    [MOC] Lego City Spaceship

Another 2024 lego 'city' moc. Stuff is really wilding this year.

    [MOC] Lego City Space Rover

Wasn't fond of the small minifigure or technic rovers released this year so I wanted to build my own. Made it just in time for march, the month where everyone is building space rovers. Honestly didn't know if I should've posted this here or in the lego town theme. The top detaches to become a small Cargo tug that should be compatible with the modules seen in the big rover, the space base, and the space station sets. Nothing else can plug into the rover body though.

    GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION

Hello, this is my latest Classic Space project, enjoy. You still love Classic Space, but you want more than just remakes of Classic Space sets? You want something new, fresh, never seen before? Here´s your opportunity to promote new futuristic designs for space sets. GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION, is a dome base fully enclosed with everything the space explorers need to survive extraterrestrial environments. Its composed of a 1200 piece dome base (roughly the same amount of pieces of 10497) and a 1100 piece launch port. A perfect addition to any Classic Space collection. If you like it, give it your support and let's hope we can have this on store shelves soon.

    [MOC][Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship

Futuron - Retro Space Solar Ship [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, on Flickr ================================== The beginning/Genesis : ================================== At the beginning of September, I re-watched the old animated as X-Bomber at 43 years old ! It was my birthday this month. Don't ask me what went through my mind at the time, I don't know at all! I wanted to go back to childhood, because I have the impression of having aged. I had to straighten "the bar", lol ! Seeing these old Retro solar boats literally “blew my mind”. I never realized that a lot of anime from that era had a "strange spaceship" conception, transforming old 14-18th century ships / galleons with engines for space. Yet it was so obvious! And it was there, that suddenly, I remembered Jayce, Cobra, etc ... In short, I saw all the ships of the anime of that time scroll through my head, like a comet in front of my eyes (which booms crashing into my head). And no one had done this in Lego. At least I don't remember. In itself, the beginning of an idea or impression that smelled good, and / or had potential. It was the very beginning of the inspiration and brainstorming in my head for Lego Classic Space ! ================================== The concept : ================================== I did something unusual, non-conformism, eccentric, disconcerting and crazy at the same time. I make a double combination and double ration, animated 70-90 which it was the fashion of space ships and Lego Space Futurons 87-90. For a good Retro nostalgia I combined elements of the Azuris ship from « Message from space : galactic wars », the Cephalus ship from Star Fleet X-Bomber, Glory of the universe of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, and the Solaris of the Mysterious cities of Gold ! 2 periods 70-90 in 1! Fashion Geek powa, total ! ================================== Animated Wikipedia source: ================================== https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Message_from_Space:_Galactic_Wars https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Bomber https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jayce_and_the_Wheeled_Warriors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mysterious_Cities_of_Gold ================================== Youtube animated credits for the nostalgic: ================================== Message from space : galactic wars / San Ku Kai https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3a7kge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfzb7kndOH8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev846CoLg1c Star Fleet X-bomber: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szZisbEQB_Q Jayce and the wheeled warriors : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9K0SzFIf4A The Mysterious Cities of Gold : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enoK-1CW74Y ================================== I took again in inspiration: ================================== - The front and landing feet of Glory of the Universe. - Sails and propulsion reactors of the Cephalus. - The front spur and the hexagonal solar sail at the top of the Solaris mast. - Part of the sails and the structure of the Azuris. ================================== Remarkable elements, NPU, conversion of parts, techniques : ================================== I converted parts #4346 and #4345, in all directions, with levers, for the machinery. Part #44938 bionicle shield, with a "mechanical" aspect converted into an energy capacitor. Various