something a little more concise but with varying levels of height and depth. I wanted to have to have lots of outside space hence using the balconies and a stepped design for the building. There is a Cafe/Restaurant on the ground floor, a parking garage underground and several apartments on the upper floors. The interiors are minimalist as I would imagine the future would be. Other features are a greenhouse on the roof for growing food, a high wall to keep out rising river levels and a road where wheels are no longer needed! The hovering bubblecar was a great excuse to use the trans-clear dome I've had for ages. There are so many more ideas I had for what I envisage for the future but couldn't fit them all in so perhaps it'll have to wait until another MOC! Anyway on with the pictures, apologies for the quality, I found the white very difficult to work with this time upon editing! The remaining few can be found on the my flickr stream here https://www.flickr.c...th/16176627059/ Any comments or criticisms welcome!

    Future Simpsons Set Ideas

I don't think there is a topic for this, and I know there has been a lot of talk about future sets. Anyway I would love to see Moe's Tavern as it's my favourite location from the TV series (I know it probably won't happen because of the relation to alcohol). But what do you guys want to see from the future of the Simpsons theme?

    Tank sd.kfz.234 for ADU

ADU version of German wwII tank sd.kfz.234 Pucelabricks Heavy Industries is pleased to introduce the new PB-43 light tank Puma. It is a lightweight vehicle designed to move quickly form both front and reverse and support infantry fighting no heavy tanks on the enemy side. It has a crew of 4 and its main armament 75 mm cannon. The high mobility provided by its 8-wheel drive also makes it very convenient to get around on the ruins of an urban combat there to support where needed There are some pictures of the day of the official presentation of the first units to the Governor Eslava, Commissioner and Captain Lothbrock Freyja: A typical training squadron assigned to each vehicle for urban patrols All vehicles and historys of Lothbrock commisar in:

    [MOC] Platform 7

Chicago, 2039 In other news tonight, a thief had robbed a Grocery Store at knife point in Sector 12 made a run for it. He was engaged by Police in Sector 11 and was chased all the way to Platform 7 in the downtown Monorail Station. The thief then jumped for a bridge above the rail, on to a Train that was going under the Bridge. The man is bearded with brown hair and wore a green shirt with brown pants and is believed to be in his mid 30s. If you have any information please contact the authorities. With this build i have taken some inspiration from near-future themed Mocs and made a nice near-future themed Monorail Station!
  10. Hello all! Here are a few pictures of my upgrade to The DeLorean Time Machine set. If you have an upgrade to share, put a picture below so we can all see it!
  11. So we all know about TLG's design for it . So I tweaked the design and added some non-Lego parts to it, such as the wire on the back. I also changed it so you could fit 2 minifigures in it (a BIG problem on TLG's part) and painted the BTTF3 wheels. You can see the photos starting here : http://www.flickr.co...tream/lightbox/. Sorry I couldn't just put them up on here, but I ran into some problems, maybe I can't yet because I'm only a Vassal .

    [MOC] LEGO 'Future' City: Copter

Hey all! This is a bit of a redesign from an earlier copter from last year... I always thought that it would be cool to have a LEGO City theme of the future. Nothing too far into the future... maybe just a "Near-Future" theme. This Copter here comes equipped with NOTAR Thanks for taking a look! And, as always, critques and suggestions are welcome. rongYIREN

Bold predictions on the future of Cuusoo...

