The Sacking of Portobelo, July 1668 On the 11th of July 1668, Henry Morgan, the greatest buccaneer Admiral in history, took a force of several hundred privateers to raid one of the largest settlements on the Spanish Main, Portobelo. At this time, Portobelo was a vital cog in the imperial operation that pulled unimaginable wealth out of the Americas destined for Spain. After successfully sacking the town, Captain Morgan and his men remained for roughly a month. During their stay they successfully repelled a Spanish attempt to retake the settlement and eventually forced the payment of 100,000 pesos for the return of the town. Although not explicitly allowed by Morgan’s Letter of Marque, those back in England cheered the Welshman’s daring raid, leading to several more attempts like it during Morgan’s long and successful privateering career. The Robot Command Center is a controversial Classic Space set and in some senses was a pioneer set. It was the first classic Space set which wasn´t neither a Vehicle, nor a Spaceship and even a proper Base. The design pushed the limits of 1984 Lego pieces and yet the structure was solid. Making aside the fact this set had many cool features, as many 80s space sets, it had some problems. The awkward "feet", the too low grabbing arms, the unreachable boxes, but many CS fans consider its worst flaw the two large canopies on each side of the robot. I´ve seen for years several updated versions of this set as Neo Classic Mocs and either remove the "beaks" or leave them as a mere adorn. In either case the problem wasn’t confronted. Following this logic, the solution would be leaving the canopies, but making them useful. Give them a purpose, to make them more than just a decorative feature. Some examples would be making them tool boxes, containers for equipment like jetpacks or drones, covers for hi tech sensors, an extra pair of arms inside the covers or defensive mechanisms. I focused on the last option and designed modern weapons which fit inside the canopies and leaving intact the rest of the original design as much as possible. [MOC] Mercury Retrogade 51 - 1951 Ford Mercury, Hotweels/Speed Champions Style

Hi! After building some "square" cars, I challenged myself to build something with an odd and more curved shape but I tried to look menacing, ominous, kinda villain car at the same time, so, the 1951 Ford Mercury was the answer. I choose dark purple and chrome to make it look also like Hotwheels. It wasn't easy to collect all parts, some of them were released in just one set, like the brackets I use to make the front mudguards and some parts don't even exist in dark purple, they were painted (sorry, not sorry Lego Purists) like the Curved wedge slopes 1x2. The Ruins of Green Mire Keep I present my MOC of the ruins of an old keep. A Knight and his guards hire a local peasant to lead them to these mysterious ruins known for strange goings on. [MOC] Ferrari F40 1:10 Redux

Ferrari F40The most iconic supercar from the edgy eighties. The last hardcore beast signed off on by Enzo. The absolutely definitive Ferrari. The legendFunctions- Working steering wheel- 5+R dogleg gearbox- Fake V8 working engine- Independent double wishbone suspension at all 4 wheels- Openable doors, front and rear clamshell- Manually operated pop-up headlights Design and InspirationThis creation is inspired by the fantastic work of @jorgeopesi from 7-8 years ago, reborn with contemporary Lego Technic pieces. I kept the gear shift mechanism of the original, and changed the gearbox to a modified version of @Rudivdk's 5+R manual transmission. Some exterior solutions also take reference from jorge's version, but everything else from steering, suspension setup to engine, body panels etc are my own designs. It's not a mod by any means, but hopefully a worthy remake. With the evolution of LEGO parts palette over the years, I have also managed to add more details to the model, such as: - cooling slots under the rear spoiler - exhaust manifold and a see-through rear grille - detailed interior and more representative racing bucket seats - detailed engine bay with all the bells and whistles (intercoolers, airboxes, etc) - as well as, the iconic line that runs across the entire car - also worth mentioning is the 3-piece rod hidden in the rear bumper that supports the rear clamshell when it's opened. Construction The car was originally built with parts from set 8145, 8070, and additional parts from my parts bin. However, 2x 42125 is also a great base, which provides 70% of the parts. The missing 30% is listed here. When making instructions, I have also tried to substitute expensive parts such as Red 14L soft axles, or Red 1x6 thin liftarms with more affordable solutions. The wheels used in the instruction are also from set 42125 to save cost, but if you want to use standard technic 56mm D wheels - part 15038, just need to use 7L liftarms instead of 6L as the rear wishbones. These wheels will stick out a bit and provide a slight rake, giving the car a more aggressive look. The wheels used in photos are third party/non-lego parts. They are great (provide a good offset between the front and rear wheel covers, making the rear wheels look "deeper") but perhaps not for the purists. You can send me a private message if you want to know where I get those wheels from, but note that I'm in no way affiliated with the seller. Neither can I guarantee the quality of the product nor seller's