  1. Hello Castle builders, I am primary Technic builder, but I love all you guys do here in castle forums. Hence, I thought what if I could build, let's say, watchtower, from Technic pieces? So this thought has been following me long, but I haven't found time, to give it a decent time. On the other hand I haven't seen it done before, please correct me if I'm wrong. I see that with my pace, it'll take ages, till I get to smthn decent, also, this technique is a lot slower than just stacking bricks, so I made few pics of this WIP project, so maybe someone can have it for inspiration and give it a proper try. I have bunch of ideas, how to make windows, how to connect pieces to regular baseplates etc. I hope I'll manage a proper Technic-Castle tower someday. Here is picture from WIP watchtower (I'll probably need to make base in smaller scale, as I'm noob castle builder): And second so you see, that you can make decent curves with Technic pieces. And here's a thought I got like half an hour ago - how to make a different base connection to build the wall around, as well as using axles for inner strength of the structure. Comments welcome. BR, Lauris

    Beacon Tower

After the initial surge of hand soldiers into the Moruth Swamps, the forces of Nocturnus began to stem the tide and push back, essentially creating a perimeter that divided the swamp in half. To solidify their hold, droves of Goblins, Orcs and various other tribes began to build fortifications on every stable outcrop and rock face in the swamps. These out posts, known as Beacon Towers, are designed to alert the people of Nocturnus of any sizable incursion of hand forces, allowing for a quick and effective counter attack. A Orc general is seen here passing through on a giant salamander, inspecting the towers and scouting locations for new ones. Along with knowledge of the swamps, this is the primary advantage that Nocturnian Armies hold on this battlefield. The Giant Salamander is a powerful war mount, native to northern edges of the swamps. They can go and fight where horses and siege engines cannot. It is dressed in heavy wooden armor, as metal armor wold drown the beast as it wades and swims across the deeper pools, and the wood is buoyant, supporting some of the beast's weight and absorbing water, a wonderful defense against flame arrows. Would like to make the following UoP Claims: +1 on Architecture-Wall techniques +1 on Architecture-Roofing +1 on Hydrology-Still Water +1 on Geography-Swamps

    MOC: Fortress on the Rocks

Hi, here is some more of my work for our little dwarven friends: The Fortress on the Rocks (I am always bad at titles for my MOCs ) I hope you don't mind the black background, but as some snow has fallen, white wouldn't have worked out (and red would have been strange). This is the "left side" of the rather large MOC. My aim was to create a mountain which is inhabited below and on its top: The guards seem to be happy: There's a traveling salesman approaching: .. and a few guarded stairs lead up to a secret door There is the entrance to the fortress: .. .and the entrance to the mountain: A view from the right: Please don't pay attention to the landscape around the mountain. This was just added for the picture. The MOC is intended to be "just the mountain". And then this is all very modular: The mountain consists of three parts. The upper fortress is made up of four modules + draw bridge tower. I have included the Harry Potter secret door, to allow escape from the fortress' prison, but that is more on the funny side of things. I hope you like this and I am happy to receive your comments!

    New AFOL on the forum

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, but not new to LEGO. I've been building since I was a child, and while I got out of it during high school and college, the minifigs series brought me right bag in (Zombie figure, I love you). I grew up with the Crusaders and Forestmen series, mostly staying with the Castle series, though I did have a few beloved Paradisa sets. Now I mostly collect LotR or Hobbit sets. I'm planning out a Bree MOC, using the MMV (what a surprise, right?). I'm also a sucker for new Marvel minifigs, and of course the minifig series.
  6. Hey guys! This is my first entry to this year’s CCC, to the Fairy Tale Castle Category. It’s Rapunzel’s Tower. According to the original story written by the Brother’s Grimm, Rapunzel was a beautiful girl, locked up by an evil witch on a tower with no doors or stairs located deep in the forest. After a year or two, it came to pass that the Prince rode through the forest and went by the tower. He heard a song which was so lovely that he stood still and listened. This was Rapunzel who in her loneliness passed her time singing. The Prince wanted to climb up to her, and looked for the door of the tower, but none was to be found… The rest, you all know… :p It was a HUGE pain to photograph a MOC this size. The lighting never seemed right and in honesty I don´t think the photos do justice to this build, but I di9d the best I could :/ Some photos: Rapunzel's Tower Rapunzel's Tower Rapunzel's Tower
  7. Hey guys, This build was just a redo of a castle set i wish i had when i was a kid. A friend told me to enter it into CCCXII so I did but it didn't really fit in to any categories so I entered it into miscellaneous - large. This would have been good in last years categories, as there was a category for a redo of and old set with new parts. But whatever I'm very happy with this build. (also the gate at the front can be raised and lowered by the chains attached and in the middle of the castle there is a trap door that falls down to imprison unwanted intruders) Enjoy guys and let me know what you think! Front view: Rear view Dragon close up:
  8. Hi guys This is the “Etheldreed Windmill” my 3rd entry for the CCC, Medieval Husbandry category, and also a freebuild to GoH. The mighty lands of Avalonia are home to many water and windmills, and perhaps the most known is the “Etheldreed Windmill”, where all kinds of cereals are milled to feed the nearby small villages. Being away from the forests, so it can catch strong winds, this windmill is an iconic landmark of Vanhorn Region. CC is welcome. I had to photograph this one with only artificial lighting so the pics came out a little dark. Enjoy
  9. The mechaknight of the Dwarven faction in the STAR KNIGHTS universe It's in cuusoo and all your help advertising and supporting this is well appreciated. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/58753 Hope you like it Thanks!
  10. Everybody knows the best vacationing spot isn't on one of the beaches of Loreos or in the forests of Lenfald. No, it's the beautiful, snow-covered mountains of Garheim. And that's where you'll find Gräehm Kendraic spending his time during the recovery period. Until he gets bored, that is. My entry for the Restricted category of the current Global Challenge for the Lands of Roawia game taking place on Merlin's Beard and for Miscellaneous in CCCXII.

