  1. In the months following the Historican Civil War, strange vessels were seen racing on the winds off the eastern coasts of Nocturnus and Mitgardia. No one knew their origin, and the folk that piloted them spoke in a strange and antiquated manner, if they ever came close enough to communicate at all.
  2. Hi there, I'm barely active anymore but i finally finished my old WIP from the 4011 "Cabin Cruiser" remake from 1991. Its completely brick build without using hull elements. Fits about 6 Minifigs inside. For a scale comparisson i included a 1/43 scale model car i recently finished aswell. Hope you like it, comments and critics welcome, more pics will follow... 3. Hello, I am interested in building a 1/144 scale battleship. Does anyone have plans for your boats or a resource I could use to help myself make a 1/144 scale battleship? I can get blueprints and ship plans for the SS Suffren. This is the battleship I would like to build. I'd love to look at blueprints and any plans ya'll have for building boats so I can try my hand at it. I'll be honest, I haven't built MOC in years.... Like 15. I've built with plans and even eyeball like a puzzle with my daughters. Some of this is my own rekindled passion after taking the girls to legoland and getting them some sets to build. They like to build and marvel. That's fine by me. I did that some myself. Eventually, all my sets became part of the melting pot until my lot was sold. I don't know what it would cost to get a decent set of bricks to try and build an MOC. I went ahead and downloaded LDD to try and get started. I'm curious how well I can do with it. I'm also curious how I can go from a LDD model to purchasing bricks so I can display this like I would want to do. My end game is to build it and sink it in my aquarium to enjoy as a massive ornament. Is it possible to get plans for the pirate ships at the lego scale model exhibit? Those were awesome! The blueprint shows the full hull. The top is water line up from the side and the bottom is in action renamed in 1944. I don't think this ship class was ever bedazzled but if anyone has experience with dazzling or can offer to the idea for an MOC, I'm all ears.

    Brickton harbour

Hello All, For the last 1,5 year I've been building on a habour scene. I called the town Bickton Harbour. In this 1,5 year I have built 5 buikdings and several ships. It started with Harpers baitshop. A small wooden building on a pier. After this model I designed and built Gilbert. A fuel and oil company: But what is a harbour without ships. I had a few ships around but they were all to big in scale and size to fit this scene. So I built a LEGO City style trawler and somewhat later an American style tugboat. Brickton harbor is taking shape by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Tugger 1 is also on LEGO ideas, so....... when I put this all together it looks like this: And then the following problem: the catched fish needs to be brought to land, so i needed some fishing company. When I had built that I thought that the green trawler was somewhat small. And again I built a ship. This time a Shrimpboat. One ship let to another and now the company Patterson Seafood owns 2 shrimpboats. This piece of my harbour scene was on display at Skearbeak 2017: The last 2 buildings I have added are a shipchandler called O'Donnell Brothers and a small railway Freigt Depot from BR (Brickton Railways) Last week I connected everthing together and this is the result. The train in my harbour is a modified copy of the EMD model 40 from commander wolf. The darkblue fishingboat is a modified copy of a model from Mr.Zumbi.

