    [MOC] CHIMA BUSTER

Hi All, this is my new creation CHIMA-BUSTER. I take use the parts from 2 boxes of CHIMA WOLF LEGEND BEAST 70127 only. I hope that you like my creation.
  2. This is not pirates per se, but it's about sail ships so i thought it fits here best. If mods think it should be moved to other section of the site, please do so. But we can pretend one of the ships is actually pirate ship ;) General look: It all started on Pyrkon convention Poznań/Poland in 2014. We got some free bricks and among them there were horse hats (sorry, don't know the proper English word) for old horses that were replaced with new design. Someone said the piece is really useless for anything than putting in on a horse. Someone else joined in and said that the piece is as useless as speedor'z bodies from Chima. O'rly? I wouldn't be myself if i didn't accept the challenge and prove them both wrong. So the Sea Horse steam boat was born: Once i had it i had to build some other sailboats. Then my LUG was in need of sea themed dioramas for our exhibition that is now taking place in Swarzewo/Poland, so i built a scene for it: One of the elements i'm most proud of is the Lightouse:: And the windmills: But the main feature of the scene are ships: And some more detailed look at the ships: For more photos please go to http://zbudujmy.to/2...bitwa-na-morzu/ You can also see my other new NPU creation here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=107970
  3. Have parted out Laval fire lion on BrickLink (no minifigs or spare parts) all ready for sale or trade - PM or make me an offer... http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=nine09nueve Much love D

    [REVIEW]: 70205 CHI Razar

Set name: CHI Razar Set number: 70205 Pieces: 68 Price: $14.99 Release date: 2013 Packaging and Instructions Bag Front On the front of the bag, we see that Razar now uses his Chi to fight forest fires… Bag Back And on the back, Razar is staring of into the sunset as Gorzan sneaks up behind him. We also see a size comparison of his head, the combo model of Razar+Gorzan, and a comic of Razar using Chi to power up. Instructions Nothing special here. As usual, the same picture as on the front of the bag. Random Page No transparent Eris heads this time, just the standard light blue background. Advertisements Ooh, an ad for all the 2013 Chima ultrabuilds. After that, a display of some of the normal Chima sets. Then there’s an ad for Hero Factory sets. Parts Dumped Out The big parts in the big bag, small parts in the small bag, head in it’s own bag. I wonder why they leave the torso skeleton out of the bag. Interesting Parts First off, the black clawed foot, which I suppose isn’t that interesting, considering that it’s in 17 other sets. The new head mold, of course. A lovely “CHIed” up chest piece, which is printed. I would consider the 5M shell in silver fairly rare, appearing in 6 sets. The lovely 3M shell in a nice purple (medium lilac, according to Brickset), that only appears in this and the Constraction Joker set. That odd weapon piece is only in red in this set, and is in the CHI Eris set as well. And finally, the wing pieces from some of the Mixel and Chima sets, in both black and purple. Head The head is pretty cool, but I really think it would have looked better if there was dark red around the eyes. It has some rivets and cracks in it, which looks good. Building Action Frame Besides the wings, it’s pretty standard. They plug this piece into the back of the skeleton to attach the wings. Finished Build Front The black and purple color scheme here does look good. What would really make it look good would be if there were some dark red pieces in there. I actually like those spike pieces on Razar, they give him a nice look. They kind of remind me of talons. Profile I like how the head is slightly hunched over, contributing to his sly, sinister look. His wings don’t stick too far back. Back Wouldn’t it have been nice if they had included an extra shell back here? It looks sort of bare, but the wings do a decent job of bulking up the shoulders. Posing Like most CCBS sets, it has quite a few points of articulation. As one would expect, the wings can move around pretty well, just like extra limbs. Weapons I’m not really sure about those red pieces. On the Lego Shop description it says that they are supposed to be scythes. And those blue pins look pretty bad up close. I think it would look better if these were dark red though. Overall Razar looks pretty neat; He’s rocking a nice color scheme, and if they wanted him to look sinister, they succeeded. But reviewing him made me appreciate Bionicle 2015 so much more. This set is lacking the complexity and uniqueness of Bionicle, as well as the battle in a box idea (the Skull Spiders). Overall, it’s definitely not the best set Lego has ever made, but it is pretty good. I would suggest picking it up if you can.