trustworthiness, so tread at your own risk. Instruction hereThe instructions booklet is 666-page long and contains 828 steps (talk about "Manifest" if you watch that show :D). You will find 11 modules and 10 assembly stages in between to combine the modules to form the final model. You can follow the instructions in the chronological order of the pages, or skip around, build all the modules first (in whichever order you like) and then follow the assembly steps, just like how real cars are built in the factory. Hi everybody! I want to share my MOC that I have on the LEGO Ideas website. I grew up playing with Classic Space sets and I wanted to create something to reflect that passion. I originally designed the ship by itself, and then added the hangar deck around it. The minifigures included are based on ones I made as a kid and still have, and ones I more recently pieced together. You can find more pictures and details on my Ideas project page: https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:4c27f35704a74a76af7fb8304d14309f Looking down at the activity on the hangar deck, Base Commander Billy, a veteran from the earliest days of the Space Corp, watches as they put the finishing touches on what he hopes will be the fastest spaceship in the galaxy. He has assembled the brightest minds and engineers to create the X-942. As the prototype preps for its first flight, its pilot Kara is eager to test out its capabilities. If everything works out, she’ll be entering the X-942 into the upcoming Jupiter 5000 spaceship race. Up in the control room, Lieutenants Zack and Terra watch over everything. Edwards tunes up new engine designs in the workshop. The Space Police stand on guard, watching out for any spies or agents attempting to steal the X-942 designs or components. Along with the hangar deck, the first level has a locker room for astronaut gear and a workshop with a prototype engine and tools. The second level has a control room, the Base Commander’s office, and a catwalk overlooking the hangar deck. The X-942 is a neo-classic design with variable position wings. During flight, the wings are down at a 45-degree angle. When the ship lands, the wings move up, parallel with the ground.

Futuron - Retro Space Solar Ship [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, on Flickr ================================== The beginning/Genesis : ================================== At the beginning of September, I re-watched the old animated as X-Bomber at 43 years old ! It was my birthday this month. Don't ask me what went through my mind at the time, I don't know at all! I wanted to go back to childhood, because I have the impression of having aged. I had to straighten "the bar", lol ! Seeing these old Retro solar boats literally “blew my mind”. I never realized that a lot of anime from that era had a "strange spaceship" conception, transforming old 14-18th century ships / galleons with engines for space. Yet it was so obvious! And it was there, that suddenly, I remembered Jayce, Cobra, etc ... In short, I saw all the ships of the anime of that time scroll through my head, like a comet in front of my eyes (which booms crashing into my head). And no one had done this in Lego. At least I don't remember. In itself, the beginning of an idea or impression that smelled good, and / or had potential. It was the very beginning of the inspiration and brainstorming in my head for Lego Classic Space ! ================================== The concept : ================================== I did something unusual, non-conformism, eccentric, disconcerting and crazy at the same time. I make a double combination and double ration, animated 70-90 which it was the fashion of space ships and Lego Space Futurons 87-90. For a good Retro nostalgia I combined elements of the Azuris ship from « Message from space : galactic wars », the Cephalus ship from Star Fleet X-Bomber, Glory of the universe of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, and the Solaris of the Mysterious cities of Gold ! 2 periods 70-90 in 1! Part #44938 bionicle shield, with a "mechanical" aspect converted into an energy capacitor. Various parts of Droids (starwars) converted in the machinery and on the outer deck. Bionicle Shield #45275 converted into deflectors, on the deck of the ship. Kind of like "Viking ship/longship" shields. Big Trident Bionicle #40339 = excellent for large boat emblems in general. I used a slope technique for the sides of the hull. For the rear canopy in the hull, I used a SNOT technique with part #30249. ================================== Physical information : ================================== - 7,082 parts for 854 lots. - 2 weeks of brainstorming, intellectual reflection or "total blank" ...: passive or empty work. - 3 to 4 weeks of active work. - 60.8 studs width, 101.8 studs length, 78.7 studs height. - 48.7 cm width, 81.5 cm length, 63 cm height. - 5.77 Kg. ================================== Global : ================================== All Futuron figures, including the green Lego City minifigure and the lesser known "Educational & Dacta" minifigures. 