  1. I did this MOC 2 or 3 days ago... It was midnight and I was supposed to do an entirely different MOC out of bricks separator but somehow I ended up with this after a few minutes. Then the rest of the idea was just a breeze. I don't want to spoil everything for you. There is a story behind it why I name this MOC "P.I.C.I.T."... also, there are 2 more images in my Flickr album so go ahead and check it out. Gonna catch 'em all Pinching Action!

    [MOC] Disney CMF Mini-Vignettes

I didn't pick up the entire Disney CMF line, or even most of it, but I couldn't resist snagging the minifigures from two of my favorite Disney movies: ALICE IN WONDERLAND and PETER PAN. My goal for these mini-vignettes was twofold: (a) showcase both minifigures in scenes evocative of their respective films, and (b) for each minifigure pair, take up a footprint no larger than two CMF bases (that is, 4x6). Here's what I came up with: Strictly speaking, of course, Alice did not have her bottle and cookie when she met the Cheshire Cat, and Neverland's Skull Rock was a lot larger -- but of course, I wasn't going for literal representations here. :) If anyone else has done Disney vignettes at this small scale, I'd love to see them!
  3. Hello everyone, *Waving hands* It's me and I am back to conduct the latest poll and survey for the upcoming brand new exciting LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 wave in our Eurobricks Community. The current official LEGO 71001, Collectable Minifigures Series 10 design being shown in this discussion, and there are much information being surfaced in the public so far, I believed this is the right time for us to share your thoughts on the new Series 10, especially Series 10 is very very close to its official release date. If you wish to change your vote after you acquire the entire Series 10 after April/May 2013 or any point, you may choose to do so, as the current poll settings allow you to withdraw your votes by choosing other choices instead. For the past official Eurobricks polls with regards to LEGO Collectables Minifigures Series 1, Series 2, Series 3, Series 4, Series 5 and Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, Series 9 they can be found in the following links below. 4. Some mostly non-purist MOCs based on the Series 16 Collectable Minifigures (CMFs) with a few thematically appropriate guest figs. Below: a couple of S3 and S16 enhanced superheroes. Questions, comments, confusion?
  5. Some people display the collectable minifigures as sold, and I genuinely think that's cool. But I prefer to MOC (or should that be mod?) my minifigures. Here are MOC Series 16 minifigures with a few thematically appropriate friends: Questions and (positive) comments welcome. Have you MOCed your collectable Series 16 minifigures? If so, let's see 'em!

