8 Billboards so far... by Humble Bricksmith, on Flickr Over the past year, I've been working on making city billboards, depicting classic LEGO themes. Billboards are a great way to add unique flair and character to any LEGO city or diorama. Without using any printed bricks, it becomes very difficult to create small details without scaling up your creation. I figured that billboards are a good compromise between detail and scale. This was my submission to the Lego Wizarding World build competition. These are the photos I submitted and as one of the requirements of the contest no minifigures were permitted but I plan on taking a few with Hagrid and Fang and potentially Harry Ron and Hermione.

This building is inspired by set 10263 (Winter Village Fire Station), while the pumper truck was originally designed by Brick City Depot alongside their version of a Winter Village fire station. The fire truck has been built in real life for almost a year, but a good fire station design to go with it has eluded me until very recently, when I downloaded set 10263 from Eurobricks' "official LEGO sets in LDD" topic (which was built by @Migui94, just to be clear. ) As you can see, both have been heavily modified, with the building having an opening rear half / removable roof and an bright red color scheme and the truck being rebuilt from the front end to the cab. (which has a roof!) The rear of the building has a couple windows and plenty of room for the fire truck inside, while the top of the tower has a water barrel. Inside on the front half is the fireman's pole, with half the the living quarters upstairs and some equipment down near the truck. The building locks shut on a Technic pin to keep the building from opening during transit to shows / during storage. The upper floor roof is also removable on the two half-sections, to access the enclosed bunk-room and get at the kitchen better. Four figures can sleep in the bunk beds, (good luck getting the two in the bottom sections, though!) and the pool table is supposed to have this print for the eight ball. The kitchen section has two chairs, a radio, telephone, dog bed, stove, sink and coffee machine. Please NOTE: the building is only open-able to 90 degrees. Any further bashes the roof into itself or the wall into the outside lantern (if the roof is removed). This fire truck was originally designed by Brick City Depot alongside their Winter Village fire station, but was been heavily redesigned by me a while back to better fit with the rest of my early 1900's vehicles. This truck features two hoses, two fire extinguishers and a ladder. One seat is included for the driver. As usual, comments, questions, complaints, and suggestions are welcome!

Class AEGIR turntable ladder belongs to the special purpose aerial apparatus class of fire fighting vehicle. More in particular class AEGIR vehicles are "quint" fire trucks, turntable ladders with additional functions such as an onboard pump, a water tank, fire hose, aerial ladder and multiple ground ladders. A class AEGIR fire truck has a 40 meters long telescopic ladder with a large chest and a water cannon, 4 main hoses (front, left side, right side, ladder) and 4 spare hoses, ground ladders, medical kit, fire fighting equipments (air tanks and masks, hatchets, jackets, saws, hydraulic spreader and cutter, various tools, fire extinguishers), external power generator, lights. The main pump (for water and hydraulic) has 450 horse power (from vehicle engine), and every class AEGIR vehicle has 2 water tank: 1x water (4500 l) and 1x foam (700 l). Hi Its been a while since I first posted my origanal Scotsburgh Fire department Appliances photo's http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75356&hl= so thought it was about time I gave an update. Here are appliances/engines that were introduced through 2014. The first appliance/engine is a Scania/Bronto 28m Allrounder, which is an Aerial Rescue Pump. Basically a combined aerial appliance and Rescue Pump. As detailed its on a Scania crew cab chassis with double rear axle to take the weight and has Bronto 28m boom package. First photo's of this are from my LDD design of the appliance. I have brick built it so photo's to follow. Scania Chassis with water tank Scania Chassis with bodywork Unfortunatley I couldn't work out how to get LDD to allow the boom package to fit on the body, but you'll see it when I post the brick built version. Some people say that the prequels sucked...and they did...but I believe that this scene redeemed all 3 movies (Minus He-sa who-sa shall not be named-sa ;) So I decided to replicate this epic Lightsaber battle in Lego. This moc has over 1500 pieces (most of which are in the lava) and took me and my sister about 7 hours to build and finalize. After a week of looking at it I thought something was missing so I ordered some fantastic Lego lights and set them up under that lava to create a fantastic effect. I would love some feedback on the moc and I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks so much for taking a look!

The tales all tell about captains brave enough to challenge larger and more heavily armed opponents. And succesfully defeat those opponents by witty tactics and superior maneuvering ... However, those are the tales. When you face reality, reality in the shape of an English frigate facing a French 64 gun battle ship that is, all kinds of heroics are reduced and everything becomes a simple equation taking into account the relevant numbers. A bold move of the English captain but a stupid one, one full broadside of the French 64 was enough to blast him back to reality. A cooperation with Captain Greenhair.