9 crew members, 3 teams of 3 watch members. ================================== Exterior/outside: ================================== - Solar sails with 3 intermediate lookouts. They can rotate a bit. - Futuron logo, in stickers, on the sails. - 2 radars at the top of the masts. - Long electromagnetic barrel at the front. - 2 small laser cannon turrets at the front. - 2 large turrets at the rear, pulsed radius. - Wings with stabilizers at the end. - 2 small rotating turrets under the wings. - 4 landing feet. - Various elements of machinery on the deck of the Boat. - 8 deflector shields on the sides (Bionicle shield converted). - 2 large propulsion reactors. - Cockpit. ================================== Wheelhouse: ================================== - 1 captain / watch officer seat. - 1 seat Transmission of orders to machines. - 1 navigation control seat. - 1 communication control seat. - 1 alarm control seat. - Walkie-talkies, fans, fire extinguishers, binoculars, cups, etc. ================================== Interior/inside hull of the ship : ================================== - Small storage room at the front, with a ladder to grab onto the deck of the solar ship. - 6 beds with drawers below. - WC / toilet. - Sonic shower. - Kitchen / Cantina: sink, water, oven, cupboards, cups, bottles of food. - Table, bottles of food. - Machine room: control bar, control panel, turbines, fans, transformer, energy condenser, energy pressurizer, cooling circuit, heat transfer fluid, warning lights, ladder to climb to the cockpit, tool kit, tools behind the ladder. - Rear canopy - SAS by energy barrier. ================================== Conclusion: ================================== I built in a perspective of pseudo-realism, pseudo-likely and pseudo-consistency, with compromises with the Retro concept of the animated ones of the years 70-90's. I wanted something playable and fun at the same time. I had a lot of difficulty and trial and error, because I had never done a Lego boat. I worked several times until 4am ! I often work like this: as long as the inspiration is there, I must not lose it, and I work until I no longer see the time passing. But the opposite has also happened to me several times: several times the symptom of the "blank sheet" for 1 to 3 days, without knowing how I was going to build, find inspiration, think about the logic of the construction, etc. . This feeling of "emptiness", that you feel something is happening, and you have it on the tip of your tongue, but it does not come out! Annoying and horrifying sensation ! :) The inclination of the walls gave me intellectual problems. It took a long time to build the engine room. I had to redo it at least 3-4 times. I wanted a maximum of diversity and complexity at the same time. The confined space of the hull gave me difficulties: how to integrate "likely" elements in so little volume ? I have lost my hair several times. Just those damn shower and toilet, I had to spend 3 hours each, to do, undo and redo in all the sauces. Like a little monkey who tests all combinations. Hello Chevy and Speed Champions fans, The 1957 Chevrolet is a car that was introduced by Chevrolet in September 1956 for the 1957 model year. It was available in three series models: the upscale Bel Air, the mid-range Two-Ten, and the One-Fifty. It is a popular and sought after classic car. Its image has been frequently used in toys, graphics, music, movies, and television. The '57 Chevy, as it is often known, is an auto icon. This model is based on one of my favorite Matchbox as a child. Building instructions are available on the following links: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-87788/_TLG_/57-chevy-matchbox-version Kit is available here: https://buildamoc.com/products/57-chevy-matchbox-version It is a studless model in the new, 8 studs wide Speed Champions style. It can be built either with fixed doors, or with openable doors. I personally prefer the fixed door version (Speed Champions style) as it is more sturdy and there are no half plate thick gaps below the doors. I minimized the use of stickers to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, therefore only two standard vehicle registration plate stickers are used. My intent was to keep the width-length-height ratio of the real car and this size makes it possible. I wanted to build the model as accurate as possible in this small scale, therefore it contains lots of details: for example the brick built flame decoration, the emblematic front bumper with the vehicle registration plate and front lights, the side view mirrors and the rearview mirror, the tiltable seats etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the brick built number on the trunk. I tried to fill every unecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The model has space for two minifigures on the front seats. There are some space before the rear seats too, but it is enough only for a minifigure without legs. [MOC] Classic Porsche 911 1:10

Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. I have recently re-visited a model which I started building years ago when I first dove in the world of lego technic. I have made some final adjustments and the model is now complete. It's my pleasure to share it here: 911S 2.4L from the 70's - 1800+ parts - 1:10 scale - air-cooled flat six - 4 speed manual gearbox (an adaptation of the gearbox found on @Charbel's Volcano supercar) - working steering wheel - independent rear suspension - macpherson strut front suspension (courtesy of Gergely's Technic Models on Youtube) - openable doors, bonnet, and engine cover What do you think? P.S.:This MOC shares ~70% of the parts with set 42096 - Porsche 911 RSR. And I have also make sure no blue pins are visible outside. If you are interested, instruction is available here And with the orange F150 fenders available, I'm thinking about building a Targa version too :) -