  5. What I do want to know is are they still being sold in the shops? The last thing I heard about them is you could get them in "Target". (But, that was in December and now it is February.) Has any one found them some where else besides "Target"? (It does not help that the closes "Target" to me is about an hour from me. And I do not go to "Target" a lot.) And, one other thing. Are the "Ice Bears" popular? Half the shops I go to do not even have the "Ice Bears" battle packs. They have the other three battle pack from what I see.
  6. Hello beautiful Eurobrickers... After having sat on my Griffin http://www.eurobrick...3 for the better part of a year (not literally, that would be really uncomfortable!) I thought I wasn't going to wait that long to show a Manticore build... To be honest I'm surprised I haven't seen one before anywhere... with the Chima Lion and Eagle Legend beasts slotting together so perfectly for the Griffin I thought it would be in people's conciousness to build more of that ilk... *shrug* Anyhow it was a simple little build but looks very dramatic on the battlefield... and it is has some studs behind it's head so it's minifig rideable - although I don't know who would be crazy enough to do that. Enjoy and C&C as desired. Much love D
  7. Greetings Everyone! As 2015 is making it's way here, it has been predated in many regions with the early 2015 wave of sets. As new product is eagerly welcomed to transitioning shelves, I continually find myself wanting just about everything...but only getting a 'core' few sets that make the season stand out. Honestly, I'm usually a CITY fan, strolling by all the other well founded (STAR WARS), and well placed (Super Heroes figure display), collections for a good ol' helicopter. Or new Great Vehicle. I never really got into the storyline of Ninjago, or felt that drawn in by an animal realm, even though I love biology and exploring local nature wherever I go. Then, as a participant in the 2014 Inside Tour, I felt a slight slide in my demeanor after speaking with Sam (CHIMA Designer) and _______* (Element Designer). *I'm familiar with how her name was said, but have no idea where to begin spelling it, so I will do her the justice of acknowledging her wisdom over her label). Sam was more than happy to talk about some of the neat tricks they'd used to incorporate a different level of play feature into the models. I started to take notice of theoretical functionality in the Con'14 snapshots that trickled out this past summer, and then started to appreciate these creatures for the sculptured detail and personality that went into their creation. That said, I feel 2015 is going to be a pretty good year, and here's why: Set: 70230 - Ice Bear Tribe Pack Theme: Legends of CHIMA Piece Count: 75 +ballast Population: 3 Season: Winter 2015 Wallet Request: USD $9.99 The front of the box has what I assume to be standard artwork for the ongoing battle. From an illustrators standpoint, it's crisp, directional, and neatly combines two contrary forces, fire and ice. Notice the position at which the bear on our left is holding his weapon, that will come up later. LEGO Ink, Flickr The back of the box, however, deviates a little from standard detail and function, instead hinting at a greater battle by addition of set 70224. It reminds me of the older design of boxes and peripheral booklets, where you were given a larger picture of LEGO City/Space/Ocean and you could pinpoint how your little set made a difference in the way everyone else could live their day, or get eaten. It's minimal art with grand implications, and I like it. LEGO Ink, Flickr The side. LEGO Ink, Flickr The back of the Instructions. I only find this relevant, not because there's not a young child screaming at me but, because from other early 2015 sets I've seen, the image is themed for the set they are boxed with. The LEGO Movie instructions, for example, come with the Green Ninja. LEGO Ink, Flickr The contents yield 2 bags, 1 Instruction booklet, and a banner [The durable plastic commonly used for sailboards, Mater's Glider Wing, etc]. LEGO Ink, Flickr Within the first page of instructions you will find another new trait for 2015 booklets and boxes. This little logo is printed [at least in the US] as an indication of the growing commitment by LEGO to produce the highest quality product, with minimal environmental impact. I have no intention of listing these details for all future reviews, but as LEGO has made the point of taking things up a notch, I feel it should be dually noted. LEGO Ink, Flickr Our three bears, with accompanying brick built weaponry. I took great joy in noticing that each bear has an individually printed: Minifig Head, Mini-mal Head, Torso, and Leg Assembly. After years of finding standardized Fire and Police packs, not to mention generic Minifig selections @ $9.99 