parts of Droids (starwars) converted in the machinery and on the outer deck. Bionicle Shield #45275 converted into deflectors, on the deck of the ship. Kind of like "Viking ship/longship" shields. Big Trident Bionicle #40339 = excellent for large boat emblems in general. I used a slope technique for the sides of the hull. For the rear canopy in the hull, I used a SNOT technique with part #30249. ================================== Physical information : ================================== - 7,082 parts for 854 lots. - 2 weeks of brainstorming, intellectual reflection or "total blank" ...: passive or empty work. - 3 to 4 weeks of active work. - 60.8 studs width, 101.8 studs length, 78.7 studs height. - 48.7 cm width, 81.5 cm length, 63 cm height. - 5.77 Kg. ================================== Global : ================================== All Futuron figures, including the green Lego City minifigure and the lesser known "Educational & Dacta" minifigures. 9 crew members, 3 teams of 3 watch members. ================================== Exterior/outside: ================================== - Solar sails with 3 intermediate lookouts. They can rotate a bit. - Futuron logo, in stickers, on the sails. - 2 radars at the top of the masts. - Long electromagnetic barrel at the front. - 2 small laser cannon turrets at the front. - 2 large turrets at the rear, pulsed radius. - Wings with stabilizers at the end. - 2 small rotating turrets under the wings. - 4 landing feet. - Various elements of machinery on the deck of the Boat. - 8 deflector shields on the sides (Bionicle shield converted). - 2 large propulsion reactors. - Cockpit. ================================== Wheelhouse: ================================== - 1 captain / watch officer seat. - 1 seat Transmission of orders to machines. - 1 navigation control seat. - 1 communication control seat. - 1 alarm control seat. - Walkie-talkies, fans, fire extinguishers, binoculars, cups, etc. ================================== Interior/inside hull of the ship : ================================== - Small storage room at the front, with a ladder to grab onto the deck of the solar ship. - 6 beds with drawers below. - WC / toilet. - Sonic shower. - Kitchen / Cantina: sink, water, oven, cupboards, cups, bottles of food. - Table, bottles of food. - Machine room: control bar, control panel, turbines, fans, transformer, energy condenser, energy pressurizer, cooling circuit, heat transfer fluid, warning lights, ladder to climb to the cockpit, tool kit, tools behind the ladder. - Rear canopy - SAS by energy barrier. ================================== Conclusion: ================================== I built in a perspective of pseudo-realism, pseudo-likely and pseudo-consistency, with compromises with the Retro concept of the animated ones of the years 70-90's. I wanted something playable and fun at the same time. I had a lot of difficulty and trial and error, because I had never done a Lego boat. I worked several times until 4am ! I often work like this: as long as the inspiration is there, I must not lose it, and I work until I no longer see the time passing. But the opposite has also happened to me several times: several times the symptom of the "blank sheet" for 1 to 3 days, without knowing how I was going to build, find inspiration, think about the logic of the construction, etc. . This feeling of "emptiness", that you feel something is happening, and you have it on the tip of your tongue, but it does not come out! Annoying and horrifying sensation ! :) The inclination of the walls gave me intellectual problems. It took a long time to build the engine room. I had to redo it at least 3-4 times. I wanted a maximum of diversity and complexity at the same time. The confined space of the hull gave me difficulties: how to integrate "likely" elements in so little volume ? I have lost my hair several times. Just those damn shower and toilet, I had to spend 3 hours each, to do, undo and redo in all the sauces. Like a little monkey who tests all combinations. Shouldn't bring me a banana at this time, because I think I would have been screwed to make a monkey cry as a bonus .... lol [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, on Flickr (Zoom on Flick, picture Full-HD 9216 x 4608 pixels) [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, sur Flickr (Zoom on Flick, picture Full-HD 9216 x 6144 pixels) [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, sur Flickr (Zoom on Flick, picture Full-HD 9216 x 4608 pixels) Shiptember 2021 [Futuron] Retro Space Solar Ship by Horlack, on Flickr ================================== Source / reference on my project (progression in the time) : ================================== https://forum.brickpirate.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25577 https://www.flickr.com/photos/horlack/albums/72157720062770130 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=HorlackBricks&set=a.495422262040159

    My NCS Series Remastered :)

