  1. Here's my addition for the Winter Village Market... a holiday-themed miniature golf course. (A favorite mini-figure past time) This miniature golf course is extra-mini! Just three holes! The first hole requires some careful angling around a couple of presents. For the second, shoot for a hole-in-one through the base of the Christmas tree. And the last hole aim for the door of the gingerbread house at the top of the ramp. Thanks for looking!
  2. Hi! I would like to present you my entry for the winter village contest. This is just on ordinary Christmas stand - it offers mulled wine, bread, fruits, beer, pretzels and all kinds of "Christmas food". I tried to build it as close as possible to the style of the sets produced by LEGO, although I think the booth is slightly larger in scale. Here you can see more pics. Hope you like it and good luck to everyone!
  3. Here is my entry for Expand the Winter Village Contest IV: Christmas ornaments stall. In every Christmas market, should be a stall selling Christmas ornaments, I think ; I take inspiration from the Christmas markets of South Tyrol, Austria und Bavaria. C& are always welcome and Enjoy!

    Winter Village: Ski Rental Shop

With all of the snow that falls around the Winter Village an ambitious entrepreneur, Frank, decided it was the perfect opportunity to open a local ski rental shop. It looks like construction finished just in time for the winter season. DSC_0373 by smathews521, on Flickr Frank greets his very first customers. It is Julie and her son David. David sure does look excited. DSC_0369 by smathews521, on Flickr David looks like he is ready to go while Mom is taking her time getting ready. First time skiing? Maybe she is nervous. DSC_0375 by smathews521, on Flickr As we open up the shop we can see Frank trying to keep warm by drinking hot chocolate by the wood burning stove. Looks like he was preparing for the cold winters when he designed the building. Frank is fully stocked with kids skis, adult skis, poles, and helmets. DSC_0379 by smathews521, on Flickr During his down time Frank keeps himself busy by chopping wood. Hopefully it will be a long winter and he will need a lot of firewood to keep warm. DSC_0383 by smathews521, on Flickr Thanks for looking at my submission.
  5. Time for a little taste of Canada in the winter village market. The trees have been tapped and the sap is a-boil. Visit the maple syrup stand for a selection of delicious treats; perhaps a sample of maple sugar candy for the little ones or buy a bottle of syrup to take home... a plate of hot pancakes and Canadian bacon doused in syrup might just hit the spot... It's also nice to warm up by the fire and watch as the tree sap transforms into sweet syrup. (A light brick lights up the fire, as well as the small stove inside.) One final look at the maple syrup stand: Thanks for having a peek at my entry, comments and critiques are always welcome. Good luck to everyone entering, there's lots of great Winter Village Market MOCs so far, and I'm sure many more to come . (Edit: MOC has been modified so that it now follows the contest requirements) (Edit2: I swapped the first and last images, 'cause I think the last one was a bit better for the voting thread - but I realize that I might be too late changing them - if that's the case, I'm cool with that)

    Winter Village: Food stall

Hi Everyone! This is my entry for the Expand the Winter Village Contest IV. When i see the theme, 'expand upon the theme of the Winter Village Market', the first thing that came to my mind is food. So i work on having more food/drink stall to add into the Winter market. My Food stall is a four sided stall, and each side is selling either food or drink (Beers, how can one miss it in a winter market )And to add more playability, i have make it that it can be open up and have all the stalls to be seen. This is an overall view of my food stall; A quick introduction of the stalls On the left is a pretzel stall selling tasty pretzels, and on the right is a macaroons stall selling colorful and sweet macaroons On the left is a sausage stall selling yummy Bratwurst sausage, and the right is a beer stall selling varieties of beer And this is the back view of the stall when open up Hope you guys like it :) And Merry Christmas! More pictures of the stall and how it is open up can be found at my flickr photosteam

    Winter Village: Snowy Owl Beer

I've been to two Christmas markets this year (one in Toronto and one in Chicago), and beer stalls were quite popular at both of them. Here's my Lego version of a German beer stall. Inside the stall is a cash register and four barrels of beer, two of which are tapped. Next to the stall is a small area where people can drink and take a bit of shelter from the snow. Merry Christmas!
  8. Hi! Here's my entry to this year's Expand the Winter Village Contest, the Kissing Booth. Hope you like it! Manning the booth is hard work, so the girls are taking turns, and keeping warm by the fire between shifts. More images on flickr. Thanks for looking. C&C welcome!

