  1. Jan 31st, 615 AE Parakeet, At Sea Dear Brother, Yesterday the Parakeet sprung a leak. We were obliged to beach her in a convenient, protected cove. With her hove down and the cargo landed, we were able to come at the hole and affect a temporary repair. We took the opportunity to careen her as we also found a fair amount of weed. I begin to understand why Old Bill was so willing to wager her in last month's game of piquet. She is very fast, but she is old, and frankly many of her planks need replacing. That said, once we've made a few improvements, I believe she will prove an ideal vessel for our new business. Your Humble Servant, Richard Walton, Esq Here are a couple of extra pictures for anyone curious about her devilish construction. She is intended to be a two masted lugger. The three masted lugger was the preferred rig of English Channel smugglers, but I thought that would be far too big for a Class 2F, so I went with a two-master.
  2. This is my attempt at building the end of the Appleseed, LAS during the January MRCA. I don't know how the rule is for this kind of build. Is it also a Freebuild ? And do I have to fill a WebForm ? The end of the Appleseed : Captain Log entry, Day 29 : This was a lovely day at Terreli when we began to load new young appletrees and some good iron weapons from our Capital in order to help to develop the colonies in Nellisa and Berelli. The loading was very effective and we were ready before our escort, the Queen of Terreli, arrived at the bay. Day 30 : The start of our run has been delayed because some of the vessels supposed to join us during the run were not registered ! Ah ! Bl...y administration ! Day 31 : We are well escorted ! The Queen of Terreli fought dangerous smugglers this morning. For what I saw with my spyglass it was a hard fight ! Hopefully the eslandolan warship is not too badly injured. In the afternoon, Juan de Hespérida asked me to make a little detour from our escorted run because he is saying we are near a possible position of the Island of the No-one Orchard, where we could find the Golden Apple ! Since I don't really understand the thing why an island have différent positions or how an island could be here and there I agreed to search a bit around the area Juan had indicated. This is possibly the last line I will write in ths book ! We have been hit by below along the starboard lowdeck ! There is an enormous leak ! I don't know if we can reach the coast... I was sure it wasn't a reef ! There are no reefs around ! Some of the crewmen thought have seen an enormous shadow passed underneath the keel ! ... And so the Appleseed went to the depth of the Ocean ! No one heard about the crew or the captain until now ! Felipe de la Manzana was found harrassed but alive in the coastal beaches of Terreli ! Felipe explained that all the crew is lost, and of course all the cargo ! He managed to survive the shark attacks by throwing them apples just before being eaten ! He said that one shark was nearly to choke after eating an apple ! This is what saved him ! Felipe conclued with this sentence full of wisdom : - This would never happened in an appletree orchard ! And finally here lies the Appleseed : Hope you liked it ! I have to make some precisions : - First : no ships were harmed during this scene. In fact the Appleseed is still built, I just made the rigging better ! - Secondly : this ship did not deserve to sunk ! I am saying that because when I built this MOC, the ship did really escaped my hands and fell but did not broke ! I made it pretty much sturdy ! - Third and last : I will not license her anymore and nobody will be able to ! This is my personal rule when I entered in BoBS : I will not license any Lost At See ship I will loose ! (it's stimulating me to build better vessels !) Thank you for reading.
