May the 4th be with you. Welcome to Eurobrick's annual Star Wars contest! There are many ways to participate, and lots of ways to win! Yes, we're starting the contest a little early this year. But it goes through May 4th so that's all that counts, right!?! General Rules The contest runs April 5th through June 5th. As long as it's still June 5th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. All entries must be new builds not shown online or publicly before April 4th, 2023. Only official LEGO elements should be used. Avoid third party parts or clone bricks. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors. Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum with the title prefixed by, "[M4-23 - category] - entry name". (For example, "[M4-23 - 12x12 Vignette] – Sarlacc Pit".) You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture. The only size restrictions are the Minifigure Habitat and the Nature is After You categories. The other 2 categories can be any size or scale. As this is a Star Wars contest all entries need to be Star Wars related. A link should be included in this thread to ensure your entry is counted. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. Each contestant can only win 1 category prize and 1 individual prize, if multiple categories are won by the same contestant, he/she chooses which prize to receive and the other prizes will be awarded to the runner ups. You can use this stamp on your photos if you'd like: Judging Method There will be a team judges who will score builds based on the following criteria: Category: Pass/Fail Does your build fit the category? Majority vote of the judges decides pass/fail if the vote isn't unanimous. Storytelling ?/10 Does your build communicate a story all on it's own? Aesthetics ?/10 Detailing, build composition, and visual impact. Technical Ability ?/10 How well you use building techniques. SNOT, NPU, and movement are all elements of this category. Final Score: ?/30 Individual Awards Grand Admiral: awarded to the competitor with the highest total score combined from all entered categories. To win the Grand Admiral prize you must enter at least 3 categories. Categories Minifigure Habitat Create 3 or more purist Star Wars minifigures and a habitat for them. These minifigures should fit in context with their habitat. Maybe you create a room from the Jedi Temple with 3 Jedi. Or maybe a hanger bay with 2 mechanics and 1 pilot. The habitat should be no larger than 16x16x16. No odd combination baseplate footprints allowed. The largest a side may be is 16 studs. The tallest it may be is 16 studs. The habitat may be smaller than 16x16x16. Example: Imperial Ship Create a ship that would fit the Imperial aesthetic. You can use an existing ship design or create your own. You can create a TIE variant, shuttle variant, or something unique. Your ship must seat at least 1 human pilot and may be no larger than a Lambda class shuttle. So no Stardestroyers. A setting for your vehicle is allowed but not required. Example: Rogue Clone Show a Clone going against the norm. You can show a scene already represented in film media like Rex helping Ahsoka. Or you can create your own clone in his own scenario. Any scenario from the Clone Wars through Rebels is acceptable. Maybe the clone has "malfunctioned" and is killing Jedi before Order 66 is officially given. Or maybe your clone is refusing to obey the Empire anymore as we've seen in Bad Batch. Example: Nature Is After You! Create a scene from a jungle or forest planet and show why it's a dangerous place. You can create a scene from Felucia and show a plant eating someone. Or you can create a scene from Endor and show Ewoks eating a stormtrooper. Minimum size is 16x16. No maximum requirement. Example: Prizes Minifigure Habitat - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 35 Euro as their prize like: Imperial Ship - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 65 Euro as their prize like: Rogue Clone - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 90 Euro as their prize like: Nature Is After You! - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 140 Euro as their prize like: Grand Admiral - A set or sets with an equivalent value up to 240 Euro as their prize like: Fine Print By entering, you consent to Eurobricks reposting your entry on Eurobricks' social media channels, crediting you. [M4-23 - Imperial Ship] Imperial Boarding Craft (RB)

