[MOC] BMW LMR '99 - 1/15 Scale

TLDR: Super-detailed fully-modularized Creator-scale 16-wide MOC build of beautiful 1999 Le Mans-winning FIA LMP prototype. 903 pieces (including 3 round-plates-with-strings, 6 whips, and 8 “non-Lego” custom wheel parts). 1/15.2 scale: 16 stud wide, 38 stud long, 23 stud wheelbase Winner - with a bit of luck - of an exceptionally rough and tumble 1999 Le Mans in the hands of Joachim Winkelhock, Pierluigi Martini, and Yannick Dalmas. The LMR was the second iteration of BMW’s LMP car, designed and constructed by BMW with Williams F1, powered by a development of the BMW S70 V12 which the McLaren F1 had used to win Le Mans a few years prior. Longtime BMW racing partner Schnitzer Motorsport ran the team at Le Mans proper as well as in the American Le Mans series. The low and sleek car looked like a ufo compared to the competition. The LMR has a fairly simple and compact shape, but it’s not a brick… the subtle lines are quite refined and put up a challenge to capture smoothly in Lego. The entire nose build is a circus of surfaces all at slightly different angles, their mountings dotted here and there in precise positions over the tub structure. The roll-hoop and engine hump cowlings are jammed full of more angles and curves. The rear fenders tumble and taper back to those extremely compact multi-directional-snotted wing mount and taillight assemblies. The sidepods look simple but are full of some connections voodoo for their multi-hinged lower surfaces. The car's so slim there's really nowhere to hide much supporting structure. Wheel inserts and brake discs are designed in Cinema4d and fit into the back axle tubes of Lego's Icons wheel #42716. The spoke shape, offset and hub proportions were refined through a sequence of paper prototypes to dial in their scale, then the final design was high-resolution SLA resin printed and sprayed with Tamiya TS38 gunmetal (as are the backs of the Lego wheels). Graphics are a mix of printed stickers and cut vinyl. It's not quite perfect: the indigo color-shift blue vinyl turned out a bit too dark - needs a much larger surface area and strong light to really sparkle - and those delicate air-flow pinstripes need to be metallic on transparent substrate so the different white materials aren’t as noticeable. The open cockpit captures various details; Pi/BMW M digital dash, switches panel, electronics boxes all carefully studied, drawn in Illustrator, and shrunk down to scale. (I forgot to do the Emergency markings, so these are swiped from a 1/24 model and comically small) The rear bodywork is a large single assembly that lifts off, revealing that glorious V12. The rear wing and trailing edge of the bodywork (with those complex little taillights) is cantilevered off the end of the transmission. The intake airbox assembly lifts off to reveal 12 intake trumpets, the oil tank and engine ancillaries. Getting the radiators attach at angles flush with the wing plates on the ends of the sidepods was a triumph of Lego maths... A few stickers for the radiator faces and the cam covers provide some texture. The sidepods, splitter, and engine drivetrain are all separate from the tub following the construction and design typical of these cars; the bare chassis of these masterpieces of design and packaging is one my favorite views… The tub itself has a raised footbox with a rounded 'boat prow' profile which helped to channel airflow from the upswept nose underside out through the open sidepods. The remaining flat floor continues back to under the rear axle where the shallow diffuser tunnel kicks up. Hi everyone! After a brief 'dark age' spanning a few years, I've now designed and built a new cargo train locomotive. I wanted something that exudes a sense of 'heavy industry' and initially created a prototype that didn't quite meet my expectations (see image bellow). This model takes inspiration from both the Lego Creator Maersk train, incorporating most of its general structure, and the Polish SM31 shunter locomotives. The locomotive showcases a sleek, black exterior accented with yellow and white details. Because of the primary color, I affectionately named it the "Coffin" locomotive, akin to the real-life SM31's nickname (Trumna). The locomotive closely resembles parts of the the distinctive SM31 train, and the cabin is designed for a minifigure operator, complete with a control panel. Additionally, it's equipped with Power Functions, including a battery box, a train motor, and an IR receiver. Before settling on the black color scheme, I explored various digital iterations, considering options like yellow, red, blue, and green. Ultimately, I chose black for its cost-effectiveness, leveraging parts I already owned.However, it did result in the photos having slightly lower quality due to the darkness of black. Please take note: Although the digital model featured a light bluish-grey windscreen piece, I discovered that no such part exists in that color when I started building it. I sourced the piece from a custom vendor, and it's not an official Lego component. In the future, I plan to replace it with an original Lego piece in white, which is readily available.