  3. Shiver me timbers. The Sea Rats ran into the Mardier on their recent MCRA. Everyone sing with me to :Hands up, baby, hands up Gimme your ship, gimme, gimme your ship... Surrender by dr_spock_888, on Flickr With their ships captured, the surviving crew were thrown into a cell. Their fate was uncertain. Mardier Cell by dr_spock_888, on Flickr But there may be hope. 4. The "Flying Colt" was sailing along happily on a merchant run off the coast of Garvey when suddenly it was attacked by privateers. The ugly scurvy aboard the “King of Mardier” wanted to haul in the cargo for themselves. The "Flying Colt" immediately set to defending themselves with cannon and prepared to fight hand to hand if it came to it. Fortunately, the Eslandolan escort "Queen of Terelli" was nearby to lend a hand. Some of our troops are a little too green for battle. 5. Previous Builds Intro: Silent Wolf FB: "Flying Colt" Ch1 CatA: Ahoy, Fishermen! FB: Back at the Ranch... Silent Wolf and his friends spent a week with the natives. They were hosted by the village. During this time, they learned some of the information about this land. One of the surprising things they learned was that the village had been visited years ago by other men like the Corlanders. They discovered this when they heard the natives speaking some words that they recognized from their merchant and military missions in the Old World. The natives told Micah and his friends that the previous visitors had come a long time ago. Only the most elderly remembered them. The natives declared that the visitors had been crazy which is why they never came back. The visitors enjoyed spending their time inside the earth. Only crazy people go inside the earth, because every smart person knows it is dangerous. When Micah asked, no one was willing to show them where the hole into the earth was. Later, one of the young natives who was called Hanska told them that though the tribe was afraid of the hole in the ground and the loud noises that came out of it, he had been inside before. He would be willing to lead them there. Leaving Caleb with the ship, Micah, George, William and Arthur followed Hanska through the forest. A girl from the tribe who apparently was interested in Hanska followed the group from a distance. After walking for about an hour, they saw a large rock jutting out of the ground. As they moved torward it, they scared up what appeared to be a pig just like the ones they had back in the Old World. Haska told them they had been left by the former strangers and had grown quite wild and populous on the island. Upon arriving at the rock mound, Haska pulled the vegetation aside that blocked a tiny entrance into a narrow cave. The men lit the three torches they had brought and squeezed one by one through the opening. Descending into the cave, they saw a light up ahead. When Micah walked into a room of the cave, he saw a tiny rowboat sized opening that revealed that this cave opened into the ocean. Then he saw it! Chests and chests full of something! If the one that was broken up was any indication, it was a hidden treasure that had rested their for the last seventy years. They were all shocked! An overview of the MOC:
  6. Dramatis Personae: Somewhere in the ocean... LAND HO!!! Ho? Aw yeah. Shut up! Just shut up! Alois is correct, there is a small island visible in the distance. There also appear to be some sort of primitive dwellings. You three, take the ship's boat and investigate. This may be our chance at discovering a new culture. Wait, the ship's boat is different. Yes, Bregir suggested that the previous ship's boat looked too modern in appearance and I agreed with him (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=120267). So I decided that instead of the brickbuilt one that we presented before, we would just use the prebuilt one. How can something look "too modern"? Isn't modern now? He meant that it looked too much like ships from the future which have not been designed, yet. Then shouldn't he have said that it looked "too futuristic"? Oh, quit arguing semantics and get going already! LINGUISTICS!!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Later, on the island... Welcome to our island home! I'm Amy! And this is my sister Jessica! Why, hello there! Well, hello there yourself! I'm "Motorboat", and you don't need to know these other two people. In fact, I'm all your sister and you will need from now on! Wait. Your names are Amy and Jessica? Aren't you supposed to be primitive natives? And where did you learn our language? We prefer to be called indigenous peoples. And we have adopted names given to us by earlier explorers, because my name in my native tongue, ttcpkkjkvgmkmbzbqgtfrzsdgt, seemed to be too difficult for the explorers to pronounce. That's where we also learned your language. Igneous people? Well, I'm certainly as hard as an igneous right now! GEOLOGY!!! That's "indigenous" you scrotum-skull! Where's everyone else? Oh, it's just me, my sister, and about 30 other young women living here on this island, where all we do is undress, bathe in the nearby lake, play while naked in the lake, get dressed, and then undress, and bathe again. Lucy, I have never asked anything of you before. But now...I'm begging you, leave me here. Please, take Alois and get back in the boat and return to the professor and tell her that I fell overboard and drowned. And tell her that there was nothing of note on this island. What about Rebecca? Who? YOUR FIANCEE! Oh, yeah, her...yeah, tell her the same thing. I fell overboard and drowned. No...something's not right here. Amy, Jessica, where did your men go? Oh, um...our tribe suffers from this Y-linked disease where the men die just shortly after reproductive age. So it's just us women on the island! In fact, your man "Motorboat" here could help the 30 poor and very lonely indigenous young women here, including me and my sister, repopulate the island with men, since he doesn't have the Y-linked disease. GENETICS!!! PLEASE, LUCY, LEAVE ME HERE!!! Genetics hasn't even been discovered, yet! Alright, we're leaving! ALL OF US, INCLUDING YOU, PEACOCK! As much as I'd like to abandon you here and never see you again, my conscience would gnaw at me worse than you ever will. Alois, drag him back to the boat! BIOMECHANICS!!! No, wait! Yes, wait! Alois, take us out of here! NOOOOOO!!! Damnit! +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Crap! They're leaving! I guess that means no dinner tonight? I don't get it! That genetics line always works! Maybe Amy screwed up the lines! We should make sure Jessica says them next time! Great. What are we supposed to eat now? I don't know. Do you really need your non-clubbing arm? +++++++++++++++++++++++++ All comments and criticisms welcome!!!
