    [ESL-FB3] This Ole House

This old house was home and comfort As we fought the storms of life... It is, in fact, one of the finer buildings of Pontelli - and currently there is a little festivity going on. Captain Enrico Sombrero Verde is paying a visit and so is Colonel Brickinson. The building is famous for its roof fountains: The building is well guarded by Eslandolean Elite Guards: As this is my third Free-Build thi smonth, I need to ask for your kind approval. C&C welcome!

    Mop Being

A strange mop-like being has come to earth: ... luckily it seems to be more cute than evil

    [ESL-FB2] The Mine Is Mine

It's time to play the music It's time to light the lights: In their search for gold, the brave Eslandoleans were able to open and run a copper mine (hooray!) As you might wonder why that coppery stuff is looking greenish: copper ore is likely to look like that. Under control of "Copper Harley" (left) Elandoleananan mining experts are busily exploiting the site. C&C welcome!

    [ESL-FB1] Little Shop of Fish

I will continue with my presentation of spectacular Eslandolean buildings in Pontelli: Little Shop of Fish Although this is such a huge MOC you will find no additional pics on flickr...
  5. The house of Colonel William Oswald Brickinson, in the middle of Pontelli, was his castle and his keep. In the evening sun you can also see Lady Amy Clara Brickinson. They got married about a year ago. (The house looks actually much nicer in reality ... doesn't quite come across in the pictures.)
  6. It is time to show the East Trade Wind Company sailing! And here she is: The Stubborn Stern. She is sailing under the command of Captain Enrico Sombrero Verde. There she is sailing away .. and back again I am very happy about the new lantern design: Builder's note: While searching for the harbour I wanted to work on I found a very old and very black ship of mine (with no name). It was built in a style that I wouldn't do anymore so I was about to disassemble the model, when I thought I should give it a chance. Because that ship had been build with the simple goal to give the captain his "walkway" (I had not done this on another ship). So the goal was to leave the basics as they were but to add details and refinements to make the ship look better. Consequently a lot of yellow was added and many a curved slope. Then the old red-white colour scheme was modified to green-white. I've added cannons and the small boat at the stern. And the custom flag. C&C welcome
  7. ... let's celebrate! The Algus have turned into the "melted beyond". Celebrations throughout Mitgardia continue. Duke Fasel and the Duchess Faseline (right) are celebrating the famous magic rabbit gloves that allow thaumaturgical control of the Mitgardian Dragon (left). Rabbit supporters and friends have been invited. (The story so far) ... and Colonel Samuel Marron appears with flowers as the special guest of the evening! In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 11 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now! (incl. "Walk like an Algussian") 10) The Victory Party 11) Celebrate Good Times, Come On! (That is probably enough of this ...) C&C welcome!

The Algus Saga - The Victory Party

The Algus have been defeated. Time for happiness and a victory party! Hosted by Duke Fasel, the party was a huge success. The Kaliphlinnian support was well remembered. A splendid time for all. All the best for 2016!

[CH1 A] Making the grey one red

The islanders of the new territories (discovered by brave Eslandolian sailors) are quite industrious. Their key profession is parrot-painting (one way to make a living as an islander...) As it stands, all parrots on the island are actually born with grey plumage. Only dedicated care and craftsmenship allow for the wonderful colours that we are so fond of. The work is usually performed by all family members with the mother starting the first red coating, the children adding more colour, before the father will be applying the final touches, using several colours, depending on bird type. By the way, the other key profession on the island is monkey-statue-making. But that is a different story. A decently skilled family can produce up to twenty parrots per day. You can find more pictures on bricksafe.

    [CH 1B] Brave New World

After a dangerous journey Colonel Brickinson finally sets foot on a newly found island. For Eslandola, for King and Gold ... and Country ... and Gold! Aided by his biograph Bill Spillwine, Colonel Brickinson records every second of his first encounter with Huarriu, the leader of the strange islander tribe. Apparently the arriving Eslandolands had disturbed a secret ritual in which the strange statue was obviously involved. Bill Spillwine already had a title for the story: Brave New World. Would this island hold treasures for Eslandola? Better pictures can be found on bricksafe.

