Hi everyone! I have been a member on these forums for around 10 years now, but have mostly been viewing the forums, so haven't posted any creations of my own until this one. Just wanted to start off by saying hi and briefly introducing myself. My name is Daniel, I'm also known as CommanderR here on Eurobricks and PieceOnEarth over on LEGO Ideas. I am currently studying engineering at university and I'm also a musician and Lego fan. Fusing my two passions of music and Lego together, I had this idea of building a Lego orchestra! A few weeks ago, I finished the model design (using LDD) and I am happy to share it here with you all! Welcome to the Symphony Orchestra! My focus was designing a model that I believe would fit will with the normal Lego set scale. With that in mind, I knew I needed to skim down a 60-instrument orchestra to around 15-20 minifigures. I tried to add as many details as possible, resulting in some printing for the sheet music. Can you guess what song they are playing? One of my visions for the model was that it would have the ability to be customized easily to suit the purpose of any show. The orchestra needs a place to store their instruments, warm up and relax. Welcome backstage! I love classical music and wanted to decorate the lounge room with some paintings, so those of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven seemed like a perfect fit! This lounge is where the musicians can relax and grab a refreshing drink. I built Munich's Glyptothek (ancient sculpture museum) in Bricklink Studio. Easter eggs include the ability to easily remove the roofs of the side wings to reveal the sculptures within! You can find my other builds on Instagram: @BenBuildsLego

OK, at this point, a small series of sets covering the Ancient World is essentially inevitable... All the molds have already been made, and it is just a matter of time now... So here is an ambitious new attempt to make a series of sets through Cuusoo. I designed a series of 8 of them, ranging all the way from $30 to $300, including different sets for Greece, Rome, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, Stonehenge, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and the Nexus of Bifrost. Please have a look, I'd love to hear everyone's feedback, and then you can come to vote on all of them for free at LEGO Cuusoo! And I will incorporate everyone's suggestions as soon as I can! Hello all. I've finally completed my last build of the year with Kahuka's Koffee. A building influenced predominantly by neo-classical architecture. It has taken about 3 months to complete. I've wanted to try my hand at more varied styles of architecture. It's been 4 years since I last had a go at a classical style. The problem I find with this style is that it tends to be all one or very few colours and it makes picking out details more difficult so I've opted to vary the colours of floors and put highlights in where I could. I wanted to include a rounded roof mainly to finally use the PAB cup full of 1x4 slopes in black I got a while back. I also was keen to incorporate balconies and many arches - common in classical architecture. There is an interior but only for the ground level floor (Said here in the UK), but I've not chosen to build upper floors as it would take too long and frankly I just didn't have enough plates to build another 5 floors If you're wondering why it's called Kahuka's Koffee, there is a subtle hint of the Islanders theme in the facade. I've included a slightly updated version of my streamlined delivery van which I made some years ago to give some busyness feeling to the street. This project, presented on Lego Ideas, comprises a classical symphonic orchestra on an out-door stage. The orchestra comprises the director, 9 violin playing minifigs (3 violin 1, 3 violin 2, 3 alto), 3 cello playing minifig, 2 contrabasso playing minifig, 1 piano player, 1 drummer, 1 cymbalist, 1 Timbali player, 2 Horn players, 2 Saxophon players, 2 clarinet player, 2 tuba player. Hence, a total of 26 minifigs and as many instruments. The stage comprises a dark red curtain closing the rear part, and lightenings all around on the top. Hello, it's me. Obviously. Anyways, let's cut to the chase. As a small iota of you know, I do most of my LEGO animations with LEGO Digital Designer, mostly because I don't own a webcam and don't have the money to get one. With LDD, one can make minifigs of any type for the film. However, there are a few drawbacks. Mostly illegal brick movements. However, somehow I manage to make films, however good of quality they are. And here is my newest creation. This is a music video set to some classical music, like Walt Disney's Fantasia. And so, how about a Deems Taylor introduction? Romantic classical composer Gabriel Faure made a number of pieces in his lifetime. One of which was set to a specific dance, called the Sicillienne. Instead of a dance for this segment, the director decided to put it to a stroll through the Italian Riviera. An English squire and his lover are taking a stroll, and on the way they meet some vineyard workers, a fisherman, a pesky seagull, and a crab who looks like he's related to Skalldyr.