for 3 from LEGO Stores,I was pleased to find something that was more than what it was labeled, a parts-pack. This set has already arrived with flair. Take notice in the printing...The three torsos are all obviously the same size, but great illustration has given the illusion of three different sizes, strengths, and personality of bear. This is something that, either I missed or, wasn't present for previous animals. The golden armor gives a feeling of time honored reverence, contrasted to the somewhat varying fur patterns emoting a time honored war. I mean, he's got iced ribs. LEGO Ink, Flickr LEGO Ink, Flickr LEGO Ink, Flickr That gun/bazooka/BFG I spoke of earlier, here it is again. Except this time we're able to see it at the ready. What struck me about thie particular design is that the butt of the gun can be rotated to appropritely fit an altered grip. Whether or not this is the intentional purpose, I feel it adds to the imagined complexity and functionality of the weapon, should it ever become a reality. LEGO Ink, Flickr Now, one of the items we've all been waiting for...the pizza shooter! This element cound have made 7598-1: Pizza Plante Truck Rescue incredibly less complicated, and potentially cheaper. Though I guess you would have lost the top-feed pizza magazine, but I digress. I don't know who is behind the functionality of the new, long missile things, the stud guns, or this tile cannon, but they have made an art of plastic reacting appropriatly to friction. It may be just me. I'm not expecting a childs toy to shoot more than 12 inches. It says, on the box, that children's eyes don't agree with projectiles, so I think that LEGO is somewhat wise to limit their propulsion systems. To adults, its not the firecrcker we would hope to have. To kids, it shoots better than anything I ever had. The other thing that gets me is it's design. It's not some multi-pieced element that went through an assembly to be able to shoot, it's got no moving parts. While I could only guess at the number of mould breaks this thing has, it's a single injection, [highly] modified 1x4 Brick. And the potential uses go far beyond shooting. Looking at it again, if placed sideways, I imagine it to be a beautiful vent system or possibly a window. LEGO Ink, Flickr LEGO Ink, Flickr Upon completion, we have an ice [pizza] cannon, two fortification walls, three warriors, extra ammunition for BOTH firing weapons, and tribal identification. The only other thing they'd need for continued encampment is food. Then again, the one fella does have empty ribs. LEGO Ink, Flickr Ballast - Nothing fancy, but always useful. LEGO Ink, Flickr As a conclusion, I hope you all have enjoyed this overview, as much as I've enjoyed switching themes. I love my CITY, but I saw this box and didn't hesitate for a moment on the decision to buy it. - For a battle pack, this set [as I imagine the others will as well] includes a surprising amount of interest and value. - $$ = 5/5 - $9.99 for three mini-mals, but with the added value of play features, or spare parts. - Play Features = 5/5 - Two friction fire systems and additional weapons. - As this is my first review, I'm not sure what else to judge on, but I am thoroughly enjoying it, and my kids have not hesitated in making sure it's well used.
  8. Hi .... I think this is the right section to post this as there is a pinned threat about official Chima sets. Anyway, Mods please feel free to move if it should go elsewhere (e.g. Sci-Fi). I wanted to try and build a bipedal mech using pieces from the 70123 Chima Lion Beast set. But ....it turned out rather uninspired ... and the arms look weak. If anyone has tried to do something similar, please let me know? I would love to know how you used the set's pieces. Thanks. Here is my attempt:
  9. Can't believe that this hasn't been a major topic before. Heck, it might've been, it's just been buried under other things since then. Nevertheless, what is your favourite combiner? I'm not asking for the best one, because clearly, that is Gaardus! Don't deny it, he is a work of art. As for my favourite... Well, I rarely got enough sets from a wave to build a complete combiner. I certainly never acquired enough titans to do so (And if I did, I wouldn't have dismanted them to build it anyway. My titans only get dismanted when I cannibalize too many parts to repair them) So my favourite is actually Bohrok Kal Kaita Za. He was the first one I had all the components for, but even then, I could work out what went into him just from the picture of the completed model in the back of Tahnok Kal's instructions, so I built him before I even got the arms, with Gahlok and Lehvak replacing them. Once I did have him complete, he was just fun to play around with, and easy to return to his unmerged form. However... Lava Hawk is adorable. So, what's your favourite?
