Location= A-04 Mynderis Tags= Kawashita, Pilot, Hovership, Mynderis, Exploration As we push towards all the planets in the galaxy being controlled by a corporation I feel like every little brick of Awesomnium is needed to keep us ahead of the others. I will scout for every last brick and then send out drones to retrieve it. I won't land on the planet, it is to volatile.

    [M-D04] Searching For Biomass

Location: D04 Terrial Minor Tags: MANTIS, Exploration, Ground Vehicle, spaceship interior SpaceSteve has been searching the barren surface of Terrial Minor for sources of water to be used for new MANTIS agricultural operations. - Eventually after a couple weeks of searching. He comes across a small oasis. It is teeming with life forms and plant life. He scans the oasis and sets the beacon for future MANTIS development. - - - Suddenly he get a call from the Sythe in orbit. KosmicKevan- Steve you had better get back up here we are heading through the gate ahead of schedule. We have been summoned by a very important individual in the **Classified** system. I have sent a dropship to your location. - Back on the Scythe KosmicKevan informs SpacerSteve about what he knows about the meeting. - SpacerSteve- Well this will should be interesting... KosmicKevan- He says he knows the location of **Classifed** we haven't seen him since we left Spyrius. KosmicKevan leaves and SpacerSteve watches Terrial Minor quickly disappear in the distance. - Some more shots of the hovercraft - - - Thanks for looking C&C welcome. I'm not satisfied with the rocks on the base. I also reused my Cat C build this week. I just had to use it once more before I tear it apart for parts for my Cat B.

    [M - D04] Exploring Terrial Minor

  5. Location: C06 Hyreal Tags: Exploration Mission Log: Entry 13 ~ After my last escapade, I headed to the KGMA on Hyreal to finally get some weapons training. Once I arrived, I was instructed on how to use a standard K-17 blaster, and then the more fiddly blaster pistol. Once that was over, I was summoned by Narbilu to join him in an exploration of the planet's wilderness. After a scenic cruise, we left the vehicle and split up, Narbilu heading east, me heading west. I had walked for about an hour across the terrain before I spotted a rather strangely shaped plant in front of me... And then it turned around... In my hurry to get away, I had accidentally left my binoculars behind! My trusty binoculars, which had served me so well on so many expeditions... I knew what I had to do. Luckily for it, my K-17 was loaded with tranquillizer darts instead of bullets. Eventually Narbilu found me. He was impressed with my prowess and had the alien...thing transported to Kawashita Labs for research and analysis. They quickly discovered that it was, in fact, a harmless plant-eater.... Since I discovered it, I get to name it apparently! I think I'll call it... The Hyreal Tree Mimic. [ Figless ] [ The Hyreal Tree Mimic on its own. It has fully rotatable feet and arms, not to mention its... wings? Hmm... Its body is a Star Wars Endor scout speeder ] [ Sorry for the picture-heaviness. C&C welcome! ]

    [K - C08] Speedboating around

Planet: C08 Lorstan II Tags: Exploration Commander Turtle and Dr. Killjoy have returned to Lorstan II, ostensibly to analyse algae. Neowwwwwm!! Commander, is there any chance we can slow down? Not on your life! I think we passed an algae formation a few seconds ago! Or maybe it was another horrific space-worm, I have no idea! This data is too noisy... Noisy means fast! Learn to love the noise! Not that type of noisy! ~~~ So, this one is directly inspired by Venetian taxis, which are cool as hell. And brick-built water because, well, I don't really like the "random 1x1 trans-blue plates" approach to liquid and I wouldn't have enough parts for it even if I wanted to! C&C appreciated, especially with said water.

Let's pick it up for a closer look. What does it look like? It looks like it's scared, sir. Excellent! Mission successful! Something about this situation is inappropriate. What are you going on about, Eshey? You never make any sense. Sir, I know this assignment was a psychological test for marketing, which was confidential. But now that we are here, could you let us in on it? Well, as the major corporations here in Andromeda start conflict with each other over planets to dominate, our marketing department wanted to develop a vehicle that would take a form so terrifying that fear itself would be our ally. The idea is that the use of such a vehicle would discourage the other corporations from interfering with our assignments. Eshey and I had our brains scanned so they could find images of the thing that terrified us the most during our exploration assignments. I see. I'm still not sure how I feel about this. You always worry too much, Eshey. Now, let's bring her about and return to the ship. And let's bring the alien back. I'm sure Dr. Long would want to take a look. Aye, sir. No, no, no, Hombre. We'll bring this one back alive. What? I don't even... Alright, sir, we're ready to leave Raduon and return to the Axle. Engage. ++End data transmission++ Next: More pics under the spoiler tag.
  8. Location: C06 - Hyreal Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Exploration Ender was off across one of the islands of Hyreal. This one was known for it's black sand beaches. Something not found in many parts of the galaxy. But what this island was even better known for were it's orange trees. Ender wished he had more time to stop and admire, but his main task was to explore and see if there was anything more valuable than the water they already knew they could harvest from the planet.

