    [LEGO IDEAS] The Royal Flagship

Ahoy, mateys! I'd like to present to you a Lego Ideas project - The Royal Flagship - a classic style, modular, set-like looking ship-of-the-line with lots of play features. SUPPORT NOW Stats and overview: Features: ---------- About: I started this project with a specific intention - to design a multi deck vessel that can be both - a Lego set-like looking ship that's fun to play with, and a decently realistic shelf model of a true ship-of-the-line. And all of this had to fit in the Lego Ideas framework, specifically it had to contain 3000 parts or less. No easy undertaking, and I've failed to come up with something that I liked a couple of times over the past years. This design now, however, I think it quite does it. Sure, it might not be playful enough to some, and not realistic enough looking to others, and then there's the fact there are only stud-shooters instead of ye olde Lego cannons... () But I hope the compromise I found is appealing to at least some of you; and that it proves that ships-of-the-line can be done as sets by Lego. Some decisions I took along the way: Use stud shooters instead of spring powered cannons (*boo-ing noises in the background* ) But hear me out - let's face it, no single set will ever contain that many classic cannons. So the Royal Flagship features easy to remove stud shooter based custom cannons that can be fired from outside the ship, but that can also as easily be replaced by your good old spring powered cannons - if you got enough of them, the space is there! Almost no interior, except for the captain's cabin. This decision was simply based on Lego Ideas' 3000 parts maximum. Feel free to fill the decks with whatever you would like to see though - there's enough headroom for minifigs to be placed on all decks! Relatively simple hull shape, little tumble home, no string rigging. Due to the modular approach, I just couldn't come up with anything more ornate/fancy/complicated - if you have some suggestions, however, feel free to elaborate! The Royal Flagship was very well received during last year's Bricks @nd Friends exhibition in Cologne; kids especially seemed to like the firing mechanism pretty well - we literally had a blast Let's see if I can take the ship to a few more exhibitions this year - if Corona permits. ---------- If you have questions, please ask! And if you got ideas for improvements, I'm all ears! If I convinced you - please support on Lego Ideas! And feel free to share with friends and other pirates enthusiasts - every vote counts! Thank you for watching SUPPORT NOW

    [MOC] Tintin Unicorn Ship

My first post! My rendition of the Unicorn from Tintin (mainly based on the film). Just edited with better photos. Would love to hear your thoughts! And here's Tintin and Haddock with the Unicorn model - please forgive me using a cat for Snowy!!
  4. Well I finally unearthed the old girl from my east coast repository (my brother’s house) and yes by the yellowing of the white, you can tell she has been displayed for a few years on my shelf. I built this around 2000, but I only know this by the use of the bent studless liftarms that I had just gotten when I built her, and those came out in 2000. Here is the list of my modifications/functions. See my Flickr pages for lots more photos and close ups. I didn’t have time to take any video. Electric proportional 4 wheel power steering Electric drop top convertible - operated by switch on dashboard Electric micro motor controlled spoiler- operated by switch on dashboard Pneumatic ride height adjustment- from switch in center console utilizing: Front - shock mount point adjusted to maximize suspension travel Rear - pneumatic spring compression to maximize traction Opening doors with internal and external handle/latch Supercharger - belt driven Intercoolers Working brake pedal and brake lights ( no real brakes ) Fiber optic ignition with real timing (simple firing order) Improved body styling and stretched wheelbase. Only original function lost was HOG steering, but since the steering wheel was now proportionally electric controlled, you could steer and push from the steering wheel with no problem with the top down. Hope you enjoy! Joke mode on- And just a note, I am not really looking for any criticism unless you have been doing this since 2000 or 2001 and can remember having to try and add all these features and functions using what we had at the time. Joke mode off-

  6. Bluecoat Ship ahoy! In response to the increased threat from pirates and redcoats alike, the ship builders of the home country of Bluecoat forces ordered a ship to match, or beat, the pirates feared Brick Bounty. This ship turned out to be the HMS Arcangel, which features six guns, three masts, a lifeboat, and opening captain's quarters with hideaway for valuable maps, charts and medical supplies. Fully Rigged, Two Square Sails on the Main 12B Okay, so the ship took a while to do: I wanted to take set 70413 Brick Bounty and make a non-pirate ship from it, and it took a month to do so. Also, the sails are Technic panels, so if you don't like that, you are out of luck. here is the Captain's quarters, with hideaway for secret maps, medical supplies, or just "sparking water' (read: alcohol) you don't want to share with anyone. This piece should go on the stern flag pole: http://alpha.brickli...25pb007#T=C&C=1 LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1440615456m.lxf My updated version of the Black Pearl shall be coming soon to it's own topic! EDIT: And here it is! http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=114068

    Another Budget Imperial Flagship

174B Earlier this year I decided I wanted an Imperial Flagship. It's very expensive even for a used one... So I decided to see what I had at home. It turned out I already had most parts. So I ordered the missing parts and sails and I think I got away at around €100-150. Due to the price of some parts I've had to swap colours, mostly the masts and the dark brown parts for which I use black. The dark bley fence pieces are also swapped for black ones. Sorry for the bad pictures. Battling against my newly acquired Black Seas Barracuda:

  12. [pid][/pid] Hey Guys, here is a review of the Classic System Imperial Flagship 6271! I hope you enjoy, I thought it may be cool to see this set in more detail! Since the price of this set varies, anywhere from about $80 onward, it is up to you whether it is worth it or not. I have had mine in my collection for a long time, when I got it as a gift it was NIB. Personally I love it, and think it is an essential to any pirate or imperial navy collection!
