  1. This is a build inspired by someone else's MOC. Thanks for the great build, LegoLogical. The video of his build is a LOT nicer - I'm just riffing with my spare parts here. Although the Canto Bight story line from The Last Jedi surprisingly doesn't involve gambling - I'm sure TLG is going to give us a scene from this planet eventually. Likely the falthier escape instead of this casino. Once I saw this MOC I thought it was the perfect size for this location and I'm a big fan of having every film-centred location in Star Wars represented somewhere on the shelf. Although the story line's merit may be contestable - who doesn't love gambling aliens?? I should point out that this MOC was designed before TLJ Blu Ray's deleted scenes gave us a look at the facade of the casino, which has more wide, pronounced white pillars along the face of the structure and some groovy 1960's masonry. I think the build pairs pretty well with the Resistance Transport 75176, which by itself is kind of a blah display. Wanted to include as much of the casino floor as possible, tried to include the piano / bar / slot machine area, and kind of gave up trying to integrate both the casino and the bar. You see what I have here. At the moment, I'm only displaying the main square casino area on my shelf and I may junk the bar and move the colored glass directly behind my pathetic stand-in for the Master Codebreaker. (He's on a roll, you know.) If I come into a lot more spare parts that favor white, I may try and complete the build. Also, if we get do an official falthier escape set from Lego or perhaps some Canto Bight police speeders, I'll likely revisit the build. And please take a peek at what LegoLogical did - my build really doesn't do his justice. Thanks for looking.
  2. As I was sorting and replanning my brick stash (again) I got the idea to create a small Ludo game. The thought occured when I talked to friends about the fun of playing this childhood favourite again, but non of us had the game itself anymore. First I went online to check out TLGs official version and then what other people might have come up with. I knew I didn't want to built it to include minifigs. I thought I'd rather use the Brick, Round 1 x 1 for the pieces, but instead ended up using the Cone 1 x 1. I did of course consider TLGs own cute microfigs, but chosing the right ones kept dragging and their size seemed a little too dominant compared to the size of the game/the scale of the board. It would of course have greater appeal if it were to be an official LEGO game via LEGO Ideas. This version includes the addition of stars and globes, which are very common in the Danish version of the game.
  3. ~This quest is for chosen heroes only! If you wish to play, please herd over to the Rules and Discussion to learn how to do so! Thanks.~ The Party members, each at their own time found their way to the Albatross, a two story building of maple and oak, and pass through the small anteroom, passing by the fumbling clerk who tried to book them for room, to find themselves in the bar of the inn. Since it was midday, the building was relatively empty, with only two groups of patrons, and the ever-present Barkeep, still cleaning one of his cups with a piece of cloth. The Party recognised one group of Patrons as their benefactors. The Hinckwell employees were sharing stories as they emptied their glasses. The mustached Hinckwell was clearly fond of the alchohol, and apeared to be slightly inebriated dispite the early hour. His associate was speaking jocularly. The Hooded man spoke. "...So the other guy said, "it was the work of the mad wizard," and then I said... "I knew't!" The brown haired Hinckwell laughed boisterously. At the other table, two women (one rather man-like it attire and body-shape) seemed locked in discussion. "It's been fa' too long." Stated the bow-tied and vested woman in a pronounced 'Bronx' accent, a drink pressed against her lips. "Hold on." the woman stated, returning her attention to her drink. She shook it, her hand consumed by a ring of flame, and a the liquid began boilling. "I prefoir mine shaken and boint." She smiled, flashing an actor's grin at her associate. "So how's the mister, missus Lawrence?" She queried slyly with a wink. "It's not 'missus Lawrence.'" Stated the cloaked woman in black business attire with a cold, dissinterested, but boyish voice. The bowtied woman appeared shocked, but the sentiment was clearly exaggerated. "Miss Finch?" She questioned. "no." Stated the hooded figure. "Xanataci?" The woman wondered, actually surprised now. "Yes." "Your maiden name? My woid, what happened?" the incredulous woman queried. "We'll have time to discuss that later. Right now, I want to discuss a business proposal with you." The Hooded figure stated, her face cold.