Really, you shouldn't have been having a tea party with the drones, an accident was bound to happen... What's that shadow? Oh my... Kawashita Guide to the Galaxy The Leviathan Worm is a terrifying flying monstrosity. It appears to be lighter-than-air and swims through the sky like the hellspawn it is. We don't know what it eats, but it probably enjoys snacking on pilots. Since it fills us with terror, it has been deemed a terrorist and we at Kawashita have a zero tolerance policy on terrorism. As such, future explorers on this planet should have their craft equipped with top tier energy beams, if not nuclear warheads.

Location: B06, Sorn Tags: MANTIS, Vehicle, Exploration Job: Driver Start Log: Another water mission this week, but I got to drive a boat for the first time. And not any standard boat at that, the HC-2 is a pretty nifty piece of machinery, or maybe I should say pieces of machinery, as it's really two vehicles in one. Plus I got to see one of the new MANTIS subs in action. Our task was to chart as much of B06 as possible, to decide on best locations for future MANTIS bases, refineries, and comm stations. Even though it's mostly water, there's some pretty scenery on Sorn. See more pictures here: http://brickbuilt.or...tic-Explore.php Thanks for looking

    [O-F04] Enter Stage Right

Note: this was bound to happen eventually... Planet: F04-Illustria Tags: science, air/space vehicle, exploration //"Log date 387, this is Dr. Danielle Long, reporting from the Axle, in temporary orbit in sector F04, the planet designated Illustria. I received word early this morning that Corporate wants the Axle researching the reports of Alien activity in the core of the galaxy... they have postponed my endeavors to idiot-proofing our final prototype of the Chekhov's gauntlet in order to better prepare ourselves for whatever we discover therein. Comrade Commander was pleased to begin working on remote monitoring of the inner ring worlds, and now we will begin gathering data from our drones. I have requested that Bob of Quatrian oversee the piloting of an Sc214 Arial Observation Drone. I will attend his research gathering and direct him to ensure we observe the most valuable prospects. Dr. Long signing off."// Bob of Quatrian: "Hey, Danielle. Heard about your pet project getting tabled. That's rough." Dr. Long: "how did you know about--" Bob: "I used to be CEO for a bit. Hated the desk, but I've still got connections. So... you said you wanted me to pilot something for you? It's not another land vehicle is it?" Dr. Long: "No. It's a drone." Bob: "Aww. So that's why you set me up at a holo-desk." Dr. Long: "That is correct." Bob: "hah! Well, it's better than nothing! So, what'm I doing today?" Dr. Long: "we are going to be performing arial observation on an as-of-yet unexplored planet! Illustria waits beneath us." Bob: "Alright! So we're going to be the first? We're do we start?" Dr. Long: "hmm. I'm pleased that you're so enthusiastic. Well, we can start whenever you're ready. The drone is prepped to deploy once you sign in to your Holo-desk." Bob: "As you yourself used to say, ,Let us explore all these worlds we've gained access to, and better understand our universe and our place therein.'" Dr. Long: "Oh. You still remember that?.... anyways... let's get started." Bob: "Alright!" _______A little bit Later_______ Bob: "well the controls are pretty intuitive on this thing. Not bad maneuvering. I'd give it an A-." Dr. Long:"I was asking what you thought of the planet... Rocky cliffs... they seem weather-whipped. Not much foliage here. That's unfortunate. I do enjoy analyzing xeno-flora samples." Bob: "ha! I'm sure we'll find something!" Dr. Long: "yes. I'm sure we will. This is just a preliminary inspection anyways. Full planetary examination will follow. There, go over to that cliff... I think I saw something blue." Bob: "Ok, let's check it out!.. oh! Wait! What the blazes was that?!" Dr. Long: "Wow! It's going fast! Follow it! It looks... biomechanical.... Fascinating." Bob: "Alright... wow! It looks like it's trying to shake me!" Dr. Long: "Are you saying an Ace pilot like yourself can't catch it?" Bob: "Ha! You're on!" -----------Meanwhile, on the cliff where Dr. Long saw something Blue.------- Translated from a language of clicks, whistles, whirrs, and chirps... Zotaxian: "That was close... Good idea sending out a bug to distract it. What was that white thing? It didn't look like a native Alien of this planet..." Danny Longlegs: "a Human bot. I've seen their kind before. It belongs to one of the three human hives that arrived here not too long ago... considering the colour, I'd say it belongs to the hive that refers to herself as 'Saturated 8 carbon chain.'" Zotaxian: "what is her purpose? Does She seek to destroy the Halcyons?" Danny Longlegs: "We are the sentinels. We can never be too sure. Best to avoid contact with Her until we can better assess her intent." _____________ Yup. Here are the Zotaxians. A race of ancient planetary Nomads, protecting the hidden vestiges of their ancient civilization... and the secrets they hold. I'll provide more details on the species when I get some time. Also, yes, Dr. Long is kinda having fun. She needs a little de-stress here and there with an old friend. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