Hi everyone, I participated on a contest of LowLUG. The contest was to build something what has something to do with: in fire and flame. Maximum 16 x 16 studs and 20 bricks high. The third and last build was Sirius Black. I wanted to create the face of Sirius Black in the fire. I had the printed tile as example for the shape, but the colors of the printed tile were terrible. I used a lot of spike (?) parts for the hair, but it felt incomplete and I had no idea to change it. For more pictures see my Flickr album Sirius Black. Questions and feedback are welcome. Sander

Dear Lego, We know you design sets in advance, and it's very likely we'll see another lineup of fire sets for city. In conversations with other Lego fire builders, we humbly submit 5 requests regarding that theme. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration. 1. It's time for a new air tank mold. The double-airtank Lego mold is now 40 years old and inaccurate. It's probably time for an update. Firefighters in the United States (and around the world) use airtanks that are a single tank, not a double tank. See this photo 2. It's time for a more modern stretcher (Stokes basket). The Lego stretcher piece is from WWI. We're now 100 years past that technology. We'd really appreciate a Stokes basket piece. 3. We're desperate for lift doors in sizes other than just 4-tall. A 2-studs-tall (4 wide) version would be awesome. Also, we need them in red. The ones on Bricklink are going for $25+ EACH! 4. We'd like a 6-wide windscreen piece that's not sloped. This part – but in a 6-wide version. 5. This one is optional, but would be awesome. How about yellow printing on a black helmet? This is the standard helmet for firefighters in much of the U.S. One way to address this would be to release a collectable American firefighter minifig. Here are my latest, Actually completed and posted on the last day of the last year. I am a big child and I wanted to make some cute old-timers, and are there cuter cars than those from the 40's? Anyway, I made toys I could play with when I put my kids off to sleep and so I did. Everything opens and each model's got something extra. For example Fleetmaster Fastback version which is the police vehicle's got guns and a rifle. Coupe version for the Fire Chief's got some fire extinguishers, Sedan version which is the TAXI's got 2 suitcases and the Delivery stretched Ambulance version some medical gear an oxigen tank, water tank with a pipe and a gurney. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

Hello! Today I decided to build custom LEGO fire ATV. And this is what I've done. I like the colors and size of the ATV. I think, I will put it in the LEGO forest, near the city. By the way, I like all official LEGO forest fire and police sets. On my opinion, LEGO forest subtheme is good and I'm waiting for some new sets. Do you agree with me?

Here we see my MOD of the Brick City Depot (Winter Village) Fire station. I redid the color scheme in some places & added a different Fire Engine. I remodeled the top level (no tower) and put pillars in the corners of the building, plus I added a back wall with inside details. The garage doors open to allow the fire truck to back in. (it does fit, I checked!) The 4 x 4 bonnet right above the doors should feature this print. As you can see, here is the back wall with the chimney flue for the oven and roof top water storage barrel. The inside now features two bunk beds. a oven, table, chairs, reception area and rotary-dial phone. The fireman's pole goes from the upper floor to the bottom level, and stairs allow for you to return to the top. I was inspired to build this by set 9484, Red's Water Rescue. I replaced the eyes with window parts, while adding a grille where the mouth was. I also beefed up the rear, and removed the flick-fire missiles. The sides of the truck should have two of this print under the hoses where the blank 2 x 2 tiles are. The side of the truck features two hoses (one for each side) and the roof has a ladder. (The ladder can rotate 360 degrees and can go up and down.) The doors to get into the crew cab also open and close while the sides feature 4 hose hookups (that's the pearl gold 1x1 round studs) and two identical pump controls. The LDD for both the station and truck can be downloaded here. Comments, Questions & Complaints are welcome, and this model is on the to-be-built short list... maybe by December of this year(?) alongside the town hall. Any thoughts?