    Monkey Christmas

Many people have asked what the monkeys would be doing for Christmas. They are celebrating:
  12. Victory is ours! Long and hard was the fight against the Algus. Many different ways were conceived to beat them but none really worked totally well - until today. Until Samuel Marron realized that all the different tactics had to be combined! You need the fire of the Mitgardian Dragon.... ("I love the smell of dragon fire in the morning") ... guided by magic rabbit gloves... ... with the helpful addition of burning Kaliphlinian oil... .. the magic of the Rainbow Spell ... .. and the freshness of the Mitgardian apple barrage... .. to defeat the Algus! And so it came that in the Battle of Green Field the Algus were utterly destroyed. None of them escaped. Under the force of the combined Mitgardian attack the power of the Algus waned, the cold disappeared, their snow melted, their bodies dissolved. So, the weather forecast was bad ... for the Algus. The End. Larger versions on flickr. There is a prequel showing where the Rainbow Spell came from. And there is a sequel showing the victory party. C&C welcome! One addition: As we have to show how the Algus change the weather, here is "WALK LIKE AN ALGUSSIAN": In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 9 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now! 10) The Victory Party
  13. This is a prequel to the final battle with the Algus and the MOC explains how the Mitgardians came into possession of the Rainbow Spell. On the basis of good diplomatic connections a messenger from the South brought a surprise... It was a scroll. A magic spell. A spell that would work against creatures of the cold. Called "The Rainbow Spell". Suddenly there was hope! In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 8 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!
  14. ... it's a monster... Created and controlled by Algus magic, the multi-eyed snow monster brings terror to Mitgardia! Run for your lives! What can be done to stop the evil Algus??? Some more. C&C Welcome! In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 7 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!
  15. The Battle for Red Brick Castle: The Algus are attacking deep in the South of Mitgardia ... and water does not stop them: Their freezing spells bring ice and snow - and soon they charge! Some defenders are scared... ... but the Mitgardian mage is fighting the ice with fire: And Major Marron is leading his men and heroes into the battle: ... and the fight against the Algus goes on... More pictures can be found on flickr. (Maybe you can spot some rabbit gloves. ) C&C welcome! In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 6 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!

    [MOC] Dead Pirates Society

This time I will be referring to an old movie - and I present to you the "Dead Pirates Society": This seems to be a thriller night... .. not my usual colour scheme but I am quite happy with the way it has worked out. I had actually though that the iconic picture with the pupils standing on their desks was also the movie poster. It wasn't. Hopefully the reference is still recognizable. C&C welcome. Larger and more pics to be found on flickr.

[MOC] Captain Cookie's Only Pirate Gang

Well, it must have been some twenty years since Captain Cookie has taught his men to plunder. So, he and his gang are assembling on the peach to have a party. Being for the benefit of Captain Cookie. In the background you will find the famous Mozart himself: .. and I wonder where this is coming from... Strangely enough I hear some music in my head when I look at these pictures As usual the larger pics look much better. Have a nice weekend CB

    [MOC] Captain Cookie's New Wardrobe

Let me introduce Captain Cookie: He has been visiting a local pirate supply store and has found a great new wardrobe: Other pirates are shopping too: (This is not quite "Pillage the Village" but I hope you like it nevertheless). (I just had to produce some decent furniture. My buildings have a tendency to be empty on the inside...) C&C welcome!

    Ice Cream at Caradhras

You may be aware that Barbossa was running a kiosk at Khazad-dum. However, even more successful - and also unbenownst to Gandalf - was Saruman's Ice Cream Shop @ Caradhras: Now, this also explains why Saruman wanted to have the "One Ring": ... and it also explains why he tried to keep Gandalf from reaching the top of Caradhras. But Reinhold M. managed... It is strange that so many happy customers went for ice cream in such a cold location, but Saruman's ice cream was supposed to be just "magic". I hope you like this.

The Algus Saga - Two Minor Victories

Boosted by the help of a Nobleman Colonel Upright was able to drive the Algus back in a fierce fight at the pass. Armed with utter cuteness, Duke Fasel himself was able to add a second minor victory against the Algus at the same place one day later! For Mitgardia! ... to be continued... In the "Captain Braunsfeld's part of the Algus Saga" you are here: Part 5 1) The Beacon of Bruns Fall 2) Defending the North 3) Southern Comfort 4) Help from a Nobleman 5) Two Minor Victories 6) Water does not stop them! 7) What's that coming over the hill? 8) Where the Rainbow Spell came from 9) AppleCalypse Now!
  22. Captain Braunsfeld

    The Kiosk of Khazad-Dûm

Unbenownst to Gandalf, Hector Barbossa ran a shop near the bridge of Khazad Dûm (in his spare time) - with a certain focus on fresh apples: The kiosk was frequently visited by many a middle-earth tourist. It lay conveniently close to the famous bridge... If Gandalf had known... C&C Welcome

    [MOC] H2O Delivered

Thanks to Kolonialbeamter, Captain Braunsfeld was provided with a fresh supply of water (rum?). That was greatly appreciated: The Captain was delighted! He was about to say: "Shouldn't this be yellow", but in the end wisely he staid quiet. (the end) And you must not shoot black ladders or shakos, etc. against a black background... Have a nice weekend!
  24. Some time back I have built a ship which was inspired by Tintin's adventures. Now the time has come to disassemble the "Aurora" but before that I wanted to take and present some pictures: I was happy to include the small yellow aircraft. The Aurora was meant to undertake underwater expeditions. Therefore there were two small submarines in its hull. "Doors" would open to let the submarines dive into the water (but you can't really see that well on these pictures...sorry.) What you can see here is that the ship was build in a modular way. It also had sliding doors. The sad thing is: my sons never played with it... Seems I have built it mainly for me. C&C welcome!

    [MOC] Sir Drake's Boat Trip

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Sir Francis Drake can be found on a boat trip with his younger cousin: Sloop 8A Interestingly - and unaware to Sir Drake - they are using a custom-hull-built-boat. They would soon return to the harbour... .. when they found that they had actually started their journey without any monkey support... Ahoy! (pls. don't comment on the waves. They are just bad and I really wanted to present the ship.)