[NCS] 886 - Space Buggy, Remastered It is my chassis from [NCS] 6802 - Space Probe by changing the rear of the vehicle. Rear with articulated arm, 2 fire extinguishers, ore box, articulated arm control panel, 1 spaceman's hand tools, one antenna, 1 airtank. Front of the buggy with camera, sensors, binoculars, 2 walkie-talkies, a mini-satellite-antenna and control panel. [NCS] 886 - Space Buggy, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6928 - Uranium Search Vehicle, Remastered [NCS] 6928 - Uranium Search Vehicle, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6928 - Uranium Search Vehiclen, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6842 - Shuttle Craft, Remastered A small remastered 6842-Shuttle Craft. Walkie-talkie, camera/weapon (depending on). On the Shuttle : reactors, engines, jet turbine, cannons, 4 front sensors, radiators, small antenna, 2 horizontal ailerons, 2 vertical ailerons, lifters, steering nozzle, rear computer control panel. Basically, I took a bit of inspiration from the Speeders of the Meta-Universe from Starwars. search keywords for all see : "type = speeders" https://www.starwars-universe.com/encyclopedie/vaisseaux_vehicules.php [NCS] 6842 - Shuttle Craft, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 462-897- Mobile Rocket Launcher, Remastered The Mythic 462-897 Mobile Rocket Launcher set was too small, so ... I remastered it in 2020 version. I had some difficulty with the Rocket, because I didn't want to use round bricks. I wanted something more elegant with cool building techniques. So I remade the rocket entirely in brickbuild. Ditto for the radar. In short, a little technical originality. I didn't want to be conventional. I used the elements of my old constructions to keep it homogeneous. The radar cockpit rotates 360°, and the radar itself also rotates, 360°. The radar cockpit is quite worked with control screens everywhere, as well as small joysticks. A walkie-talkie, a hammer and an adjustable wrench hang on it. I retake : - The chassis of my [NCS] 6802-Space Probe Remastered - The radar of my [NCS] 452-894-Mobile Tracking Station, Remastered [NCS] 462-897- Mobile Rocket Launcher, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 462-897- Mobile Rocket Launcher, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr The goal is to remain homogeneous in the architecture. Which is sometimes not an easy task. All the blocks are interchangeable, between all my creations. It's Modular, on a vehicle scale. Details of the rocket. Use of modified brick, by turning them 45 ° in the central body of the rocket, in order to build it "in hexagon" [NCS] 6901 - Mobile Lab, Remastered Always in the spirit of keeping modules of old constructions to reuse them. Just to swap modules, to make another MOC. Maximum standardization. The forward cockpit contains 2 repair utensils. It opens through doors on the side or through the central canopy. It is a resumption of the cockpit of the "1580 Lunar Scout, Remastered", by adding 2 ladders, and by rotating the roof sensors 180 °. The aft cockpit opens by rotating the canopy, or through the roof by eclipsing the radar. It contains 2 levers and 3 control panels which are in height. The chassis is also a recovery. An excavator entirely made in brickbuild. I did not find any existing parts, adapted to the scale of the vehicle, so a brickbuild is needed :) [NCS] 6901 - Mobile Lab, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6901 - Mobile Lab, Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr Well, I'm pretty happy with the look. I was worried that with my history of taking