Rapid deployment, rapid success. The Imperial Boarding Craft (Rapid Boarding) is, despite its bulk, a fairly maneuverable craft capable of delivering troops and heavy infantry equipment to almost any target. Outfitted as a small armory, it can be used to breach an enemy position, and then facilitate further troop landings with support from the weapons within. Armed with two laser cannon turrets and equipped with magnetic clamps, boarding charges, and laser cutters, along with its decent troop capacity, this vehicle can pack a punch like the warhead it resembles. Originally a way to get into the craft, the cockpit section can come off. I decided to make it able to turn into a small repulsorlift scout flyer. It's unarmed, but could be modified to carry light weapons on the side, and I was able to put some cargo on the back, although I wasn't able to put a proper 'truck bed' in the back like I wanted to because of structure necessities. Although the model only has nine Stormtroopers, you could almost double that number, and maybe even squeeze in a few more (although I couldn't in Stud.io because posing a figure isn't as fine-tuned as IRL). There's an E-Web, a small power generator, a rocket launcher, a pair each of DLT-19 and T-21 blasters, thermal detonators, mortar shells, and an ion weapon; along with a couple cargo boxes. Everything can be removed, and other items placed in those spots. Unfortunately, I don't think a figure will fit along the sides, even sitting down. The landing gear work, though you have to remove some small plates from the underside to fully extend them. -
The Hunter has become the Hunted. The Rebels created a base within the swamps of Caligo, but the Empire has followed a team back to the planet and are looking for them. The rebels have been dealing with some subterranean nuisances, but unbeknownst to both sides, their presence has also disturbed one of Caligo's more territorial creatures, and Nature has decided to strike back. Only together can they survive. I was originally going to use the Rebel Pathfinders from Endor, but since Stud.io didn't have the parts, I created my own Rebel Jungle Troopers, with a similar situation with the Rebel jet trooper. I also wanted to include a reference to the E.T. easter egg, but I didn't know if that was allowed or not, so replaced it with the underground scene shown. Wasn't sure about the trees, but I wanted to include some appropriate foliage to accompany the scene.

Felucia can be a most perilous place! It's been years since my last post! I'd been considering posting again and this contest and all the entries inspired me to make the jump. Felucia is a remarkable aesthetic and very inviting for unusual parts usage. I had blast building this scene and hope you enjoy.

[M4-23 - Imperial Ship] Eta-5 Hybrid "WarHawk" Starfighter

This is my entry for the M4-23 Contest: the Eta-5 Hybrid "WarHawk" Starfighter: During the Great Jedi Purge, the Empire developed some new ship designs and upgraded some old ones, as the Darth Vader's Eta-2 Actis Intrceptor, or the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class starfighter, before reaching the "perfection" with the Tie-series. One of thoose prototype was the Eta-5 Hybrid Starfighter, codename "WarHakw", manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. This long range starfighter is basically an high-powered Hyperspace engine with a cockpit and a wing-sytem inspired by the previous Eta-2 class. The result was this hybrid ship, with a good agility in battle and the advantage of being self-contained and therefore perfect for solitary Jedi hunt. Provided with an astromech housing and a cargo-bay, the WarHawk allows to be a multi-purpose ship. I hope you like my work, all comments, suggestion and criticism are appreciated. Introducing the Imperial F-DX Courier Shuttle, designed to provide necessary cargo and supplies to the front line troops. A co-production between Cygnus and Sienar, this lightly armed but well armoured and shielded shuttle is capable of withstanding heavy fire in contested arena's. I had a lot of fun putting this build together. The challenge was to build a fully studless ship with some challenging techniques. The angled pods to the sides which house the engines achieve the angles through mixel joints and minifig stands to brace. The cockpit is accessible both by opening the cockpit or by a door underneath the cockpit. In world a door at the rear of the cockpit allows access to a small internal space for pilot's quarters on long missions. To keep the Imperial aesthetic i've opted for a simple LBG colour scheme with a DBG flourish. Additional images below to examine the build, let me know what you think! -

Time flies in the galaxy and children are always the future of it... In an almost lost farm of a volcanic planet in the Outer Rim Territories, a small family is celebrating a special day with some close friends with great food, drinks and gifts. This was a very fun build, trying to squeeze the scene from the Mandalorian into a tiny 16x16 build. Hope you like it!