    [MOC] River Cruise

Hi everyone, let me know if i post in the wrong category. This is my River Cruise set. I think is really good and playable, with a lot of details. The boat and the ticket office can be opened. The riverside consist in three modules, the corner one can be opened to show the sewer. Any advise or improvements to do? For sure can do a better rendering and maybe there are too many smooth surfaces. 7. A couple of months ago i give you some sneak preview of the superyacht i was building. it's build in commission for the brooker of the real ship as a pressent for his client and stand with pride on the real one. The real yacht is build by the Dutch AMELS yard in Vlissingen and is 180 feet (55 m) long and custom fit out. I got only two months deadline to build the model, with just over 14000 parts and is 1.03 meter long and my doghter helps me with some part of the build. Also whe got a great tour together on the real yacht and got a trip whe never forget.
  8. Our brave captain Jean Lebarbu has recently acquired a new ship boat, not quite new in fact, to be frank, it's a refurbished pirate boat, abandoned on the drydock for twenty years. Luckily for him, the boat was sturdy built and has resisted to weathering and erosion. He recruited two men wandering in the Eltina Shipyard, which is undergoing a strike, and "borrowed" some materials from the workshop. After one day of hard work, the boat was ready. Time to set sail and do some smuggling. This is a quick built, completed in a couple of hours. I built it for my son in exchange of the Destiny's Bounty intercepted by him, i told him that he can keep all the ninjas and all the weapons and gadgets, along with a new ship from dad's shipyard, and he agreed.
  9. Here is my section of the Cactus Brick display that was put on at the Phoenix Comicon. The club coordinated on making a large diorama depicting the colonial's efforts to battle the pirates for domination of the sea. Enjoy! 10. The Jade Dragon is steampunk boat ,I made it digitally using LDD and rendered it with bluerender. Thanks for looking.
  11. Hey guys, I just finished putting together this cool little aircraft carrier and I wanted to share the instructions with you so here you go :) Link to instructions: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwunF-qOHu-ANDRJMG1MUHJRSFE/view?usp=sharing
  12. I like to present you my Lego town Steinbruck. The name is from Stein=brick & bruck(old German)=bridge. This is my current layout: My MOC and MOD buildings (more detail pictures in the albums; just click the pictures to get there): I'm planning a car wash for the Service Station and will build it in the next months. I also build digital, but can't afford all of them to build with bricks. Click to album.
  13. Inspired by the Speed Champions cars. Last year I built a car showroom to show them off. Al's Autos is built on 3 large baseplates. On the left baseplate the blue and white sign has doubled sided brick plate writing and rotates on a Technic turntable. The showroom has a roller door entry behind the office on the left. It is fully tiled inside and lit with PF LEDs. On the right baseplate the brown turntable also rotates on a Technic turntable. The footpath is designed to match up to the Modular footpaths. My own creation cars are a Pick Up truck with removable Camper. A Ford GT40 reverse engineered from a LEGO YouTube movie. The black Pontiac is a KITT replica and has a working red LED scanner in the front. Next was a service centre / workshop for the showroom. The back section is a parts department. On the right are two service bays. The front one has a working Technic pneumatic hoist. Also PF LED lighting. The shipping containers can fit a Speed Champions car or spare parts. To keep the cars clean I next built a car wash. This has a working Technic based linear actuator to move the brushes back and forward over the car. So after a long day. It's off to the Drive In movies. The diner has a projection room, kitchen, counter, seating and toilet. My own creation cars are two NYPD police cars with working light bars. A yellow NY taxi. The two Porsche 911's are modified with brick headlights and door handles. The ambulance has working LED light bars, headlights and taillights One day I will get around to doing close up and interior photos.
  14. Hi everyone, Me and my brother are planning to build an Adventurers layout based on the Desert and Jungle series. My brother will build the Desert part of the landscape and I will build the Amazon part. I have started with the vehicles, because if I start building the landscape, I do not have the parts for the vehicles. I have built several cars (I think 12). 4 of those cars will be used in a town The left car is a little based based on the Island Racer of the Dino Island. I have created one jeep inspired from a jeep of Indiana Jones. It was the idea to make the jeep 7 studs wide. I have created another car and someone compared it with the car of Donald Duck. The focus was on the mudguards. I have created a ship/boat based on the River Expedition set of the Amazone. The boat has another color scheme than the set, but the structure is almost the same. For more pictures you can see them in the Flickr album. Various Adventurers Creations I still need to take some pictures of other cars. I will do that at the end of the week. Questions and feedback are welcome. Sander

    Qasr Albahr

Built for the large miscellaneous category of the 14th Colossal Castle Contest. The scene was inspired by this image. It took about 2 weeks to build, and weighs 24.8 pounds, making it my largest solo build ever. Setting up the buildings layout and connecting them via bridges was the most challenging part, though the rockwork was most time consuming to build. Qasr Albahr is a large trade citadel in the Spice Islands of Kaliphlin. It serves as a hub of the trade between the islands and mainland Kaliphlin. Its climbing bridges and ornate walls are well known throughout Historica. Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, all C&C appreciated

