    The Best LEGO Set?

What do you think about this set?
  3. Right, I have been asked to create this thread to raise awareness. I am spearheading a way to solve this, as I have knowledge in this sector. We have someone in our community that has been taking LDD files that don't belong to him, has been making videos on them without the original designers permission, and most importantly has been selling the designs as instructions when he has no right or legal standpoint to do so. Now, this is not giving anyone the right to give this guy 'hate' as it will not make the situation any better. Firstly, I recommend you read the thread created by @Tenderlok, that started nearly a day ago, and has brought this to the forefront: And especially this bit that I wrote just recently in there: "I stayed up late trying to sort this and eventually went to bed. I'm now ready to get back to it... Today I am incredibly disappointed by @Jimbricked... It seems he isn't listening, he seems infact to be saying one thing, doing another... I'm beyond frustrated with this situation, so this is closer to the line that we as community should take: Therefore, I am going to post in here and also create a thread in general. Here is his youtube channel: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCGzMhduUjLlnpBRHTaOJ8Aw (Hope the link works, if not, tell me and I'll correct it, I'm doing this fast.) This is not to open the door to giving him 'hate', this is a group approach to solve this, and I need help as I am only one man. In terms of consequences, this will now be in a far less beneficial light for @Jimbricked, because of his lack of action. He is now likely going to have to remove videos on people asking, or otherwise get an awful lot of copyright strikes... - Right, the plan: 1. Go on his channel. 2. Look though all his videos, and: (a) If they're your LDD designs, contact him and ask him to delete them, as it doesn't look like he's going to be contacting you anytime soon... If he doesn't respond, fill out the infringement form on Youtube. (b) If you directly know who the LDD design originally belongs to, could you please find contact details for the designer in question, and pop them a message explaining the stolen material is monetized and also has instructions being sold by Jimbricked. From there the designer needs ask him to delete them, and again, if he doesn't respond, they should fill out the infringement form on Youtube. - Therefore, we have legally forfilled the correct approach, by asking first, then if no response, using Youtube's tools to deal with it. - Now @Jimbricked, as you may know, if too many people send copyright strikes on your channel, Youtube is within their rights to terminate your channel... I recommend you cooperate with this or Youtube could in a sense 'slap the book at you' and you'll be left with no channel at all. I have seen this happen. - The other approach which could save everyone time would be to delete every piece of content (video) in which you have used LDD files without permission. That would leave you with the designs you have created entirely yourself, and the possibility of being able to continue uploading your designs in video form to Youtube. In this scenario, you can sell your own designs, but not those belonging to others as well... - I hope I have made myself abundantly clear... Regards, James - P.S. Any questions please ask." The "plan" part specifically is what I need help with. So, any would be much appreciated to solve this. If you know anyone affected in the form of stolen material please do get in touch with them, if you don't have contact details for them, please refer it to me and I will either search for info and contact them or get someone else on it with more links. Thank you for reading this, I love this community and want this whole situation in a better position in the next 24 hours than it has been in the last. James
  4. First if all I totally forgot to post this model here on the forum, guess better late than never Now to explain a bit about the motives behind this model before I go into specific details. Counter on my youtube channel was nearing 10.000 so I wanted to make something trully special. I was not sure what kind of a model I want to make, a sportscar, offroader, construction machine, so the decision came to MAKE ALL AT ONCE. The model would also incoporate ideas from the last decade of Lego technic product to go along with my 10 years on youtube. Starting with the design, the front end is heavily inspired by 42083 and 41999. Notice the front wheels are from 42056. The first motorized function is adjustable front suspension inspired by 8297: The front end can raise by 3 centiemetrs to allow the model to negotiate rough terrain. Continuing towards the cab, which was inspired by 41999, we can pop up the hood to find a green colored 10 cylinder engine inspred by 42030: Cab doors are inspired by the doors from 42069, which open at the angle. Opening the doors you can find a full interrior with two adjustable seats andworking steering wheel: In the center of the cab there is a gearbox which movel lineary to switch between 3+R gears using a special mechanism. This emchanisem translates the sliding action into usable inputs for the gearbox: Going further back, there is a section holding the battery box and, orange lever and utensils on the left side. I will explain the function of the orange lever later. On the opposite, right side there are 2 M motors powering