  10. My entry for the Winter Village IV Contest: "Theatre in the Park!" While shopping at the winter village, why not stay and watch a bit of legitimate theatre? UPDATED 12/16: Added more pictures of the vignette. Main View Stage Park/Bench Area Thanks for viewing my entry! LegoWookie, on Flickr
  11. Hi This is my entry for Rebrickable alternate contest. Model is alternate for set 42004. I do not own that set so the rims on engines are black instead of yellow. All other parts colors are correct. Assault helicopter features: Rotating main rotor (via gear under the fuselage) 2 turbo-jet engines for extreme speed 1 heavy cannon on the front 2 SS 10 anti-tank missiles on sides of the fuselage Seat for pilot two seats in cabin for passengers/shooters Building instructions here. Photos: Hi-quality photos by Jim, later this page, here. LDD screenshot: Hope you like it. LDD-file here
  12. my first ever entry to a contest. My first 'normal Lego' build too. I usually build Technic. This is a small church or chapel. It is build entirely from leftovers and pieces from the wintersets: 10216, 10235 and polybags "fall" and "decorating the tree" Only the base is from another box. Welll... probably not the best, but well I thought I might give it a try..
  13. I present to you my entry for the Expand the Winter Village Contest IV (2013): Kodak moment with Santa. Since this years set was a market with a carousel offering lots of fun for children, Santa decided to visit and give the children a chance to get their picture taken with him, his holiday helpers and his trustworthy sleigh. Word got out and quite a crowd turned up. Just the vignette: Showing the details on the left for a better view of what is under the tree: Back and right side of the sleigh (updated, see post below): Overview without the minifigures: I had a blast planning and building this and gave me a great way to apply all the new building techniques I learned this year after getting out of my dark ages. The (somewhat rough) LDD version I used to plan everything can be downloaded here. As you might notice it is not quite up to date and as complete as the photographs. Feel free to use it to build your own version. C&C is appreciate. Edited, typo's (sled for kids, sleigh for Santa?) Update: The above linked LDD is quite a mess so I decided to make some manuals using Kristel's excellent guide. First up is the christmas tree. I added yellow plates to make it more clear how the branches should be placed on the axle. Please replace them with green plates when building the tree. If you have suggestions for improving the manual do not hesitate to contact me. And here is the sleigh. Both manuals are free to use. If used a photograph is appreciated. Update: Replaced first image with a picture including a waiting line. Update removed "right view" because it did not show anything extra and replaced it with the view without the minifigures. Update: It is great to see that there are people who appreciate my first try at a vignette and take some time to express it by leaving a comment. Thanks again!
  14. Here is the tiger's entry in this year's contest and since it had to be something that would fit a market place so I chose my best pitch. Fusing a farm day stand and a village market stall to come up with this. So what do we have in the picture, a crate of ear protectors, a barrel of shovels, a display of other farm gear.....chain saw rack too. The boss has his laptop with him to take orders from local farmers for gear they need on the farm and now with winter the new snow blower (which was a bit tricky to build). Thanks for looking everyone. Of course being Christmas, a few pretty lights and some bells too

  17. Pimp My Camper Contest Winners are Announced! Thank you to everyone who entered and voted making this a spectacular contest. There were a total of 177 fantastic eligible entries, and the quality of the MOCs and the imagination involved went far beyond what we expected. Well done to everyone! Of course, there have to be winners. These were decided by popular vote by the existing EB member base in a manner in keeping with previous Eurobricks contests; however, allowing multiple entries per member is (I believe) a first for EB and I hope you'll agree has been successful. Avell Castle

Built for this year's Mini Castle Contest. Finally got me a cause to build microscale, and finally the contest returned. Once again it makes me realise that microscale is what I like building the most, no doubt about it. The contest's scale was game-fig, but I took the liberty of making my own miniminifigures instead. For some reason I don't really like the look of game figs, so it was a fine challenge to think of something new. Flickr Brickshelf (full gallery) Enjoy!
