  1. Finished my second rahkshi today, this one is a remake of vorahk. Its bulkier than the other one I built, since he needs a strong frame to support all that stolen strength. the staff is massive, but fairly light. its ridiculous size is deceptive, the creature drags it behind him into battle, but is swinging it easily after absorbing some power. It actually is modeled after g1 vorahk's staff piece, but HUGE. As before, there is a flight mode, multi-purpose staff, functioning kraata chamber and a waist function. RAHKSHI OF STEROIDS!!! A stage 2 hunger kraata, trying to do a different one in each rahkshi I build. And the flight mode pics are terrible. it looks hilariously stupid with the staff in this configuration. Anyway, now onto Turahk...

    Makuta the corrupted maskmaker

Hello! I finally made something for Rebrick Makuta contest. Pictures are clickable. Any comments are welcome and good luck to all, who participate!
  3. Seeing as JTO Makuta was a combiner model. I thought I'd take a crack at making a Makuta that used soley pieces from the purple sets. The sets used in this combiner are Protector of Earth Onua Master of Earth Skull Basher Terak Creature of Earth Onua Uniter of Earth Quake Beast Mask of Control from Umarak the Hunter. With that out of the way here are the pictures http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_1.jpg http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_2.jpg http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_3.jpg http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_4.jpg http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_5.jpg http://www.brickshel...or_makuta_6.jpg Comments and criticism appreciated

    MOC: "Rahi Rex" (Working name)

I did a T. Rex-based theropod dinosaur Rahi a while back, but I guess I never got around to posting it. I photographed it today for posterity before I broke it up for parts. I designed it with the idea of fitting in with the original Rahi sets. It has a mask that can be knocked off, and a rubber band-powered attack function (pull the lever for an arm to wind up a slash, then release to strike). I'm going to see if I can recreate it in LDD or an LDraw client, with an actual planned color scheme and a Spinosaurus-based counterpart (to further match the Year 1 Rahi sets), and I hope to recreate it for real someday.
  5. Here’s my entry to the Rebrick “Show Us Your Makuta” contest - Makuta: Brute of Shadow! This model features a swivelling waist and swinging arms, both controlled via the knobs on his back. Entry page (give it a like!)
  6. Hey guys, thought I'd try to flesh out my CCBS skills for once. I was really handy with the G1 constraction system, but with CCBS it just doesn't feel like things fit together right for me yet. And then I saw the Rebrick.lego.com contest. I absolutely love Bionicle, and I would kill to have a signed art book and a complete G2 collection. But murder is illegal, and wouldn't get me the signed art book, so I had to build. I think I have the legs and body down pretty solid, I might add wings to it, but I'm not feeling like it's done. Any criticisms or advice? This is the main body shot. I don't have the mask of ultimate power, since I can't find any of the new sets at my Target, ToysRUs, or Lego Store, but I made do with what I have. And this is a close up of one of the hands. I still haven't built any weapons for Makuta, Lord of Shadows, but it's possible to place them in his hand due to a technic hole from the technic beam w/ ball joint I'm using to support the thumbs. One thing I'm really worried about is filling out the stomach, below the chest. I built this off of a heavily modified and stripped General Grievous, which gives it sizable bulk, but it does lack attachment points for more shells. Photo for scale. He's more than twice as tall as Tahu, and probably uses 4 times a many pieces. I don't have a cape large enough in my collection for him, unless I decide to cut up a t-shirt, which I don't have any black ones to use. This MOC is in essence my farewell to Bionicle, in the wake of its cancellation. Any criticisms? I want to get this thing polished up before I enter it in the contest.
  7. I must say, this year is much better then last year, thanks to more technic build. Pohatu was the worst and needed many mods. Hi everyone! This is something that I've been wanting to build since I saw the first images of the Obi-Wan Constracation Figure. I just love that head. So here goes: Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr I finally got to use some of those dark blue Ben 10 leg/arm-joints as well.
  9. Another digital MOC commission, done for lovely ghost-mantis! This time it’s Akida and Ikir, and I am very proud how they came out. Ikir’s wings actually follow the anatomy of real avians, and are properly foldable! --- Now folks remember, if you like what I do and you want to see me create your OC, a favorite Bionicle Character, or something else, feel free to look up my Commission Info!
  10. Another digital MOC commission, done for lovely ghost-mantis! She commissioned me to do my revisions of two of her favorite Elemental Creatures - Uxar and Ketar. As you all can see, I took a very drastic approach. They do not look anything like their sets, and both me and Ghost-Mantis are okay with that. I made Uxar to look like both a moth and a dragonfly, with fluffy body and long tail. As for Ketar, I just made him a scorpion which he supposed to represent. I am quite proud of this segmented back and organic pincer design. (all images are clickable, as usual) --- Now folks remember, if you like what I do and you want to see me create your OC, a favorite Bionicle Character, or something else, feel free to look up my Commission Info!
  11. Ekimu the Mask Maker My take on both forms of Ekimu the Mask Maker, a coveted character of G2 Bionicle lore. Okotan form Toa Form
  12. So, today come to me parts from lego for my version of small Makuta. Gallery: http://imgur.com/a/tZfRa
  13. So Bionicle is, for the second time, going away to the Obsolete and Retired Products Graveyard, to be laid alongside Hero Factory, Ben 10, and Galidor, among others. It's very sad it was cancelled so early it it's re-birth, barely halfway through it's second year. To celebrate it's second life through Ekimu and the island of Okoto, I have created this MOD of set 71312. (My alternate motive was because all that trans-light blue doesn't strike my fancy) It features a golden hammer with darker accents, and golden armor with an companion shield. It is also missing the main part: the mask of Creation! Sadly, the mask is not in LDD, so I left it off. Here is it at Bricklink: http://www.bricklink...age?P=20477#T=C The back of Ekimu features a part of Tahu's golden armor from the final series of original Bionicle from 2010. The hammer is mostly taken from set 71312, while the shield is from both set 70795 and 71312. The missing mask is found once more! (It's actually already in my possession, so I only need to order 99.9% of the model to complete it.) LDD file: http://www.moc-pages...1469920961m.lxf ...and yes, this MOD is 100% build-able in real life. I checked.

