  1. Ibn al'Sayeed was heading west. There were business he needed to attend to in the old world. In Pan to be exact. Personal business. But he was not in such a hurry that he could not make a stop underway to meet an old friend. Very old, in fact. Zhen Chao was one of the few, and one of the first, Lotii to have made it to the Halosian colonies. Very few knew why he had left home, or what his story was, but everyone in Port Raleigh, at least, knew of the Cherry Blossom Tea House, run by Chao. It was a very popular establishment, and served some of the finest tea in Terra Nova. Many people met there, as the quiet atmosphere and discrete location made it suitable for private conversation. The guests included naval and army officers, government officials, merchants, politicians and others of note. The tea house took its name from the ever blossoming Lotii cherry trees planted outside and presented an exotic and beautiful garden draped in colours rarely seen in the tropical heat of the colonies. "Al'Sayeed, my old friend!" Chao exclaimed with a smile, hobbling closer. "Come share a cup of tea and tell me all of your recent exploits." Discreetly handing over a sealed folder of documents and a small pouch of gold. "And perhaps you have something to share with me, about the Lotii/Carnian conflict in New Haven? Or perhaps... other business?" ______________________________________ I started building something for Port Raleigh, and it ended up looking rather oriental, so I thought, why not? :) I needed Ibn al'Sayeed going west, and Port Raleigh could use the love. C&C welcome.
  2. After captain Ben D'Anvers sailed a few times back and forwarth to the Viking settlement and right before his ship sunk (that bloody idiot...), he managed to improve the relationship with the Viking Tribe to a level of trust, so an alliance was made. Part of the deal is that MAESTRO teaches the Vikings how to handle guns and rifles. In exchange, MAESTRO has now a compagny of Viking soldiers. Back in Elysabethtown, Lord Tomvaximus decided the best spot for the new fort would be across the entrance of the bay, so the ships in the bay could easily be defended against raiders. I hereby present Fort Viking ----- Pfiew, just in time normally :D Anyway, C&C welcome :)
  3. This is my third freebuild this month. If you're not Eslandolan and like it, please approve. Leon sighed. Why was it always him? First he had discovered that tribe (true, that had also awarded him some praise from the Lady, and a lot of soldiers were jealous for that), but he'd prefer no praise over praise and being hung by his toes from a palm tree. By natives! But it seemed like his bad luck had not yet deserted him: today, Lady Elysabeth had an official meeting with a Corringtonlander Ambassador from the town at the other side of the island. And of course, she wanted to impress that scienceman. Typically for him he was elected for such a boring duty! Of course, in such a shape, the Lady needed protection. But why on earth had that to be in official uniform? It was f#cking more then 25 degrees outside, with a tropical climate... He heart a cough. When he lookep up, he saw Elysabeth's eyes fixed upon his face. That d#mned Lady could read thoughts! Then he saw her gesturing the Ambassador was incoming. ------------------------------ "A warm welcome to our humble settlement, My Lord Ambassador. Please excuse me for not standing up and having a somewhat more comfortable chiar, but I hope you see that my... Condition does not allow me more. But enough about me. How do make it? I hope the voyage wasn't too exciting tiring. As you know, Lord Da Manzana has already negotiated all terms of the treaty..." ----------------------------- Elysabeth was glad the Ambassador finally put his sign under the document. Altough the major work was done by Felipe, she still had to dispute a thousand little remarks. She wasn't made for this work! She was a soldier, and her place was at the frontier! Instead of that, she had to be carried around in a litter, like some silly lady at the Oleander court and be polite to all these important persons, while doing paperwork! Now she had to go drink something with the Ambassador... That improved her state-of-mind: she had still some of Manzana's apple cider left... -------------------------------------------------------------------- Just a quick built, hope you like it! This was based ion the Norse sery Occupied (Okkupert), wich I really love! With a bit of imagination, one can see the Russian Ambassy in it... I hope! And Elysabeth is for a part based on the Russian Ambassadrice. Anyway, CC very welcome! Additional images:
  4. The Kingdom of Ténotclaxca Nickname : The Kingdom of King Azuma Colours: Red and Yellow Quick explanations : This is the official page of the Ténotclaxcan tribe, the main tribe of the island of Berelli. It is a story purpose topic, approved by SkaForHire. Please don't use it to BUMP old builds from more than a month ago. It's not a settlement, nor a new faction ! So no membership will be allowed. Everyone who is building in the realm ruled by king Azuma of Ténotclaxca is invited to post a link of their build in this topic, in order to follow what is built in the natives villages. This topic is made in order to develop the story around the tribe of the Ténotclaxcans, the tribe that, according to them, rules the island of Berelli, recently discovered both by Corrington and Eslandola. All the informations you will see here are from MAESTRO Eslandolan trade company and Corrington scientists observations. Quick glance : The main tribe of Berelli is named the Ténotclaxcans, this name come from the name the natives gave to the island of Berelli : Ténotclaxca. They are open minded natives with proud traditions. That's not preventing them to be great traders too. Their main activities are oriented towards agricultural development, with great bananas plantations and towards fishing. They are naturaly pacifists but their warriors are well trained jungle scouts and are very dangerous in jungles and mangroves. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Leadership King Azuma : The young new king of the Ténotclaxcans. He add access to the throne a bit to soon, at the trgic death of his father by the hand of Oleon soldiers during the first encounter the tribe had with them. He is thinking he rules the entire island, but, although he has the religious support, some Ténotclaxcans, grouped in the south of the island are not recognizing him as the king. And the far north east of the island is so dense in vegetation that the Ténotclaxcans are going very rarely in this area, except some shamans for ritual purposes. It is said by the Ténotclaxcans themselves that the jungle is special in this area, the forest could have some conscience, and could plan very intelligent traps to kill who ever would try to threatened it... Zumo de Kapayas : She is the high priestess of the tribe, rank easily seen thanks to her ritual double parrot hat, one of the specialty of the Ténotclaxcans is their magnifiscent hats. Every member of the tribe has strange headgears to show their rank or their job in the society. She is the protective aspect of the religion of the tribe. She is leading the tribe spiritually when the king is leading the tribe on the island. She gave her support to the new king and have organised the main diplomatic encounters with the "men of the west", the new arrived colonial forces of both Eslandola and Corrington. The Oleon forces are not welcome since their first encounter with the Ténotclaxcans ended in a battle where Oleon men where thrown at sea and where the tribe lost his previous king. Pinya : She is Zumo de Kapayas' daughter. She is the most enthousiast friend of the MAESTRO men in Berelli. She is ready to help them develop the land for the new welcome settlers and she is ready to share her views of the Ténotclaxcan religion. She is promised to a shaman career and will succeed to her mother in this job. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Landscape : Here is the map of Berelli showing only the Ténotclaxcans positions : The Island is mainly covered with jungle and mangroves. The realm of King Azuma is mainly centered aroud the 4 main rivers of the island. The far north east is made of very dense forest and mangrove, it is very dangerous to go there without been well prepared. The south is normally good agrarian land, but since the tensions between King partisans and King protesters, the land is no more ruled with wisdom and care. This situation made the welcome of the Corlander explorers a bit cooler than the one Eslandians settlers received. A view of the jungle of Berelli, by SkaForHire A meeting in the Berelli jungle, by Elostirion One of the Kings' grave near Portal Cove, by Faladrin Ténotclaxcans in a ritual to the Mother Sea in Portal Cove, by Faladrin _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3. The Army : Ténotclaxcans have not regular army in the same way of the main western coutries. Here, every citizen, male or female, is able to handle axes, spears or dart blowers. In case of an attack, all the tribe is at war lead by the king himself ! A boarding team used in small rapid raids, by Faladrin The "navy" force of the tribe is quite limited. They have few pirogues, dangerous for river attacks, or mangrove ambushes, but a part from little catamarans, used for fishing, the ships available for the Ténotclaxcans are not much. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4. History and Culture : The Ténotclaxcans worship a main god of the creation, also nicknamed the Monkey God, due to his monkey appearance. They have an animist vision of the nature mixed to that religion, and every spirit of natural manifestations are subject for rituals and offers. The power of the society is held by both the King and the High priestess. The Ténotclaxcans are pacifists; so the main decisions are mostly centered around what to plant and where to go fishing... But since the arrivals of men from the west, the society is changing. It has been said that the strangers were here to accomplish an old prophecy, it has also been said that they were nothing, just good enough to be thrown to the fish. The Ténotclaxcans are divided and some tensions between King partisans, thinking that the "men of the west" are the prophetic men they were waiting for, and King haters, thinking those men are dangerous and should be sent to their boat are becoming threatening the peaceful tribe. It appears some villages have local traditions that others Ténotclaxcans are not following. There is more a diverse mix of local traditions all linked by the religeous power that always find a way to justify why some are doing like this and others like that. Many old traditions are more old techniques passed generation to another. For example, some fishing techniques are unique to some villages. Pearldiver in trouble, by Elostirion Hot Coals ritual, by BrickOn The continuing of the story will be unveilled in the future _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 5. Diplomacy : Since the arrival of men from the west, the Ténotclaxcans have to build some diplomatic position, something new for them. Zumo de Kapayas and her daughter Pinya are the main leaders of the Diplomatic encounter, by now. Intern troubles : Due to his access to power too soon, the young King Azuma is facing dangerous foes inside his own kingdom. He had to act strongly against some other tribes he is maintening under his rules. But another sorcerer is trying to make secession and is leading some of the natives to a way of human sacrifices and to war. Hopefully, Corrington and Eslandola are here now to help the King to make good order in his kingdom ! 6. When Renato Filamento was informed by Ivo Fortesque about the new island he had discoverd not far from Nelissa, he imediatly had to go and see for himself. And after a voyage that was much faster than Fortesque's 15 days he landed with a crew of hearty explores on the beaches of Berelli himself. However, when he landed there was no trace of the natives Fortesque had told him about. Instead, he was faced with a seemingly inpenetrable rain forest that rose just a few meters behind the beach. What Renato Filamento did not know at this point yet was that rowdy explorers from Oleon had forced their way onto the new island forcefully and thus scared away all the natives that, until recently, had been living close to the sea. On the contrary, as the true humanist that he was, Renato Filamento instructed his men to be careful with their weapons and not shoot or stab anyone until they had his permission to do so. This of course was not met with much enthusiasm by his men, but the Eslandolan viceroy was convinced that if they ever wanted to trade with the people living on this island they would have to treat them with utter friendliness. "No unessecary violence in the name of our good king Fernando Augusto!" he told his men. The Eslandolans' landing on the beach had not gone unnoticed though. Chabuyab, a young worrier of the Xibenyah tribe, and deadly master at the bow, was observing the crew from a save distance. These strangely clad men did not seem as unfriendly as those others that had been able to control the thunder and had forced their way into their village. Before they could know he would be able to shoot at least all four of them and leave unnoticed before others, still out at the swimming house, would be able to help their comrades. However, Chabuyab thought it wise and not shoot as long as these foreigners remainded peaceful themselves ...
  7. When Ivo Fortesque had come to Nova Terreli, Joaquin Seramon Fontonajo took his chance and joined the expedition. Joaquin had always been the most eager adventurer and explorer of the Fontonajo family. While his uncle had been a great sailor, captain and fighter, Joaquin always strived for new things. This trip was his chance. Being on one of the minor vessels in the following of Ivo Fortesque, Joauin Seramon Fontonajo and his comapnions landed a bit off the place where Fortesque had landed. Not a man of doubt or hesitation Joaquin quickly entered the dense jungles of the island to explore it himself. After a while he saw a small lake shining through the thicket, and he followed the reflections of the water for some refreshment. And this is where he first saw her... ---- Quite a hard challenge to build on such a small scale. It took me several attempts to get the layout the way I wanted it to be. Some more pictures from some other angles etc. can be found on flickr. Good luck to everyone in this challenge.
