    [MOC] Floating Dystopia

In search of land, promised or not Floating Dystopia is a floating barge doomed to wander the oceans of Hyperuranium in search of the promised land. It all started on February 22, 2222 when a tremendous nuclear war wiped out human civilization in less than a week. The earth thrown off its axis, its crust rocked by massive movements, and the five continents were torn completely apart and sunk deep below the sea. Only a small portion of sub-Saharan Africa was saved and the few remaining human beings were forced to leave their lands, devastated and burned, to seek a safe haven where they can live in peace and prosperity. But this land is far away and in the meantime they are forced to live a dystopian life made of deprivation and scarcity. The characters are: Kebra (advisor and childhood friend of Prince Nagast), Nagast (the prince of the sub-Saharan tribe of the Rastarians) and Hailé (the military leader of the Rastarian tribe and the bodyguard of Prince Nagast). Will they find their promised land? Enjoy!

  3. Dear all Simply wanted to get some feedback on the model below. Anyone else got some sea-worthy vessels, or is everyone tabletop lego-builders? In general one can say that I've tried to stay true to the design and aesthetics of the Black Seas Barracuda (1988). Trimmed to hard on the aft when not making way, but none the less calibration of hull is straight forward. This was the first actual sail test. I've been considering building in an engine for remote control, but not as of now. Glad if anyone else has some floating models to present, or other ideas. Have a nice spring- Yannis

  5. Hi, I made this mini MOC using invisible thread for magic (almost invisible, thinner than human hair) and magnetic levitation platform, hope you like it. Same technique:
  6. "I should have bought more bread... and cheese!" This is an entry for Week III of the Style it Up Contest by InnovaLug. The proposition was to build something that could stand on up to 4 studs, unattached, as if floating. I'm enjoying to build non-castle themes lately, so here you go. I'm trying to expand my building horizons in different perspectives and scales. Also, make sure to check my other entries for this contest: Week I: Stag in the Shadows Week II: Self Portrait Week IV: Yet to come Hope you like it. Let me know what you think - I'd love to hear some critique. (and, if you'd like to build and display any of my MOCs, let me know and I can work on instructions too)

    Isles of Aura: 'Shrooms!

I realized recently that it has been far too long since I’ve done a build for the Isles of Aura. I also have been wanting to get to the tree tutorial that I promised for the trees in my Allanar Forest build. So I decided to hit two birds with one stone, and make an IoA build with the tree on it. Keep your eyes out for the tutorial which will be coming later this week! Dear Journal, I took advantage of the pleasant weather today to explore among some smaller islands not far from home. While I have been to all of them before, you never know what sorts of new plants or animals one might find. My trip was rewarded with the discovery of some nicely ripened mushrooms – dinner will have an extra treat tonight! ~Little John More pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, and as always, C&C is very welcome

    Solid Hull that floats?

Hi everyone, I don't post much on here but I wanted to get some feedback on something that has been 'floating' in the back of my mind since I was a child. I'm a huge fan of the Lego pirate ships and all lego boats for that matter. Particularly the series of boats that float with the use of one solid plastic hull piece. In the beginning these hulls were rather small and have grown larger over the year; the "City Lines" cargo ship being the largest solid plastic hull piece made by Lego. Now I've been a long time fan of the grand lego ships since the Black Seas Barracuda and as a child I always wanted to be able to have the grand ship float along side me while swimming in our family pool. I know many lego builders would shun at having their lego get wet but Lego is a near indestructible toy and it would be fun I think! kids would get a kick out of it. So I was thinking of something similar to this: As you can see the hull would be a rather large solid plastic brown piece but compatible with Lego bricks. I have never seen anything accomplished with this and I may have to make a prototype myself. What does everyone think of this idea? Would you be interested in a solid lego galleon hull? Perhaps the float-able hulls could be sectioned into pieces thus allowing the creator to make the hull shorter or longer depending? I just think there could be a lot of fun with this if only it existed.
  9. Many years ago, Earth passed thru a series of climatic and environment events that led to massive changes on the atmosphere and also on the earth surface composition. Lighter-than-air gases, such as helium or hidrogen became predominant and made some landmasses detached from the ground and start free floating on the skies. Most are huge, stunning and majestic, with waterfalls, rivers and entire towns. Others are small with just one or two houses and a few families. Inhabitants had to adapt and to evolve because huge chunks of the Earth surface were now drifting and floating. These islands are usually free-floating and may be directed by the whim of their inhabitants, whilst others may be permanently anchored. Basic resources like food and drinkable water are becoming scarce. Most people have to travel on rudimentary vehicles that float with the help of balloons so they can look for supplies and other necessities. Some even anchor other small floating islands to use them as crops fields and animal farms or just because they want to increase their property. Todaidh Beag is one of those islands. Holds Triroof Manor, home of Godfrey Morgan, his wife, Bella and his 2 sons, Cyrus and Malcumus. Cyrus and Malcumus often leave the island on their balloon boat to find food and supplies. Most of the times they endure bad weather, air pirates and other dangers. But they still have to do the trips to be able to survive and help their family. So guys, this is my latest build and I think this is a new favorite of mine. Even more then my Bluewater Castle as I think this one fits much more my building style. My latest castle builds were drifting to a more vibrant and colorful style that pleases me very much and this one is no exception. It’s not a steampunk build as it does not fit the bill entirely, but I like how it turned out. Anyway, I’m big fan of floating islands literature and stories and it was about time I made a MOC on that theme. I intend, if time and life allows, to build more on these theme. This thing is huge and it was the most challenging build so far. First I made the base with all the landscape and the house, etc. It was build on a very thick and strong base with lots of plates and 16x1 bricks. Then I made an oval technic frame in the shape of an inverted pyramid (I will post a pic or two of the frame later)with a core center of 2x4 bricks were the all landscape, house, etc stands on top. Perfectly balanced :) Inspiration from Life in the sky by Vladimir Kustuchek and the round tower part was from David Hensel latest build. It has lots of small details like the balloon boat, the harpoon to anchor smaller islands and other random stuff. If you want to see lots of details and small things please take a look at all the photos. I took a bunch :) Hope you like it. PS: yes, this is a Medium Azure roof. And I love this color :) The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag 10 11 The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag 20 (2) The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag The Floating Island of Todaidh Beag