BOLD PREDICTIONS ON THE FUTURE OF CUUSOO... WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THEY FINALLY "GO LIVE"?! As you may know... Cuusoo began the first phase of testing (the Alpha Phase) in late 2008, and that lasted for about three years. It was limited to Japan, with a small number of people, and the number of votes needed to pass was much smaller. All the projects that are older than late 2011 are legacies from the Alpha Phase. The current phase (the Beta Phase) began in late 2011 or so, and will probably go 3 years or so until 2015. Naturally, the goal of the Beta Phase is to test it with the most solid fan-base, get feedback, work out all of the kinks, and to finalize the rules, before they go live and start advertising the site. Wow, so what will happen when Cuusoo finally "goes live"?! 1) First, if GlenBricker's stats are right, then by that time, 15 more projects will have passed 10,000, and then the top projects will be ones that have just about 2500 votes as of right now. 2) Next, once it goes live, they will likely start to advertise it on their main site, bringing many many more visitors, viewers, and voters... At that point, it seems likely that the strategy for winning will start to shift away from relentlessly spamming social networking sites, and more towards attracting votes from casual fans and casual visitors. 3) Most importantly, if there are so many more people visiting and voting, and if all of the good-quality well-designed projects that are posted now will have 1000 or more votes to grow on, doesn't it seem likely to think that ***ALL*** of the good-quality well-designed projects that are posted there now should hit 10,000 surprisingly quickly after that, with all of the new visitors and voters around? So far, there have been about 3 million visitors on Cuusoo... When they go live, that number should jump up to the tens of millions surprisingly quickly... SImply put, if there are 5x as many people on the site after it goes live, then a "five-year slog" suddenly becomes a "one-year victory lap"...! If there are 10x as many people on the site, or more, then things will start to blast forward at warp speed! In fact, I am starting to think that when that day comes, then hundreds of the best-quality projects will rocket to the 10,000 mark within the space of a few months, and LEGO will love it, because it will make a lot of fans happy after years of struggle, and it will give them tons more options when it comes to deciding which set they want to make. Most likely they will also adjust by making more sets per quarter. And so what do you think? What will happen when they finally "go live"?!
  14. So that's my entry. As you can see, I like to think that Fabuland is what Chima used to be like before all the animals got addicted to chi and started fighting each other. I hope you enjoyed this little demonstration of how the war might have started. Also, yay for my first multi-pane comic!

MOC - Orca Rescue Plane & Carrier

While some people build their brick cities with more and more cars and planes, I always want mine to be more than that. It should evolve with new technology. I bought the set 7686 for some parts, but what was left was for something more intriguing. I always have the idea to make a more futuristic plane. C'mon, with Tony Stark in my city, I guess the city can benefit from his technology! Haha, so I recreated the "chopper", and embrace the future with a new design! I did some sketches first, all based on the plane Orca in C&C computer game. So the team reassembled! The orange rescue and repair team now includes the standard flatbed truck 60017, and on the right it is my another MOC Wheel-lift Wrecker, and this time we are to see the middle truck, the Orca Carrier and its plane! I imagine that this technology is just new, and in later years when the world war breaks out again in the C&C era (like 2050-21XX I guess), the Orca is transformed to an attack fighter. Anyway, that means this little plane is a precedent to the Orca fighter! The truck, while carrying the plane and transporting it, also provides tools and supply for maintaining the plane. Hey man, time for a little flight test! Two full throttle engines make this plane fly better than a chopper, probably! Overview of the plane... The tail...you can also see the engines now move to horizontal position, which is a flying mode. There is a landing gear at the tail that can be folded up. The two floodlights are perfect for search and rescue work! The truck also has an outdoor-use radar and computer system, that helps the pilot to locate himself on the plane during rescue missions. Did you see the little + hole in the middle of the plane? That is where the "tool clips" are installed for different missions. I will show you more later here how that works!
  16. This topic is for people to discuss what people would like to see in the avengers 2 sets (I mean why wouldn't they?) What figures will finally be made into the official category? Will we see LEGO Wasp, Ant-Man, Black Panther or Ms Marvel? Obviously we can't know for certain but we can always guess!! Also this is also a place for people to display some of the avengers mocs they have made of scenes and figures both from comic, the first movie or even made up scenarios!
  17. It's The End Of The World, Not The End Of The Universe by .Bricko, on Flickr On planet Earth, one survivalist colony waits to be evacuated. When the end finally came on Earth we where ready. Planet 77 had been found, reconed, manned, and finally lived on. Over the years we had been preparing for the end. We hope and pray the USS Dauntless with arrive in time to save Colony ZX-31. They are desperately trying to ration the water to make it last. It should, because of the fact its traveling at 10 warp... My last minute, (only 4 hours left folks), entry to Simon's micro SciFi contest. I had wanted to enter it earlier but my first try was horrendous. I built this like ten days ago, but it wasn't until I found the right angle for all the buildings and got some help from 4estFeller, Gabe, and Sam that I was able to get it all done. I noted a couple of things incase you are confused at the piece usage. Enjoy and God Bless! -The giant mushroom is actually a watchtower. -The chain is big strands of barb wire. -The lid over the lake is an Evaporation cover.

    New Monorail

Please see this topic This is a new sustainable monorail system using basic parts for infinite tracks and Power Functions for power and control. I already have most of the parts to emulate the tracks of the Airport Shuttle - only the start/stop rail function needs more development. Power Functions means the train handset can control it anyway. Mark