My second build for ABS Round 2.1 The seed part is the red bucket, which I used 19 times (once in another color) in this build, see if you can find them all! I have wanted to try some builds in the city theme for a while, and a fire truck offered some nice possibilities to use the seed part. Then I decided to add the actual fire station, and a smaller fire truck after coming up with some other ideas for the part. The build is complete on all sides, and even has a bit of interior. Time for everyone's favorite childhood vehicle, a Fire Truck! This one is modeled off of @HorcikDesigns fabulous Truck. This one takes his design, adds a little Renault, and some special features, and it's done. The manual truck has four wheel drive, with suspension based off my 8081 4x4, a I-4 engine, a link based steering system controlled by both roof lights, and a tilting cab with seating for four. Ladies and Gentlemen, several months have passed since my last posting here. Surely quite a long time. But I was pretty busy in real life. Fortunately I’ve found some time to finish several MOCs for my municipal fire department during the past months. Now I found the time to show you what has left the factory on my desk... Let’s start with a new MPV. It’s based on the short SUV-version as you can in the second pic and it’s mostly used for the daily routine. Generic build with nothing special. Based on longer 4 x 10 studs classical car chassis. One of the newer creations is a new truck for the rescue-divers unit. The truck itself features an airconditioned cabin for the divers to change their clothes, loaded fully with rescue and technical equipment – especially for the rescue on (iced up) waterways. The trailer features a speedboat with a rugged aluminum hull. I also redid my fire truck for heavy technical assistance on railways. I got the proportions much more right by shorten the lenghts about one stud. I redid the bogie underneath and changed the regular train wheels to these little 1/2 smooth technic bush for a more realistic look. Unfortunately it won’t fit on the lego tracks anymore. Well... but I am okay with it. Surely one of the most specialized apparatus is this telehandler. I had it on schedule for almost years. But didn’t manage how get all the significant details and of course the integrated playability into 4wide. Finally I decided to build the cabin segment in 5wide. Thankfully I a spent evening chatting with some friends on 1000steine I got the right influences concerning the telescope arm. I also created abunch of different tools for the handler: a forklift, a lifting platform, a shovel, a hook, a claw and such. The lastest creation is special foam unit. I’ve found an old photo on the internet of a fire truck to be on duty at an Esso oil refinery near Cologne, Germany during the first half of the 1980s. That caught my attention. I decided to build my own version of it. Added specials are definitely the two independent moveable turrets, snotted tank-segment with its hose ports. I also could finish two new trucks for Farnheim Airport Fire Services. The smaller one is a typically RIV (Rapid Intervention Vehicle) and other one is a massive Crash Tender, which was originally in service at the Stuttgart International Airport from the late 1980s till 2003. Both models feature the use of the actual 4 wide mudguards. In addition the bigger Crash Tender has a tilting cabin with a motor replica and a special, unusual tire-on-tire combination to get the typical monstrous appearance as the original. BTW: This year the Farnheim Fire Department is going to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Started as an classical 1/87th scale modelling. The years passed and the hobby rested for almost two decades. Since 2009, when getting in touch with Lego again, I restarted the Farnheim-themed modelling by using bricks instead of glue and paint. This time I'm presenting my latest LDD work. A Zekiville Volunteer fire station. The building itself contains 20.000 bricks. It meets the latest standards in safety and functionality. The main part of the building houses garages, wardrobes and sanitary facilities for firefighters. The Gray wind accomidates all the administative facilities and the underground levels cover recreational and storage facilities. The training tower is designed to allow vertical rescue training, and structual fire simulations. The top 2 floors on gray wind and a top floor on orange wing (main building) provides 12 apartments for firefighter and their families in order to provide as fast responce as possible. The building also house other volunter emergency services such as: - K9 Sar unit - Dive rescue unit - Cave rescue unit and mountain rescue unit. The garages for their equipmet are locates at the back of the building. The look on the building from the front. Back view. Part of rescue apparatus. Hey all! For a while, I've want to build something for the frozen beyond, but I never made time for it. When I was building for a contest, with a mage-battle category, I decided it was time for a build for The Frozen Beyond. For those that are wondering, no it doesn't have purple roofs, so this isnt located in Kyrrath. This build is located somewhere in the land in south of Kyrrath. The reason I didn't go for purple roofs(wanted to do so, at first) is that I didnt want to use black in my build, and I don't have enough purple wedges for all the roofs. So in the end I went for the blue-orange colorscheme, to make an unrealistic color-combination, although I didn't want it to look 'weird'. In the end I'm quite pleased with the result, so now it's up to you to make your own opinion at my build :) I didn't really make a story, but my build shows that the algus is still slowly spreading over the guilds... It has even reached one of the 'hottest' places, far into the nocturnus' lands... But although they come close to these places, the algus isn't strong enough to capture the house of the fire-mage... This far from the north, the power of the Algus isn't that big anymore, and the icemage gets blown away by the firespells, used by the fire-mage... My 10th and last entry to the Colossal Castle Contest (small miscellaneous category). This was mainly a small fun build to mess around with new designs. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, and that I was able to get every element actually attached, except the 3 logs which rest securely in the firewood bin. First installment in the story. After his first successful meeting with the Jarl of Balkr, Glorfindel had high hopes that he would meet with similar success when visiting other jarls and lords on the Nocturnus border. Dedan had set off for another clansman village, while Glorfindel's next trip took him to the medium sized town of Firoir. A single guard stood watch at the gate, or rather sat watch, as he was resting on a stool. "What's your business here?" He questioned, not bothering to stand. "I need to speak with Lord Tuinis," Glorfindel replied, taking in the somewhat disheveled uniform of the soldier. "Just straight on down the main road to his manor then, can't miss it." "Thank you, and good day," said Glorfindel, to which the guard merely grunted. Continuing on his way, Glorfindel saw that the guard was right and that it would be almost impossible to miss the large ornate manor. After an equally brief conversation with the steward, Glorfindel found himself face-to-face with Lord Tuinis in a lavish wood paneled room. "And what brings the esteemed Sir Glorfindel to the humble town of Firoir?" Asked Tuinis with a sneer. "Urgent orders from Elon Chorian no doubt, more men and supplies needed to defend our beloved capitol city?" Somewhat taken aback by the lord's belittling manner, Glorfindel tried to be diplomatic in his response: "It's always an honor to be received into any town of Mitgardia, and while the capitol is secure, I do bring word from Chorian that the villages, towns, and cities along the Nocturnus border should be fortified against a possible attack from the darklands. Tuinis jeered, "Of course! It's easy enough for him to order new fortifications and more soldiers to be trained, but we lords always pay the price for his petty concerns. Not a year ago, I was ordered to send troops and reserves of goods to the North for defense against the Algus threat. Yet this supposed threat to our existence was never even sighted by my scouts!" "Surely you don't mean to question the validity of the Algus attack?" Glorfindel asked incredulously. "Northern Mitgardia paid a dear price to keep the Algus from advancing to your doorstep! And if your scouts really never picked up on that threat, that only betrays their incompetence!" "You dare insult a lord of Mitgardia to his face at his own hearth?" spat Tuinis, "I know your kind, merely a lackey of Valholl, constantly sticking your nose into your better's business, and getting rewarded for it!" For a moment, Glorfindel could only consider the satisfaction a swift blow to the insolent face before him would provide, then with a great effort he controlled himself and turned from the room. Tuinis aimed one final insult at the retreating figure "That's right, crawl back to your fancy city and learn not to meddle. You have no authority here, boy." Another view of the build. Hi guys, I'm new here, and I want to present my newest MOC: Pierce Arrow XT "Tiller Truck" in colors of San Jose Fire Department A tiller truck, also known as a tractor-drawn aerial, tiller ladder, or hook-and-ladder truck, is a specialized turntable ladder mounted on a semi-trailer truck. Unlike a commercial semi, the trailer and tractor are permanently combined and special tools are required to separate them. It has two drivers, with separate steering wheels for front and rear wheels. One of the main features of the tiller-truck is its enhanced maneuverability. The independent steering of the front and back wheels allow the tiller to make much sharper turns which is particularly helpful on narrow streets and apartment complexes with mazelike roads. An additional feature of the tiller-truck is that its overall length, over 50 feet (15 m) for most models, allows for additional storage of tools and Equipment Some departments elect to use tiller-quints, which are tiller trucks that have the added feature of being fitted with an on-board water tank.[5] These are particularly useful for smaller departments that do not have enough personnel to staff both an engine company and a truck company. It's an american Ford E-350 E-450 (thanks Only Sinner ;) ) ambulance, and I was inspired by the L.A. Fire Department one. This model is basically two different "okay" fire boat sets smashed together to make a "better" ship. The features I'm talking about are modern upper decks with plenty of fire-fighting power (represented by CITY set 7207), and a brick built hull like from the early series of ships. (as seen on set WORLD City 7046) As a side note, The printed parts are from another Fire Station from the 4 Juniors theme. (4657) With that in mind, I built a whole new hull for the ship out of mostly 2 x 10 and 2 x 8 bricks with a few fancy bow parts from set 7046 thrown in. The rest of the ship comes from set 7207, but with a few tweaks here and there. (such as adding a smokestack and rear water tank) The rear of the ship features an extendable and rotatable water cannon arm to get deep inside the burning hull of the imaginary ship this vessel is fighting to save. You can also see the smaller cannons scattered around the ship in several locations. The top of the ship's bridge flips open to reveal the command center of the model, with the steering wheel and several computer readouts telling of power supplied to the engines and of radar detected objects in the ship's path. The lower deck consists of the galley (or kitchen) and a quite large computer terminal array. The forward flip-up section features water pressure monitor controls. NOTES: The upper deck (the bridge) is grouped separately in the file because it is removable to access the ship's lower level. Also, I originally made this for my brother, but he changed his mind on it, so I'll be (eventually) building it instead.