    [MOC] Makuta, Lord of Oblivion

My first entry for the ongoing Bionicle contest, also known under the WIP name, "Destroyer God Makuta." Never before have I built a MOC this huge (totaling 618 pieces and approximately twice the height of either of the other models I made), especially not in LDD, so building this was an interesting experience for me- in particular, having to work with LDD's often-uncooperative hinge tools. Entry page here. "This form of Makuta is not the form he takes to fight the Toa heroes. No, this form is the one Makuta takes when he has won. The last remaining members of the tribes of Okoto have expended all of their resources to stop this shadowy overlord and failed, and it has come at a great cost: the world is now barren and lifeless. Alone to rule over an empty, desolate world, Makuta wanders the planet in despair, having discarded the Mask of Ultimate Power, which is now useless to him." Fitting for such a grim alternate-universe scenario, Makuta uses primarily dark colors with the notable exception of his chest piece, which is meant to bring to mind some sort of area of high elemental energy concentration (imagine Makuta firing a laser out of there or something, hence the rather open chest that somewhat resembles a futuristic weapon system). Although the articulation of the legs at the hips would likely be somewhat stiff and quite limited, there is some degree of side-to-side motion of the upper body (to an extent which I can't really guess) thanks to a simple gear/turntable system; of note, the way the extenders are integrated into the body was inspired by the torso of ddeklerk's recent WIP, "Lockdown," and in fact part of the reason why I decided this MOC had to be so huge in the first place, and because of this, there should be at least some leniency for waist articulation, unless I'm greatly underestimating the friction of the ball joints on the ends of those pieces. This model can indeed hold the included staff, albeit not in a position like this, which involves some careful angle manipulation and the removal and addition of one or two pieces. Due to the aforementioned clumsiness of LDD's hinge tools and their interactions with Technic and CCBS pieces, this is the most visually appealing pose I could take of this feature. I hope you enjoyed this MOC.