    [K- D04] First Contact

Mission 8: First Contact Tags. Kawashita. Terrial Minor D04 We put our ship down a few KM out so as to not alarm the alien outpost we found. The Corp wants us to make contact and try to form a alliance of sorts so Kawashita can operate on Terrial Minor without conflict. As we approach the blue outpost a outer door opens. We make first contact, thankfully the alien isn't armed or hostile. Everyone in my squad was given earpiece translation devices so we can understand what the alien is saying. We also have attached throat mics that will transmit our speech into their language. We are invited in. The aliens seems worried but open to talks. I guess another corporation, Mantis, hasn't been as friendly to them. Thankfully Kawashita works to keep relations open and cordial with everyone. "Take me to your leader", gah, I cannot believe I said that but they are happy to do so. Our conversation and agreement is classified information. I won't divulge what was said. Next we are given the tour of the facility. It seems to be a listening outpost, they have been monitoring all three corporations operating on the galaxy and are pleased with Kawashitas movements and respect for life in the galaxy. This is a high frequency signal tower. It sends a radioactive signal to our other outposts to relay information. Just tell your redshirt to not get to close to the front of the...... Welp, more TPS reports for the bosses. Losing a redshirt isn't the worst thing to happen. Don't worry, this doesn't change our agreement. I'll have my two other reds take care of the remains. They will also remain here, to help keep Kawashita included in different reports being sent. Thank you for your hospitality, sorry about your man.

    [M - D04] Lots of new Friends

Location: D04 - Terrial Minor Tags: MANTIS, spying, exploration AG: Lots of new friends by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D's log 10: After acquiring the ultramafic lava sample for my new weapon - the Flamius™ - (found a name!) on Mynderis, I was sent to Terrial Minor to prepare for the first military wave of Kawashitan forces. Right now most of what is here are small scientific research labs, comminication stations, and Bio-Tar extraction devices (not yet a Kawashitan Trademark yet...they'd better move fast!). Although this part of the planet looks very lush, it is not. The soil is a very dry. However, the air is very humid because of the steam that constantly bubbles out from the tar-like pits (that I will just call tar pits, even though the science guys would correct me that they are not tar pits because the black substance is not actually tar...but I digress). So the soil is very dry, the atmosphere is very hot, and the air is very humid....I guess the humidity explains why plants are able to grow and how the aliens and creatures here can survive. The plants and the inhabitants here must get moisture from the air. All that is needed here now is some air conditioning and dehumidifying technology! Anyway, I was finally able to bring Wheelie (also found a name for the little guy!) with me because the guys at the computer lab finished upgrading him. I didn't like Wheelie in black, so I painted only a small portion lime green. My mission was simple, find out what the Bio-Tar devices do, and to make them . Wheelie proved to be especially useful in this area as he was able to open one up in a way that only a robot with the right tools could. Thus, we were not detected...but Kawashita will soon notice that a bunch of their Bio-Tar devices are starting to breakdown. Just place a small bomb that will damage a small function-critical component inside the Bio-Tar device, and then when we want to, set off the bomb, and then let the tar to its work on the Bio-Tar device (basically clog up the entire device). We found out that the tar contains high-quality biomass molecules that can be extracted if processed right. Small amounts of these biomass molecules perform four times as much as what large containers of more common biomass molecules do. Unfortunately, extraction techniques are still quite primitive, so research here is critical if a more effective way to extract these biomass molecules is to be found. My job - make sure Kawashita doesn't get the breakthrough first. The last but perhaps the most exciting observation from my mission on Terrial Minor were these flying creatures that I call gubbies. They flap their wings really fast, and they are the most curious creatures on this planet. Gubbies are very friendly, and they explore with their mouths, so if exploring, be sure to bring some food with you! It turns out they are easily persuaded with food. I've befriended several gubbies, and I hope to keep one...or two...or....nevermind. Too bad they don't like to chew on those metal Bio-Tar devices...Yes, I tried. You know you want one. ~ DD out --------------------------------------------------------- I had a blast with the colors on this one, and of course the gubbies are just adorable. I was fiddling around with the dinosaur head of the Dilophosaurus and then noticed that from the top it looked like a little flying thing. I stuck an eye on it, and voila - it was instantly adorable. Opening its mouth made it look even cuter. I found it while trying to figure out what to go with the pink areas of the landscape, and the lime green seemed to go well (plus I had gotten a lot of it from the P-A-B wall), so I gave it a go, and was very pleased with the result!