    MOC Spooky House

It was a dark and stormy night... What could be more perfect for Halloween. The Collectible Minifigure Monsters need a home. Enter their haunted house, a four level structure (with elements inspired by the Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion) that fits with other modular builds on a 32x32 base plate. The floor can be removed and two panels on either side of the two fireplaces are hinged to allow easier access to the interior. hhback by Karen Metz, on Flickr hh2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhside2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhside1 by Karen Metz, on Flickr More to follow. GOINGS ON IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE The Monster Scientist is hard at work creating new creatures à la “Island of Dr. Moreau” in his subterranean lab. In the processing chamber is his latest creation, the Fly Monster. The Tiger Woman, one of the scientist’s first endeavors, is overseeing the transformation. Meanwhile, the giant Hagrid assists the Monster Rocker by touching up the creature’s green complexion. The lab opens to a large greenhouse where Seymore, an extra large venus flytrap with an appetite for more than bugs, and his best friends from the “Little Shop of Horrors” including the Plant Monster await unsuspecting guests. Square Foot is outside ready to harvest the latest crop of pumpkins that are guarded not too successfully by the Scarecrow. hhgreenhouse by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhlab2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhlab1 by Karen Metz, on Flickr The Zombie Pirate captain, sword at the ready, greats trick or treaters at the main entrance to the house. Three halloween revelers, a costumed Hippie dad and his two children dressed as the Skeleton Guy and an unconvincing witch, anxiously descend the steep stairs from the house happy to escape with their lives. The iconic stretching paintings from Disney’s Haunted Mansion grace either wall of the main hall behind the captain. A chesterfield facing an old grandfather clock make a cozy “unliving” room. The captain’s zombie pals, the Cheerleader and Businessman, relax at the kitchen table and discuss news items the latest edition of the Zombie Times. They appear not to be interested in their brain sandwich at the moment. Also in the kitchen is the Wacky Witch who is brewing an unappetizing potion simmering in a cauldron in the kitchen’s fireplace. To the right of the main entrance is the music room and library. The Spider Lady is about to sit down a play her favorite music piece “This is Halloween” on the piano or perhaps she may change her mind and decide to sit by the second fireplace and read a horror novel from the library. hhmainfloor by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhkitchen by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhlivingroom by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhpiano by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhzombies by Karen Metz, on Flickr Going up either set of spiral staircases leads to the main bedroom of the haunted house. Wednesday, aka the Spooky Girl, carrying her favorite teddy bear enters the main bedroom which contains a bed where the witches cat has decided to take a nap, a dresser, lamp, and old style radio. Her father, The Count, is resting in his coffin off to the side. To the rear of the bedroom is a closed door that opens onto a bloody bathroom scene (inspired by B Rick’s Horror bathroom). The evil side of Mr. Good and Evil has truly come out on this haunted eve. A poor unsuspecting trick or treater has been exsanguinated in the bathtub by Mr. Evil and reawakens to the horror of his new undead state. On either size of the bedroom and bathroom are storage rooms. The storage room on the right can be entered through the picture of the Fat Lady. A lonely spirit ghost stares longingly at all that remains of his earthly self, that being his skull which watches over the room since the valuables of the house are stored in the safe and chest located here. The Wolf Guy, in his wolf man state rather than his more unassuming guise as the Lumberjack, stares out the front dormer window salivating over the easy pickings of trick or treaters on the streets below. If only he weren’t trapped in this room with the sleeping vampire guarding the exit. hhbedroom by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhbedroom2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhbathroom1 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhchimney by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhopenside1 by Karen Metz, on Flickr hhopenside2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr On the rooftop level, the ominous figure of the Specter watches the scene below. A naughty Monster is locked in one of the attic spaces. Over looking the rear of the house the Banshee wails for her long lost love as the Gargoyle enjoys spinning around as the hours pass. A owl peers at the black decorative owls that adorn the roof line. hhroof by Karen Metz, on Flickr Hope you enjoy my haunted house.

  8. Hi everyone! I finally got around to taking some new photos of my CMF stand. I adore CMFs and they are actually the reason I got back into LEGO as an adult, following a chance purchase of a single series 4 pack whilst out shopping (Kimono Girl, you have a special place in my heart). As LEGO fans, we must all have more Minifigures than we know what to do with, so I'm curious as to what everyone else does with theirs? For me, I started simply enough with a single-tiered stand that just grew and grew with each new series. The stand is currently 55cm high, 37cm deep and it is 54.5cm wide. I have made several modifications to the design as the stand has evolved. Once it became too big and heavy to move easily, I broke it down and made it modular. It currently is made up of THREE modular pieces: - 1) Series 1 - 5 2) Series 6 - 11 3) The 'raiser' The 'Raiser' has seven jumper plates on top, which are used to hold series 6-11 in place. Series 1-5 then neatly slides up against the front of the 'raiser' to give the illusion of one large stand but allows me to move it easily for dusting and display purposes. The back of all the three modules features 1x2 Technic bricks with holes, so when a new series comes out, I can just 'bolt on' a new tier with Technic pins. This saves me from having to take the whole thing apart and rebuild for each new tier. The name plates are made by putting custom stickers onto 1x4 white tiles. The 'series' tiles are a little more complicated in terms of sticker design but follow the same principle as the name plates and are put onto 2x2 white tiles. The custom stickers are simply designed in Microsoft Word and then printed onto clear adhesive/sticker paper (it comes in A4 sheets) via my office printer, cut to size and applied to LEGO tiles. One of the things that this stand allows me to do is to add some dynamic posing for those characters that imply movement or that are an unusual size, or that have accessories that would look better in use. For example: - The Sky Diver looks fine standing straight up, but he looks even better when in free-fall! Medusa's tail is so long that I had to make a hole to allow it to poke out the back. I would be especially interested to hear how people who frame and hang their Minifigures have handled Medusa. Adding a Hinge Brick (a.k.a. Rocker Plate) allowed me to angle the Snowboarders and Surfers and let them not only ride their boards, but do it at dynamic angles. This is much more preferable than standing them straight up with their board held in their hand (framed Minifigures again). Putting the Ice Skates on Series 4's Hockey Player and Ice Skater means that they can no longer attach to a plate. I got around this by putting a Technic half-pin into the back of their legs to hold them in place over a tile. The Technic pin goes onto a 'tap' and the 'tap' attaches to the stand. So there it is. Series 12 is looming and soon this stand will have one more tier. I do not have room for many more tiers, so I am quite pleased that LEGO have slowed down with the release of these CMFs. I have custom display stands for the LEGO Movie Minifigures and also for Team GB, so look for them on here soon. I'm currently working on a Simpsons display stand but am only at a very early design stage in LDD. How do you display your Minifigures? I'd love to know. Thanks for looking! CMF Survey