  7. Small Hermes was constructed at the fine shipyards of New Oleon and ordered to sail to Breshaun, Le Bellan, so as to assist trading there and further the interests of the great Oleander nation. Due to its experienced multinational crew, it can overcome nearly every difficulty thrown at her in the sea. The only slight drawback is the lack of armament as it is currently carrying only 4 swivel guns and one canon. Oleander citizens that don't have a ship yet, can licence this merchant ship as his/her first licenced ship for free for a month's duration, in order to test the MCRA model of the game. If no Oleander citizen is found to licence it, then any participant of BoBS can licence it again for free for a month's duration. Today he sails for the world with a cargo of Rum and nails. His first mate Vasco keeps an eye out for sea rats from the bow. My first ship, which was a challenge. C&C welcome! LDD doesn't have sails. Should've used Mecabricks for this one.
  9. This is my Third Freebuild this month, so if you like it, don't forget to approve it, thank you ! According to the King, MAESTRO will be given a Charter ! So, Felipe de la Manzana prepared his ship in order to prepare the Push to Exploration the Crown requires. But He didn't know where to begin... In order to do so, he re-armed the family's sloop, The "Appleseed" and went through the sea, trying a way indicated by the strange map Juan Ponce de Hespérida showed him before ! The Appleseed is a Well Rounded Sloop capable of any duty. She is able to defend herself with 4 Lowdeck cannons of 20, 1 cannon of 20 on top of the Aftcastle, and 2 little cannons of 10 in the Forewardcastle. She is also capable of some cargo, with a Lowdeck Cargo zone. Of course the main products here are the famous weapons of Stedor, and some Apples and the Cider of Felipe ! Suddenly, The sentinel in the Crownest yelled : - There is some floating woods there, Captain ! Felipe put a canoe on sea and went out to see this strange drifting wood with one crewmember. He jumped onto the drifting wood and opened the chest. It seemed to be some tribal stuff with an awful little statue of probably a "terrible god" and a note with it... Looking further the note, Felipe read that there is the proof here that there are inhabitants and other cultures in the outer islands more through the East ! - Great news ! I will keep this stuff for my own collection and bring the news to the King and to my fellows partners of MAESTRO ! Thought Felipe. Said that, Felipe de la Manzana turned back to East for great adventures and for the King, the Gold, and for Apples ! ... Thank you for reading. This is my first ship ever... I had to rebuild most of the Foreward and some part of the Aft in order to make a correct sailing and to put correctly the masts ! I really wanted it to look like a nice little sloop. I made some custom sails, hope you like it. I'm not a good painter, so the apple of the front sail is a bit strange, sorry for that. She is entirely playable : - The Foreward castle is removeable in order to access to a moving cabestan that is holding the anchor. - The Deck is openable in order to move the Guns and put a crewman to operate them. - The Captain Cabin has an access through the window that is openable. - All the cabin is removeable in order to access to the Cargo zone. To see more pictures : My Flickr account Any advice or commentary is welcome. I tryed a new set up for photos, don't hesitate to comment on it. ! Don't forget to approve the MOC if you like it, thank you ! As this is my first ship in BoBS, I would like to claim the free licence for it as a Well Rouded Class 2 ship. And I also would like to license it as a trading ship for MAESTRO. If I read it well, to do so, I need also approvals from the players (and leaders) of Eslandola, or am I wrong ?