modules from other builds, it would result in a lousy mobile lab. Overall, "no". I had to be inventive on the rear 4x6 module block part. Once the seat and the astronaut were installed, I found myself stuck putting screens on him! And worse, not being able to get it out of the cockpit, lol Yeah, that's bad! Even blowing up the radar which is made up of 2 modular blocks, there was really little room. in fact, I had it kinda on my own, absolutely wanting a seat, which made it worse in a minimalist space. My neurons have overheated! Hence the idea of putting a canopy at an angle, from the top, to gain length space to take out the spaceman, but also to put control panels on the ceiling. And in fact, without wanting to, I took again in a different form, the horizontal rear opening of the 2 doors of the original 6901, but in a single vertical one at the rear. [MOC] [NCS] 6802 Space Probe, Remastered Bigger on a Buggy chassis with double probes. The robot deserved a 2020 update. :) - Head 3626bpb0034 : Minifigure, Head Alien with Copper Skin and Silver Eyepiece Pattern - torso 973pb1061 : Torso Robot with Silver Rivets - Arm 62691 : Arm Mechanical [NCS] 6802 - Space Probe Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6802 - Space Probe Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 1580 Lunar Scout Remastered I kept the structures of my old creations, to remain homogeneous, and above all to make it "modular". The goal is to make all of my vehicles modular, and interchange the components between vehicles, to rebuild them as they see fit. Structure of the articulated Mini-arm found in, my [NCS] 6841 - Heavy Mineral Detector, Remastered Structure of the bumpers, which can be found [NCS] 452-894 - Mobile Tracking Station, Remastered I put a mini articulated arm at the back, in addition to the 2 mineral containers. The canopy is not green, because I will take over the cockpit structure for another construction. I couldn't put the chassis as low as the original, but overall I stayed in the "spirit" of the little scout utility vehicle. [NCS] 1580 Lunar Scout Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 1580 Lunar Scout Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6841 - Heavy Mineral Detector Remastered I continue my series. I feel hot and boiling there! ☢️ A little Classic-space 6841 Mineral Detector Remastered, only bigger. I have tried to stay true to the functionality and structure of the original. Then added in all directions: Mini-articulated arm at the back, box to store minerals, box to crush minerals and analyze them, communication antenna, walkie-talkies, various small radars / cameras / front detectors at the front of the vehicle, small rock hammer, hand detector (which can be hung on the mini articulated arm) and various control panels. [NCS] 6841 - Heavy Mineral Detector Remastered by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 6841 - Heavy Mineral Detector Remasterised by Horlack, sur Flickr [NCS] 452-894 - Mobile Tracking Station, Remastered Functional quality, of course :). Radar in tow that turns in all directions. The 2 small folding jacks when the trailer is unhooked. (A radar not horizontal, when the trailer tilts, it works much less well!) Radar on the roof of the vehicle which rotates 360 °. I really thoroughly styled this 2nd radar with sensors everywhere and tried to keep "the best spirit" with the 2 round transparent things. 6. This transformer robot's name is White Astronaut. Because the robot mode looks like astronaut. :) This mini robot is a triple changer transformer. It could change into a fighter jet and a monster.