  10. I had a conversation with 'David Thomsen' who had more than just the Pirates names. Looks like the 2015 wave is still Fire VS Ice. -Sci 70220: Strainor’s Saber Cycle 70221: Flinx’s Ultimate Phoenix 70222: Tormak’s Shadow Blazer 70223: Icebite’s Claw Driller 70224: Tiger’s Mobile Command 70228: Vultrix's Sky Scavenger 70229: Lion Tribe Pack 70230: Ice Bear Tribe Pack 70231: Crocodile Tribe Pack 70232: Sabre Tooth Tiger Pack 30256: Ice Bear Mech

    [MOD] CHI Panthar

Hello again all! Haven't done these for a while, but I recently picked up a second 70208 CHI Panthar at a discount the other day, so I thought I'd mod a set that I already thought was good using only the parts you get in 2 copies of 70208 CHI Panthar: Front: LEGO 70208 CHI Panthar MOD (1) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Side: LEGO 70208 CHI Panthar MOD (2) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Back: LEGO 70208 CHI Panthar MOD (3) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Action pose: LEGO 70208 CHI Panthar MOD (4) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Modifications concentrate on the neck, torso and arms really (I thought the legs were fine as they were), including: Ditching the asymmetry (seemingly instead going for the "Edward Scissorhands" vibe with long claws on both hands) Going for 5M bones on the neck instead of the grey 4M ones, thus allowing to put shoulder armour on the shoulders rather than the forearms Filling out the torso a little (including using a little unconventional technique on a gold 4M shell located at the back, where it is held between the torso beam and the torso shell). That's all for now. Feel free to use this mod to inspire your own mods of this set!
  12. LEGO has introduced a lot of great themes over the years, only to cancel them after one or two waves. Are there any themes that you would like to see reintroduced, but this time with updated minifigures and building techniques? Personally, I'd take Alien Conquest and Monster Fighters over permanent themes like Legends of Chima any day.
  13. I was a little bit bored today, so I ended up adapting the new-style Speedorz I had into these, which I'm actually quite pleased with: Which then, with a little help from the power of Chi hands, turn into these little fellows: Note that these wouldn't have been possible with the old-style Speedorz, the old styles have too few connection points to be able to accommodate all the extra appendages securely. And believe it or not, these still function perfectly well as Speedorz, albeit they run a lot slower. I was going to put claws on the feet, but I seem to have convieniently misplaced all my T-pieces, so here the feet are just plain. I really want to try this with the rest of the new Speedorz, but I only have these two at the moment. Hope you like my unique reinvention of the Speedorz!
  14. After starting the latest chima purchases topic i felt like we needed one for all action theme themes , so here it is ! Feel free to state what you bought , why you bouhgt it and what you think about it.