ARC-988 also known as Loot deserted the Grand Army of the Republic, after a small skirmish on Naboo. His squad was tasked, to seek and destroy any remaining Trade Federation laboratory on the planet. In. 21BBY another laboratory was destroyed, but during the process, Tau squad was killed, and only Loot survived. Thanks to the natives, his health was restored. He now lives on Naboo, hiding both from the Separatists and the Republic, scavenging and looting from battlefields and trading them, with the locals. When the pilots, mechanics, and other support staff of the Rebel Alliance Starfighter Corps have a some downtime from missions and maintenance, they often partake in pastimes others may find a bit unusual. One of the increasingly popular ones is the racing of modified mouse droids. Some, however, are not amused... This was meant to be in a hangar, but ended up taking inspiration from the hallway(s) of the Tantive IV instead. The door was a bit difficult to squeeze in, but I wanted to include a working one to "seal off" the back. -
[M4-23 - Rogue Clone] Last Stand of the Old Guard

The Empire has come, but not all have given up on the Republic. A small Republic scout force was sent to set up an outpost on the planet Spiron. Soon after the New Order was announced, but the outpost was forgotten. The clones refused to believe the truth of Order 66, but they were cut off from help. One by one they have fallen, until only Kal has remained. He knows that the Empire will come to claim the planet and put down rebellion wherever they find it- but he won't abandon his brothers. Trying to get the tree to look right was a bit difficult, but I think I managed it. The last stand of Thorn kept popping into my mind, and that kind of meshed with the 'rebellious clone' motif to merge into this. I was also inspired by the old EU version of Order 66, where the clones were merely indoctrinated (and therefore could change) rather than brainwashed/controlled, which I like better anyways. -

Finally I present to you the MOC by my friend Jan-Hendrik and me: The Pirate Death Star some may have seen it in person in Skaerbaek last autumn but now I had time to post it... The different Death Stars are a building project invented by my LUG Steinhanse, so every year there will be several crazy Death Stars! Video Levels The death star consists of 4 levels and a big cannon, as the original lego set. The levels are devided as follows: Level 0: Deep Sea with fish and all the different sea creatures The Kraken Atlantis and more Level 1: Caves and shipwreck: The caves of the islanders, full of treasures. The pirates tavern under the hideout, partly in the old shipwreck. The dungeon of the redcoats The shipwreck Level 2: Island: The beach of the islanders The pirates hideout The Shipwreck bay The redcoats fort Level 3: Battle at sea : Ironhook and his Renegade Runner Revamp fighting Governor Broadside. Captain Redbeards crew on a treasure hunt, as well firing the big cannon. The redcoats lighthouse. The story of the plug. The caves have accessible stairways to the island. At sea level a technic chain powerd by a motor moves the boats and fish around. The big cannon fires a "Death Star cannon ball" All around in pictures: Level 0: Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: So, I hope there are not to much not not to few pictures.... INTRODUCTION The Mandalorian Season 3 has finished and Lego has started releasing sets based on its content. I ordered this on May 1st during Lego's May the 4th promo period. I got it today, 10 days later. Not too bad for shipping times. And let's be honest, if you were going to get this during May the 4th as like me then you had already made up your mind . So for the rest of you who were still wondering if this set was worth picking up let me share my thoughts. And let me add, I'm in the middle of moving/unpacking so I don't have my Lego or photo area set up yet. So this review is taken on a standard IKEA desk against a pleasant eggshell white painted wall I purchased this set with my own money. All opinions in this review are my own. SET INFORMATION Number: 75346 Title: Pirate Snub Fighter Theme: Star Wars Released: 2023 Part Count: 282 Box Dimensions: 26.2 x 19.1 x 6.1 cm Weight: 2304 gram Set Price (RRP): £29.99 / $34.99 / 34.99€ Price per Part: 10.5p / 12.3c / 12.3c Links: Brickset, Bricklink THE BOX The front of the box shows the Snub Fighter in an asteroid field. The back shows the ship landed on Nevarro. CONTENTS OF THE BOX Inside are 2 numbered bags and a small sticker sheet. I chose to apply all stickers but those on the cockpit canopy. THE BUILD The build is very standard. A lot of laying plates. An expected amount of SNOT. Nothing fancy. As I was building what's probably meant to be fuel tanks I was struck (not for the first time) by the jarring change from round bricks to the SNOT brackets. With all of the new molds Lego has been making every year I won't be surprised if the make a bracket with rounded edges