  11. Dramatis Personae: With the Wave of Knowledge, now we can sail from port to port and attend scientific conferences. Meanwhile, we can network and set up collaborations, as well as recruit faculty for the new university of Bastion. I'm guessing you'll register her as our free ship, a class 2 trade vessel? Indeed. She isn't the fastest vessel, but she can definitely carry specimens we discover on our scientific expeditions back to port. Her spacious hold also has enough room for the crew quarters and provisions. By removing the main deck, you can access the hold. Because a crew that sleeps together stays together! If you try to sleep with anyone other than Alois on this boat, I will rip your testicles off and shove them so far up your anus that you'll vomit them back out. ANATOMY!!! She also comes with a ship's boat and a pair of heads at the bow. Yes, my fantasy of defecating into a box in full view of everyone while being violently tossed about by the ocean waves can finally come true. My fantasy of watching you do that can come true, too! I swear I will kill you so hard, you will actually die twice. By the way, is there any reason why all the pictures we've shown are from the port side or bow? That's because the LEGO company got cheap and only prints the sails on one side, which forces fans of LEGOs to only display their builds from specific directions. Here's the ugliness in full view. Do you see this, LEGO? This is ugly! Help us help you by printing the sails on both sides! And that's that. I guess that wraps up this free build post. We're not going to reveal how the hull was assembled? And give away our secrets so others can copy our work? It's called "open source", get over it! Here's the bottom of the hull.... Wait! Stop! Too late! What have you done, Lucy!!! Oh, shut up! Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Today he has a gentleman of Eslandola visiting the ranch to see what is going on. They have just brokered a deal for a lucrative contract over the course of the next two years.
  13. It's time for grape harvesting at D'Offren vineyards, Breshaun, Le Bellan. Everybody is running up and down. Grape gathering, squeezing, tasting, putting into barrels and transferring them to a big shadowy cellar. Who needs rum when you got mother nature's sweet wine? P.S: Sorry for the lame photos (taken under really bad yellow lighting and cat continuously pulling the white tablecloth i am using), but i don't know if i have the time to build me any type of enterprise till the end of the month, and i wanted one licenced. 14. The map he sought was on LeBellan. That was sure enough to complicate things, but Leon Dracken was not put off... Perhaps he should have been. Finding himself locked up by the Oleon Navy was not part of the plan. Luckily, his cell overlooked the bay, and his crew were in town. The Garrison Commander had just finished bragging about Dracken's upcoming execution when the cannonball struck the corner of his cell. Moments later, Dracken was outside, and rescue - of sorts - approaching. The Oleon soldiers above him were not so lucky. Dracken's crew, including Master Gunner Kite, were coming, with a boat. Dracken readied himself for the jump to the boat. The soldiers would just have to rescue themselves. And then, Complications ensued... Unfortunately the lighting wasn't great while these pictures were being taken. These were the best of the bunch.
  15. Here we are finally! Welcome to our new home of Bastion! And who be ye? Ye dun look like a Sea Rat! Look everyone! This must be one of those ruffian scoundrel types I've read about in the brochures! Ah, but where are my manners? I am Ethylene Glycol, professor of science; and these are my students. This here is Lucy Liu, my senior graduate student. Don't mess with her, because she's Asian and knows martial arts. That and she's a bitter sixth year student who doesn't have enough papers to graduate. That wasn't a racist introduction at all. Besides, whose fault is it that none of my projects had interesting results?! And why did we even leave Corrington in the first place, Professor I-Lost-All-My-Funding-And-Had-To-Leave-The-University?! And what the hell is an Asian?! Do you see a place called Asia on this map?! I told you she was bitter. This here is "Motorboat" Peacock. People assume he is nicknamed after a seafaring vessel that has not been invented yet, but in fact, he is nicknamed after a thing he does with his mouth which is named after a seafaring vessel that has not been invented yet. For some reason, he is very popular with the ladies. BbbrrrrrrrrrrrrBbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrBBRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! And