  15. Hello again! Here I present a slightly different set of MOC's to you. Seeing the new torso and it's ability to hold a Zamor Sphere inspired me to try and make the perhaps neglected Outlands tribes of Chima in Ultrabuild or CHI form, using the LOTR Palantir piece as their CHI orbs to match their green CHI weapons (this is also why I used a lot of trans-green shells and gave them green eyes). The MOC's feature custom moulded heads so they can have an aesthetic closer to that of the official LEGO Ultrabuilds (comparison image at the bottom of this post). Well, without further ado, here's the MOC's (sorry about the photography, the typical English weather did not want to cooperate when I did the photoshoot and I eventually had to fire the flash on them). Don't worry about the accuracy of the head colours to official LEGO colours, that's not the emphasis of these. The heads might be a bit small on some, I did run out of clay... CHI Braptor. This should really be Sand Blue, but approximately zero constraction parts are made in this colour, so Titanium Metallic and Dark Stone Grey it had to be. I did get a chance to add some very dark blue when I painted the custom head though. Front: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Braptor (custom head mould) 1 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Back: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Braptor (custom head mould) 2 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Action pose: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Braptor (custom head mould) 3 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Comparison to minifig: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Braptor (custom head mould) 4 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr CHI Scorm: Probably the easiest of the three in terms of colours and structure. I found the new design shells to replicate his minifig armour quite well. Front: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Scorm (custom head mould) 1 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Back: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Scorm (custom head mould) 2 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Action pose: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Scorm (custom head mould) 3 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Comparison to minifig: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Scorm (custom head mould) 4 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr CHI Spinlyn: The design of this was partly inspired by the Hero Factory Queen Beast, but it's not a direct copy. I'm quite happy with how this one turned out, but I'm not sure about the bulbous abdomen. If anyone has any better suggestions (other than the two half domes I'm currently using) that will make a large bulbous abdomen, please do say. Front: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Spinlyn (custom head mould) 1 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Back: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Spinlyn (custom head mould) 2 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Action pose: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Spinlyn (custom head mould) 3 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Comparison to minifig: LEGO Chima MOC - CHI Spinlyn (custom head mould) 4 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr And finally, a comparison of the custom heads to a random official head. The random official head turned out to be that of CHI Panthar: LEGO Chima MOC's - Outlands Tribes Constraction (custom head moulds) and comparison to 70208 by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr That's it for now. Hope you like them and appreciate my work. Next on my list is hopefully an ultrabuild version of Rogon.

    MOC: Brenda

Many of action figure forum users seem to complain about the new chima chest armor having only one connection point... I think one ball socket is fine enough, but piece never looked very manly! This MOC started as a ordinary (well, not really ordinary) steampunk adventure gal (see concept art made on train), but after giving her a beret everything started to look so artistic, so I made a painting, a stand and paiting accessories. Everyone likes that sort of stuff, right? The figure itself uses quite a many parts from CHI Laval. The chest piece is the key element here, but I think that the add-on armors work quite well on the knees, too. The hair is from Laval too - it's not supposed to be on fire, but I think the bright color works quite well with the white skin (never enough tan, sadly) and earthy steampunk tones. There's more stuff on my blog too, and some extra shots on Flickr and Brickshelf.
  17. Hey there fellow Eurobricks members and Chima fans. I’m happy to present you my review of Vardy’s Ice Vulture Glider from the new summer wave. Hope it will help you decide whether to get the set or not, or just have fun reading it. Set Information Set name: Vardy’s Ice Vulture Glider Set number: 70141 Number of pieces: 217 Number of minifigs: 2 Age range: 7-14 Price: 19.99 USD / 6000 HUF Box Let’s start with the box it features the new design, with the icy chima logo and the blazing background, they make a good contrast together, also the dot on the ’I’ in the logo is a Fire Chi. This time we have the bad guy in the upper right corner, and I have to say it’s an amazing artwork. The frozen effect on Vardy’s face is beautifully done and very detailed. At the top left corner as usual the figures are presented, now they have fire and ice background instead of the regular blue/good - red/evil signs. I also made a pic with all Chima logos we have so far. Here you can also see that, the box is the same size as Lavertus’s Twin Blade and Lennox’s Lion Attack, however the latter has a deeper box, the other dimensions are the same. A shot from the top, Vardy is shown here in 1:1 size, and we can see the figures in a different pose. Now take a look at the back, the flame theme continues here and the play functions are shown. The main splitting function got a simple blue background while the flick missiles and Lundors flamethrower turret has a nice winter landscape. We can also get a little hint what the official website will look like with the new ice theme. Contents of the Box and Build With the box wrapped up we get 3 bags, one bigger (which includes a small one) and 