This is Assembly Square 10255 but slightly reduced to the scale of micro figur. Micro Assembly Square is my newest MOC but my first micro scale construction. I added as much detail as I could into the build. I think this is the most cheerful set of all high street sets. Nice shops with many play options. Not only did I make the building in micro format, but I also reduced the interior and street details to micro format so that you can really play with it again on a small scala.

Dodge Viper - 10265 c-model I made my first attempt to the Viper before building the Hummer. I wanted to use the white stripes offered by the 10265 set. I must admit that the Viper is one of the most iconic cars that use these painting. The problem is that it has an extremely slim silhouette, and the Mustang parts are much more suitable for the construction of an angular body. The final model is the result of 5 approaches. On the fourth, I had the model almost finished and all I had to do was construct a rear diffuser out of the scraps. It was not without a slight remodeling of the rear bumper, which left me with a few additional parts, which I knew would be very useful in the front. This way I demolished half of the car and it was a good decision. Thanks to this, the model has definitely gained stability. There are a few delicate details, but there is no risk that any of them falling off when you grab onto any part of the vehicle. The fairly low profile of the whole and the desire to reproduce the engine dummy in a decent way, eliminated the possibility of installing a torsion axle, which takes up so much space on this scale that it would have a negative impact on the appearance. According to Promobricks, the new Fairground Collection set will be 10303: Loop Coaster, a giant roller coaster with a double looping and track segment elevator consisting of 3 coaster wagons that run on yellow bright light orange track. Also included are a hot dog stand, a pretzel stand, a clown with bike-stand selling balloons, a bench for minifigures to rest on and an amusement park plan. [MOD] 10269 Harley Davidson Fatboy Remote Controlled

Full RC Conversion of 10269 Harley Davidson Fatboy After many hours of trial and error, broken bits and gray hair I have finally a working Remote Controlled Harley. And it actually works wery well and are not more fragile than the orginal set. My goal was to create a slower motorbike that you can play with in your living room, so self balancing was not an option as this requires high speed to work. My bike runs on "training wheels" all the time that leans at the same time as the handlebar stears. Have tried my best to hide the electronics an keep it as close looking as possible to the orginal set. Motorized wtih Buwizz/CaDa battery to save space and Power Functions motors. With the year end only a couple of months away, it is time to look towards 2022 for some of the new sets that will be launching once spring rolls around. According to a multiple sources, the next vehicle to get the LEGO Creator Expert treatment will be none other than the quintessential scooter brand, The Vespa! From what we gather, it would not be a current model but the classic one without the side mirrors. It is rumored to be given a mint green paint job and will come with brick built accessories like helmets, flower, a newspaper tile and a bag. It is pegged to be €99.99 but the piece count has not been confirmed yet. The launch date is slated for February which means we should see some official images at the turn of the new year. Hello, Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, I'm only familiar with the technic forum. I wanted to ask, would 10295 ultimately be available from retailers? I live in the Caribbean and have to order my lego from Amazon US, but I've noticed that 10295 is yet to appear for sale there. Is it that it would only be a lego store exclusive? The US lego site won't ship to me. If anyone can advise me I'd be most grateful. Sorry for being a bit off topic. -
Here it is! Refinished and redone, with a couple of added bits and bobs, the Mountain Oracle! Ascend the steps of her mountain sanctuary, and just maybe she'll speak to you of the future. This is a MOC I created a while back, I've made some upgrades since the first version. The fountain down in front, as one, as well as that waterfall coming out of the mountain. And a second partial tools up on the hillside to the right. And yes, that staircase is a lot more sturdy than you'd think. It's supported from underneath the platform landing as well as by several clear supports that are hidden behind the staircase itself. This is the original MOC, that's been improved. (Putting this together rather hastily) There has been very brief mention in the Creator thread of a new 18+ Titanic model for 2021, rumours having been leaked in the last 24 hours. Considering that the last ship LEGO made in an expert style was the Maersk one, which I missed, I'm particularly excited about this one. Thanks to @VanIslandLego for this one. No other info is known. I was just on the 'Everything we know so far' page for 2021, which I check regularly, and realised that despite I having known about both these sets for at least a month, I've seen almost no discussion of them Eurobricks. If there has been, can a mod please merge or delete this post. Just for the details: 10280 Flower Bouquet 756 pieces US$49.99 / EUR49.99 / £44.99 10281 Bonsai 878 pieces US$49.99 / EUR49.99 / £44.99 These are the first two unbranded small 18+ sets. The PPP seems pretty good. 10281 is listed on Brickset now, but with no info. 10280 is not. Interestingly, 10281 has been put under 'Sculptures' - the fourth in this category, after Statue of Liberty, LEGO Minifigure, and LEGO Dragon (all released 20 years previously). Both sets are scheduled for release January 2021. A leaked image of the Bonsai was posted on Instagram today, probably resulting in Brickset adding it to their inventory. What do you think of these sets? Is the small size a good thing? Do you see many more being released in the future? If so, what? Discuss below.

