  2. The commissioning of Cormorant has opened up a new path to small entrepreneurs or adventurers, here we have the Jacques brothers, who have invested their savings in a small cutter, filled it with vegetables and fruits, and sailed away. I really liked Keymonus's boat so I decided to try my hand. The hull measures 34 studs long and 9 studs wide, the hull is shaped by hinges and connected to the bottom plate with hinges as well. It's supposed to be a class 1 cutter, unarmed, it should count on maneuvrability to outrun a pirate. C&C are welcome. Vive le Roi!
  3. Here is my section of the Cactus Brick display that was put on at the Phoenix Comicon. The club coordinated on making a large diorama depicting the colonial's efforts to battle the pirates for domination of the sea. Enjoy! 4. (believe it or not, but this is the first finished ship I am presenten on EB) I present to you the DMDR 6, a small cutter rigged ship, used as a dispatch runner: I used MSPaint to show some stays as that isn't really feasible in LDD. For pictures with (or without) you can check my Flickr (link in the signature), also some WIP pictures there, if you are curious about the hull shape. (Not a full hull but it continuous a bit below the water. Principle dimensions: LOA 58 studs BOA 14 studs Hull length 41 studs Waterline 35 studs Mast height above deck (not counting the spar for the gaff tops'l) 42 studs If you have questions like, what is she doing here, where is she going, who owns her, what does DMDR stand for. They will be answered when she docks :) All C & C most welcome. Bart

    Isles of Aura: 'Shrooms!

I realized recently that it has been far too long since I’ve done a build for the Isles of Aura. I also have been wanting to get to the tree tutorial that I promised for the trees in my Allanar Forest build. So I decided to hit two birds with one stone, and make an IoA build with the tree on it. Keep your eyes out for the tutorial which will be coming later this week! Dear Journal, I took advantage of the pleasant weather today to explore among some smaller islands not far from home. While I have been to all of them before, you never know what sorts of new plants or animals one might find. My trip was rewarded with the discovery of some nicely ripened mushrooms – dinner will have an extra treat tonight! ~Little John More pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, and as always, C&C is very welcome
  6. In the months following the Historican Civil War, strange vessels were seen racing on the winds off the eastern coasts of Nocturnus and Mitgardia. No one knew their origin, and the folk that piloted them spoke in a strange and antiquated manner, if they ever came close enough to communicate at all.
  7. Hi there, I'm barely active anymore but i finally finished my old WIP from the 4011 "Cabin Cruiser" remake from 1991. Its completely brick build without using hull elements. Fits about 6 Minifigs inside. For a scale comparisson i included a 1/43 scale model car i recently finished aswell. Hope you like it, comments and critics welcome, more pics will follow... 8. Hello, I am interested in building a 1/144 scale battleship. Does anyone have plans for your boats or a resource I could use to help myself make a 1/144 scale battleship? I can get blueprints and ship plans for the SS Suffren. This is the battleship I would like to build. I'd love to look at blueprints and any plans ya'll have for building boats so I can try my hand at it. I'll be honest, I haven't built MOC in years.... Like 15. I've built with plans and even eyeball like a puzzle with my daughters. Some of this is my own rekindled passion after taking the girls to legoland and getting them some sets to build. They like to build and marvel. That's fine by me. I did that some myself. Eventually, all my sets became part of the melting pot until my lot was sold. I don't know what it would cost to get a decent set of bricks to try and build an MOC. I went ahead and downloaded LDD to try and get started. I'm curious how well I can do with it. I'm also curious how I can go from a LDD model to purchasing bricks so I can display this like I would want to do. My end game is to build it and sink it in my aquarium to enjoy as a massive ornament. Is it possible to get plans for the pirate ships at the lego scale model exhibit? Those were awesome! The blueprint shows the full hull. The top is water line up from the side and the bottom is in action renamed in 1944. I don't think this ship class was ever bedazzled but if anyone has experience with dazzling or can offer to the idea for an MOC, I'm all ears.