    [MOC] Makuta of Metru Nui

This is a MOC I made years ago, circa 2012 if I recall. It's been tweaked and improved bit-by-by ever since. I've posted it on another non-Lego forum but I'd like to share and "archive" it somewhere Lego-related. :3 What started as a simple revamp of the 2003 titan quickly became much, much more. First it was a revamp, then it was a "toa-sized" Inika clone, which grew to a similarly-built shadow counterpart to 2008 Takanuva, and eventually this unique build which is not only bigger than Takanuva, but its so large it barely fits in my lightbox when crouched. (the second pic is actually just the torso, no legs so I could get a close-up on the detail) In fatc the only parts is really share with Takanuva are the hands kinda. It also has a staff that won't fit in either, but it's basically his old staff with Brutaka swords replacing the Takanuva staff blades, and said blades relocated to the bottom and the actual staff part covered with gunmetal tubes so it's not a twig in his hands. I wish I could amke stuff like this all the time, but this sucker also ate pretty much all my parts. (I am pondering a Sidorak revamp in this style, however, despite not owning the set. Much smaller of course :p) Thanks for looking!

    Makuta's Death Chariot

As you may have guessed by now, this is my first entry for the Rebrick Makuta Contest. My Makuta build itself was feeling a little "typical" with its small Toa size, simple build, and typical Makuta colors. To rectify this though, I had the vision of giving Makuta a vehicle of some sort, and he ended up with a Chariot that cobbled together a multitude of G1 and Technic pieces. Including a few G1 pieces alongside the CCBS parts was one of my building goals. I also built my first proper photo set up for the contest to get proper pictures. Unfortunately even then my build was to big to get a horizontal angled shot with a proper full white backdrop... I am considering a few more entries for the contest, but I fear that going bigger will just ruin my chance to use the photo booth I just barely built! Yes as I said before, my Makuta is actually just Toa sized, sharing a lot with the 2015 Toa. I like his look, but he doesn't seem as 'flashy' as some of the other contest entries. His reserved design though was intentionally done though to make him look like a "What Could have Been" Makuta retail set. Can you spot the G1 pieces? I am digging the ease of posebility in the smaller figure though! Try doing this with your monster sized titan! While the Skullie is a little cliche, I am in love with the greebled garbled look of the chariot. The Old G1 pieces really help create an 'underworld' look that I don't know if it could be achieved as easily with CCBS. For the most part this MOC is actually a combiner model, using pieces from Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, Umarak the Hunter, Onua Master of Earth, Pohatu Master of Stone, Skull Warrior, and the classic Vezon and Fenrahk. The wheels and plates on the chariot come from a Technic Off Road Crawler, and the G1 Manas set. You might notice I am using a hidden leg to support the chariot rather than place pressure on the wheels. The wheels can hold the model, but for static display I prefer to use the 'kickstand' leg. The chariot also has some spots to mount G2 masks on it, as if Makuta is hauling away the masks of his victims... I hope you enjoyed my entry. I am highly considering a few more Makuta builds so time will tell if I end up having quite the 'Makuta Club' to enter this contest! Thanks for looking! Please visit the actual contest entry here: http://www.lego.com/...sortEntry=false
  20. MODS 2016 Bionicle Summer Wave "Canister" Sets It’s that time of year again! Here’s my first batch of modded 2016 summer Bionicle sets. One more will be unveiled soon ;) Ekimu the Mask Maker Ekimu features a more streamlined gearbox build, more comfortably positioned shoulder pauldrons, and a port on his back to attach a clear stand for his trusty falcon. Oh, and toes. Gotta have toes. Pose, Falcon Overhead Front, Falcon perched Back, Falcon perched Pose, Falcon perched Skeleton, Torso front Skeleton, Torso back Lava Beast I loved this guy initially, but I was desperate to fill out his torso and improve his legs. He also gets a full Shadow Trap, much like his brothers. Front Back Front, Stood straight Detail, Lower legs Skeleton, Torso Front Skeleton, Torso back Storm Beast Not much has been altered aesthetically with this fella, but his mechanism has been modified slightly to accommodate some traditional friction gears. Front Back Pose, Slashing Skeleton, Torso back Skeleton, Torso front Quake Beast Quake Beast received quite the aesthetic overhaul, along with a more standard gear function for his crystalline clubbing arm. Front Back Detail, Crystal Club Detail, Clawed hand Detail, Shadow Trap Detail, Bracing for attack Skeleton, Torso front Skeleton, Torso Back Skeleton, Crystal Club
  21. I really liked big Ekimu, but he had few issues that I decided to fix (mainly a little too much of trans blue color and strange pads): rebuild legs; rebuild torso (a little rough method to connect, in better way gearbox with new torso), rebuild hammer; added cape from polybag; Big gallery (also pics with gold version of mask, and other torso armors)

