    [ MOC ] Modular Disney Store

    The first shop along the main street of V City is a small one with a big name. The new Disney Store offers different products of its several franchises, including PIXAR and Star Wars. The client (of course I am making this up) wants a small modern building, but contains some essence of its brand. Undoubtedly the castle becomes the starting point for my design brainstorming session. My initial idea is a little box with a castle, and I began to break down the important elements from the castle to form the design language. I converted the moat into the planters by the sides of the entrance, and created a frame to signify a portal to the magical worlds. That can be seen from some castles where you will have a big portal at the bridge across the moat. The facade profile of the building comes from the two side towers above, and I only extracted the cut-corner shape. This slightly chamfered entrance also helps the portal stand out better. The building interior is simple, and is divided into several themes. First it is the Star Wars zone, where guests can find a lot of Star Wars toy and apparels. You can also design your own lightsaber at the “Build Your Own Lightsaber” shelf, and I made reference from the existing shops in Disneyland. Another side is the traditional Disney products, from traditional Disney stories. You can find girl items and dolls (you may ask about teddy bear, and yes Disney has one called Duffy and Shelliemay!), and also some cups and bottles. The deco is simple with wood planks, with the famous clock of Cinderella. Up the stairs will be 1/F, where you are greeted by the Toy Story shelf and the Lightyear figure. You can try the 3-eye Alien headpiece! Turning around is the much anticipated Frozen shelf, with all the icy items you can purchase! See that girl who is in love with the Snowgie cushions? You can also meet Elsa, Anna and Olaf and take pictures with them! Then you will see the little food corner, facing the staircase to the roof top. I spent quite some time to work out the fixtures, and I am happy that they look very much like the real thing inside Disneyland. The roof is a little green playground for kids, and you can meet the two iconic characters of Disney, Mickey and Minnie! Kids are queuing up to take great pictures with them, and later you will see even more other characters around the year. While I can design a simple hinged door on the rooftop, I created this version so that the panel can be folded up once more to avoid visual intrusion (if it is one big panel, it will stand up and be seen behind the tower on the front elevation! Not good!) Of course, I need a photo with my wife, Mickey and Minnie! Let's have a group photo, all the Disney characters with the shop! (okay, Buzz forgot to come out as he is still inside on the 1/F!) Hope you all enjoy it!

Atlantis: The Lost Empire is my favorite movie from Disney since a very long time ago, and I recently feel he need of building something from this movie... ...So let me introduce you the Sub Pod Sub Pod are fast small attack submarines. The crew is composed of one driver and one "gunner" , who fire the torpedoes and the harpoons. I try to recreate the shape of the submarine but I look more like a oval than a cylinder I put a LifeLites© orange brick to reproduce the orange light emitted by the inside of the canopy (sorry for the quality of this pic) If you have advice of suggestions, you'r the welcome ^^'

    [MOC] Mickey Mouse

    While searching for parts I came across a new part which is the 6x6 black dish with handle. A pair of these dishes instantly reminded me of Mickey Mouse ears. I just had to try and build Mickey and after about a month of leisurely building the design was finished. More pictures can be found on my Flickr. Mickey Mouse was build with 313 parts and is about 21cm high. As you can see from the pictures he is quite posable. Since Mickey is loved by many I decided to submit the design to LEGO Ideas.   12. Ever wonder what those little voices inside your head are? Meet Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, the emotions that guide you through your daily life! Riley is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old girl who, like all of us, is guided by her emotions. The emotions live inside the control center in Riley's mind dubbed Headquarters. This is also where all of Riley's memories are created and where her core memories are stored. From here, the emotions advise Riley through everyday life, led by Joy. But Riley's world turns upside-down when she is uprooted from her Midwestern life and she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness to the forefront. Will the emotions be able to get Riley through this challenging part of her life? You decide! About this Project: This is a Lego Ideas project that I designed using LDD, POV-Ray, and Photoshop. Based on Pixar's 15th hit animated movie, Inside Out, this playset depicts the inside of Headquarters. It includes minifigures of all five emotions and several key features of Headquarters such as the control console, the memory recall system, the core memories container, the tower, the memory shelves, and a couch with two footstools. Play Features: Take control of the situation with the control panel! Propose an idea to Riley by placing an idea lightbulb from the shelves at the base of the tower onto the stud on the console! Place core memories into the spinning core container! Recall memories by placing them on the translucent pole over the tube. But watch out! Don't let Sadness touch them! Roll the memories down the shelves! Turn the knobs at the back to redirect them to the next lower shelf! Take a break on the couch and rest your feet on the footstools! When Riley goes to sleep, have the emotions rest in the room at the top of the tower! Accessories include a flame piece for Anger (for when he gets really angry!), a notepad for Fear, a newspaper, a mug, and several memory orbs in the colors of each emotion.     [MOC] Disney CMF Mini-Vignettes