this is my newest student, Alois Bieber. He was a former Oleon soldier who had attended a seminar of mine to protest science, but instead got enlightened by my lecture and has since become an evangelist for science. FOR GREAT SCIENCE!!! Erm...hi. My name is NPC143. Oh, my poor soul. You are one of those non-player characters. Maybe if you try really hard, you will eventually become significant enough to have a name of your own in this story. <sniff> I just want to be a real boy! Don't we all? Anyways, we are here to establish a new university of higher learning here at Bastion! One unfettered by the idiotic scientific rigors that those Corrington stick-up-their-arses seem to adhere to with all the fanaticism of the Oleon religious zealots. You mean like replicating experiments to ensure that the results are reproducible and statistically significant? Gobbledygook! A single observable event is all that's required! Afterall, if it's not true, then why was it observed in the first place? Or like writing transparent Materials and Methods so that others can follow how one did an experiment and reproduce it if necessary? And give away my precious secrets?! Nonsense! They are lucky enough that I don't write my manuscripts in code, as it is. Um...okay. You there. You look tough, how did you lose your eye? I was in the laboratory one day performing an acid-base titration when my fiance barges in and throws my experiment in my face! She apparently had learned of a tryst I was having with my undergraduate assistant. You could say that she blinded me with science! Ha ha! Science giveth, but science can also taketh.... I'm sorry I asked. Oh, look at the time! We must be off! It's been a pleasure, I hope we'll meet again...er...NPC297. That's NPC143. Sure, whatever. Toodles!

  18. When Philip reached the pier, he was pleased to see that Anthony Crol, his longtime friend, was waiting for him. They had crewed several ships together, but this would be different. “Tony!” cried Philip as he spied his friend. “Pip! What’s going on? I heard you were called to Guilder’s office, and then a street kid comes running up to me telling me to meet you. He also said you told him I’d pay him two copper pieces to get me here.” “Smart lad. He doubled his pay for this job!” “I think you owe me two coppers, Pip.” The friends laughed a hearty laugh, then Anthony asked Pip “What’s going on?” “Tony, they gave me a ship. It’s just a small sloop, class 2WR, but I’m the captain!” At first Anthony was as stunned as Philip was in Guilder’s office, but stunned silence was quickly overcome by unbridled joy for his friend’s good fortune. “Wow! Congratulations, Pip! You’ve earned this.” “There’s more, Tony.” Philip paused to make sure he had his friend’s full attention. “I need to fill out the crew. Specifically, I need a second in command…” “What? You think I’d serve under you?” For a moment Philip was taken aback, failing to recognize Anthony’s mock disdain. Then Anthony broke into a sly smile. “Of course I would! Man, this is going to be something. The two of us in charge? The world had better look out!” Then, after a moment of thought, he asked “So, what ship did they give you?” Pip motioned down the pier. “Look behind you, Tony. There she is. The Lady of Madrice.” Philip was filled with pride. Tony, on the other hand, was half in shock and half stifling laughter. “The Wench?! You didn’t say you were given command of the Wench!” The Lady of Madrice was well known by her nickname among the local sailors. “Would you have turned down my offer if I’d have told you?” “Of course not, but you didn’t say it was the Wench.” Anthony was having fun tweaking Philip about this. “Tony, she may be a bit aged and have a long history of being passed down from captain to captain, but she’s a lovely lady to me, and I will not have you calling her that!” And then Philip broke into a big grin. “What did you expect, the Eslandia?” “Tell me you didn’t call her the Wench to Guilder’s face.” “Of course not!” Philip replied. “But I had to bite my tongue not to! Come on, let’s give her the once over and see what she needs.” Anthony snickered in response, but then put on a straight face and went aboard. The crew was busy loading supplies into the hold. The sloop looked to be in fine form, with clean deck lines and fresh paint in MCTC colors on the sides. She had a crowded deck when loaded with four cannons, but piracy was a concern. She also sported two small swivel guns at the bow. The Lady of Madrice had served many captains well, and Philip was confident that she would serve him well, too.