    [MOC] Oh, Lonesome Me...

  8. Got a rundown hover bike that just doesn't start? Or how about a space truck that's lost it's hyper speed capabilities? Call Junk-Tron Towing and Salvage and watch that old Lunar Limo disappear at light speed! Our trained and courteous professional tow truck operators can move anything: no engine? faulty Mr. Fusion? blown time rotor? We've seen it all! We also offer flat bed, low-belly, and trans-dimensional towing services as well. If you own it: we can move it! Just call the all zeroes to get in touch with us at Junk-Tron! That's 000-000-000-000, with a galactic code of 000. In reality, this is a color-swapped Smash N Grab (set 5982) with a toned down amount of spikes, minimal weapons, and absolutely no stickers! The rear of the ship features the crane arm and engines. The top of the roof lifts off for placing the pilot at the controls. The pilot of the tow truck is wearing a pressurized space suit with a reflective orange coating to prevent accidents. As usual, comments, questions, complaints, and suggestions are always welcome!
  9. Hello everyone, I would like to share my recent build that I put together last minute for the ongoing contest on Lego IDEAS called 'Moments in space'. It is a large scale brick built 'minifigure' of an astronaut. It is inspired by these big brick built figures appearing in several lego sets (as for now I only recall big antman from the Marverl Super Heroes set, but I think there was at least one more). This contest is supposed to help TLG design their next space-based promotional polybag, so I designed something that I would actually like to get as a freebie, and I hope other would as well :D If you like it, you can see more pictures and vote for it HERE! I don't have very many friends on social media that I could lure the votes from so my chances are low, but each vote definitely counts so thank you! (plus if you feel like sharing with your fellow lego enthiusiasts, that's beyond my wildest wishes :D) Of course all comments and criticism are also much appreciated. Footnote - I haven't yet checked the part availability in used colors so I am not 100% sure whether it is currently buildable or not (probably not). I plan, however, on revisiting that, making necessary changes and releasing the LDD instructions so if you'd like to build your own Brick's'tronaut, stay tuned :D
  10. We managed to get our Saturn V Rocket signed by Al Worden who flew one in Apollo 15 1971. He was at the National Space Centre in Leicester on Saturday promoting his new book and we managed to take the rocket in with us in three stages and got him to sign the fuselage. https://wordpress.com/post/paulclewsblog.wordpress.com/2983?retry=1
  11. This is the Asp Explorer spaceship from the video game Elite: Dangerous. Made from over 1400 parts, this model is built to 1:219 scale. It has a nice chunky tactile feel. The Asp featured in the classic 1984 space game "Elite", and lives on with style in the 2014 reboot "Elite: Dangerous" and "Elite Dangerous: Horizons". In-game images of the Asp Explorer Here and some info Here. This was a really fun project. It is a challenging shape to recreate, with all the awkward angles! I tried to get as much detail in as I could, and use the Lego parts in interesting ways. Particularly the thrusters on the underside which face the opposite direction to the surrounding studs. It has a fairly intricate internal skeleton to hold everything together. I have added it to Lego ideas. Please do support it. Thanks!
  12. One small capsule for the Series 15 astronaut, and one giant build for their continuation. Finally finished my continuation of the build from the CMF Contest. Just in time as I got 60052 today. And I really want to build it, ( maybe make a review of ) and start to MOD it ! Comments and questions appreciated as always.
  13. I made this Scarab SRV (Surface Recon Vehicle) from the video game Elite Dangerous: Horizons. It is built to Minifigure scale, and contains over 450 bricks. I hope you like it. Feedback is very welcome ofcourse. (Also I added it to ideas.lego too, if you fancy supporting it https://ideas.lego.com/projects/134382) Main Features Two Commander Minifigures - male and female. Movable side boosters - used for jumping over obstacles and ravines, and for self-righting if the vehicle gets stuck upside down after a tumble. Movable top mounted turret with twin-plasma-repeaters for mining minerals, for self-defence, and for data-link transmission. Headlights (x6), brakelights (x2) and reverse light (x1). Twin wavescanner probes at the front of the cockpit, for locating interesting objects. Two salvaged cargo cannisters - the generic blue/grey type. They often just contain tea, but hopefully these ones are full of gold! A spooky black "Unknown Artifact" - no-one knows why these mysterious alien objects started appearing near the "Merope" star system, or why they emit such creepy sounds ... So what is a Scarab SRV? It is a one-person buggy, designed for exploring remote rocky and icy worlds in high or low gravity. It can easily achieve speeds of over 85mph on flat terrain, and is great for doing skids, donuts and low-gravity-somersaults. It can carry two standard cargo units, and can scoop up minerals and resources from planet surfaces. In the game it looks like this, and features in this game trailer.

    Lander Training on Mars

Hey everyone! This is my first space MOC, so any tips and feedback are appreciated. I'm going for realistic future space style, trying kind of a different space route than most I've seen. If you're interested, the start of a story is available on Flickr. Anyway, here it is:
  15. http://i.imgur.com/FL5Wuqu.jpg The rocket's crew. Based off of the original nexus astronauts. http://i.imgur.com/QHedRAf.jpg The rocket itself, which is built using the main rocket instructions but has many changes. I hope you enjoyed my MOC, and I apologize for the blurry pictures that were originally there. Edit by Hinckley: Pictures turned to links due to violation of size restrictions. Please see the Site Guidelines and adhere to them when posting. Thank you.
  16. A few days ago, I've made the Ultra Fast Intergalactic Speeder for my Space layout, which is currently a WIP. The speeder can be used by one astronaut a time. The speeder have also some components for improving fast movement. I've chosen some special Technic parts for making the chassis of the speeder.
