  1. CONCLUSION Li'l Capt. Redblade stands alone in the garden. "Are we still playing? I thought the game was over. Was I expected to play? What about voting? Am I expected to vote? Do you want me to interact with people? Should I try? What about reading the day thread? Are we supposed to read the day thread, and post? Why won't people just play for me? How is someone going to expect me to play myself? Just because I signed up, doesn't mean I actually wanted to play. Some people, sheesh." His griping just rubs the remaining five the wrong way. "You guys are all sheep! The way you work together, and oust the single remaining person who doesn't participate! Total sheep!" The crowd is having none of it. "Get a haircut, ya lousy bum," somebody, probably Li'l Nightshroud, yells. Then they start on the poundings. Punches, kicks, hair pulling, and a hard sacking or two. Li'l Capt. Redblade won't be walking away from this. Inside, Mr. def has a rousing compliment to pass along. "Congratulations, all of you, you have taken out the final scum! That's it! They're gone! You win!" "Yay!" "Furthermore, you all pass! Congratulations!" "Yay!" "Except for you, Li'l Zepher, you cheated on day one by clearing yourself with your PM role, you fail!" TOWN WINS! Nice job! Well-played, town! Here are the night actions: PLAYER FEEDBACK This is done alphabetically. And as always, the host is not privy to PMs, so I can't comment on that at all, and all this has to be taken with a grain of salt. If you worked hard, and I can't see it, you'll have to have that personal fortitude to not be offended. Li'l Boy Wonder- You had three big blunders in this game. The first was doing very little in thread. Since others were participating, it made you stick out. Second, you didn't try to recruit one night. I can imagine your frustration at not being successful the first few nights, but statistically it was the thing you had to do. One recruitment would have swung the game. Third, you didn't defend yourself at all. Those are all things to keep in mind in the future. The 'no defence' thing is basically just dropping out on your team. Li'l Callmepie - You did great. I'm sure you're tired of praise, but you were not a strong player two years back, and you definitely are now. Li'l Capt. Redblade - You dropped out of the game due to studying. I never had that sort of constant studying routine in school (maybe why I'm hosting mafia games for a living now ), but you let your team down, whatever the reason. Play, be active, and don't quit. That should be your motto in a game like this. Li'l Cecilie - You got Dave'd out of the game. One thing I can say, you didn't do the TrumpetKing thing and kill every night. If you had, town would have lost. So being prudent with your night action helped keep town alive. Your role in the wrong hands may have doomed town. Li'l Chrome Knight - I heard you did stuff in PMs. You were spotty in thread, but very active when you were on the chopping block, which was great! Li'l Cornelius Murdock - You weren't able to do much, but on the bright side, you're turning into the new Rick, dying as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you play scum some time. Li'l Danny Longlegs - You weren't around during or after the game Li'l Endgame - You did a solid job, especially after being brought into the masons. Li'l Fugazi - for whatever reason, you pinged a lot of people hard, but I don't know if it was on purpose or not. I don't know what to say. Li'l Hinckley - You did a great job sucking info out of people. It's amazing that even though these games are chosen at random, a handful of people just assume you're town. Li'l Kieldaman - I was really glad you played. You are an ideal vanilla player. Right or wrong, you are out there playing. No excuses. Li'l Nightshroud - You got a lot of commendations from your team. I think of you as a quieter player, and in this case it worked well. Li'l Palathadric - You were lynched for being scummy, and I don't know how much was on purpose. Hopefully it was partly because you were being active. Li'l Pandora - You got Dave'd as well. I think you did well in your strategy, but I think in thread you looked like a PR. If you were a little more out front, you may have looked more vanilla. It didn't have anything to do with why you were killed though. Li'l Peanuts - You were fairly active in thread after using your one-shot ability, but I'm surprised you didn't just claim it in thread. Li'l Pirate Dave - Yeah, you know what you did. It's one thing to blab your own secrets, but blabbing others is the worst! You kind of do wreck people's game. I was pissed for Hinck doing it to me in the Pearl. It really is a case by case thing, and sometimes it's good to blab, but in this game, all information should have been filtering into the Masons, and nothing going the other direction. Your name will become a verb for shafting other players by blabbing, so that should teach you. "Don't Dave me, man! You'll wreck my game!" Li'l Rick - You did a good job maintaining your normal attitude in thread. If someone compared your scum game to your town game, it would be hard to see a difference. With that in mind, I totally agreed with the questioning about why you were alive on day five. It's meta, but