1950's Astro Bot 33 and retro style Classic Space car - real world (revised) MOC builds

This Classic Space version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of the previous @hachiroku version of the Giant's head added on. (consider it a mashup of the two Iron Giant models!) The car was also inspired by this Hachiroku build here, and was originally made by me in September 2020. I have just now revised this early 1950's car for Benny with new mudguards that cover the (enlarged) two rear wheels. I made both MOC models into CS colors (black, both "new" grays, and blue, with white for the car roof) with red and green indicator light parts (on the robot only), and two yellow / black bumblebee stripe tiles with a printed 4 x 2 slopes on the arms / car trunk lid. (They aren't shown, but have this print) The gray jumpers near the robot's waist are for power conduits, so he can be recharged without consuming (costly!) metal products via his opening mouth. Speaking of which, the mouth now can open to allow for posing... but unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with the shoulders, so the mouth must remain closed until I can figure out a better solution. Another thing that didn't work well was the rotating waist: it operated too jerkily and was hard to operate, so I removed that feature. The rear of the robot. Not sure if it's a feature, but the arms won't go down any further to the sides... I tried everything I could think of, but no dice. This is because the arms can't be removed without destroying the awesome-looking - and very intricate - torso. Looks pretty classy, right? The two doors open, but the obligatory black space seat is missing, because any more height and Benny would not fit inside. The rear has a license plate, the classic space logo, and two coverings mostly obscuring the rear wheels. As a courtesy to the driver instead of the space seat, I have included a light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat. As usual, Thoughts, Suggestions, Comments, & Questions of any kind are always welcome! So, what do you think? -
[LEGO WORLD BUILDER] A New Pirate World on Lego World Builder

Hello, On the Lego World Builder website (https://worldbuilder.tongal.com) people can design their own new Lego Theme. If the design gets plenty of votes and LEGO likes it, then the new Lego World may actually be taken into production. Being a fan of Lego Pirate themes I figured LEGO can always do with a new Pirate Theme, especially one with a clear story line. Therefore I came up with the idea of a story about a young Redbeard before he lost his limbs and one of his eyes. Roger Crow, later to be known as Captain Redbeard, washes up on an unknown island. He cannot believe he has survived. After the initial shock he needs to explore the island to look for food. Doing so he discovers the island is not deserted but there is indeed human, and not so human, life. There are several villages with islanders and pirates, a lagoon where sometimes mermaids can be spotted, quite a few skeletons lying about and the spirits of doomed soldiers near the ruins of an imperial fort. Hey there! My Wife and I now Updated our Ideas Submission, which is now called "Native Amerian Settlements" portraying more than one Settlement to show a broad representation of Cultures and maybe educate in the process. Our goal is to overshadow more problematic portrayals of the past and bring the Natives back in a more tastful and respectable fashion. I have actually talked to the Chairwoman of the Association representing Native Americans in my Country and she deemed the Project wonderful! She even gave some change suggestions to make Details more historically/culturally accurate, which we happily included in this Update! I wasn't really happy with the wheels of the original set so I modified the axles slightly to accommodate the tracks while still keeping the neat suspension, which gives it a much rugged look. Made around the same time as my 31107 MOD, as I still wanted to use the wheels in some other way. I still had the modules of 60227 Lunar Station built in the corner of a shelf. I hoped the interior of 31107 would've been bigger, and thought about combining the sets and making it longer, but the orange would've clashed with the red/blue, so I made this trailer. I had a spare wheel. Not sure where it came from, but I wanted to implement it in some way alongside the rovers, and remembered the old Life on Mars sets and how they had a tiny monowheel vehicle. Halfway through designing it I put it in the middle of the Trailer Unit chassis, and with enough space to spare, I made it as compact as possible to fit behind the trailer. Hi everyone! I would like to show you two simple constructions that I have built. The idea was to make something like shop sets, and to refer to the classics, such a contemporary version. Plus a style to match Barracuda Bay. A hut inspired by a set from 1992, Smuggler's Shany 6258, Raft to Castaway's Raft 6257 from 1989. The larger project is 188 parts, the smaller 92. I will share both MOCs with a parts list, the tutorial will be available on my YouTube channel - edge of bricks. I'm also thinking about some more modifications, maybe something from Islanders? ?? Any ideas? What do you think about this projects?