  18. Hey, guys: It's been a while since my last post. Please let me present my latest moc: Top Fuel Hydroplane. During this build, I tried to keep the original look of it and also included the "Wheel Drive Mechanism". My Detailed Version Features: V8; Electric, Fuel and Forced Induction Systems; 2 Counter Rotating Propellers, transmission and clutch, adjustable flaps and 2 drag chute bags (The two engine blocks at the very end) . The main idea is really put this boat on top of a Top Fuel Dragster..) Video:
  19. Hi all, Here comes a micro build of a crusing yacht. I wanted to do something with very few bricks, like a 8 - 15 piece challenge. To present it, i wanted some brick build water in a "wave" formation, to give it some realism. Instruction pic included. enjoy :D Feel free to ask, comment etc... micro yacht by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr micro yacht instructions by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr
  20. Hello to all LEGO fans. This time I present with great pride this slighgtly biger creation. Concept SUV, Concept catamaran and boat trailer. The whole thing I built exactly 10 months. I know, I'm not the fastest. On the end I am wery happy with the result. For already in the start, I set myself the objective to build it so, that must be all functioning as the real thing and not like a static model. Jupiiiii. I made it. Some pictures of the hole thing. The whole thing is 135 centimeters long and weigt 6.1 kilograms. Pictures of the SUV The characteristics of the car are: Dimensions: LxWxH = 48 x 23 x 17 centimeters weight is 2.8 kilograms Powered by 4 PF L motors connected together in a four-wheel-drive 1 PF M motor for steering The ride height is over 1 PF M motor 2 speed gearbox is over 1 PF M motor and because I wanted to have only 2 PF IR receivers and thus were available only 4 Functions I made a special mechanism over this output for locking an unlocking front and rear differential. Yes very complicated mechanism, but it works. Maybe I'll present it in what specific topic. As already mentioned 2 PF IR receiver 1 big PF battery box And some other features such as, for example, door opening, adjustable sunshades above the windscreen, independent suspension, soft suspension when the car is in a higher position and hard when in the low position. Functional steering wheel and lots of minor fuctions. And some pictures and words of the boat trailer. Dimensions: LxWxH = 87 x 23 x 12 centimeters weight is 1.1 kilograms And does not contain any PF components. I wanted to motorize a little, but it was already too kitschy. Hehehehe It has a kind of fold axis or bether to say a buggy suspension to facilitate the running and manually adjustable front parking leg. And the last thing. The catamaran. Yeah, what I should mention. This one thing was one nightmare for me. And also give me maximum joy and challenge. Yes there was a lot of testing in their own building. Because everything had to be really precise in balance, each gram of the position on the ship influence to on his right position in the water. In fact, I can almost say that I assembled in the bath. And yes I made it that the ship is completely perfectly balanced. Oh yes, i am sooooo happy with the result. Dimensions: LxWxH = 75 x 26 x 14 centimeters Weight is 2.2 kilograms Driven by 2 RC Buggy motors, each with their own propeller Steering is over 1 PF M motor. The servo output via RC Buggy unit was catastrophic, because I wanted to make a more precise behavior and turning the ship. Basis boat are 2 LEGO boats linked together in catamaran. That would be all for now. And the video. Thans for watching this contribution, and i hope you enjoyed it. Best regards, Valter
  21. OoC: Please note that this vessel is being registered as The Darting Frog, a 4A I captured in the last MCRA. Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon Freddy's Trained Chickens The Viper Jail Break! Cantu's House Even a Pirate Has a Sweet Tooth La Oleon Captain's Cabin Tropical Fruit Decision Lumber Camp Freddy's Big Haul The Golden Dragon The Capture of "El Polla" Swamp Raid Pirate Lagoon Palm Tree Inn Statues of Justice Secrets in the Hold Pirate Dojo Sinbad's Choice The Piranha's Plunder While Li, Sinbad, and the rest of the crew were trying to track down the treasure, another ESL ship the Darting Frog was trading shots with Captain Sulu. This 4A vessel was seeking to protect the fleet under it's protection. The captain had seen many battles and had lost a leg to a sword wound a few years back. He knew how to deal with pirates... or so he thought. It was a fierce battle between his crew and Captain Sulu's. But in the end Captain Sulu prevailed.

[Challenge 5] [Cat B] The Twin Tooth

On Farmolis's Famous Octan Olympic Arena, where all the best and brightest athletes have come to train! Including none other than Dr. Danielle Long, who was surprised to wake up to a holo-mail from CEO Pombe, requesting her presence at the games... on penalty of forfeiture of shares... Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Dr. Long: "this looks like and engine attached to a cockpit with two wings. Is this even a boat?" Engineer: "Yup! Class 1, F. Speed class 2, $ 1, C 0, W 0." Dr. Long: "What?" Engineer: "Do you disagree with my classification? I mean, it's clearly a catamaran." Dr. Long: "I don't know what that means." Engineer: "I thought you liked boats! Isn't that why you insisted on using the Cog? I mean, apart from the fact that "Cog" is the name of a medieval ship, I can't see why you would have loyal to the brand name." Dr. Long: "Cog is a type of boat?" Engineer: "yes. From the medieval Era of European history." Dr. Long: "and was that before or after the Egyptians?" Engineer: "After." Dr. Long: "huh. I'm not a history expert." Engineer: "yeah, Let's stick to sci-fi." Dr. Long: "Sci-fi?" Engineer: "I meant science." Dr. Long: "So, this thing doesn't have controls. How do I pilot it?" Engineer: "the AI pilots for you, but you can override and control it with your helmet." Dr. Long. "Thank the stars. I despise pointless self endangerment like this, so it'd be best if the AI took care of that. Also I've never pilotted a boat." Octan Olympics! by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr

    [Challenge 5][Cat B] Slipwave

Slipwave is a heavily modified racing boat constructed by a team of MANTIS marine engineers and special forces agents on Sorn. The need to ensure critical MANTIS operations could continue following the planet's capture by Kawashita, the team developed a craft both fast and quiet by levitating the rear engine section out of the water and propelling it with an extra pair of anti-gravity engines mounted at 90 degrees. Compared to more traditional aquatic propulsion methods, the anti-grav engines are less powerful than hydro-jets and less responsive than propellors but with such a small displacement, resistance from the water is minimised allowing them deliver comparable power-to-weight ratios. The overdrive boosters positioned amidships burn Nitronium Oxide to super heat the anti-matter in the repulsers and provide more power but the system overheats quickly, utilising two dump-valves on each side to expel unburnt fuel and heat when the anti-matter reaches critical temperatures. The rear is suspended by two angled anti-matter repulsers which also steer the craft. The front-end maximised aero and hydro-dynamicity by reducing displacement and air/water resistance. Technical cutaway of front-end. Scrutineering: Thank you for looking.

  25. My next entry into the Space Olympic Games, for the Boat category: The Awkward Turtle Designed to allow the driver to see what's under him in the water, this unique boat provides great visibility in all directions for enhanced tactical planning during a race. It barely fits within 10x20, but it does fit.