all the motorized functions. Notice the mysterious red lever which is used for switching motorized functions. Notice the pump used to power the pneumatic functions. There are also two electric switches to reverse the two driving M motors. If we continue towards the back, we can see there is a pair of linear actuators used to manipulate the container. The red lever switches power from one of the M motor between the adjustable front suspension and linear actuators. But not only can the linear actuators tilt the container, but they can also pick up and load the entire thing. To switch between tilting or picking up, the orange lever is used to lock the individual segments of the lifting arm. This function is inspired by 8052. The arm can reach out and pick up the container with ease: If we continue and look at the photo of the back side you may notice a PTO output along with a strange mechanism with rubber bands: Same motor that powers adjustable front suspension, linear actuators also powers the PTO output via 24 tooth clutch gear. Notice that the PTO output uses a CV joint in order to slide the axles into it without friction. The rubber band mechanism is used to hold the rear attachment. This was inspired by 8110 and 42054. Here is a sum up the functions of the model so far: 1. Motorized functions Adjustable font suspension Tilting of the container Picking up and lifting of the container Pneumatic compressor and storage provided by two air tanks powered rear PTO 2. Manual functions: 10 cylinder engine powered via rear wheels through a 3+R gearbox 3+R gearbox Steering controlled by steering wheels inside the cab AND the light on the right side of the roof Openable doors Openable hood Adjutstable seats Independent front suspension Solid live axle assembly in the rear - inspired by 42043 Features: Both front axles are at a positive cats angle, allwing the fat Porsche wheels to self-center Due to the immense weight, each rear solid axle is supported by 4 yellow very hard springs The 3+R gearbox is derived from my diagonal gearbox featured in the Dominator TRS Due to its framed design the gearbox provides a very rigid backbone to the model A 5 tubed exhaust seemed appropriate for the 10 cylinder engine I hope this photo helps you understand all the functions and features a bit better. Each color of the model's chassis represents a different module. Next we will look at the rear attachment built for this model. The attachment is multifunctional, combining linear actuators, pneumatics and 4-way switchbox to actuate all the functions: In total the attachemnt features following functions powered by a PTO via 4-way switchbox: Extension of the control arms via small actuators and a lever mechanism Lowering of the control arms via large actuators - inspried by 42009 Rotation of the arm Spooling up a winch which allows the arm to be used as a crane arm - inspired by 8258 Additionally there are 4 pneumatic function powered by the compressor and air stored in the two pneumatic tanks on the truck itself: Raising of the primary arm joint Raising of the secondary arm joint Tilting of the showel - inspired by 8043 Closure of the blue pneumatic claws - inspired by 8110 Some intersting facts about this attachment module: All of the penumatic functions + rope of the winch pass through the turntable. Rotation of the turntable is limited to some 350 degrees to avoid all those tubes and rope tangling up The structure of the arm with diagonal arms is inspired by crane arms Frictionless 8 tooth gears allow the white 16L axles to slide with ease while powering the two large actuators used for support legs The 4-way switchbox is one of my most complex and sense assemblies and it took me 2 days to design with support of LDD. Winch uses a friction pin to keep the rope from unloading when the winch function is off. The blue claw uses rubber bricks for better grip Combining the main model with the atatchment resluts in a model which weighs around 5 kilograms and is over a meter long! Some facts about the design, and build of the model: The whole model took me over 2 months to design and built, biggest challenging being the gearbox, container arm and rear attachment switchbox. A lot of care was placed into keeping all the functions working reliably with a limited power source (M motor) and safely with no gears skipping or breaking. The model uses around 16 universal and 3 CV joints to transfer the power to the suspension lifting mechanism, PTO, both steering sytsems and drive axles. Each rear axle is capable of supporting the whole model's weight, the weak point are the Power Puller tyres which sag quite a lot, especially on the third axle. Thanks to it's stiff gearbox, this model has one of the stiffest central frames I ever built allowing the model to be easily picked up by diagonal front and rear wheel without excessive flex. Gas canisters and first aid from 42069 are featured on this model The hood ornament is a bunny from a Lego Friends set This is my first model to use the white pneumatic air tanks for it's intended purpose. The model is covered with glow in the dark parts close to its edges, so its visible at night - useful when you are wandering around your building area at night A photo of the mashup's total of 8 glow in the dark bionicle claw/eye pieces: You can see the model in action in the following feature video: Finally I would like to thank you for reading through this massive post and for helping me reach 10.000 subscribers.