soon. And the completed build gives you the grey snub fighter and two minifigures. It's a sleek little fighter that looks good from every angle. The only minor exception is when looking at it straight on. Here you can see the gap between the hinged tile and the roof slope. But it's not a huge gap and you can pretend it's part of the greebling. Speaking of greebling, behind the cockpit the set designer added some nice bits. Though I was disappointed that it was the exact same pattern on both the right and left sides. Greebling should have some variety to it. There are two storage compartments hidden in the ship. The first is in front of the control computer. And the second is behind the pilot. The cockpit canopy is a new color, trans-black. And it looks so good! Here it is compared with some actual black parts. This would make for great tinted windows in City vehicles. And overall it just looks very menacing. The figures include a Nikto pilot for the Snub Fighter and Vane, also a Nikto. The pilot is wearing a beehive pattern on a gun-metal torso and Chima-orange pants. His helmet is pearl gold and looks great. Vane is wearing an outfit that could work for a regular pirate and suits him well. However I wish the head-piece for Vane had a more accurate color match-up between his skin tone and the printed skin on top. Seems like another one of those areas Lego is willing to say "good enough" on. But it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to find what you needed to print on top of the black to get it to match. Both figs use the exact same head. I like that they have ridges printed on the back. But I wish they would have given us two different expressions on the front of the faces. OVERALL At $35 for only 282 pieces and two minifgures this set feels overpriced. It's a solid build, a sleek fighter, and the figs have nice prints. But it feels like a $25 set, $30 if I'm being generous. I highly recommend the set if you can find it on sale. SCORE How do I rate this set? I started my MOC year 2018 by making the cheapest TIE craft in the Imperial fleet, and now I end this year by making the most expensive one. The TIE Defender only recently made it into canon, but back in 1994 when it debuted in Lucas Arts' TIE Fighter game, it was a beast. Faster than an A-Wing, tougher than a B-Wing and more manouverable than the Interceptor, the Defender does all a starfighter does, just better*. Now I have it in LEGO form... which was pretty interesting to get to. Because since there is no true canon representation of the ship except for Rebels... which I'll get to in short... I could give myself some leeway when it comes to accuracy and give it the coolest shape I could think of while still preserving core features. The Defender as seen in Rebels has slightly different shape: Much like... well, almost everything, Rebels took a nice design and changed it... for reasons unknown. Let's just say I am not a fan of this rear-heavy design, nor do I like the tall-neck ISDs or featureless toy-looking basic T/F line fighters. Not to mention if I went with this one it would tip forward because the center of mass is further to the front than the furthest flat piece of the wings. Instead I based my design having this one in mind: The only real alteration I did was making top guns a bit different to distinguish them - after all these are supposed to be ion cannons, and added visible missile launchers in a place which made at least some logical chance - on the panel centers. Anyway no matter which design you pick, the Defender is an odd one. The ball is just tacked on to a triple support base, panels are bent in wrong way and it is always going to look top heavy because, well, it is. Engines were contested point between me and BrickVault. We tried several solutions, but the final fight was between these two: I still believe the Defender, being THAT FAST should have large, prominent engines, but eventually we picked a less-in-your-face design as seen on top, while still making more sense than what Rebels did with theirs. Structurally this design perhaps the toughest one of all the ships to date, except maybe the Bomber. But it is hard to compare something to the Twin Flying Brick, This is the first TIE in my line which has an interior, thanks to Inthert for inspiration! It fits any kind of TIE pilot and altough you need to remove the quarter dome pieces to put him there, they are lightly attached on one stud so this is super easy. Tell me what you think! This build, as usual this year, is available through http://brickvault/toys as instructions, which you can get to support us! *When it comes to OP starfighters, the Defender is the top dog - with sole exception of the Missile Boat which is as ridiculous compared to the T/D as the T/D is to anything else. To put it shortly, Missile Boat is almost twice as fast, holds enemy ships in place with tractor beams and carries ten times the ordnance count of what B-Wing carries. And the MB is pretty small ship.

