    [MOC/IDEAS] The Mole

The Mole - originally Krtek - is a cartoon character created by Czech animator Zdeněk Miler. He has appeared in 50 animations between 1956-2002. The mole is curious, friendly and caring. The animations vary from couple of minutes to half an hour in lenght and apart from the debut, "How the mole got his trousers", do not feature any narration or dialogue. Character's non-figurative exclamations were voiced my Miler's daughters. This was to have the cartoons understandable in every language without need of dubbing. The mole cartoons have been very popular in several countries, including many Central European countries, Russia, India, Japan and Finland. This is also my first IDEAS project. You can find it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96873418-a994-42b5-a8d8-ecfd3ba1af8a Support is appreciated. The model is rather sturdy - my models usully are not - as the Mole is quite a cylinder-shaped animal. He is also very round, which took plenty of SNOT connections and curved slopes to get right. The 3x3x2 curved corner pieces were the key parts. Another challenge were the arms, as I didn't want them to be just couple of tubes. More pictures can be found on my blog, Cyclopic Bricks.
  2. Hello Eurobricks, "The Blocky Guide to parenting / Internet-Research" is my english version of "Der kleine eckige Erziehungsratgeber / Recherche" - Brickfilm, with 2 awards at STEINEREI, german brickfilmfestival. "Best Animation" & "Best Voice Performance". To make it more enjoyable for non-german speakers i also wanted and made a english version - so have fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3uqVWuPNvM ******** german original version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G9FSW-Wpf0&t=21s ******** a little look behind the scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7QxIK4j2sI ********* little story behind the clip: original-voices (german version) are from a radio-comedy. fortuitously i was listening to the episode "Recherche" and i could not believe my ears, hearing them talking about LEGO, "LEGO-Films" and that in combination with german poet "Goethe" and brickfilms with his poems. I made such brickfilms and called the producer for research in the product and my remix-idea. We both had a lough - and sure they had seen some of my animated clips and wrote that episode. I asked for permission to make it a "lego-Film" again and here we are. 3 years later - because the project was sleeping in my head a long time. planed that with minifigs first, but made it different, as it was also a long dream having some kind of brick-based Stop-Motion-Puppets. They are based somehow on the LEGO 31019 (Monkey) - a set i really liked and used for animation in clips before. But you know - it´s descended from the apes Have fun, Steffen

I am sorry. I can see dusts in my videos. I should have been careful. I made some stop motion animation in the head parts of the videos. I hope you enjoy them also.
  6. Hi Eurobricks and swashbucklers. I haven't posted much of my own making in recent years, simply because well.. let's just say I'm a bit lazy. Sorry! Back in 2015-2016 when I was 15 -16 years old (I know, easy to remember) I started messing around a bit with a custom built ship and No. 6721 "Imperial Flagship" (which was one of the last second hand set I bought). It was also at that time I discovered the Aubrey-Maturin novels, and began devouring them in a way you don't expect from someone my age. I also found out a movie adaption was made, containing various elements from the novels. I watched it, and again, and again, and I became a bit obsessed with the story and historical accuracy. And I was (and still am) a lego fan. So 1+1 is 2, ey? I grabbed a green robe and tried recreating a scene! Thanks to a friend who helped me with final cut pro and my mother for sewing the sails, I am very glad I can present to you a movie I should've released three years ago! Here's something I had much fun working on, with vague images, laughable special effects and the occasional video thrown in. Please enjoy. I hope I inspire someone to make a perfect version of this. Kind regards, Captain Edward, or on youtube: Jiskpirate P.S. Be sure to check out my older animations on my channel, with some being reasonably successful, although not too good. For me, my channel is one big plaza of nostalgia.
  7. Hello all! Be warned, large images will be in this thread. Please be amazed and hopefully the moderators will be too :D ------------------- First time posting here, so howdy. lol I have already been infecting your discord channel before I even became an official member :P A little about me before I start what this topic is about: I work on building the instructions for installing curtain wall & storefronts as an real life job. So I work in the 2D & 3D architectural industry for a living. And I use Blender as an addictive hobby on the side. Go figure. My goal is to start making 5+ minute animations in only a 3D environment, as while I do have legos, I don't have the space for a full on film studio. I hope to enjoy a long stay with everyone here! I love to share my trade secrets to 3D modeling if your ever interested! ----------------------- On to my topic now: Please see below my work so far making 3D Lego animations. (I apologize for not obeying the 800px square) Thanks all, I will be updating this regularly! T_D
  8. I have made a short stop motion movie. I hope you enjoy it :D "Avengers: Vulture Battle with Iron Man and Spider-man" - LEGO Stop Motion Movie My other LEGO animation: "Avengers: Vulture Battle with Iron Man and Spider-man" - LEGO Stop Motion Movie "Grand Theft Auto" - LEGO Stop Motion Animation LEGO Stop Motion Movie "Spider-Man: Trunk Man's Challenge" LEGO Stop Motion Film-"I Will Get You..r......Hot Dog" LEGO Short Film--"The Bad Day Not Too Bad"
  9. Just realized I haven't posted a film here in a while. Might as well change that! A Stormtrooper gets into a little trouble... My first attempt at melding live action and stop-motion animation. It was made for a compilation of funny videos that had a tight deadline, and so is a bit rushed. However, I hope you enjoy it anyway.
  10. We created the first stop motion in VR180. This is a love letter to the Last Jedi Throne Room scene. Pls tell me what you think of this format https://youtu.be/HBasBaz22dE

  12. EPISODE 1 (Part 1) This is the pilot episode of "MINI FIGS - MINI GIGS". Joker is about to set-up a prank in the neighborhood public toilet. Find out what he is up to and who are the unfortunate ones to get pranked! Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions. Thank you! 13. Hello everybody, my name is Pepijn, I am from the Netherlands, and "Bloktopus" is actually the name of our stop-motion lego animation collective. There's three of us and even though we don't make videos that frequently, we enjoy every bit of it. I left a link below if you're interested. Aside from that I also enjoy lego just for building. In 2016 a friend reintroduced me to lego after not having touched any brick for 20 years or so. I am amazed how much has changed and especially improved in this time gap. It's also astounding how varied themes have become since the nineties. The last two years I've stumbled mostly upon Creator and Ninjago, and I've been gifted lots of Minecraft and Friends. Luckily I've never given away my old lego so I also got plenty of Space and Aquazone left. As varied as these themes are, I still try to merge all of them into one big (actually quite small compared to what I've seen online) futuristic harbour city. I joined Eurobricks because I'd like to see what other people are building and filming, hope to learn new tricks, get to know some people and keep an eye open for events that might be interesting. Kind regards, Pepijn. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIJnnmoRYLC9E8aMOw1whkg

Which forum does my MOC/topic belong in?

Hi: I just want to know if there is a forum dedicated for LEGO animation/stop motion movie topics. If not, what is the best place to post them? Thanks I found it. Thanks