    Brickton harbour

Hello All, For the last 1,5 year I've been building on a habour scene. I called the town Bickton Harbour. In this 1,5 year I have built 5 buikdings and several ships. It started with Harpers baitshop. A small wooden building on a pier. After this model I designed and built Gilbert. A fuel and oil company: But what is a harbour without ships. I had a few ships around but they were all to big in scale and size to fit this scene. So I built a LEGO City style trawler and somewhat later an American style tugboat. Brickton harbor is taking shape by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Tugger 1 is also on LEGO ideas, so....... when I put this all together it looks like this: And then the following problem: the catched fish needs to be brought to land, so i needed some fishing company. When I had built that I thought that the green trawler was somewhat small. And again I built a ship. This time a Shrimpboat. One ship let to another and now the company Patterson Seafood owns 2 shrimpboats. This piece of my harbour scene was on display at Skearbeak 2017: The last 2 buildings I have added are a shipchandler called O'Donnell Brothers and a small railway Freigt Depot from BR (Brickton Railways) Last week I connected everthing together and this is the result. The train in my harbour is a modified copy of the EMD model 40 from commander wolf. The darkblue fishingboat is a modified copy of a model from Mr.Zumbi.

    Boat Repair Shop

My story For this modular (creator) building was that the Boat Repair Shop is based for a creation to fit in the Sea front Village. I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest for fans of my Sea front Village sets. This is the second of a series of modular (creator} buildings that I will be submitting. Summary If you're looking for trusted boat repair in Sea Front Village you've found the right place. With a full team of highly-trained technicians, Our Service Department has become one of the most trusted boat repair shops in Sea Front Village. From plastic boat repair to marine engine repair. our state-of-the-art equipment will get you back on the water as quickly as possible. The following is a list of the boat repair shop items: Minifig: Technicians (Carpenters), Captain, Fishing man. Boat: 2 type models, Tools: Drill, Screwdriver, Saw and more. The building consists of roughly 2460 parts and a boat ramp with a crane, work floor, and storage- attic. I used the colors sand yellow and olive green for the building that gives it a realistic feeling. And Siding technique for the clapboards. The roof just sits on the recess so it’s easy to take of and put on. If you like this design or the idea of the Boat Repair Shop – Modular (Creator) Building http://ideas.lego.com/projects/129623 please support and follow, thanks for reading and Brick On everyone !

  12. Hi everyone, Me and my brother are planning to build an Adventurers layout based on the Desert and Jungle series. My brother will build the Desert part of the landscape and I will build the Amazon part. I have started with the vehicles, because if I start building the landscape, I do not have the parts for the vehicles. I have built several cars (I think 12). 4 of those cars will be used in a town The left car is a little based based on the Island Racer of the Dino Island. I have created one jeep inspired from a jeep of Indiana Jones. It was the idea to make the jeep 7 studs wide. I have created another car and someone compared it with the car of Donald Duck. The focus was on the mudguards. I have created a ship/boat based on the River Expedition set of the Amazone. The boat has another color scheme than the set, but the structure is almost the same. For more pictures you can see them in the Flickr album. Various Adventurers Creations I still need to take some pictures of other cars. I will do that at the end of the week. Questions and feedback are welcome. Sander

    [MOC] River Cruise

Hi everyone, let me know if i post in the wrong category. This is my River Cruise set. I think is really good and playable, with a lot of details. The boat and the ticket office can be opened. The riverside consist in three modules, the corner one can be opened to show the sewer. Any advise or improvements to do? For sure can do a better rendering and maybe there are too many smooth surfaces. 14. A couple of months ago i give you some sneak preview of the superyacht i was building. it's build in commission for the brooker of the real ship as a pressent for his client and stand with pride on the real one. The real yacht is build by the Dutch AMELS yard in Vlissingen and is 180 feet (55 m) long and custom fit out. I got only two months deadline to build the model, with just over 14000 parts and is 1.03 meter long and my doghter helps me with some part of the build. Also whe got a great tour together on the real yacht and got a trip whe never forget.
  15. Our brave captain Jean Lebarbu has recently acquired a new ship boat, not quite new in fact, to be frank, it's a refurbished pirate boat, abandoned on the drydock for twenty years. Luckily for him, the boat was sturdy built and has resisted to weathering and erosion. He recruited two men wandering in the Eltina Shipyard, which is undergoing a strike, and "borrowed" some materials from the workshop. After one day of hard work, the boat was ready. Time to set sail and do some smuggling. This is a quick built, completed in a couple of hours. I built it for my son in exchange of the Destiny's Bounty intercepted by him, i told him that he can keep all the ninjas and all the weapons and gadgets, along with a new ship from dad's shipyard, and he agreed.