[Instructions] Mortesv's CR-90 Corvette - Blockade Runner (Tantive IV)

Finally, an official addition to your Rebel Fleet is here! After over a year of tweaks and specifics, mortesv's CR-90 Corvette is officially ready to be released to the public! The MOC itself contains 2,808 parts, and its manual is 133 pages long. The MOC is built to the same scale as the Nebulon-B, making a perfect addition to a rebel fleet. Lots of interest has been generated for this MOC, and mortesv and I are really glad to make its release to the community! Looking forward to seeing all of the improved fleets as well as those that will begin with this ship. If you would like to build this MOC, we are happy to share it with you in exchange for $30. MOC of the Flarestar-class Attack Shuttle, a saucer-like craft used by Hondo Ohnaka's Weequay pirate gang. Sometimes also referred to as Penumbra-class Attack Shuttle. It showed up in season 1, transporting the captive Count Dooku, and in season 5. The ship in Lego form has been scaled down slightly, to system-scale, to make use of certain rounded pieces. The canopies open up, and two front boarding ramps lead up to them. These ramps can fold out but an extension has to be added for the stairs to reach the ground. There is also the main boarding ramp in the rear that can open up, leading to the main cargo hold with space for one figure, and folding landing gear (when displaying the model with a clear brick as support, the landing gear also needs extensions). Hey everybody, I'm new to the community but I've been MOC designing for sometime now and I have finished my massive project. I've been working on it for just under two years, The ISD II The Eviscerator. It sits on a single removable stand measuring at 148 studs long with 19,225 pieces. I really wanted to capture that "It doesn't look like Lego" feel and try to give it a studio model vibe. One of my goals for this build was to have only one stand that the model sits on securely. This was an incredible challenge due to the size and weight of the model. In fact, it's what took the most time to develop through out the build. Overall, I'm satisfied with how the model turned out. This is more accurately representing an ISD II Destroyer. I tried to pay attention to every detail I could, based on a couple of star destroyer sources. It's a very modular build making it easier to assemble and disassemble. There is no interior in this model. Just pure structural integrity throughout the entire inside. Just the frame and stand are 6,000+ pieces, but this was my goal. Create as accurate of model as I could, displayed on one removable stand, and not having to limit detail because of weight and size. Which started as modding the original 7965 Set ended up a with a little more changes than expected. first of All big credits to Kit Bricksto (did the Falcon ever finish?) , Inthert (Systemscale and interior), Joerg Kuehni (Mandibles), Fenk512(docking rings) which inspired me most and many of their details ended up in this Falcon. I also love to see what people do in the great UCS Millennium Falcon Mod Topic. Well, the reasons for choosing the Falcon in systemscale are quite simple: Not enough Money for the UCS; Not even enough Space in my flat for the size of the UCS and I wanted to fit the Falcon to the other Lego sets I own from back in the days. So I try to stick with the original size. I know there are proportions that don’t really fit, e.g. the size of the window at the gun turrets or the size of the access bays of the mandibles… But in the end I wanted to get the most iconic details into this one so this is how i dealt with it. I also began with the interior which i will upload later.