    [K - D04] Me and my Shadow

D04, exploration The corporations had their disagreements, but one thing they agreed on was that Terrial minor was a featureless but perilous desert. I had The Shadow as my guard though, so I was as safe as I could be. We only had to plant the flag and get out again. We made it to the drop zone no problem. And we set off to find what we could. Ferocious gusts of wind whipped at my cape, and it was cold. We left the booster engines near the drop zone. Once we found the East Pole, it was time to plant the standard and claim this planet for Kawashita. The Shadow has much better eyesight and hearing than me, I could not even see the threat. Whatever it was passed by without encounter, and warily we set off back to the drop zone. Mission accomplished. Peace out # [something a bit different this time, outside photos and a lot of them. I was so pleased with all the different configurations and the articulation of The Shadow that I wanted to show them off. I'm travelling in Japan at the moment, can you tell? ....must be looking at too many Gundam!]

[K - D04] Catch Me If You Can!

NOTE: THIS BUILD IS FOR WEEK 10, NOT WEEK 9. Location: D04 Terrial Minor Tags: Exploration Mission Log: Entry 12 ~ The alien somehow escaped my clutches yet again and headed for the planet Terrial Minor on the stolen shuttle. Unfortunately for him, he was a terrible pilot and promptly crashed, making it easier for me to locate him. Armed only with a pair of handcuffs, I had him trapped up a small rock outcrop. Nowhere to run. However, I was completely unprepared for what happened next. I should have known MANTIS had a presence on D04... I had no weapons of any kind (not that they would have been any use to me; I had no weapons training) As for the MANTIS guy, he had a Death Ray Blaster! Luckily, I have pretty fast reflexes! However, he kept coming! I frantically scrambled onto the rocky outcrop, but even that was not enough. I silently cursed myself for never getting weapons training. This is the end.... Closing my eyes, I waited for the blast that would end my life. But it never came. Instead, I heard a buzzing sound, and to my joy, a Kawashita Dropship, piloted by a robot and with Commander Turtle kneeling on the back, blaster in hand, rounded the edge of the outcrop and advanced on the MANTIS partisan. However, an evil smile formed on the MANTIS guy's face as he aimed for the belly of the dropship, hoping to cripple it and kill its passenger. I had a split second to act. Fortunately I had been trained in martial arts.... With the MANTIS guy safely handcuffed and secured, it was only a matter of minutes before we located the (terrified) alien. Obviously it was not accustomed to combat. I felt a rush of relief. I had succeeded in my mission and would keep my rank and status - the files were back safely in Kawashita hands and the alien was in custody. As for the MANTIS guy, he had been sent to a detention centre packed with other MANTIS prisoners - we had a lot - but the alien was going to a more secure prison on board the flagship. As for me - well, I decided that I'd better put aside my rangefinder binoculars for now and actually learn to handle a weapon - at the Hyreal Military Academy. The dropship: [ Sorry for the picture-heaviness of the build. C&C appreciated! ]