Every fleet needs a pathfinder, so I made one for mine. This little guy is good for both deep space and planetary atmospheric flight making him the ideal candidate for charting new territories for the fleet to explore. [NCS] 886 - Space Buggy, Remastered It is my chassis from [NCS] 6802 - Space Probe by changing the rear of the vehicle. Rear with articulated arm, 2 fire extinguishers, ore box, articulated arm control panel, 1 spaceman's hand tools, one antenna, 1 airtank. Front of the buggy with camera, sensors, binoculars, 2 walkie-talkies, a mini-satellite-antenna and control panel. Walkie-talkie, camera/weapon (depending on). On the Shuttle : reactors, engines, jet turbine, cannons, 4 front sensors, radiators, small antenna, 2 horizontal ailerons, 2 vertical ailerons, lifters, steering nozzle, rear computer control panel. I remastered it in 2020 version. I had some difficulty with the Rocket, because I didn't want to use round bricks. I wanted something more elegant with cool building techniques. So I remade the rocket entirely in brickbuild. Ditto for the radar. In short, a little technical originality. I didn't want to be conventional. I used the elements of my old constructions to keep it homogeneous. The radar cockpit rotates 360°, and the radar itself also rotates, 360°. The radar cockpit is quite worked with control screens everywhere, as well as small joysticks. A walkie-talkie, a hammer and an adjustable wrench hang on it. Which is sometimes not an easy task. All the blocks are interchangeable, between all my creations. It's Modular, on a vehicle scale. Details of the rocket. Just to swap modules, to make another MOC. Maximum standardization. The forward cockpit contains 2 repair utensils. It opens through doors on the side or through the central canopy. An excavator entirely made in brickbuild. I was worried that with my history of taking modules from other builds, it would result in a lousy mobile lab. Overall, "no". I had to be inventive on the rear 4x6 module block part. Once the seat and the astronaut were installed, I found myself stuck putting screens on him! And worse, not being able to get it out of the cockpit, lol Yeah, that's bad! Even blowing up the radar which is made up of 2 modular blocks, there was really little room. in fact, I had it kinda on my own, absolutely wanting a seat, which made it worse in a minimalist space. My neurons have overheated! Hence the idea of putting a canopy at an angle, from the top, to gain length space to take out the spaceman, but also to put control panels on the ceiling. And in fact, without wanting to, I took again in a different form, the horizontal rear opening of the 2 doors of the original 6901, but in a single vertical one at the rear. I feel hot and boiling there! ☢️ A little Classic-space 6841 Mineral Detector Remastered, only bigger. I have tried to stay true to the functionality and structure of the original. Then added in all directions: Mini-articulated arm at the back, box to store minerals, box to crush minerals and analyze them, communication antenna, walkie-talkies, various small radars / cameras / front detectors at the front of the vehicle, small rock hammer, hand detector (which can be hung on the mini articulated arm) and various control panels. Radar in tow that turns in all directions. The 2 small folding jacks when the trailer is unhooked. (A radar not horizontal, when the trailer tilts, it works much less well!) Radar on the roof of the vehicle which rotates 360 °. I really thoroughly styled this 2nd radar with sensors everywhere and tried to keep "the best spirit" with the 2 round transparent things.