Hello everyone, finally after almost 10 months I can present my new MOC. This time I decided to make a risky choice and wanted to recreate a "mighty and bad" vehicle that when I saw Episode IX immediately reminded me of a snowmobile. I spent a lot of time designing the two troopers. I wanted to recreate the right anatomy and I wanted to capture the right details. Little is seen in the film but this too is a medium that deserved a UCS version. To give you an idea, the "Driver Trooper" helmet is made up of 137 bricks and the "Jet Trooper" helmet is made up of 141 bricks. As usual in recent years I present a new Christmas moc. The war that broke out between Russia and the Ukraine has touched the collective world soul a lot and so this year I wanted to give a message of solidarity by saying Stop the Wars! To do this I decided to create a nice diorama taking up the Star Wars theme of which I am a big fan. For once the Empire and the Rebellion in a famous scene of Hoth (from the movie "The Empire Strikes Back") decide to make peace and sit down at a decorated table to celebrate Christmas! All weapons have been laid down, speeders and tools of war like the AT-ST have stopped, and everyone celebrates together. Some peculiarities of the diorama are the spit-roast chicken that can rotate thanks to a side knob, R2-D2 and C1P8 in a Christmas version, a custom printed sign of "STOP WARS". A side housing also allows you to turn on small LED lights to illuminate some parts of the diorama. I hope it is appreciated and Merry Christmas to all! As an absolute fan of the original trilogy, I had to build more Empire ships in Midi-Scale. I decided to start with my favorite TIE model, the TIE Advanced. This 496-piece TIE Advanced features a fully SNOT and detailed surface. It also includes rear engine thrusters at the back of the cockpit dome. Most importantly, being able to design smooth but razor thin wings was the key to making this build look proportionate and realistic. The same applies for the rear section of the fuselage which, being only 1 tile-high, ended up looking just a thin as the original prop model. Logically, the ship scales well to my previous TIE Reaper - I'll keep exploring more of these in the same scale, and maybe one day have a whole fleet of Midi TIE ships! ► Instructions will be available at Rebrickable soon. INTRODUCTION Lego has been making Jedi Starfighters, or Delta-7 Aethersprites for the true Star Wars geek, since 2002. In 2008 Lego approached the Delta-7 design again, shrinking the proportions down. And in 2010 we even got a UCS model of Obi-Wan's Delta-7. So how does the 2022 model hold up? SET INFORMATION Number: 75333 Title: Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter Theme: Star Wars Released: 2022 Part Count: 282 Box Dimensions: 26.2 x 19.1 x 6.1 cm Weight: 2304 gram Set Price (RRP): 34.99 EUR / 29.99 GBP / 29.99 USD / Price per Part: 12.4 EUR / 10.6 GBP / 10.6 USD Links: Brickset, Bricklink THE BOX Nothing to write home about, the box showcases the Delta-7 on a Kamino backdrop. The back of the box shows the play features. And the side highlights Taun We. CONTENTS OF THE BOX Inside are 3 numbered bags and a fairly large sticker sheet for a set of this size. THE BUILD Working through the instructions, the build is pretty straight forward. Finishing Bag 1 gives us the main body of the fighter. The first bag only has 1 sticker to apply. But once you start Bag 2 the stickers start flying. I'm generally not a fan of stickers but am willing to accept them as a part of how Lego does things. But when you have to apply them in the middle of pieces all my patience goes out the window. Really Lego? This is the best you could do? The sticker only adds a little bit to the aesthetics of the model. It's a pain to place correctly. And it has almost no re-use value in MOCs. Finishing Bag 2 adds the right wing to the model. And wrapping up Bag 3 gives us the completed set. The ship is sleek and swooshable. It looks good from every angle unless you have it completely flipped upside down. And even then it's not too bad. But how does it compare to the source material? Here are a few shots from Episode 2. And here's what we got: It's ok, but only just ok. The nose isn't pointy. The wings have too much pitch to them, they should be more flat. And the cockpit is all wrong. Kids will love it, but if you're looking for a screen accurate Lego counterpart then you'll have to keep searching. So what about the minifigures? Where Lego failed on the Starfighter model they succeed with the minifigures. Obi-Wan's haircolor still isn't right, but his 2 expressions fit him perfectly. Taun We has fantastic printing and has the right height. And we get a full R4-P17 instead of just the head like on the original 2002 model. There's no back printing on R4, but both figures have it. It would have been nice to get a cape for Obi-Wan. But they settled for printing his cloak instead. The printing looks good and a cape would have been squished in the cockpit anyway. Before this set was released there was a fake leak of a Lego Kaminoan figure using a minidoll body. It look fantastic and I wish Lego would have gone that route. But as far as minifigure sized Kaminoans go Taun We looks good. Yes, the neck is thicker than I'd prefer. But that's necessary to attach it to the torso. OVERALL There are some pros and some cons to this set. It's a sturdy, swooshable model that includes great minifigures. But it doesn't do the source material justice. Lego has yet to make a really good minifigure scale Delta-7. This set captures the essence of Obi-Wan's starfighter, but not the detail. SCORE How do I rate this set? DESIGN 6 This set is not that different from previous Delta-7s. It's sturdy, but it doesn't look enough like the source material. BUILDING EXPERIENCE 6 There's nothing amazing about the building process. The best aspect was that Lego separated the right and left wings into different bags. This meant I didn't have to go searching for a right angle plate in a pile of left angle ones. FEATURES 4 You can shoot studs and swoosh it around. That's about it. PLAYABILITY 9 It plays like a $30 model. Not much too it but then again there's not much expected. PARTS 8 While certainly not a parts-pack this model still has a good selection. The new wedge slopes come un-printed in white. And you get a good selection of Dark Red. The figures are all unique. VALUE FOR MONEY 7 The set does not feel like a $30 set. It feels like a $20 one. But Lego knows collectors will want that Taun We figure so they raised the price. FINAL SCORE: 7 If you're looking for a cheaper Lego gift for that Star Wars fan in your family this set does ok. It's not the best Lego has to offer. But it's not going to break the bank either.