  20. Here is my entry for Challenge 1 Category A : A juicy meeting So, Felipe de la Manzana and his first officer and trustfull friend Basil passed the Portal they saw in the jungle when they first touch ground in the island that seemed to be Berelli, the one Ivo Fortesque himself found east to Nelissa. They walked some time in the jungle following a little pass made of paved tiles. Felipe was very enthousiastic with that because it was another proof of a human presence here ! Exactly what he was expecting when he found this tribal stuff with a note at sea few days before. This discovery made him sail east and by now he never had be disappointed ! Perhaps those natives could know some interesting legend and why not some with a golden apple that would worth the effort ! Lost in his dreams, Felipe did not payed attention where he went and after passing a bush, Basil hold his arm saying : - Hey ! Felipe ! Be careful ! Here are the famous natives you expected to see ! Erh... I think we bothered them in the middle of some funerals... Ah ! Hold on ! Felipe ! They saw us ! But it was to late ! Felipe walked through and disturbed the ceremony enough to anger the priestess - Hey ! Que faites-vous ici !? She said surprisingly in Oleander ! - Sorry, we are explorers from the west and we try to find some of the native people of the island. Answered Basil, better in Oleander than Felipe. - Ah ! Again ! Some of the man from the west ! You are not the first ! Are you bringing the Thunder-Fire with you ? Basil and Felipe tryed to find what it was and found it was guns. - No ! Not at all ! we are here to find a rare fruit ! a golden fruit ! said Felipe. - Ah ! let me finish these funerals and we will talk. After a while, once the ceremony finished : - Welcome men of the west ! I am the high priestess Zumo de Kapayas. You are very welcome in the tribe of Ténotclaxca ! We are pleased to see you are not carrying your terrible weapons. Are you coming in peace ? We first met some men dressed with blue and with priest. They teach us their language and then they tryed to hunt us from our land ! so they brought their... what are you calling that... ah ! yes ! Guns ! But they where too few, so we killed them or send the survivors at sea. Unfortunately they killed our chief Saginga, the one we burried today ! - We are not like those Oleanders ! We are here to offer you some products to trade and to gather some informations concerning a golden fruit we are trying to find ! - Ah ! Yes ! Of course ! We've got such a fruit ! - REALLY ! shouted Felipe. - Yes it is that fruit. And a native brought a shiny yellow Banana. - Argh... No ! That is not the fruit I am looking for ! This is this one, but a golden one. Said Felipe showing to the Ténotclaxcans an apple. - No, sorry, we don't have that. Answered the young native. But if you want, we have some legends talking about strange magic and some are about mother earth and a fruit. You are welcome to seat with us and listen to those stories but you will need to learn our traditions. - Of course, of course... Answered Felipe. The hope is not lost to have some informations ! Hold on Felipe !
  21. Here is my entry for the Challenge 1 Category B : Land Ho ! Ruins in the jungle Sailing East, according to the note Felipe de la Manzana found in a drifting chest with some tribal stuff, was effectively a good idea ! The Appleseed rapidly reached a strange Island covered with dense jungle ! - Nah, we meet again Jungle... Thought Felipe. I really have to deal this dense forest in this island too ! I must claim this land for Eslandola if I want to develop more apple trees orchards here ! He was lost in his thought when the crow nest man on duty shouted : - There is kind' buildin' here Cap' ! There was effectively a strange building, a doorway, a portal or something like that near a rocky formation covered by the jungle. - Let's see that ! I have to land on that island ! I am not sure it is a place our charters have recorded. We must investigate. Declared Felipe. The row boat was put on the sea, and they touch land. Basil updated the map meanwhile the sailors were preparing the claiming ceremony. - No ! No ! Esteban ! I said no weapons ! Leave your gun in the row boat ! I don't want you to afraid any native if they are here ! you should have brought an axe instead... Grumbled Felipe to his man. Felipe Planted the flag and the King's officer on board registered it : - I, Senor Felipe de la Manzana, claim this land in the name of the king of Eslandola, for the country, and for gold ! I am naming this place : Portal Cove and I want it registered as property of Eslandola, of the Crown and of MAESTRO ! After the ceremony was finished, The Crown's officer returned into the rowboat with his "official stuff" (mainly a pupitre with ink and paper) and Felipe took Basil with him in order to look at this strange building and also in order to plan the jungle cutting and the orchards planting... - Be careful Felipe ! I heard something ! Basil said to his friend. - Yes, that's why I will go forward to see... They passed the portal and what they saw is... For the next build ! Thank you for reading. Enjoy ! and see you for the next Challenge 1 MOC for the continuation of the story.