Hello Everyone, I'm new to Eurobricks, so let me present my first ever LEGO car design, which is a 1:13 scale model of the iconic Land Rover Series II 88" from 1958. The design was made using Studio 2.0. Originally I wanted to build this car in an authentic Land Rover colour (LEGO colours sand blue/green or dark red/green), but many parts are unavailable, and therefore this remains a dream. Luckily, all parts are available in red, and therefore the model can be built. The model fits in the Creator Expert car series. It consists of 1477 parts, the doors and the hood can be opened. I designed some custom decals (front grill and dashboard) to capture some characteristic features of the car. Most of the chassis is built in an unusual way, which made possible to build a smooth curved lower edge. The canvas holding frame is easily removable, and you can find a simple engine under the hood. -
After my 2 pick-up alternates, I returned to set 10265 twice more but this time to create 2 vehicles heavily inspired by iconic and classic sportscars from the 1960's in which Ford also played a key role, the GT40 and the Shelby Cobra which both fit perfectly with the 1967 Mustang. First the GT40 famous for winning Lemans. The GT40 was first built in England, but the later version in the US. GT04 open by Nathanael Kuipers, on Flickr Next is the Cobra Roadster, also a car that originated in the UK, but which Shelby with the help of Ford imported to the US. There it was equipped with a much larger engine that also required other changes to the chassis and suspension. Welcome to the Jackal Staff Oasis! Deep within the sands of a long lost desert, the glittering oasis beckons. Rising amongst magnificent date palms and tranquil, lotus-covered pools, is a fabulous temple containing the vast treasures of the surrounding kingdoms. Young Amata has been sent to retrieve the fabled, powerful Jackal Staff contained within this lush paradise, to bring back to her kingdom in need. I built this MOC digitally about a year and a half ago, with the intention of using it as a contest entry, but then ended up not using it. Later, I revived the design and built it in physical bricks. The model has 1522 bricks total, and measures 12" long, 15.6" wide, and 8.9" high. My favorite part about the whole build is the garden in the front with the water features and the palm trees. A close second would have to be the columns for sure! I'm back with a revised (and instruction-ized) version of Florence Cathedral (Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore) I originally created back in 2017, but never posted on EB. The original model was built with real bricks in Florence Cathedral Museum thanks to the great team of Toscanabricks LEGO fan group, excited by the digital pics of the model I showed on an Italian LEGO forum. I finally managed to make instructions for it and I modified the domes (both Brunelleschi's and the three twins above the apses) with the newly released 1x2 rounded plates. I included a pic of the original model displayed at Museo dell'Opera del Duomo at the bottom of the gallery (photo not by me). Hope you like it!! (great photo by Claudio Giovannini)