    Hello Lego Fans!

Hi, my name is Rafael and I am from Germany. I got out of my Dark Ages a couple months ago and want to become a contributing member of the community. This forum seems awesome for that! I am now 34 and still have fond memories of playing with Legos as a kid. The best christmas was when I got the Fire Breathing Castle. This was so much fun. But I also liked the space theme a lot. Lego was the best toy ever, due to the possibilities it presented. It's funny how most of us get sidetracked with other things just to realize later how awesome it still is. I still like to get sets and build them at least once, and except maybe for the odd really awesome set, I will keep it displayed for some time. But ultimately it's all about taking it apart and building something new out of it. I really like to build alternate MOCs from just one set. It limits the amount of possibilities, sure, but also makes it challenging and one has to think of potentially new ways of building something, compared to having all the pieces at disposal. But obviously completely free MOCs using everything thats possible are awesome too. Haven't done anything big so far, but I am sure that time will come! Right now I am working on a Harry Potter themed MOC for a Halloween event, in which I show a scene from my Hogwarts RPG campaign. My three players are all first years at Hogwarts in 1984 and of course found their way into the Forbidden Forest! ;) But usually I am leaning towards creating Scifi-themed MOCs, like Mechs and Spaceships. Especially looking into a Lego-based tabletop game called Mobile Frame Zero and its spaceship spin-off Intercept Orbit right now. And for that matter I kinda thought that I wanted not only to sit alone (or my fiance) and put bricks together, but actually share my creations and hopefully add fun to other people's lifes as well. So I started a youtube channel sharing tutorial videos of my MOCs, as well as other related Lego topics, like Vlogs and Reviews! Please check out my youtube channel if you like, Maranar bricks: http://bit.ly/maranarbricks There is also a Flickr page: http://bit.ly/2xik2g0 Greetings! Maranar / Rafael
  6. Hey all, we've been working on building up a lego youtube channel for romanian fans (https://bit.ly/2ML8vLM) I know this might not appeal to many on the site since only a part of us speak romanian, but I thought some of you might like to know. We're still young naive beginners, and especially in the beginning I've tried emulating what I like from other channels while slowly making it my own. I would love some feedback from members here, either romanian speakers or otherwise, everyone is welcome! I am also a newbie to the forums here, but I do follow your news. You'll find some reviews, some short and hopefully amusing videos, as well as some past live streams (which we are planning on making more of).Once again, the link is https://bit.ly/2ML8vLMIf and only if you enjoyed it, I would really appreciate a subscription, it will help us make a lot more content, I absolutely love LEGO and want to talk about it as much as possible :)))))))Thanks for your time, hope to see you on the channel! Happy building!

What is your favorite youtube channel?

It is mostly in the title, mine are, Alternate-History-Hub, and others.
  9. Hi all, Beyond the Brick is going to be interviewing the Lego Designer's and they're taking your questions! If we ever want a firm answer on whether or not we'll be getting anything for Castle again, everyone should go to their video now and ask about Castle: If we all do that, it's sure to be asked as a question and hopefully we'll see more than some fluff answer. Do it for your Lego Kingdoms, do it for Castle!

Classic Space - every set video

Apologies if this has already been posted and I somehow missed it or if posting a link to YouTube is verboten, but this video of every Classic Space set is really impressive! The filming isn't great but the collection is. I don't have anything to do with the collector, the interviewer or the event. As someone who has fond memories of the earliest Classic Space sets and recreated 6927 All-Terrain Vehicle in 2014 (see here, here, here and here), I just thought the video was super cool.
  11. As of today youtube has changed it's youtube partner program rules. It's a bit complicated to explain but it comes down to the fact that small youtubers (like me!) will no longer be able to make money from their video's. if they don't meet the new, higher requirements. As of today, one needs to have more than 4000 HOURS worth of views over the last 12 months and 1000 subscribers to be able to make money with the video's he posts. I just got an E-mail telling me I have until February 20th to reach the new requirement or my channel will be kicked out of YPP! So if you enjoy my video's, PLEASE go to my channel, and I'f you like what you see SHARE A VIDEO on your facebook paige. I'm on the verge losing the income to support my hobby, and this might mean I'll can no longer make high quality video's of my MOC's such as the exempels shown below. Don't forget I'm not alone in this, so check in with your favorite LEGO channels and support them! Thank you.

My MOCs and Reviews Youtube Channel

Hey fellow Eurobricks users! I just found out that Youtube is demonetizing a bunch of small channels, and that includes mine. I had just met the requirements for monetization a couple months ago, but they changed their policy again so I'll need some help climbing the ladder. I do reviews and custom work on my channel and was hoping you all might check it out. If you like it, then please subscribe and support the channel. It would really help as I am planning on using the money to help fund bigger and better MOCs and better videos. Thank you all. I really do appreciate you spending your time to read through this and to check out my channel. I have linked some of my videos below so you can get a taste of what my channel offers (the quality of my videos has improved very drastically since the beginning and you can tell with the videos below):
  13. These are various alternate models I have made from the LEGO City 60150 Pizza Van set 1st- Sportscar & snack bar 2nd- airplane & air gates 3rd- Cargo truck 4th- JUNGLE off road car Thanks for watching!
  14. I'm completely fascinated by the marble oympics (Marblelympics), Great Ball Contraption (GBC) and Rube Goldberg machines. With 20 copies of this module, one NXT, a lot of chain links and several days trying to make overlays in new editing software, it is finally complete: LEGO GBC marble Race - Round 1: The race turns out to be quite nerve wrecking if you pick the right team before the race. Take a look: The layout is powered by only 2 NXT motors for 19 of the modules and an M-motor for the first separate module. I hope that this layout is also much ore fun to look at than the first, which looked like this: As mentioned, there are building instructions for the main module:http://c-mt.dk/instructions/models_gbc-GBCStarterConveyerBelt.htm I hope you like it :)

  19. i was looking on youtube trending for a while and these videos came up about spiderman and elsa, and i looked at the views and it had over 11 million views but it was only uploaded a few days ago?. i didnt watch it because it looked like it was made in a rush judging by the thumbnail. this got me wandering why did this video have so many views and yet it was only made a few days ago. has anyone else come across these videos? or just weird videos in general?