it's true. And also, you and Hinck always work so closely, so I thought the distance you were keeping looked scummy. But that was me knowing what was true. Li'l Scouty - You got shafted. There was little you could do. Li'l Trumpet King - you claimed scum in thread! Great! You shared your info with Hinck! Not great! You should have shared it with two people, at least, and not told the others who you told, but only that you told someone else. If you had done that, Hinck may have felt obligated to reveal what you told him about Boy Wonder in thread, to not be proven a liar. When you just share with one person like that, there is no obligation. Still, a decent, active day one. Li'l Walter Kovacs - You did really well for non-cleared townie. I had a similar situation in The Forest, where I was suspect for not being recruitable, and I told those guys, you need to be smarter than a single night result. Look at the play, not that one result. In that case, I failed, but you were successful here. Good job. And I appreciate you understanding every time I had to say no to you. For example, when you were blocked, you were still considered as targeting who you did. If you were to have been tracked the night you were blocked, the tracker would have gotten the results that you had targeted them. I don't mind clarifying rules and roles in PM at all, it's important for the host to clarify things as much as they can. Li'l Zepher - you did fine. You were safe the first 2-3 days because of that PM snafu, but after that, you were easily suspect as a recruit. You acted with the town block and kept you from having town waste PR actions on you.
  2. DAY EIGHT Li'l Rick just wants to get his swing on. As the crowd comes for him, they demand answers. "Why aren't you wearing your crown, pal? Too good to mayor?" Li'l Kiel asks. But Li'l Rick ain't gonna get played like that. "My hair, buddy, you wouldn't know, you wig-wearer. Nothing touches this bed-head." Li'l Kiel is having none of it though. "I ain't your buddy, pal. Time we taught you some manners." While some might call what they do to him manners, most people would call it barbaric. When left for dead, Li'l Rick is as unhappy as before. What was learned? Well, a frown turned upside down can often still look like a frown. In the classroom, Mr. def prepares to teach his ever-decreasing pupils. "Yes, yes, Li'l Rick was scum. He was scumming up this place. Three correct lynches out of seven? That's a pretty good record." As per usual, he is suddenly startled. "And the se~ six of you?! Didn't you do this yesterday? Don't you have the buddy system? Hold hands on the way inside. Where is Li'l Endgame?" He looks out yonder window. "Hark! What light doth break on Li'l Endgame's li'l corpse?" He continues to narrate: "Li'l Endgame is now deceased. Of course, he was town." He summons his strength. "Okay, once again, vote for mayor. You know the drill!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day eight has begun. You have just over 24 hours to elect a mayor, and then a further long, low-posting 48 hours to lynch someone. The Host Mr. def (def) - the teacher The Players Li'l Capt. Redblade (Capt. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to (knowingly) outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting will be done in the following format; Vote: Player. Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Player. No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the mayor will decide the lynch, through their vote, or by PM if necessary. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day. 2.5. A mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the game day one. Voting for the mayor will be done in the following format: Mayor: Player. Unvoting for the mayor will not be allowed. One may vote for themselves. In the case of a tie, the first person to achieve that number will win. In the case that the mayor loses their life, a new mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the following game day. The mayors single duty will be that of tiebreaker. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hour. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached after 72 hours. In the case of a unanimous vote, the day may end 24 hours early. After the day has been concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last 24 hours (or 48 hours if an emergency comes up). Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 20 hours of the night stage. 3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves. 4. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 5.5 Do not use the wording of the host to publicly back up your claims. Statements about the game made before the game started are fair game, but those made in game should not be considered either way in strategising. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. Do not spam the hosts's PM box. 11. Violation of the above rules may result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death upon further offense.
  3. DAY SEVEN "Kill him! KILL HIM!!" cries Mr. def. Li'l Boy Wonder musters up a blockbuster defence. "Guys, guys, wait! Have you considered, there's a chance that I may not be scum?" Someone replies, "no, since that's how someone would talk about someone else you were unsure about, not how you talk about yourself!" Li'l Boy Wonder stammers, "but I might be the bodyguard, that's plausible." "NOOO! That's what you describe it on the scumboard, not how you do so in thread! OMG!" They begin the pummeling. They all get kicks in, someone manages to sneak in a sock full of quarters, while others rely on the satisfying fist-on-face method. Unfortunately, someone took the opportunity to take out Li'l Pirate Dave in the meantime. "Oh dear," says Mr. def. "It seems the town 'leader' has been taken out." He approaches the fresh bodies. "As you all could tell, Li'l Boy Wonder was most definitely scum, while Pirate Dave was most definitely town." "Oh, and that reminds me, Li'l Rick, you are mayor, are you not? Where is your crown?" Li'l Rick replies, "I got it, but I just don't wanna muss up my hair." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day seven has begun. Voting will start in about 26 hours. 4. DAY SIX Li'l Hinckley talks to the daisies. "So, if I had to say top 3, I'd go, The Jesus Lizard, then Jesus & Mary Chain, and number one, Jesus Jones. If you've ever heard the live version of International Bright Young Thing, well, it's totally slammin" The flowers do not reply. The inevitable footsteps come. "Unanimous lynch! Unanimous lynch! Get him! Make him suffer!" The crowd manhandles Li'l Hinckley in a way he never has before. They jam his face into the flowerbed, choking him with dirt and snuffing his flame. Returning to the class room, Mr. def is in a slightly better mood. "You should be pleased, you managed to lynch scum! All eleven of you voted together, so it'll be pretty hard to read much into that vote, but, oh... wait, there are only 10 of you here. What goes on here?" Li'l Boy Wonder yells at the window, "Oh, the slide! The slide!" Li'l CallMePie, who had survived so well the day before, hadn't made it to day six. Amazing, in that time between killing Li'l Hinckley and walking into the classroom, someone had found the time to get themselves a slice of Li'l Pie. "Oh my, we have to have yet another vote for mayor. Get at it!" The Host Mr. def (def) - the teacher The Players Li'l Boy Wonder (Boy Wonder) - sleeps a lot Li'l Capt. Redblade (Capt. 5. DAY FIVE The school is quiet. "Where is that absent-minded little boy?" Mr. def swats his palm lightly with his bat. Li'l Pie pops in the room. "I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm.... Sir, sir, I'm sorry I'm late, I... wha, where is everyone?" "I have bad news for you. They're all dead. Every last one. You were mayor, correct? Well, the thing is, you were actually a special, secret role, called the reverse mayor. If you were targeted for death, you would win, and everyone else would lose. I couldn't tell you, since you would have gone out of your way to win by dying, and that wouldn't be fair, would it?" A pause for dramatic purposes. "Congratulations." Li'l Pie is taken aback. "Reverse mayor? What a stupid concept for a role. But it's a win, and a win's a win. I guess it's good, even though I betrayed my whole team in a way..." Mr. def calls him again. "You gullible twit. I would never allow such a foolish role in my game!" At that moment, the rest of the class bursts in. "APRIL FOOLS!" Li'l Pirate Dave clutches an afroed cranium. "And we brought that scum bum Oz-lander too! Scum bag!" Mr. def coughs. "Ah yes, he was town." Li'l Pie turns to the camera. "What the Hell is going on?" At that moment, Li'l Kiel scoots into the room. "Hey guys, look what I found! Li'l Pandy's head, just, you know, lying there." "Hey, do you think I could have her hair? I know a great use for it for an upcoming con. I wanna stickle my head in it." Mr. def sighs, "Yes, yes, it's fine. She won't be using it anymore, and it'll be a fitting tribute to yet another member of the town." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day five has started. 6. DAY FOUR Li'l Pally ain't so happy. "These guys suck! Jus' cuz I don' vote wit' da herd dey gonna vote me out." Despite his mad ninja skillz, he doesn't hear his angry peers sneaking up on him. "Hey piggie! Piggie piggie!" "C'mere Piggie! Gonna make you squeal! Take your pants off!" one of them yells, not revealed to protect their reputation (but it rhymes with schmendgame). "No, we jus' gonna kill him, none of that other stuff." Still, the first thing that happens is Li'l Pally's pants are torn off. Then the beats begin. Pounding, throbbing beats. The sound of the door opening makes the students nervous. "What's going on here?" Mr. def asks. Li'l Rick nervously stutters, "We, uh, we were just, uh, killing Li'l Pally, as per our lynch yesterday." "Very well. And where are the rest of our flock of students?" Li'l Boy Wonder calls out to Li'l Chrome Knight, "I got you baby, no worries, slide right down to me." Over at the garden, the trio of Li'l Pandora, Li'l Pirate Dave, and Li'l Zepher are about to water the pretty pretty flowers, when they see something that makes their civic conscience morals cringe. "Teacher! The mayor died again!" Gathering the students together, Mr. def goes over his morning lecture. "So, you lynched a Townie again, not that he even tried to pull an 'I'm a scum' sting. Maybe he assumed the scum have already united and didn't bother? Who knows. He's dead." He clears his throat, a side-effect of his pipe-smoking habit. "And the mayor, Li'l Cecilie was town too." "You may now vote for mayor. Any volunteers?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day four has started! 7. DAY THREE On the playground, the kids surround Li'l Scouty. "Yer scummy! Explain that!" Li'l Scouty is perplexed. "What? I answered every question you had, then you asked more. You asked me to nominate people, I did, then you called me erratic." He sighs a weary, Charlie Brown sigh. "I give up, and you call me a poor sport. So I defend myself, and you call it a scum flail. Screw you all. If I could punch you all in the sack right now, I would. I would like to punch each and every one of you square in the sack. Sack you all. My knuckles, smacking your li'l lima beans like a punching bag. Those li'l enflamed lima beans flapping like a flag in the wind. Back and forth, flippity floppity. The reverberation of fist on sack, echoing far off into the distance. Sackity sack sack sack. Pom! Pom pom pom! I can visualise it, as if the skin of my outer hand were colliding with your little green peas right now. Comic-like squiggly lines and stars emanating from your groins. Man, I'd jus--" The whole gang, except for Li'l Pally pile on the poor beaver. Li'l Pally explains, "Nah, I wouldn't feel good about this, I voted for Li'l Nightshroud." He turns and walks away from the distasteful gang on beaver action. "Ooooh...." The class comes inside for the morning bell. "Good morning class!" "Good morning Mr. def!" "Ah, now this is a more manageable class size. It's very hard to provide a good education with one teacher to 20 students." He looks them up and down. "Wait a moment! Let me do a headcount! If Li'l Scouty and Li'l Corny are dead, then there should be 17 of you, and I only see 16. Is one of you missing?" The students look around the room. "Sir, I think there's something under the table!" Li'l Hinck says, opening his pie hole. A small pool of blood has begun to congeal from under the table. The kids lift it up. "Gah!" moans Li'l Walty at the sight of the bloody Li'l Foog. Li'l Hinck comes closer to his body. "Sir, he's still breathing!" Li'l Foog breathily states his parting words... "Hey ... I know...he... who... k-killed m-me... ha...it was... Xeno's Thetans.... I will live... on..." Coughing blood, he sputters, "Sh-show me... the... moneeeeeeee..." With that, Li'l Foog's candle is snuffed. "Well, that is certainly an interesting way to start the day. And, before any of you speak, no, I'm quite sure Li'l Foogie was killed by one of you, and not by that new age sci-fi mumbo jumbo nonsense he was spouting when he died, so don't waste time theorising what it meant... Or do so if you need to, but it's a waste of time." "Oh, and congratulations on your Townie hat trick last night, you got three! Now, if you were the statistical type, that means there are now 16 of you. Of those, at least four are scum, and, should they have recruited perfectly, potentially six could be scum. Look around you, consider that well." "And of course, please vote to replace your deceased mayor." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day three has started. Again a little early. 8. DAY TWO It's a peaceful morning. All that remains of Li'l TrumpetKing is his gawdam hat, taking up space in the sandbox before the inevitable cats come to bury it up. In the classroom, Mr. def greets his students. "Good morning class!" "Good morning Mr. def!" He looks across his flock. "Well, Li'l Trumpy Trump was Town. 100% Town. How do we feel about that?" He pauses. "So, were you able to solve the game last night? Did you win? Is everybody here?" "Danny? Where is Li'l Danny and his uncomfortably long limbs? Li'l Danny? Where are you?" Li'l Corny jumps at the chance to answer the teacher's question. "He's out there, playing on the swings, sir!" In a manner of speaking, it could be said that Li'l DannyLonglegs was playing, but more accurately, it would be said that he was lifelessly dangling. "Oh. Very interesting. Very, very interesting." He peers off into the distance. "Well, you'll be interested to know his alignment. Would you like to know?" "Well, would you? C'mon, ask!" A few timid voices peep, "Was he Town, sir?" "NO! He was scum. Congratulations." He takes a moment. "Please do not forget to mercilessly taunt Li'l Peanuts today. It is the only way he'll learn." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The day has started a few hours early, but will end on time, 74 and a pinch hours from now. 9. It's a new day at the Blutziegel School for Special Learners. It's early morning, and the kids are giddy. Li'l Capt. Redblade, Li'l Walter Kovacs, Li'l Cecilie, Li'l Peanuts, and Li'l Trumpet King sit at the front of the class. Li’l Cecilie imparts knowledge on the li'l crew. “So then, like, the guy starts making these totally wacky faces, then, like, the music gets totally wacky, and he yells ‘Harlem Shake’ an’ everybody gets totally wacky. It was, like, so cool!” Li’l Peanuts nods his head in agreement. “Yeah, yeah, that sounds totally rad. I wanna check it out!” Li’l Cornelius Murdock starts running around the room. “Teacher’s coming! Teacher’s coming!” Mr. def steps in. “Good morning students! The chime's about to ring. Shouldn't you be in your seats?” Getting in position, the students greet their teacher, "Good morning, Mr. def!" Mr. def turns on the TV, reminding students where they left off. "Now, let's consider the case of the Eurobricks Mafia. Now, of course, it was a lackluster ending, what with the 'winners' merely being left in that squalid room... But there was little that could logically happen." He pauses. "Now, let’s consider the question of how to handle a mafia team that is divided in such a way. How should we handle night action results?" Li'l Big Cam raises his arms. "Mememe! ME!" Switching off the TV, Mr. def looks over the class. "Well? Somebody? Speak up! It's not like I'll belittle a wrong answer from you. Say your word!" Li'l Big Cam launches himself onto the table. "SIR! ME! I KNOW!" "Very well then, enlighten us." “Sir! It should be handled with prudence, sir!” He takes a breath. “Both to prevent outing town power roles, and to not give scum info to confirm each other with!” Mr. def looks on approvingly. “Yes, and I would add that it could be shared within a trusted town block, allowing a vigilante to take them out as well.” He takes a moment to consider how to proceed. “Alright, next question: who are the best candidates for the town masons to recruit?” Dannylonglegs shoots his hand up. “I know! It’s the veteran players with the best win record! They will be most valuable to their team confirmed!” Mr. def scowls. “I hadn’t asked you to answer. And wrong! The best choice are solid players in the middle of the pack! They are less likely to be taken out by scum in the early game days and are more likely to be of value to you. Unless scum consider this point, and decide to target them too, in which case, the best and worst players are the ideal choice.” Li’l Big Cam’s hand shoots up. “Sir, I need to go to the li’l boys room, like now! I gotta wild number two on the way” Mr. def “Very well, go. I remember what happened the last time I accused you of being the boy who cried wolf, and I don't want to need my classroom disinfected again.” Li’l Big Cam scoots out of the room with clenched buttocks. “As for our next question, are the scum better to try to recruit active players or really quiet vanilla-looking players?” The class is quiet. “Statistically, vanilla’s are still more likely to be recruitable, and less likely to be killed by scum. At the same time, they will be the ones town lynches when they have no choice, so—“ “Sweet sassy molassy! What was that?!” Mr. def makes a gesture. "Li'l Boy Wonder, go to the restroom and see what the disturbance was." Li'l Boy Wonder shuffles out the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A MINUTE PASSES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Li'l Boy Wonder returns, "Li’l Big Cam? His megablocks, it exploded.” The class gasps. “Is he okay?” Li'l Boy Wonder looks at him, “No, his megablocks exploded. He’s dead. And I fished this sticky note out of the debris.” Mr. def calls, “Li’l Boy Wonder, read that message for the class!” Li’l Boy Wonder squints to read, “Uh, it says, thega me is a foot! Whatever that means.” “Oh no, I’m afraid you’re mistaken, I am well sure it says, ‘The game is afoot!’ Well class, I think you know what this means: you’re playing. This is not a test. This is the real thing, and Li'l Big Cam's ruptured rectum is surely evidence of that. You must find which of you are the killers. One of you will be convicted at the end of the day. You may vote for mayor for the time being.” "Feel free to spend time on the playground and make your call. May the best team win!" And with that, the class wonders why their parents ever signed permission slips. 11. Yes, after a very brief break, it is back: What is it? See this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78833 I thought the last game was fairly balanced, and that the town were very close to turning it around. If they had had two more townies, the game would have lasted another day, and a lot of the scum would have been caught and things would have turned around. To a town win? Can't say. But, it was close. Still, I am not immune to player feedback, and have tweaked the mechanics. Originally, I was going to have this be 100% open about the roles, but I've decided against that, since it would hurt scums ability to lie. Rather, I will highlight the major changes to the last game, and you can decide if it seems balanced or not. If you have a suggestion to improve it before the game starts, I will take it into consideration, especially if other would-be players strongly support it. Roles will not be 100% the same, allowing flexibility. So, here is the game situation: -two scum teams, one who kill, one who recruit. They don't know each other, and can only unite through trust of each other (or Big Cam <But seriously, Big Cam, I expect you to play. You are my hosting mascot >) -town has to get the scum while not letting them unite, meaning hard claims in thread are difficult, but also that town should consider trying to infiltrate the scum. In the last game, scum did not unite until day five! That is plenty of time to do something. Here are the major changes: -I won't be able to delineate the kills at all and the SK will have to be a night kill, allowing all sides to megablocks better. It makes the night kills a little less fun (or presentation will have to be total decoration), but it will free up teams to scheme better. -the town will not have a cop. It will be replaced by a pair of masons, who can recruit only town to their masonry. One of the two may recruit each night, and if both die, town is out of luck, much as if the cop were to die. This is a big power to town, and to balance that, scum will have no godfather. Instead, both teams will have a recruitment blocker that will replace a frame, giving a certain amount of doubt to failed inductions. But town will have the flexibility to trust their own team among the masons. -that's a big power swing to the town, so the scum-recruitable players will be randomly distributed among the town, including power roles, preventing scum from simply targeting bored vanillas, but also giving them an ability to take out power roles. -I'm willing to fatten out the town to a total of 28 players, depending on sign ups. There will be between 26 and 28 players. Theme has been determined, but once again, I want you to sign up for the game, not the theme. Please sign up here if you would like to. Only people with mafia experience may apply. Please tell us: 1) Your mafia experience 2) If there is anything you would like changed about the rules before going in 3) Your opinion on pussyfooting
  12. Big Cam, high off of his Day Four railroading of Alopex confronts Shadows. "J'accuse, Shadows, J'ACCUSE!" Shadows chuckles. "Oh, why do you laugh? We have you surrounded." Shadows looks him in the eye and clearly explains, "You were all we needed to unite. You were such a townie, your claim cleared me to the scum!" Five figures walk up to the remaining townies. def and his menagerie watch on dispassionately as the newly empowered scum unite and behead their compatriots. "Bravo!" def says, slowly clapping. "You weren't as bold as I'd hoped, but you were effective, to be sure." As his mates leave on ahead of him, def bids farewell to the remaining players of his 'game.' "Good game!" Iamded cries at him, "Hey, where's that reward you promised?" JimB supports him, "Yeah, what do we get?" def squints a little. "Why, I didn't promise you anything. It was simply a game. You won. Congratulations!" And with that he exits, locking the door behind him. "Now what?" Nightshroud asks. Adam just looks at him. They wait. Tammo breaks the silence. "How do we get out of here?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scum win! I have to go to work in a bit, and won't be back for about 14 hours, so the photos and story will come then. No use making you wait and puzzle over things. Congratulations to the surviving scum team, the killers, Nightshroud and Shadows, and to the recruiters, JimB and iamded, as well as their recruitees, Tammo and Adam, and to the departed, badboy, Alopex, and Darthpotato. Thanks everyone for playing! List of actions:
  13. Day four ends, and def goes down to greet Alopex. "Aren't you going to send out some wacky character to wipe me out? What's this?" def clears his throat. "You can't be bothered to post or play, I can't be bothered to give you an interesting death. Puzzle over that in the afterlife." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Darth Potato has a late night rendezvous. "Really? You want me? You must have been really impressed with my playing. No worries, I've got you." "Wow, me, scum. How awesome. They must have really wanted me on their team!" He runs into another dark figure. "Who are you? Eh, no matter, I'm already on a team, sorry." The cloaked figure makes an ambiguous reply. "Kekeke." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scouty comforts that damn frog. "Don't worry, I won't vote you out. I was just joshin' everyone. Trust me, I love you." Scouty gets a little nervous. "I hate being in night pictures, it's such a trope." "Did somebody ask for a trope?" a mysterious figure asks, not comprehending what a trope is. "Requiescat in pace." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morning comes. def greets his tired captives. "Ohayo! I think you'll be intrigued by last night's results. More intrigued than I was by yesterday's day thread, at least Two pages on day four... two pages on day four. Is there any scenario where that is remotely interesting? I suppose the PM's are utterly compelling, and look forward to highlights when you're all done with this... Those that survive, at least." The crowd yawns, already bored. 15. Rick is checking the wall for loose bricks. "There's gotta be a way out. I'm always taken out by day two. I'm lucky to have lived this long!" A dark figure slides up behind him. "Can I help you with anything?" "Yeah, look for loose ~ wha? No!" The figure lays Rick down and slices his throat. He fires up his chainsaw, which strangely doesn't wake anyone else in the fortress. When he is finished, Dave is in pieces on the floor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later in the night, another figure approaches the scattered corpse of PirateDave. "What the heck? Now what am I supposed to do today?" The figure slinks off into the darkness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, Thomas has taken Hinckley to the basement. " I can still tend the rabbits, Thomas? I didn't mean no harm, Thomas." Thomas indulges him. "Yes, you can still tend the - chk chk - rabbits." 17. Feel free whitter away the night with some conversation here. Or don't. It's up to you.
  18. It's late at night and Capt. Redblade is out to drain the pretzel, as it were. "Geez, I really need to get this thing looked at. It simply can't be healthy." Zipping up, he turns and begins to make his way toward his spot on the cold floor, away from the bucket that has already started to stink. "You know what, as batshit nutty as this all is, I'm happy to be in company with all these big names. I'm going to have quite a good rep on EB when this is all over." Foot steps approach... "Oh, hai. I iz here to put you to sleep." Redblade tries to adjust his vision, since he had foolishly decided not to take off his sunglasses at night. A Cory Hart fan does as a Cory Hart fan must. "Who are you? I don't remember you from earlier." The skeletal face giggles. "Oh, don't you worry, this will only hurt for a minute." As the cloaked figure walks away, it chuckles, "See? You can't even feel it now! Ke ke ke!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A familiar face enters the room. "Good morning everyone. As you may have noticed, we are down a person. It seems someone has taken it upon themselves to remove Capt. Redblade from the room. I trust you won't miss him much." "Oh, and it seems that one of you has managed the solution to the question already. Very, very, very clever. Oh yes, I wouldn't want to be on this person's opposing team." "The answer is..." He pauses. The sound of wires twisting reverberates in the room. "What is that? Who is disturbing my announcement?" Suddenly, a chandelier plummets to the ground, landing on Cecilie and smooshing all of her vital organs. She mutters her last words, "I wanted to look like Hermione..." "Oh dear. Anyway, the answer to that question was... Psycho Killer!" "The winner will be off the table tonight. And that reminds me. There is a psycho killer among you. A rather unpleasant chap, if I do say so myself, so don't get put on their list, if you know what I'm saying." Def clears his throat. "I'm going to go back to my little room for a while. Later on today, a friend of mine will be dropping in. Please show him due respect, will you? In the meantime, I'm going to catch up on some Friends DVD sets that I got on sale recently. That Chandler is really underrated if you ask me. While I do that, please begin your vote for mayor." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The host def The players Shadows CallMePie Zepher Dannylonglegs DarkDragon Adam Tamamono JimButcher Hinckley Cornelius Murdock Scouty PirateDave84 Nightshroud99 Trumpetking67 badboytje88 iamded DarthPotato Flare Alopex Pandora Big Cam Rick TinyPiesRUs Dragonator The Deceased Capt. 19. Night Zero It begins in a dingy apartment in California. Hinckley prepares some sausages, as he checks Eurobricks every 30 seconds, waiting for his role PM for the untitled mafia game. "Where the heck is it? The last game has been over for over 24 hours!" He turns to the computer screen. "I just love Eurobricks so much!" "Eurobricks is like, totally awesome. I wanna get EB T-shirts printed up so people on the street know I run the place." He hits the refresh button again. "I wonder if a tattoo artist could get the stars right?" With all the noise of him talking to himself, he doesn't hear the foot steps creeping up from the floor behind him. The sound of the hammer connecting with his noggin is not unlike that of a coconut, and is satisfying to hear indeed. At that same time, around the world, the noggins of 25 other Eurobricks users feel the hammer as well. NEW ZEALAND ENGLAND HOLLAND ETC. ETC. Anyway, shortly enough, the selected folks find themselves waking up in a forbidding room. Groaning mildly, they pull themselves to their feet, and try to get acquainted with each other, though they are surprisingly familiar with each other. Cornelius Murdock takes in lean Jim Butcher. "Jimbee? Youze is a cop?" Butcher looks him up and down. "Um, I'm um, I guess so. Murdock, you're a... uh, I like your ribbon." Big Cam stares out the window, looking for any sign of the sea. "Yarrrr....." Iamded gravitates to Dragonator. "Hey Draggy! Want an apple? I got an apple if you want it. Do you want it?" Draggy gets pensive. "Uh, yeah, sure, thanks. Hey, where's Shadows? I gotta tell him my role." Cecilie, DarkDragon and Pandora gather in the corner. Cecilie looks around, "quite the sausage party we've been invited to. TinyPies' eyes perk up, "What? Sausages?" DarkDragon replies to her, "oh, there's one more lady over there, we should--" Pandora steps in. "That's Badboy." Shadows takes a step up to Tamamono. "Trying to emulate someone with those threads, kid?" Tammo stutters, "Uh, uh, yeah, you're Shadows, right?" Shadows mutters under his breath in a way audible to all, "This kid might be useful!" Zepher starts talking to nobody in particular. "Hey, it's me, Zepher. I'm nice. C'mon, somebody, talk to me." In the cavernous room, approaching footsteps are heard. The door on the balcony swings open, and a somewhat familiar face walks