  13. Hi again guys. So, this is my 2nd entry for the CCC, more specifically for the Large Miscellaneous Category. I’ve been wanting to build a medieval village for quite a while and finally I was able to do it. I had a lot of trouble because I ran out of bricks in sooo many spots that I had to improvise a lot. Also, I don’t really like square bases, but, again, I was out of wedge plates so this was the best solution that I could find :/ CC is welcome as always. Enjoy!

    MOC - The Sea Hawk

--------------------------------------- The Black Falcon Flies Again - Part 1 25 years ago Lord Durstan of Highmountain led his people in rebellion against the Crown. At first it went well, but after months of fighting the young Crown Prince brought reinforcements from the capital. Defeated and wounded by the Prince himself, Durstan had no choice but to end his ambitions of independence. For more than two decades he has been away from home, a loyal courtier in the royal castle. But he still remembers Highmountain in his dreams. He dreamt of it the night the Chamberlain woke him, with news that the King had an errand for him. The Chamberlain took Durstan through the city, down towards the docks. There was trouble in Highmountain, he told him; rumblings of war. The King wanted Durstan to return home and restore the Crown's order. They arrived at the docks and Durstan saw it: his own ship, repainted in the King's colours but as proud as when he'd last seen it quarter of a century ago. The Sea Hawk. The King himself was there to see them off. Durstan swore his loyalty and promised to do what he could to restore order. And then they took to sea, and finally he was homeward-bound again. -------------- This is my first large-scale MOC. I never quite lost interest in Lego, but I didn't build anything for a long time. My dad loved it, though - he was a long-term AFOL. He didn't build his own things, but he liked looking at what others made and would often tell me excitedly about the latest sets. Late last year he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. I built this while he was ill and finished it after his death a few months ago. I like to think he'd be pleased with it. This one's for him. Janjy
  15. Hello Eurobrick forum. In this forum there are so many wonderfull creations so I decided to lower the level a little bit turning myself from a viewer into a builder. This is my first ever MOC and it's called "stealthy theft". I know many of the pices I used are very old and yellowed but they are the only I have. I tried to mimic the wall style of this great project http://www.eurobrick...owtopic=101508. Please let me know if you have suggestions.

    Sorcerer's Solace

The crimson wizard retires to his dark tower in order to reflect, plan and gather his thoughts. No one enters the dark tower except the sorcerer himself. He has stricken every plant and tree on the surrounding grounds except the red anemone. He has caused this flower to flourish. No one knows how or why. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment and critique. Thanks! Visit my Brickshelf page for more pictures.

    [MOC] Forgotten Ruins

This is a MOC that was created to go with big fantasy diorama "Studogrod", that was displayed in Warsaw on Polish LUG LugPOL exhibition. I wanted to create some ruins that has been taken over by a tree as time went by. I spent some time creating some instructions for it as well - you can find them on Rebrickable under this link. All photos of this MOC can be found here. If you happen to build this MOC, please let me know your thought about the building process and your general impressions in the comments section. And here goes the MOC - a brave knight explores the forgotten ruins when suddenly he encounters an unexpected being... :)

    CCCXII - Nobleman's Manor

A residence for the aristocracy of the Lion Kingdom. Built on a small crystal mine, a hidden source of their wealth. I'd been working on this for a while and before I knew it, the ccc had begun. It will probably have to be entered in large misc. Also, I finally got to use those ancient windows I had kicking around!
  21. First entry for CCCXII, for the Fairy Tale Castle category. :) Thought it would be cool to do something a little different for Rapunzel's tower, so I gave it more of a fantasy feel instead of the classic one.
  22. Changing The Guard - Stonewald City Watch The Guard Headquarters of the Stonewald City Watch. With courtyard, armory, commander's office and a small park that is open to the public. The Night Guard regiment is receiving their orders for the current shift while the first torches are lit in preparation for the night. -- I didn't have enough time to finish the tree, so please forgive if it looks out of place here :-) Many more pictures in the Flickr Set.

  25. Hey guys! This my latest MOC, a freebuild. Continuing their trip thru Vanhorn’s enchanted forests, Adam and Terryn stumble across a very strange and old watermill, with crumbling walls and a curved roof. Tiered, hungry and with the darkness of the night coming quickly, they decided to ask if they can spent the night… Here are some photos, that, again, where a pain to take. As usual, CC is more then welcome! I would like to claim UoP credits for: Architecture - roofing – curved roof - wall techniques -- SNOTted tile stonework Landscape Design - trees – The tree on the left Hydrology - flowing water