I built 2 pickup alternates from Creator Expert sets. The first one is from the 10265 Mustang set, and to keep within the theme and time period I decided to go for a Ford F100 from 1970. The model includes steering by HoG, opening bonnet, doors and tailgate, a detailed interior and engine. Once done I thought why not try to build a pickup model from the 10252 Volkswagen Beetle too? So that's just what I did with this vintage American pickup truck somewhere from the 1930's. It has similar features as the 10265 alternate except for the steering function, which was not possible. I'm glad to introduce Boulevard des Lumières, my very first big 'Moc'! I started this project in march 2015 and abandoned it a few months later due to professional and family reasons. Then I restarted it again last September and finished it now in January 2020. The idea was to create a building inspired in the Haussmann style present in most of central Paris, without any piece count limit that would keep the modular compatibility and the minifig scale. So this is not a direct replica of any particular one. The street name is also fictional, there is no 'Boulevard des Lumières' in Paris, but its spirit is highly Parisian. I’ve been wondering for a while what on earth Creator Expert 10269 is going to be, and as I could find barely anything about it, I thought this thread would be the way to find out more. 10269 (Vehicle D2C Set) is described on Brickset simply as that, with absolutely nothing else to tell us what it is. Does anybody know anything about it at all, apart from ‘vehicle’ and ‘creator expert’? It could be a train, a car (though unlikely as the Ford Mustang has just been released), a plane, a ship, a shuttle or something completely new. The only thing I can possibly think of is an Emerald Night 10th anniversary rerelease, though I can’t see why they would do that. Please share your thoughts on this set below. I noticed recently that there's been no topic for future landmark buildings (mods please merge/delete if I'm wrong) so I thought I'd better make one. There have been 6 landmark building sets made by TLG so far: 3450 Statue of Liberty (2000) 10181 Eiffel Tower (2007) 10189 Taj Mahal (2008) 10214 Tower Bridge (2010) 10234 Sydney Opera House (2013) 10253 Big Ben (2016) The Statue of Liberty is technically not part of this line but of the 'Sculptures' line that also includes 3723 LEGO Mini-Figure and 3724 LEGO Dragon, but I have included it here as the only Creator Expert set not officially of the 'Buildings' line that is a building known worldwide. The Taj Mahal was rereleased in 2018 as 10256. But the big question is.... what next? The building has to be something that can be sold and recognised globally, and would be a very large set (the smallest so far is the Statue of Liberty with 2882 pieces). It would also probably need to be something of architectural interest - not just a big glass skyscraper (the Burj Khalifa falls into this category). Towers are possible, but as the last one was a tower, I think it's unlikely. 10253 also had a large extension to the side which made it far more interesting. If you ignore the Taj Mahal entirely (or at least the rerelease) there have been buildings in 2007, 10, 13, and 16, so it would make sense to have one in 2019. The Taj Mahal rerelease is now the only one available, as Big Ben and Tower Bridge have both just been retired from LEGO’s range. It would therefore make sense to have one this year, with no others available apart from the Taj Mahal. So what is it? Share your thoughts in the comments below - but please no 'I want' or similar.

Hi everyone I'd like to present my latest MOC, a new modular building called Bricks & Blooms. I hope you like it. Bricks & Blooms is a modular Garden Centre built over 3 levels on a 32 x 32 base plate. in total it uses 2587 bricks. The facade is supposed to give the impression of being 2 buildings side by side but it is of course just one single building. The front to back measurement of the building is quite narrow, similar to Parisian restaurant. This is because I wanted to maintain plenty of space at the rear of the building for the main outside garden centre / plant sale area. THE MINIFIGURES I've included 6 mini figs and a cat with this MOC. Left to right they are: 2 customers (a father and his daughter), The garden centre shop keeper and gardener, the chef and the Aquatics shop assistant. THE GARDEN CENTRE AND GROUND LEVEL DETAILS The main garden centre area of the store is situated on the ground level. Outside on the street, I've included a tree, bench and lots of plants and flowers for sale. The garden centre also has a fruit and veg stall that sells it's produce directly to passers by on the street. Inside the shop I've included the cashier desk and more plants and gardening tools for sale including a little lawn mower side-build. Here is the interior of the fruit and veg stall that is accessed through a door at the back of the cashier desk. A door at the back of the shop leads out in to the main outdoor gardening area. Here I've included a large glass canopy covering rows of tables holding bedding plants. There are also more flowers, pots and other gardening products including a water feature. The stairs at the back of the building lead up to level 2. LEVEL 2 - CAFE/RESTAURANT No garden centre would be complete without its own cafe/restaurant. The cafe on level 2 has a fully equipped kitchen with serving desk and tables and chairs for the minifigs. There is also a small balcony in the cafe that looks out on to the street below. LEVEL 3 - AQUATICS Many garden centres here in the UK also have departments that specialise in pet fish and Aquatics. Bricks & Blooms is no exception and has it's own dedicated Aquatics section on level 3. The Cat below seems to have its eye on the goldfish. Detective's Office, Brick Bank and Tower Bridge retiring soon?

After a long time collecting other themes and being on the sidelines on most of the creator expert sets, I have now been bitten by the modular and large landmarks bug. I realise that the tower bridge - 10214 has been around super long and could easily retire without any notice. The same could apply to Detective's office 10246 and Brick Bank 10251. I have been monitoring the prices, but they are all much higher than the 1 year low point. The 6 month lows represent a £108 discount over RRP and a £62 discount after accounting for the 10% cash back. If the price doesn't drop further and shop at home don't drop prices or offer any more double/triple VIP points offers before retirement, I would have lost £23 (half of the current 10% cash back). Would you recommend that I take advantage of the current 10% VIP points/cashback? Or do you think there's a chance of a better price drop at Lego or one of the online retailers before the sets retire?