2 from the smaller size, a thick BI and a DSS with 5 stickers. Here are the parts spilled from the bags, you can already see some great parts, like the dark brown feathers or the 2x2 inverted tiles and the trans light blue goodies. I did a shot with all the trans parts too, on this pic you can see the new spike and claw pieces as well, the spike looks like the same as the ones used for Spynlyn’s legs but they are bigger and got a technic axle instead of a simple pin. And a comparison shot with the regular (now it’s the Ice) Chi and the new Fire Chi. Okay now comes the greatest part of the set, the minifigures. We get 2 of them and they are both exclusive to this set! Lundor a cat guide among Phoenixes and member of the Leopard Tribe, and Vardy the leader of Vultures. Lundor is beautifully detailed, you immediately recognize that it’s a Leopard from the rosettes. (according to wikipédia Leopards are the smallest of the big cats, it’s good to know what ate you in Africa or Asia) He also has a little skirt and I really like the furry knees, those kinda look cute. He comes with a double-sided head on one side he has a grin smile on the other he is angry and ready to roar. Here he is with full armor and the new Fire Chi print on a 1x1 round plate. It looks very nice and you get a spare one. The headmold is great too, it makes him look bulkier and stronger, it has a serious expression. I really like this headmold and it’s great for Lundor and Tormak, but for Liella it gives a muscular look which takes away the feminity. He has a weapon called the Blazeprowlor, which is quite simple, but looks effective. Now let’s see Vardy the star of the set for me, he is my favourite from the Ice tribe members. He comes with a translucent left arm (thanks JEK-14) which looks great, it’s great to see that TLG begun to use trans limbs. Just look at the body print, sand green and gray, with a purple head. He also has exposed flesh and ribs which are glowing by the power of the Chi that resurrected him. I really like the bones used for knee prtectors, it’s a nice touch. Only the head print looks a bit off because of the beak section but that will be covered by the great head mold. He doesn’t have double sided head which looks like a tradition since the Outland wave, that bad guys don’t deserve a second chan… I mean face. Here he is in his trans light blue armor which is amazing, and he also has the wing pieces in new color. The head mold is printed nicely and has a freaky look. He has a weapon too called the Bonezythe. Before the build let’s take a look at the BI, it has the same image as the box itself. On the back side we can finally see that they got rid of the WIN kid and put a WIN Laval instead. There is a great picture at the end of the BI showing (almost) all of the summer wave figures. They left out all cat guide members, Foltrax and Vornon. An action shot can be found after the figure list, probably it’s going to appear in Lego catalogues. And a pic of all sets. Another with only the main system sets divided into the 2 factions. The build went smooth, there weren’t any problems with color differentation. It was enjoyable and fast. Here is the result: And the spare parts. The Set and Play Functions First take a look at Lundor’s little turret, the base is quite simple but it does it’s job, it has some great sand orange parts including the brick pieces, there is one extra clip where you can store his weapon as well. On the back you can see the Fire Chi attached which probably gives the power for the flamethrower . The Turret has legs and can be detached from the base and used as a little walker vehicle, however the front is very heavy and you have to lift up the „nose” of the structure, otherways it’s not stable. Now onto the Vulture Glider, I think it’s on of the best bird-like vehicles that this theme has. The color scheme contains mostly brown, dark tan and trans blue and they work really well together. The design is very nice and the vehicle has great ariculation. One of my favourite parts and a very essential one for the overall look is the head, and it’s done greatly, I really like the stickers used on it. As you can see the wings are attached via ball joints so you can fold or turn them into different positions. I show you the main function, the splitting, as you can see in the picture the little Glider is attached via clips to the Vulture, and that’s the only connection point between the 2 vehicles so you can lift it up for easier access, and detach the glider. It’s simple but cute, I have to say I like it very much, but with the feathers inverted. Like this: And the Vulture looks almost better without the Glider, it’s really a great build. The Mammoth stomper looks awful without the detachable aircraft, but this one is still cohesive and awesome alone. We also got 4 flick misisles 2-2 on each sides. Say hello to my little friend Rating and summary Overall I’m really satisfied with this set. I don’t have personal experiences about the other sets from the wave (yet) but this is got to be my favourite. A beautiful Vultue aircraft with a detachable glider and a fire turret, with 2 astonishing minifigures, who are both exclusive to this set. it has some minor flaws like the claws, it looks a bit weird on the foot that there is no claw on the inner side, but I’ve tried i and they would seize, so it’s better this way. Also Lundor’s turretchair is not a big deal but a great addition for playability. The only missing thing from this set is a clip to the vulture where Vardy can store his weapon but it’s not that necessary. Rating Design 10/10 It’s well deserved, the Vulture is amazing in any aspects and the little fire turret looks cool too. Parts 10/10 Lots of trans light blue parts, some new parts, recolors, mixel joints, lots of useful stuff. Minifigures 10/10 This is where all Chima sets stand out, beautiful prints and great molds, this is no exception. Price 10/10 I got the Lavertus’s Twin Blade for the same price (15% cheaper than the S@H price) and compared to that this set worth every ’penny’ Playability 10/10 It’s rather good for a set this size, 2 figures can battle, the Vulture has flick missile, articulation, split function, and the Fir turret has a Fire Chi mode and can be used as a little walker. Hope you enjoyed my review, it was quite objective because this set really grew on me. Feel free to share your thoughts and opinion about this set!