    [MOC] Claw Beast (LDD)

When building Bionicle MOCs, I'm the kind of person who often starts by seeing a particular piece or two and then decides to build the whole thing around that piece; this build is no different. I started by trying to make a generic Toa frame, but stumbled across the Av-Matoran leg in the parts section- you know, that piece so hated by so many G1 Bionicle fans? I decided that I should try to put it to good use! Gallery when public: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=565293 Despite the generic name- sorry, I'm not too good at coming up with names on the fly- Claw Beast has a pretty interesting, albeit somewhat simple, build. In order to accommodate both the dual Av-Matoran legs and the gearbox, I had to make some extra space toward the back. Normally, a Technic beam would accomplish what I wanted, but I'm not that kind of person; I wanted something more unique than what I usually do! So I just stuck a Protector torso to the back and called it a day. The addition of this piece, along with the Av-Matoran legs, afforded some interesting possibilities: though I had intended the leg pieces to hold some sort of armor, with the leg joints of the larger torso being the actual legs of the creature, eventually, I reversed this decision as I was putting the torso armor on, realizing how impractical that would be, along with the fact that the weird shape of the Av-Matoran legs make such a connection possible simplistically. With both the frontal armor and the Av-Matoran legs in the way, the available joints of the Protector torso became the perfect spot to put another set of arms with wide enough spacing from the upper arms as to not impede motion significantly. However, due to all the added bulk, the sides of the gearbox had to be widened as to allow the arms some distance (they should be able to move as long as they're not completely vertical). I finished off the build with the feet and head, both which were intended to be somewhat avian in design to suggest that this creature might just be a mutated bird. More pictures below.

    MOCformers!

Hello all, just thought I'd share some of my Transformers characters built using primarily Bionicle, Technic, and CCBS pieces. Each of my Transformers follows what I would call the typical "rules" of a transformers toy, being that they can each transform completely without removing any pieces - except for weapons. I have many of these already built, but I have yet to take good photos of them. In the meanwhile, here are pictures of two of my favorites, Crimson Claw and Downforce Crimson Claw: A fierce hunter and always loyal to his fellow Autobots and Maximals, Crimson Claw is a natural leader and warrior. He uses his energon saber to slice through enemy Decepticons and Predacons with ease as he calls out commands to his allies. In his Lion-Mode, he can deploy two wing-blades from his thighs to further slash his opponents as he runs through battle. More photos in spoiler below: Downforce: The fastest bot around, Downforce uses his immense speed to scout ahead and inform his fellow Autobots of any Decepticon activity surrounding them. Armed with a wide array of weapons in Robot-Mode, Downforce is equipped for most any situation, should he be intercepted alone while on a scouting mission. His chainsword can rip through heavy armor, while his giant boomerang-shield can be effective at short or long ranges. His dual pistols are there just in case he needs to hold out behind cover or provide supporting fire for his teammates. In his Racecar-Mode, Downforce can achieve speeds greater than mach-3. When traveling this quickly, his tires actually lift off the ground and he hovers, using his massive rear-spoiler to stop him from completely taking off. More photos in spoiler below: I also have a detailed video overview of Downforce here on my Youtube Channel I encourage everyone to check out the other two videos I've posted. They go over two of my other Transformers that I have not taken pictures of yet. I hope everyone enjoys these "MOCformers" of mine. As always, I welcome constructive criticism and feedback. Please consider, though, that these are built mostly out of the pieces I had as a kid and any others I've acquired through my adulthood. I do not, unfortunately, have the budget to custom order every piece I need off of Bricklink and as such, I may not always have the best pieces to accomplish a job, etc. If any of you have ideas for cool future MOCformers builds, please feel free to share! I am always looking for inspiration for the next build. (Also, I hope it's glaringly obvious that CrimsonClaw's lion mode was heavily inspired by Liger Zero from the Zoids cartoon.)