  22. Contrary to the lies Eslandolans are spreading to the Old world (probably to hinder our advance and occupation of these new lands), Oleanders aren't "savages". Well not the kind of savages that murder native population... After the initial unrest caused by the landing of our benevolent troops, which forced the natives into hiding, things calmed down. Hugo even took an (armored, you never know) bodyguard and visited a local village. Careful at first, the natives quickly opened up and they even offered a tour around the village showing the various aspects of their living. Hugo's mind filled with new stuff he never imagined possible. The thing that impressed him the most, was the way locals foraged some huge banana growing palm trees. They used trained monkeys tied with a rope that did all the hard work for them by climbing up the trees and bringing banana fruits to their handlers. Life had never been easier! Voila some natives in action. Once again forgive my photographing environment (my old trusted glass table on the balcony), since i haven't created a photo-booth with a white background yet. But these straw kind-of-fence, does the trick by transporting us to more exotic places, doesn't it? Close up
  23. The natives also know how to sail! they go out to fish, maybe even trade with other islands. This couple has caught enough fish for today and are heading home. @moderator, I mistakenly put 'cat B' in the title, can anyone change that to 'cat A' ? please, thank you)

  25. After weeks of sailing, The Knight of Stedor arrived at a desolated beach, unknown to the current maps. Captain Ben D'anvers yelled to his crew: "Time for a break and start exploring lazy sundayworkers!" An explosion of joy was the answer! Finally they discovered an island! Once disembarked, Officer Giancarlo noticed a small wooden structure in the middle of the beach. He pointed it out to Captain Ben and together they walked curiously to the mystical shrine. "Huh, this is a strange place", officer Giancarlo said "look at that small statue with the funny hat". Captain Ben D'Anvers was looking around him. This certainly is something very uncommon. He knew there were natives found on one of the other islands closeby, but he recognised the helmet from one of his trips to the National History Museum of Corrington. "That's a viking helmet" Ben said "and I guess that blue statue under it was the original wearer of that helmet." "But it still is a strange shrine then, look at those shields above it..." Giancarlo replied. "Wait a minute, this is not just a shrine, I think we are standing on a stranded Drakar!!! That really looks like a stern of a vessel to me" answered Ben a little bit too loud because suddenly... .. Suddenly 2 norse warriors ran towards them, their weapons swinging in the air... "Soldiers! Here!" yelled Ben... Quickly 2 MAESTRO-soldiers entered the scene of action, pointing their muskets to the warriors. They never saw something like that before and thought it was just a wooden stick, so they started laughing, not at all frightened by the gunpower of the soldiers. So one of the 2 soldiers aimed for a flying bird and shot it down. Now the 2 vikings stopped and looked in awe to the magical weapon their opponent had "That was close" Ben sighed. "Thanks for coming so quicklyi" He bowed for the Viking warriors. Meanwhile one of the soldiers brought a chest full of shiny golden stuff and opened it in front of the 2 Vikings. Stunned by all the gold and understanding this act of friendship, they bowed towards Captain Ben D'Anvers and said something in an unknown language before pointing their hands to an invisible place somewhere in the woods. They started walking and guiding our explorers into the woods. The 2 MAESTRO-Soldiers constanlty watched out to ensure the safety of their masters. Giancarlo whispered "Why do you gave them gold, they are barbarians and I guess they can't offer us anything valuable". Captain Ben D'Anvers replied: "You know Vikings attacked our homelands 300 years ago. They are the ancestors of the modern day Kingdoms of The Great Raider, west of Corrington and Oleon. But they didn't only raid villages in the east, they also explored the seas west of their homeland. Somehow one of these ships has stranded here and I guess their captain died too soon, so they never had the possibility to return. If these stories are true, we may find prove the world is round. If so, they should have somewhere ancient maps of the unknown area east of where we are now. That would give us a big advantage over our competitors!" Is Captain Ben D'Anvers right about this? The future will tell!! To be continued!!! C&C welcome!!! Some more pictures:
