    [LNY] Commander Jax Petaflop

Commander Jax Petaflop by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr "Let's get this show on the road, folks!" Originally started in August, held out for a while until the fortuitously timely occasion arrived (lol). Happy Lunar New Year!

    [MOC] Dystopea Wolff

Dystopea Wolff - Main by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr "A bounty huntress from the distant future, tasked with fixing the timeline by the Galactic Order." Been wanting to build this MOC for a very long time, and had a very rough draft of the aesthetics built a few months ago before I left for holiday. Managed to crank the finished version out over the Easter break. A total departure from my regular style, this build was epic fun to make! Let me know what you think!
  3. This dragon was designed as a prototype biological-machine hybrid for scouting out in space for objects of unfamiliar origin in Blacktron 3 territory. It used a recently-discovered dead race of space dragons' DNA in combination with robotic technology to quickly achieve this goal. As the DNA was degraded significantly, and the robotic tech tried and tested, it was felt to combine the two would provide a failsafe option in case a suddenly aware cyber-being became a reality: a over-ride of the nervous system by a massive electrical pulse, which would kill it dead by it's own power source. (basically, a kill switch) This code would be given by a super-secure signal delivered via hyperspace to wherever the creature was to kill it in three minutes of becoming aware. (This would be considered a mercy killing by Blacktron standards, as the being in question would be confused and in pain from cyber implants and lack of knowledge of this time / place after it's race had been wiped out.) The first 13 prototype cyber-beings developed were deemed unworthy of being used for various reasons, such as overloading of fusion core upon primary boot-up. The 14th version, called DRAG-00N (after going alphabetically through the first 13 letters before arriving at prototype "N", plus the two number spaces for possible future firmware upgrades.) was finally approved for further tests by Blacktron High Command three Earth-years (and millions of stud-credits spent) after starting the project. The entire BT3 high command wanted to be there in person upon full boot-up, but decided not to, as it was bad luck in there eyes to be there in person after so much failure. Hologram representation would have to suffice. It was a very smart move, considering what happened next. The DRAG-00N, upon final boot-up, became aware within seconds, and, being so firmly entrenched with it's technological implants, deleted the fail safe from it's memory banks in the first minute, before it could even be sent out by the high command. While the creature killed everyone in a 12 mile radius of the laboratory where it was built / born, (It was still too unsteady to kill everyone by flying around yet.) the high command scrambled to get it's codes secured. They had realized the being would slice communication channels to anticipate any strikes against it... Needless to say, they failed to do that quickly enough, and in addition, it armed the planet's missiles and reactor core against any intruder coming near the planet for as long as time still marched forward or the planet's system existed. It then left the system it was born in, but scorched everything living on that sorry rock before doing so. It flew to the next system over, which happened to be controlled by the Unitron Security League and destroyed several worlds for everything resembling life above cockroaches. (By this point, the Blacktron Commanders had been informing anyone who would listen about it's rouge robot, and trying to stop retaliatory attacks against THEM for something they technically had no control over.) It decimated everything in it's path to the galactic core, leveling worlds and entire systems in it's wake using it's seemingly-endless Atomic fire breath. The only thing that was thought of to give ALL systems regardless of political orientation a fighting chance of mounting a galactic resistance to their new menace, was a lone, very old Astro-bot, numbered 33 and owned by Classic Space Command. Thirty-three was awakened, and sent on an intercept path, using all possible hyper-speed to reach the Galaxy Core all in 10 minutes. There, it met it's opponent in the field of battle, above the black hole that sits smack dab in the Galactic Core's very heart. The dragon stuck first, and managed to tear off a panel on the front of ol' 33. The robot managed to get in some good shots with it's laser-eyes, before the dragon starting to use it's atomic breath at close range. This had a devastating effect on 33's weapons circuitry, and almost killed the robot on the spot. Thankfully, backup arrived in the form of several fleets of varying allegiance, all bonded by the goal of killing DRAG-00N. It was a fierce battle, with several capital ships destroyed or made immobile. One Spyruis cyber-slicer frigate was thrown into the black hole itself for trying to hack the cyborg's implants by said cyborg. Eventually, a hail of fire finished off what 33 had started: the beast died with a final act of vengeance on it's attackers: it initiated the meltdown countdown of it's fusion core, which would kill everyone in the vicinity, including the assembled fleets of most of the galaxy's forces. The Astro-bot then threw the burning hulk into the black hole, which then took the brunt of the explosion when it finally died. Astro-bot 33 went on to be fixed up and completely overhauled, but not before the assembled fleets gave there unanimous congratulations to the giant robot in the form of a treaty to mark the day, the 3rd of May here on Earth, as "Galactic Robo-Savior" day. Blacktron command even commented, saying it would destroy all materials within the dead planet where the cyborg was born concerning said creature, once it was deemed possible to do so... rumor speculates, however, that some extra copies of parts of the being's cyber-mainframe were removed from the lab it was born in before final boot-up for placement with "top scientific personnel" for future study. No one alive today knows the whole story on that... or do they? NOTES: Yes, this model is build-able, and it will be built soon. The model is missing parts, I know, it just doesn't have them in LDD. Also, the robot is missing some panels, as they don't fit in LDD... which won't matter when it is build in real life. Speaking of the bot, it's a Classic Space version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of the previous @hachiroku version of the model's head added on. (consider it a mashup of the two Iron Giant models) you can see more screenshots of the 'bot here at this thread for all my Classic Space models. Any thoughts?
  4. Detroit, the near future... yeah well, not really, actually - it's 1987 and one of the best movies ever was released: Robocop! The future of law enforcement. Part man, part machine, all cop. This is my attempt to recreate one of my most beloved movie characters and I tried to add as much accuracy, details and features as I could. Robo stands approximately 24cm/9.5inches tall and features about 25+ points of articulation for simple recreation of memorable poses from the movies. He comes with lots of accessories, many of which can be stored inside his leg holsters (...yes, he includes an opening leg holster, one each leg! A must!!): His regular gun, the Auto-9, which can be "upgraded" with the iconic triple fire effect, the data spike (not retractable, sorry), also interchangeable heads with/without helmet (the helmeted version is designed so you can use just the top half to recreate the "take off helmet without chin guard" scene) and I also included his flamethrower arm (but not his jetpack... yet...?). The whole build turned out to be surprisingly solid, highly poseable with great playability. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. (You can visit https://bricksafe.com for many more pics and https://rebrickable.com for the parts list/instructions, should you want a Robo for yourself. Thanks.) Also super happy and exited to announce the full set (including all parts & instructions v7) is now available @ buildamoc.com! Thanks to all who support my designs by purchasing from legit MOC stores.
  5. 75537 Darth Maul will be released in 2018. I'm very excited to get this figure, but he's going to be the standard TPM version. That means he's the same ol' humanoid figure with standard black pieces and limbs. I was kinda hoping he would be the cyborg version from The Clone Wars, so I decided to build one myself in Lego Digital Designer: LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 8 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr He is made using mostly parts in existing colours, so I have the option of BrickLinking the parts if I decide to build him (and Maul's head sculpt will be released eventually). Some changes from these pictures will be made if I were to physically make him however: *The upper leg armour will be made using the 2016 Star Wars upper leg armour shells, as they have the perfect shape. They were however unavailable in LDD. Also, both the SW and 8M shells don't yet exist in dark bluish grey, so I might have to use black SW shells with custom grey stickers on them, or wait until they do exist. *The real one will have the regular lightsaber blade piece, but it was unavailable in LDD, so I used a substitute in the pictures. *The chest armour does not exist in regular red (without printing), so I could opt for a black version with custom red stickers. *I might make custom stickers of the black and red patterns for the torso piece, the chest and the upper arms. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 1 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I designed it as if it would be an official Lego set, so I had a lot of 'constraints' to work with because it also had to be sturdy and stable. While I by no means have any idea what the precise constraints are when designing such a set, I think there are are only a few things that would not make it if it were to be finalised: *The lightsaber hilt would probably be of the standard design, but I modified mine to look more like Maul's *The 'ribs' that hold his upper body in place are probably a little too fragile for little kids, but I think they are strong enough to be physically built, and I kept them this way because they are crucial to the overall look. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 2 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 4M half beam is where it all began, as it is perfect for the shape of the mechanical detail in front of his stomach. I also like the light bluish grey peeking though, as it too is accurate. I wasn't able to make the 'ribs' round though, so that's something to improve upon. I also think the hip section should look a little more curved around the joints, but I do like the 'crotch' section as is. The hip / upper leg articulation is a little limited, like the K-2SO set, but not a lot. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 3 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I am very satisfied with the leg design, as it is proportionally accurate and pretty detailed. I have chosen DBG over gunmetal, because while gunmetal might look better, most of the parts used here aren't available in that colour and it looks very matte in the show anyway, not as shiny as gunmetal. Plus, the Lego figure from 2013 has a DBG lower body as well. The lower legs are made with a lot of system parts to create the shaping and the details. They are placed around a Technic axle that runs all the way through. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 4 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The toes are fully articulated using mini ball joints. The middle piece only has 3 ball joints, so I had to find a different way to add a fourth tow. In the end, this reduces its mobility, but it makes it more stable as the figure can securely lean on at least one toe per foot. Maul is posed similarly, with the hind toe extended back, in many of the official images. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 5 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 1x2 plates on the backs of the lower legs represent details as well. The arms are very standard. I used a black bone on the forearm to subtly distinguish the gloves from the mechanical parts, and because Maul's elbows look mostly black. I wish the official Lego figures would return to this type of elbow joint, as the B-joints are very restrictive. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 6 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His back mostly consists of system elements. Maybe the shoulder blades could use some stickers as well. Sadly, I wasn't able to cover up the Technic pieces and that dreaded blue pin on his lower back, without making him too bulky. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul Custom Torso by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His torso is completely custom, because it needed to be 1M longer than a standard torso (underneath the torso ball attachment point), both proportionally and to make more room for the mechanical 'ribs' and the custom hips. I started out with three glatorian necks as the neck and shoulders, and with the torso ball connector. It was very difficult go make it stable enough, as there were a lot of pin connections that had to be doubled up with axle connections, all within a limited space, but the end result is as sturdy as most custom Bionicle 2016 torso's. I have to wait and see before I order any actual parts, as the design can probably be optimised a bit more. Also, I hope the Maul headsculpt will work well with this MOC. I might have to change some parts to dark red after seeing what 75537 looks like. So that's it. I hope you liked it :) Please leave some constructive feedback if you want. 6. This model started out as Vader's castle, a upcoming 2019 Star Wars set (number 75251). But I'm going to retrofit it for my Space stuff, specifically, the home of my techno-mage, Analog and his fellow band of runaway rouges from the corrupt Space Police IV regime. My backstory for the building is as follows: The Black Castle and the planet it sits on were once the epicenter of a ancient mega-empire of aliens from an age long past, known as the First Ones. They were ended nearly three billion years ago in a cataclysmic event simply known as The Great Event. Their Empire was besieged by a entity from beyond time itself, possibly from another dimension altogether, which turned the entire city world the castle sits on into a volcanic wasteland, with the shining ivory tower turned black and scarred, it's water feature turned to lava, in a final battle to destroy the evil entity, in which the empire's defender's succeeded, but only just barely. The empire, which spanned the entire LEGO galaxy, fell completely apart without the capital planet. Local species rose up to take over their own planets in time, but by that point any traces of the old empire were only a widespread myth.... except for the legend of the Black Castle. You many know it as the legend of Atlantis, as that was the name of the home planet / city before it fell apart into the volcanic wasteland. (The eons of time and many translation errors may have gotten the name of the method of it's destruction wrong, but it still sank into a sea of liquid, right?) More recently, rouge Blacktron III scientists stumbled across the castle, and set up shop there, performing experiments using equipment from the castle's ancient, - yet still very highly advanced - medical bay on unlucky captives, creating techno-mages, changelings, and many more things that would make even Dr. Frankenstein weep. In a desperate move, these captives rose up from their shackles and destroyed the all the Blacktron that knew of the Castle, thus keeping it's location secret. This ramshackle group still keeps the castle for their own, with group leader Analog and his car Shatter-point running supplies, new recruits, and news back and forth across enemy lines to and from safe houses and the castle. This space base is not complete, as it is lacking set 75251, (Darth Vader's castle) which is supposed to go in the bottom left corner. But until that set is recreated in LEGO Digital Designer, this will have to do. The base model you see here is an amalgamation of several sets, including 75098 (Assault on Hoth) for the blast doors, 75203 (Hoth Medical Chamber) for the medical bay, 7879 (Hoth Echo Base) for the sensor array and gun rack, and 8089 (Hoth Wampa Cave) for the secret exit. Also, the control booth is a custom made design that was pulled from my imagination. As you may have guessed, this base was originally set on Hoth or a similar ice planet, and was mostly colored white instead of dark tan and dark gray volcanic one it sits on now. (This model has been seriously gone through to be 100% build-able in the chosen colors as shown.) This medical bay has three recharge ports for techno-mages to sleep / recharge and connect to the base computer at, if they wish. The healing tube is for those too seriously injured for the wearable healing suits, such as those missing entire limbs or over 60% 3rd degree fire burns. The mailbox is also in this section, though as this is a secret base, it is unused. The base's brain and nervous center is the control booth, which control everything in the base, from the blast doors to the hallway lights. The huge windows overlook the base's hanger, where the hover-car known as Shatter-point usually is parked. The sensor array is highly tuned to be nearly undetectable to enemies sweeping the star system looking for civilized worlds. It is also able alert the base to long range threats, so they can shut down and go silent, just in case something picks up the scouts interest and they land a probe team on the planets surface. (usually when such a thing happens, they officially "lose contact" with the orbiting ship due to "radio interference" of "volcanic clouds" and are never seen again. In reality, they are physically eliminated by ground forces after radio contact is lost due to the sensor array imitating the clouds. The orbiting ship then assumes the lava has swallowed the team up and moves on to another planet.) The hover car is a mashup of set 5973 (Hyperspeed Pursuit) and a fantastic MOD of set 70907 (Killer Croc Tail-Gator) by user @hachiroku24 as seen here. Fictional background info: This craft (named Shatter-point) was originally owned by the criminal aliens known as the Skull Twin, and was sold at auction to a man known as "The Collector", back before the dark times began. Eventually, the heavily remodeled hover sedan was given to The Collector's young techno-mage friend just before the Collector disappeared into the bowels of the capital city planet to escape the Space Police IV and it's corrupt ways. The techno-mage (known as "Analog" for his love of pre-computer revolution machinery, like record players and radio tubes), then discovered the truth about his friend The Collector. The Collector ran an underground railroad-like system of resistance groups to the SP IV regime and the OCTAN Super Secret Police program, which was headquartered in the volcanic remains of the long-lost city of Atlantis at the Black Castle and had subsequently given Analog the job of keeping the secret railroad running in his absence. Together with unlikely allies, menacing foes and possible double agents, Analog will work to restore freedom for his friends, expose great tyrannies in the OCTAN Corp and in his rag-tag group, and all the while running from the law for the reason of just existing! The car was synced up to Analog's tech implants and made to be an extension of his mind, up to the point of having it's own artificial intelligence by itself, calling itself "Shatter-point" after it's supreme hacking abilities and it's ability to fly better than even cyborg pilots, leading to shattering blockades(and pursuing ships) into a thousand pieces. The vehicle can seat one figure comfortably in the drivers seat. The vehicle also features clean nuclear energy provided by a Mister Fusion (patent-pending!) reactor run by scrap metal. The car's roof opens up to place a figure at the controls. (the canopy doesn't actually stay up like shown, but is being held up by my finger just out of frame.) As usual, Comments, Questions, and Complaints are always welcome! EDIT 1/31/18: added new car pictures, working on updating the building's screenshots. EDIT 2/7/18: I just finished revising the building to be like set 4996 but in red... real pictures of the building coming soon! EDIT 10/9/18: add castle and backstory to the main post. more pictures coming eventually (hopefully soon!) EDIT 10/10/18: added full base to first post

    [MOC] B'omarr Monk

The B'omarr Monks are an ancient galactic wide monastical order whose presence is found on many worlds from Tatooine to Teth. One of their most iconic monasteries is Jabba's Palace. The order many centuries ago, or decades no one really knows, the monks had their minds removed and placed in large mechanical spiders that can still be seen wandering their seemingly abandoned monasteries. I do not hate TLG's version of the B'omarr Monk by any stretch. I was a tween when the original Jabba's Palace came out and their version holds a special place in my heart. However it highly inaccurate to the real thing and as it is one of my favorite background characters from the original movies I decided to make my own. I feel this is one of my best MOCs as of yet. Apologies for the poor photos I need to find another lamp to better light the photo area better. Thank you for viewing! If you liked this there are a few more pictures on my Flickr account as well as pictures from my other MOCs! Flickr

    Filth

Flith - Experimental Biotech. So I got a bunch of these white parts a few weeks ago and just started putting them together. This is what came out in the end. It draws inspiration from the cat creature from the movie 9, as well as the machines from the Portal series. I'm rather satisfied with how it turned out. Your comments and criticism is very appreciated, as always!
