[MOC] Fuchikoma and Section 9 members

For Marchikoma I build this Fuchikoma which even fits a fig quite nicely, see also https://ghostintheshell.fandom.com/wiki/Fuchikoma for more information about the original. Fuchikoma - フチコマ by Ids, on Flickr When I had build this Fuchikoma based on the Ghost in the Shell manga, I also had to come up with some figs based on section 9, https://ghostintheshell.fandom.com/wiki/Public_Security_Section_9_(organization) These are my (purist) take on the members of section 9, from left to right: Saito - Tactical Sniper Motoko Kusanagi - Major/Field Commander Togusa - Investigator/2nd Field Commander Daisuke Aramaki - Lieutenant Colonel/Section Chief Batou - Lead Investigator Boma - Spotter, Investigator, and bomb specialist Pazu - Investigator Ishikawa - Covert Intelligence and Technology Executive Officer and a Fuchikoma who does not want to miss the photo session. Public Security Section 9 - 公安9課 by Ids, on Flickr Thanks for looking.
  3. The ultimate version of this vehicle, fought by Major Motoko Kusanagi in the 1995 anime film Ghost in the Shell, is now and always will be Cole Blaq's magnificent creation. But what I wanted was something a little smaller that I could display alongside my copies of Chris Hoffman's Swordfish II (from Cowboy Bebop) and Hachiroku24's Kaneda's Bike (from Akira). So for this build I worked at microscale and initially produced a couple of prototype designs in LDraw. From here I chose to develop the right-hand model further, replacing the eyes and redesigning the rear shell/body section so that it would be connected to the turning head instead of the chassis. The end result is a model that I think adequately captures the look of the iconic Think Tank and includes a nice amount of articulation and pose-ability. The head and shell rotate around a central pivot, the legs are fully pose-able, the chin-mounted belt-fed cannons can tilt and swivel, shoulder-mounted guns are included, and the retractable manipulator arms serve to clasp a statuette-scale Major by the skull. If you'd like to make your own copy, free instructions are available from my website (click link in my signature below).

    Kromikoma - Think Tank

Built form Marchikoma over at flickr. The Kromikoma is a multi purpose Node Runner. Unlike most of its peers it has no sense of humour and is liable to stab/shoot first and not bother with questions. Another difference lies in its inability to carry passengers, its abdomen contains its fusion core. I invested in some chrome parts for this and really enjoyed buidl this creation. I hope you enjoy this build as much I did making it.

    Mini-Koma - Age of Steam

While I was building the Coalikoma my nephew asked me to build him a small version to play with, here is the result. Steamikoma Louis Pasteur didn't just mess around with germs, he also built and sold automatons, he has just finished tuning the gears on this scout steamikoma. It primarily saw action in the conflicts between France and the enemy of the free world Muscovy, although rumour has it that some of these contraptions have found their way into the ranks of the British Empire too....