I know similar messages have been posted in the past, but I thought I would do a slight variation: Out of the CMFs that you own, which is your favourite . . . Male minifigure: Female minifigure: Licensed minifigure: Additionally: What is your least favourite CMF that you own? What CMF do you want the most? What S16 CMF are you most looking forward to? Any honourable mentions?

    [MOC] Skater Vignette

Due to a more relaxed atmosphere during holidays, I was able to bust out my LEGO collection after almost a year of inactivity. While current MOCs are not presentation-ready, I've been meaning to share some of my old vignettes. Hereby presenting Grinding Skater Vignette, with CMF Skater Boy doing his favourite railing grind trick. C&Cs welcome!
  18. Hello everyone! Another December is approaching, which is the time of those little surprises popping out from the windows of an advent calendar. This year I mixed it with my favorite theme: The Collectable Minifigures! Imagine the well-known and most popular minifigs with a twist: wearing festive outfits, or just something that is more suitable in wintertime. Be prepared, the fun starts in two days!
  19. I'm in need of money, so other than sets (mainly classic sets, see here) I'm also looking to sell off some of my minifigures, including some of my more valuable ones. The reason I called this topic "Potentially For Sale" is because whether I sell a figure or not depends on whether I receive an offer for it that I deem to be good enough. So if you're interested in one or more of these figures, shoot me a PM including an offer. Here's what I'm considering selling: - Blue Coat Bilbo (Rare promotional bright blue market attire) (new condition, only ever put on display in its original plastic case) - LOTR Pippin (Like new*) - LOTR Samwise Gamgee (*) - The Hobbit Legolas Greenleaf (Available quantity: 3) (*) - CMF Spartan (Comes with accessoires if requested so) (*) - DC Superheroes Lex Luthor in Green Power Armour (*) - Fantasy Era Castle Black Dragon (Good to great condition, needs re-assembly once a deal has been made) - Fantasy Era Castle Sand Green Troll (Great condition, horns are currently missing) - Fantasy Era Castle Dark Tan Troll (Great condition, horns are curently missing) Shoot me a PM along with an offer if you're interested so we can work out a deal. I am located in The Netherlands, and I prefer to do deals within Europe, but am willing to negotiate possible deals internationally as well.

    [MOC] Dark Ritual

The Old Cemetery laid forgotten in the Dark Forest for many years. Time has left its traces and the graves and paths are now slendered with weeds and plants. Only the Black Altar was not touched by anything alive. Nobody thought of the darkness and evil that once spread from this place and may do so again in a not so distant future ... Liliana grabbed her Greater Glass Staff of Malediction and her Frozen Grimoire and blazed her trail towards the Old Cemetery. Her cat followed her every step. Once she arrived at the Old Cemetery, she headed to the Black Altar. "Just the same as when I left you back then" she whispered. She placed the Frozen Grimoire on the black stone and began the Dark Ritual by speaking the magic words: For the evil one should fear It's the menace that comes near To take vengeance on those who despise Come out my precious beast and rise! For a short moment, silence covered the place. Did it work? Has evil finally returned? Is it alive? Is it dead? Neither. The Dark Ritual has been accomplished.

    Good BL for CMF?

I lost most of my LEGO collection in a tornado. Thankfully, I am able to replace it. I have had a difficult time finding all of the CMFs that I owned. Is there a BL seller that sells a lot of CMFs from series 2-10? I had quite a few from those series and it would be nice to replace them all (or most of them), with one seller, instead of getting each one separately. I would like them to be in very good condition or sealed. Thank you for your help!
  25. I have a brand new, still sealed, guaranteed 100% accurate Simpsons series 1 set that I'd like to trade for a series 2 set (open/complete is OK). No longer interested.
