  1. Hi Eurobricks and swashbucklers. I haven't posted much of my own making in recent years, simply because well.. let's just say I'm a bit lazy. Sorry! Back in 2015-2016 when I was 15 -16 years old (I know, easy to remember) I started messing around a bit with a custom built ship and No. 6721 "Imperial Flagship" (which was one of the last second hand set I bought). It was also at that time I discovered the Aubrey-Maturin novels, and began devouring them in a way you don't expect from someone my age. I also found out a movie adaption was made, containing various elements from the novels. I watched it, and again, and again, and I became a bit obsessed with the story and historical accuracy. And I was (and still am) a lego fan. So 1+1 is 2, ey? I grabbed a green robe and tried recreating a scene! Thanks to a friend who helped me with final cut pro and my mother for sewing the sails, I am very glad I can present to you a movie I should've released three years ago! Here's something I had much fun working on, with vague images, laughable special effects and the occasional video thrown in. Please enjoy. I hope I inspire someone to make a perfect version of this. Kind regards, Captain Edward, or on youtube: Jiskpirate P.S. Be sure to check out my older animations on my channel, with some being reasonably successful, although not too good. For me, my channel is one big plaza of nostalgia.
  2. It’s my first time posting here and I apologize for linking off forum but I posted this in my usual stomping grounds, pirates, and it hasn’t gotten a lot of attention. Though it’s hardly purest, nor super hero based, I’m hoping I can garner some interest and honest feedback from some of the experts here. Since I try so hard for realism on my MOCs (check em out) I’m trying to reflect that level of accuracy and detail in the mini-fig crews of my ships. Despite the, admittedly, low quality of my proto types, what do you all think? http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=89295 Not sure what I’m getting at, not your thing? Just Google search Jack Aubrey or Horatio Hornblower.

HMS Surprise - 24 gun frigate

[pid][/pid] 146A Link to a few bigger photos - click on the picture to enlarge image, sorry for poor quality The whole gallery (when public) http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=524177 Hi, I'd like to present my new frigate - HMS Surprise. She's of course based on the Master and Commander movie and Patrick's O'Brian books, but she isn't a replica. I only have a inspiration of real HMS Surprise (exactly HMS Rose). The ship isn't perfect but I think I make progress to my first frigate HMS Hispaniola. The ships are similar - I only change the colour scheme and generally improve the Surprise. I also done a new string rigging and I'm very pleased for it. It was the worst thing during the building and took the most of time. The sails are the same that in Hispaniola but I soak them in tea. At the end I want to credit Perfectionist, Bonaparte, Captain Greenhair and a few other builders from Eurobricks - they gave me lots of inspiration and ideas. Enjoy!