    [M - D03] A Cold Welcome

Location: D03-Terrial Major Tags: Vehicle, Exploration Job: Explorer I set up camp by a small pond on Terrial Major, my teeth chattering because of the cold. At least I'll have fish for dinner, I thought. I went over to my new Rocket Sled and grabbed a flame thrower. Who in their right minds would use a pick axe to make a hole in the ice, when there's these things called flame throwers? Ah, that looks about big enough. Now to wait for a bite. Woah, I think I got one! Whoof, look at the size of this thing! Too bad nobody else is here to see it. I'll just put my pole away and then cook you up, you'll make a delicious meal! Hmm... I don't have a fire to cook you over... Well, guess I'll just have to use my flame thrower. Ahh, delicious. Hehe, I bet an animal would just love to have this... Hey, what was that?... Uh-oh... AAAAHHH! I've gotta get to my MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster©! Come on, where is it?!?! Aha! Here it is! Stand back, beastie! Alright then, take this! Haha, you're no match for the MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster©! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! The beast was only momentarily stunned by the blast, so I went to plan B: drive like the dickens! It appears that according to this book (Domination for Dummies) explorers who happen to be on Castral ought to be looking for Biomass. That's odd. I don't believe I have seen any Biomass at all since I landed here... Hmhm, smells like smoke. Probably some Kawashita guy barbecuing. Well, he could certainly use a muffler on his grill, ha! Quack! Ha, I heard that! No way you're getting away this time ducky! Wait a sec, whatever happened to my spaceship. Yaa!! I really, really, hate THAT DUCK!! Hurry! Let's see what the book says to do if a space-duck steals your spaceship while you're on Castral. Humph. It says you should try to stop it or go look for some Bioass. Well, what if you were too busy reading when it happened to not notice 'til too late? Aha, here it is. It says here, that if a space-duck steals your spaceship while you're on Castral and leaves you stranded because you were too busy reading when it happened you should just go and look for Biomass. Well, as I said, this planet seems to be utterly devoid of Biomass. Oh, well, here we go. Figless. I was pretty happy with how the Octan symbol turned out! With spaceship: And the now stolen spaceship by itself: Oh, and the duck! Another build for Andromeda's Gates... and another horrible day for poor Jedadiah Douglass. Hope you enjoy it anyhow! C&C are welcome as always!

    [M-C04] Comm. Truck

Location: Aeristus, C04 Tags: Vehicle Job: Driver Start Log: A little different job than usual, as I was tasked with driving a MANTIS Comm. Truck, outfitted with all sorts of communicators and sensors. Still it's a rugged vehicle, and packs a hefty punch with it's large cannon: The various sensors and dishes can be moved quite a bit: Thanks for looking

    [M-D03] An Unexpected Transmission

:Exploration Log - Spacer Steve has spent the last couple weeks mapping Terrial Major and scanning the space near the galactic center. Using his R.A.T. (Recon and Transmission) track, he set off to explore. - Along the way he encountered a race of creature that resembled the zoids in Kawashita space. The main difference from the Zoids is they have evolved a thick coat of hair - Spacer Steve had just managed to make a treaty with Terrialians by trading his lava lamp (filled with Torrestrian lava) for their help mining water. - Just then he heard a buzzer beep. His computer signaled that there was an incoming ship. Looks like a small Octan transport! It looks like it is headed for Aeristus. Spacer Steve followed the ship's signal until it hit the surface. - He kept his scanner pointed to Aeristus for a couple hours just in case he couple hear any chatter from any faction ships in the area as to what just happened. - Suddenly a garbled call came through on the MANTIS secure line. :::Open channel::Freq.786DF::<unencrypted>::Message[begin]Req..st for im......ate extraction from unknown location, please confirm coordinates with positive ID__Agent: Star...iker, S.__Enemy un.... near..., discovery imminent, extraction urgent[end]Close channel:: Spacer Steve - That kind of sounded like Starstriker! He hasn't been heard from in several weeks after disappearing in Octan space. We all assumed he was dead when he ran out of vacation time. :::Open channel::Freq.786DF::<unencrypted>::Message[begin]Scorpio! Long time no see. Got your location, I'm headed there once I teach these Kawas a little lesson. Don't get yourself caught again, okay? -SpacerSteve[end]Close channel::: Spacer Steve - Chogg send a drop ship down to pick me up. It looks like we have to plan a rescue mission. Chogg- Chogg will be right there. Send Chogg your coordinates. More shots of the build: - - - - Comments and criticism welcome. I realize that the base plate turned out a little to small for the R.A.T. Track :)

    [K - C04] Tchalinko

K - C04, Exploration, science 3 month posting, they said, calibrating the antennas at Tchalinko. Well, it would have been a lot faster if I had the co-ordinates. The ship could go no further and I spent the last 2 months walking there. Still, it was great to see what was going on with the place. The antenna looked well and truly calibrated to me, and man was I happy to see the base engineer. Mister S had been busy. It was a real happening place. I was planning to have a real good time here.