  20. Hey guys, Does anyone know why Gorzan has an angry, growling face in the sets? It makes no sense as he is always happy in the show... and even in wave 2 he is frowning :( Can anyone from LEGO comment on this? Or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! legozebra
  21. Hey guys, I recently bought all 5 Legend Beasts and discovered cards to unlock each beast in Legends of Chima Online (iOS). Does anyone know what button I need to press to scan them? Please post a screenshot... Thanks! legozebra

The executions of the 2nd Chima

Sorry for my english Twenty-ninth year of the war of Ragnarök , after the victory in the Battle of Sirius B6 and death of the caudillo Gorfan Roftgut at the hands of the commissioner Lothbrok and 8th Mechanized Infantry Regiment of La Vera , when she finally believed that the war had completed, the master assassins of Gorfan Roftgut , nicknamed " the rat " , took refuge in the deep galleries of numerous karst formations on the planet offered . To get out the rats from their nests It was necessary heavy drilling machinery and the nearest was in a distant system. Meanwhile in Chima system where animals evolved to intelligent forms coexisted with humans in peace in a difficult balance after a war of liberation against their former oppressors and tyrannical rulers. The arrival of a self-proclaimed messiah prodded all the tribes of animals against humans, and a fierce persecution against them was initiated . The human empire decided to lift several armies to begin the reconquest of the system, and falls within the 2nd Army Chima was newly promoted to Division level , the, 8th Mechanized Infantry Division Commissioner Lothbrok , in which numerous regiments from La Vera system were included. The planet system main capital was Chimagrado, and after a fierce battle, house by house and building by building was taken . The scene appears here immortalized is given after making full of the capital (except isolated pockets of resistance) , in the main square , where they are, in the center, the Governor's Palace to the left the ruins of the cathedral and right what remains Administrorum building . In the center, the statue of victory, brought specially for the occasion and placed as the area was secured by the 96th Regiment of Engineers from Pucela , represents the victory of humanity over the different tribes of animals. Once victory was a fact, the newly appointed governor of the planet Sebastian de Eslava wanted to make an example of , and thought to use it in old ways as Decimatio , or Carniciquina , but the commissioner refused Lothbrok saying " back these practices we would do better than the animals that have beem defeated, the 8th of La Vera not tolerate that thier prisoners are treated as this, and tan this victory was from the 8th of Vera , we will be those who choose the punishment , when your excellence win anything by itself he can choose the best way he understand " And the punishment chosen was the execution of the main leaders . This being the europian version only shows the set number, name and the age range. As you can see the Chima logo is new with bright lime green color and red spikes. Usually in the upper right corner we see the actual hero of the set but here Scorm’s head is presented with a shadowy look. The box shows Cragger and Laval running against a giant Scorpion car (are they crazy?) that is going to roll over them. The background is a foggy jungle. The back of the box is showing us the play functions described in 6 languages and shown in three boxes. There is another image which shows that Laval and Cragger is not so crazy after all and they flee from the Scorpion Stinger. And there is a picture which informs us that we get 5 Zamor spheres. Finally in the upper right corner we can see a Chima online game ad. On the top of the box we can see the 3 minifigs and Laval is shown is real 1:1 size. Content We get 4 numbered and one unnumbered bag, a DSS and two Instrucion booklets. The unnumbered bag contains the claws, Chi tubes and the rear wheel. There are really killer stickers here, they look insanely awesome and certainly add to the overall look. Minifigs First let’s start with the star of the set; Scorm, king of scorpions. He has a very detailed body printing, which looks a bit like