  1. Hi all, I am starting a new thread here to document and report my process of building a new bot based on the Raspberry Pi BuildHat. Comments and suggestions are all welcome. At the moment my bot is build with the following H/W - RPi 4b Buildhat Sensehat (for displaying a face and doing other measurements) A Rpi camera Raspberry Pi OS (debian buster, finished configuring the python libs for the hats and added remote access so I can deploy new python code to it) At the moment the bot can only tilt its head up and down, but in the next few days I will start adding tank tread for movement and a front grabber. Just in case you are interested in see what it looks like, here are some pics - Bot with camera, build hat and sense hat Bot with camera, buildhat and sensehat (side view) Looking forward to hear your feedback / comments. Have a good weekend! /cheung 8)
  2. This Classic Space version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of the previous @hachiroku version of the Giant's head added on. (consider it a mashup of the two Iron Giant models!) The car was also inspired by this Hachiroku build here, and was originally made by me in September 2020. I have just now revised this early 1950's car for Benny with new mudguards that cover the (enlarged) two rear wheels. I made both MOC models into CS colors (black, both "new" grays, and blue, with white for the car roof) with red and green indicator light parts (on the robot only), and two yellow / black bumblebee stripe tiles with a printed 4 x 2 slopes on the arms / car trunk lid. (They aren't shown, but have this print) The gray jumpers near the robot's waist are for power conduits, so he can be recharged without consuming (costly!) metal products via his opening mouth. Speaking of which, the mouth now can open to allow for posing... but unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with the shoulders, so the mouth must remain closed until I can figure out a better solution. Another thing that didn't work well was the rotating waist: it operated too jerkily and was hard to operate, so I removed that feature. The rear of the robot. Not sure if it's a feature, but the arms won't go down any further to the sides... I tried everything I could think of, but no dice. This is because the arms can't be removed without destroying the awesome-looking - and very intricate - torso. Looks pretty classy, right? The two doors open, but the obligatory black space seat is missing, because any more height and Benny would not fit inside. The rear has a license plate, the classic space logo, and two coverings mostly obscuring the rear wheels. As a courtesy to the driver instead of the space seat, I have included a light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat. As usual, Thoughts, Suggestions, Comments, & Questions of any kind are always welcome! So, what do you think?
  3. Detroit, the near future... yeah well, not really, actually - it's 1987 and one of the best movies ever was released: Robocop! The future of law enforcement. Part man, part machine, all cop. This is my attempt to recreate one of my most beloved movie characters and I tried to add as much accuracy, details and features as I could. Robo stands approximately 24cm/9.5inches tall and features about 25+ points of articulation for simple recreation of memorable poses from the movies. He comes with lots of accessories, many of which can be stored inside his leg holsters (...yes, he includes an opening leg holster, one each leg! A must!!): His regular gun, the Auto-9, which can be "upgraded" with the iconic triple fire effect, the data spike (not retractable, sorry), also interchangeable heads with/without helmet (the helmeted version is designed so you can use just the top half to recreate the "take off helmet without chin guard" scene) and I also included his flamethrower arm (but not his jetpack... yet...?). The whole build turned out to be surprisingly solid, highly poseable with great playability. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. (You can visit https://bricksafe.com for many more pics and https://rebrickable.com for the parts list/instructions, should you want a Robo for yourself. Thanks.) Also super happy and exited to announce the full set (including all parts & instructions v7) is now available @ buildamoc.com! Thanks to all who support my designs by purchasing from legit MOC stores.
  4. This is a LEGO Transformer robot which is able to change into Mini Combat Robot and Combat Helicopter. I spent much more time than the others to make the stop motion animation in this video. I wanted to take a scene of flying helicopter and I tried it actually. But I failed to many times and I had to give up. :( Anyway, my favorite part of this video is the rolling and transforming scene. Don't miss it!

    [FIGS] Vintage Droid CMFs

Hi all! Recently I cooked up something unusual. What happens when you put together the new and the old? Pieces and ideas, that is? I have never owned any of the droids or even been into Space sets and whatnot, so wasn't infatuated with these three classic buggers until I picked them up very recently. I also own UFO droids, but those aren't as charismatic or distinctive. By combining mostly vintage Lego pieces and sneaking in a few new ones, I made a custom "VHS" trio complete with printed stands to resemble the CMF series. One thing to note: times have changed, and so has the trio's purpose... First: the white Exploriens Droid. Enemies will not be walking - heavy hammer does the talking! Second: Insectoids Droid. The menacing cannon's electromagnetic, the enemies better be very athletic! Third: Spyrius Droid. Tracking foes with recon bot, slashing them with plasma sword! That's it, folks! Weaponizing the trio was not my aim, but it just so happened that everything fell into place this way. Cheers, and comments are welcome!

    [MOC] Barbinator the fairy

Hello, my dear visitors! Have you ever dreamed of a fairy paying you a visit? Well, you may want to reconsider. Such amazing! So mobility! Much wow! "A modern toy". This action figure is meant to illustrate the sorry state in which the child and teen entertainment industry is finding itself in our age. My intention was to leave as much humanly features as possible, overlaying them with the sheer inhumanity of modern toys and games. If you think that parents can effectively shield their children from corporations who employ flocks of shrewd marketeers, then think again. There's only so much one can can do, and this is where we are headed. Leg movement animation. Click here to see my attempt in composite animation which was too heavy to be embedded. An angelic "Kill Teal" version. A dangerous kind of beauty... isn't she?? Thanks for your attention and I hope you enjoyed her company! x)
  8. Finally being on vacations , found time to build this bot ( 3-4 hours approx.) Luckily I decided to re-read the rules , because I thought that the entry time already had ended Video will come later this weekend. Blood, bare bones and greeny skin - this is "Monsta" For some reason the images are gone , but you still can see them here: http://bricksafe.com/pages/LXF/monsta
  9. hi all, some months ago i made this video of lego battlebots, and now i'm posting it there because maybe you could be interested also for TC11, you'll find all the bot info in the video but i'll clone them here too, hope to bring up a brickshelf folder asap for the two bots (but i have to rebuild them due to pieces and electronics being used for witch doctor replica, cardiac two, fanmade design, killerhurts and recyclopse chassis, and other 3 500g class bot an grabber a lifer and a flipper) PULSAR weight: 700g size: 23x27x9studs weapon: 73g spinning drum with two single teeth 1900rpm strenghts: really effective wedge shape used to go under the opponent and lift them with the drum energy weaknesses: the drum isn't enough fast to launch the oppnent on the air, wheelholders may break off easily, weak wepon belt CARBIDE weight: 730g size: 32x32x9 studs weapon: 84g spinning bar 750rpm strenghts: great power and though armor, effective rear wedge weaknesses: the armor can e warped or bent and increase friction in the drivetrain, hard to control, high battery consumption here a photos from Ellis (pulsar builder) about size comparison here the video: NB it is really long, if you want, after presentation, you can skip to 11:02 to skip the fist fight (a bit long and boring) and save time without losing the most of the action! i'm keeping editing this with photos and videos from my twitter, it is hard to find them back but i'll try: CARBIDE PULSAR

    FAPC Attack of the Fish

Puny humans, so safe and happy on your dry land...well no longer. For too long we have watched beneath the waves as you played, swam, fought and stole from our domain. You've brought this fate upon yourselves, for now you will know what it is like to have your domain invaded. We have developed new technologies (which is amazing considering our lack of thumbs, or hands altogether) and now we WALK ON LAND! Run if you must, but you cannot escape The Rise. We will find you. We will kill you. And WE, we will flush YOU down the toilets from now on!