  18. Hello to all LEGO fans. This time I present with great pride this slighgtly biger creation. Concept SUV, Concept catamaran and boat trailer. The whole thing I built exactly 10 months. I know, I'm not the fastest. On the end I am wery happy with the result. For already in the start, I set myself the objective to build it so, that must be all functioning as the real thing and not like a static model. Jupiiiii. I made it. Some pictures of the hole thing. The whole thing is 135 centimeters long and weigt 6.1 kilograms. Pictures of the SUV The characteristics of the car are: Dimensions: LxWxH = 48 x 23 x 17 centimeters weight is 2.8 kilograms Powered by 4 PF L motors connected together in a four-wheel-drive 1 PF M motor for steering The ride height is over 1 PF M motor 2 speed gearbox is over 1 PF M motor and because I wanted to have only 2 PF IR receivers and thus were available only 4 Functions I made a special mechanism over this output for locking an unlocking front and rear differential. Yes very complicated mechanism, but it works. Maybe I'll present it in what specific topic. As already mentioned 2 PF IR receiver 1 big PF battery box And some other features such as, for example, door opening, adjustable sunshades above the windscreen, independent suspension, soft suspension when the car is in a higher position and hard when in the low position. Functional steering wheel and lots of minor fuctions. And some pictures and words of the boat trailer. Dimensions: LxWxH = 87 x 23 x 12 centimeters weight is 1.1 kilograms And does not contain any PF components. I wanted to motorize a little, but it was already too kitschy. Hehehehe It has a kind of fold axis or bether to say a buggy suspension to facilitate the running and manually adjustable front parking leg. And the last thing. The catamaran. Yeah, what I should mention. This one thing was one nightmare for me. And also give me maximum joy and challenge. Yes there was a lot of testing in their own building. Because everything had to be really precise in balance, each gram of the position on the ship influence to on his right position in the water. In fact, I can almost say that I assembled in the bath. And yes I made it that the ship is completely perfectly balanced. Oh yes, i am sooooo happy with the result. Dimensions: LxWxH = 75 x 26 x 14 centimeters Weight is 2.2 kilograms Driven by 2 RC Buggy motors, each with their own propeller Steering is over 1 PF M motor. The servo output via RC Buggy unit was catastrophic, because I wanted to make a more precise behavior and turning the ship. Basis boat are 2 LEGO boats linked together in catamaran. That would be all for now. And the video. Thans for watching this contribution, and i hope you enjoyed it. Best regards, Valter

    Qasr Albahr

Built for the large miscellaneous category of the 14th Colossal Castle Contest. The scene was inspired by this image. It took about 2 weeks to build, and weighs 24.8 pounds, making it my largest solo build ever. Setting up the buildings layout and connecting them via bridges was the most challenging part, though the rockwork was most time consuming to build. Qasr Albahr is a large trade citadel in the Spice Islands of Kaliphlin. It serves as a hub of the trade between the islands and mainland Kaliphlin. Its climbing bridges and ornate walls are well known throughout Historica. Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, all C&C appreciated

  22. Hey, guys: It's been a while since my last post. Please let me present my latest moc: Top Fuel Hydroplane. During this build, I tried to keep the original look of it and also included the "Wheel Drive Mechanism". My Detailed Version Features: V8; Electric, Fuel and Forced Induction Systems; 2 Counter Rotating Propellers, transmission and clutch, adjustable flaps and 2 drag chute bags (The two engine blocks at the very end) . The main idea is really put this boat on top of a Top Fuel Dragster..) Video:
  23. Hi all, Here comes a micro build of a crusing yacht. I wanted to do something with very few bricks, like a 8 - 15 piece challenge. To present it, i wanted some brick build water in a "wave" formation, to give it some realism. Instruction pic included. enjoy :D Feel free to ask, comment etc... micro yacht by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr micro yacht instructions by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

This 4A vessel was seeking to protect the fleet under it's protection. The captain had seen many battles and had lost a leg to a sword wound a few years back. He knew how to deal with pirates... or so he thought. It was a fierce battle between his crew and Captain Sulu's. But in the end Captain Sulu prevailed.