a persian noble’s robe. The gold and black color scheme is very nice. Here he is with his unigue armor which comes only in this set, it looks wonderful and looks more like an ancient emperor here. His head is only one sided and the same as the other Scorions’. He is finished with a beatifully printed headpiece and a stinger tail. Look at that! Scorm also gets two guns which are named the Korrodors, they look great but compared to the fig they are too big. Here he is with my other Scorpion, Scutter I’m so loving these Scorpion figures! Note that the print on the headpieces is different! Now let’s move on to Laval, he comes with new printing as well, which looks really beautiful. There are so many detail on these tiny figs. He comes with a two sided head but since it’s not new, forgive me that I haven’t phtographed it. Now here he is with tons of accessories, note that his sword comes in black only in this set. Finally we have the Croc prince Cragger who made peace with Laval and they are besties again. His only new parts are the legs, which now have amazingly done crocheadkneepads. His torso is identical to Laval’s. He has a very neat bow-gun thingy. I really love the figs in this set, they all have new prints (some of them new parts) and have super accessories. Build Bags spilled, check. rare parts, check. I also encountered a piece which I haven’t seen, but after a little search I found out that it can be found in a few other sets as well. Let’s get on to the build, after bag 1 we have a strong mostly technic base and the 3 minifigures. With bag 2 we started to cover it and the Scorpion Stinger started to take shape. After bag 3 we have the scorpion head on the front and the cockpit. With bag 4 finished we add the pieces from the unnumbered bag as well and the ride is completed, Ta-daa! here is a shot of the spare parts, there is a galore of cheese slopes. The build was pretty straightforward with minimal repetition, my only problem is with TLG’s usual put-the-piece-here-and-after-you-can’t-access-it-put-a-sticker-on-it method… Other than that it was a nice relaxing build, with a few interesting techniques. The Set itself The Scorpion Stinger is a very unusual design. A 3 wheeled scorpion car. The designers made a great job recreating a scorpion shape. The head is very effective with the red diamond used for eyes, it’s one of my favorite parts on the vehicle. Here is a backshot showing the claw-moving mechanism. You have to push the dark-red plates and it opens the claws, and if you release it it closes, in this picture you can also see that there is plenty room here so Scorm can fit here easily with his stinger tail. Behind the cockpit there is a CHI crystal which provides energy for the vehicle. Now let me show the claw-opening function. et voilá! You can also place Scorm’s guns on the front. And with him finally in the cockpit, we can go and hunt some lion and croc meat. The Zamor acid spheres are stored. Dinner is prepared. Om-nom-nom Rating and Summary When I first saw images of this set I though it looked really bad, with the big rear wheel and just the whole concept wasn’t working for me. Then I checked a video review and came to really like the play functions and I just cama to like the look as well. Now it’s one of my favourite Chima vehicles, I really like scorpions and this vehicle resembles a scorpion very well. And there are the wonderful figs with their great weapons and accessories. I only can recommend this set, a very unusual design, great figs, fun play-functions and a reasonable price. Price 10/10 I don’t want to complain I got th eset 15% cheaper and it was totally worth it Parts 9/10 Rare and new parts, lots of useful pieces in great colors. Build 9/10 It was a smooth, straightforward build, I was expecing a bit more complexity and there is my issue with the sticker adding steps that I stated above. Minifigures 10/10 High quality figs, one of them is unique to this set, the rest have new printing and cool weapons. Playability 10/10 Claw-opening mechanism, ball shooter tail, the stinger tail is poseable (if you miss a step on purpose which locks the tail), the car can eat the intruders and the two fractions can fight, also the vehicle is sturdy and swooshable. Thanks for reading the review, hope you had a good time.