    I didn't pick up the entire Disney CMF line, or even most of it, but I couldn't resist snagging the minifigures from two of my favorite Disney movies: ALICE IN WONDERLAND and PETER PAN. My goal for these mini-vignettes was twofold: (a) showcase both minifigures in scenes evocative of their respective films, and (b) for each minifigure pair, take up a footprint no larger than two CMF bases (that is, 4x6). Here's what I came up with: Strictly speaking, of course, Alice did not have her bottle and cookie when she met the Cheshire Cat, and Neverland's Skull Rock was a lot larger -- but of course, I wasn't going for literal representations here. :) If anyone else has done Disney vignettes at this small scale, I'd love to see them!

One of my favourite Disney movies from my childhood was Atlantis: The Lost Empire, I loved the industrial machines and the cartoon art style which was like a comic book and enjoyed the story and its characters a great deal. Set in the early 1900’s, the film follows a young linguist named Milo Thatch who dreams of one day fulfilling his grandfather’s dream of finding the lost city of Atlantis. I recently decided to fulfil my childhood dream of designing a full range of sets based on the movie in the style of official LEGO sets, all in LDD. I have a total of 6 sets finished so far and will be posting them here one by one from smallest to biggest, I hope you enjoy them! 01. Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Shepherd's Journal The hero’s journey begins when he is approached by a mysterious woman called Helga Sinclair who introduces him to Preston Whitmore, a billionaire industrialist who knew his grandfather. In his office Milo is given the all-important artefact to begin the quest: The Shepard’s Journal, which includes maps and clues which only he can read which will guide an expedition to finding the lost city. This small set marks the beginning of the adventure featuring: - Preston B. Whitmore, Milo Thatch and Helga Sinclair minifigures - The Shepard’s Journal book - Printed tiles representing the portfolio papers of the expedition specialists and crew - A miniature model of the Ulysses, the massive submarine which the expedition begins the journey on - The fireplace, fish tank and a globe from the office as well as several small statues and other artefacts in Whitmore’s collection. The model contains approximately 105 pieces. 02. Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Sub Pod The expedition starts off aboard the Ulysses, a massive submarine, but is soon attacked by a gigantic mechanical sea monster known as the Leviathan. To defend itself the Ulysses deploys many small submarines called Sub-Pod’s which are armed with torpedoes to battle the monster. Features include: - Gaetan "Mole" Moliére and Vincenzo "Vinny" Santorini minifigures - 8 flick-fire torpedoes mounted on the two main fins of the pod which can also rotate - Opening cockpit which can fit both minifigures - Spinning propeller The model contains approximately 194 pieces.   19. Hello, all. I thought I'd share a creation of mine based on the Niceland Apartment from the Disney animated film, Wreck-it Ralph. This was made in LEGO Digital Designer and rendered with Bluerender. It consists of 2357 pieces, and can be taken apart for play on the bottom floor and the penthouse. The top floor features a multicolored dance floor, a DJ Booth, a potted plant, and a small stage with a green balloon on each side. The bottom floor features two crates to store ammo for a play feature, another potted plant, an abstract sculpture, a staircase, and the 30th anniversary cake. I also included three little catapults to put on top of the building, so Ralph can launch bricks at Felix to dodge. The set includes three minifigures: Wreck-it Ralph, Fix-it Felix, and Vanellope.     Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

    Hi, I have been working on a few additions to my Fairytale world that I posted in January. One of them is this Cottage that belonged to the 7 dwarves in Snow White. This is my first effort at a 'house/cottage' building and provided a few challenges. I based it on the Disney artwork of the cottage. There is not an interior to it, but I may put a room in it in the back for my daughter to play with. Thanks for looking, there are so many amazing creators out there who build incredible buildings and provide great inspiration and as I started working on this little project, I appreciated their skill an awful lot more.