in. "Hello, you mother-loving dum dums... And by that, I mean you are dumb people who do in fact love your mothers." The crowd rolls their eyes in irritation. Various utterances litter the room... next he'll start the scum or dumb thing...how did he pay for the airfare?...Crikey, I need a toilet... "I apologize. That was unhostlike of me. After all, I didn't bring you here to insult you. I brought you here to kill you!" He laughs maniacally. "Mwah hah! Mwah ha hah! Bwah ha hahaha!" "Uwah ha hahahaha!" The camera pulls back a little. "Oh sorry, I forgot, the game has started. You'll all be getting your roles and allegiances shortly. This is night zero, so all with roles will have 24 hours to get their actions in, and voting will start as per usual on day one. May the best players win. 20. This is the sign up to the game after the current game, Heartlake Heartbreak. It will not begin until that game is over, and this sign-up page is so that I can get this game ready while on my vacation, and not a comment on the status of that game. As those of you who ‘know’ me here on the board, I like to do things my own particular way. There are lots of ziggers here, and I’m an uncompromising zagger, for better or worse. So, I’d like to do sign-ups for this game in my particular, zaggy way. It has been the custom of hosts here to try to allure you with a promising game theme, and then try to shock you with increasingly complicated twists and random roles. Well, I will do the opposite. I will propose to you the major twist of the game in advance, and should you agree to take part, you will hopefully be pleasantly surprised by the theme when it so appears. Allow me to break it down in an easy to understand FAQ. UNTITLED MAFIA GAME FAQ 1. Will it actually be called “Untitled Mafia Game” in a po-mo meta sort of style? No. Po-mo is so outré. 2. Is this game actually Bloodbrick III? No. Bloodbrick is retired until he is needed in the future. I will say that this will be a spiritual successor of sorts, with lots of mentalness, but no walruses. 3. What’s the gimmick? Good question! Here’s the situation. The scum will be broken down into two teams on the same side. One team of killers, and one team of recruiters. They will not know each other, and will at no point be confirmed by the host by any night actions. They will be able to recruit a higher number than average. 4. Hey, that’s no fair! The scum will totally outnumber the town! That’s not a question, but let me address it anyway. In the early days, scum will be likely to work against each other as they try to appear ‘town.’ The killers are likely to either kill a recruiter or one of the few recruitable players in their early blindness. Recruitable players will be a minority and if they are successfully recruited, subsequent actions are less likely to be successful. So, that balances out their number bonus, in my opinion. 5. Alright, but won’t they kick megablocks once they unite? Yeah, but that’s why it’s town’s job to not let them do that. On top of that, I will in no way confirm their allegiances until the game is won. Neither scum side will have any investigation ability that reveals the identity of the other side. Nobody wants to confess to being scum because it's too risky, and it will be all good townies job to infiltrate the scum trying to get to each other. If town is lazy, the scum will steam roll them anyway, but this game is quite winnable on both sides. 6. So will the scum try to appear town, while the town tries to appear scummy to lure scum out? This is not “the Departed” mafia, and I can’t say what people will do. I do hope scum will think twice about who they kill, since the players they are most afraid of being town could very well be on their team. Likewise, town will have to make some sorts of claims that they are scum, even if it could backfire and get themselves lynched. Both sides will need to reevaluate their strategies. 7. Are you going to megabluck any of it up? Of course, not on purpose, but lessons are always learned. Adding on to my own lessons from past games: Bloodbrick I no photographer role <okay> only one single neutral SK role <probably> Bloodbrick II don’t delineate kills that use neutral night actions (were something like that to appear)<okay> Hopefully the roles in this one are simple enough not to screw up. 8. Will you have any other gimmicky stuff in it? Yes. There will be some little surprises, but nothing that should be game-changing. Game-influencing would be a better term, but they will mainly be there to keep each day fresh. No hints or anything though. And there will be a nights thread so you folks don’t have to be quiet at any point if you don’t want to. 9. Anything else? Yeah, there will be a "night zero," meaning everyone with night actions will be able to send some in and hit the ground running on day one. We'll hit it fast and hard. 10. Should I sign up? Yeah, of course. The things I’d ask of you is to be active, and make gambits to win the game, and not merely be just along for the ride. Please sign up by stating so in this thread, and if you like, you can also brag about all your past experience too ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rules (deviations from the normal EB rules are struck-through) 1.