INTRODUCTION Large scale droids are nothing new for the Star Wars line. But a droid based on a video game? That's new territory for Lego. We've received sets from various Star Wars video games like Battlefront, Old Republic, and Force Unleashed. But this is the first time we've received a large scale display piece as our only set to represent a game. Is the set good enough to satisfy Jedi Fallen Order players even without a Cal Kestis figure? SET INFORMATION Number: 75335 Title: BD-1 Theme: Star Wars Released: 2022 Part Count: 1062 Box Dimensions: 35.4 x 37.8 x 7.05 cm Weight: 1162 gram Set Price (RRP): 99.99 EUR / 89.99 GBP / 99.99 USD / Price per Part: 9.4 EUR / 8.5 GBP / 9.4 USD Links: Brickset, Bricklink THE BOX The front shows the Fallen Order logo, the game from which this model is inspired. And on the back we see the few play features included. CONTENTS OF THE BOX Inside are 8 numbered bags (3 of which are for step 3) and a sealed instructions plus sticker. Despite being sealed, my instructions were warped and my sticker nearly so. THE BUILD We can see from the beginning of the instructions that the model is built in 2 main parts, the body and then the head. This set has some parts and recolors that are new for me. First off being this technic connector. Bricklink tells me it first came out last year, but has only been in three other sets which explains why I haven't seen it before now. It's used in BD-1 to add security for the neck connection. Next up on the new-part-list are these large click hinge attachments. It's new for this year and has been used in eight other large creature/robot sets. It's essentially a converter for the two different kinds of click hinges and adds a lot of versatility of movement in a small space. Just a little ways into the building process and BD-1 is really starting to take shape. The legs are fleshed out by attaching two different sections to the top and bottom technic beams. These are very secure and match up perfectly with each other. The technic beams remain exposed on the feet which is unfortunate as there should be more white covering that area. But overall the end result looks pretty good. Finishing the lower half we start into the head. It's a pretty hollow structure as you can see. And there is a nicely integrated drawer for the Stim Canisters. Finishing the head you attach it to the body using larger click hinges in white. It's a very simple attachment, but very effective. The end result is extremely sturdy. And here's the end result! The head can tilt left and right a little which adds emotion to this little robot. The back of the head uses light and dark blue round tiles to simulate the computer lights. The back of the feet uses the newer 2L bar and a silver candlestick to replicate a piston. From the side you can see the details on the side of the head. You can also see the negative results of how the feet and legs are built. From the front only the feet look a little bare. From the side you can see the exposed technic elements and hollow sections. A few mods would fix it and it's not glaringly noticeable. So it's a minor quibble. The legs have limited range of movement. There's a lot of versatility in the hips. But the "knees" and "ankles" are completely stationary. So this pose is about as crazy as you can get. I wish there were more options for posing. Though I understand it would have affected stability quite a bit. Of course you always have the option to do the splits. And while the posing is limited, there are a few fun ways you can arrange BD-1. Here's the droid looking embarrassed. And here's he's looking up at his owner with expectation. Around the eyes there's some really fun piece match-ups. The eyes are attached with technic pins and the flaps fold down on clip hinges. They meet up perfectly showing the genius of Lego math! If you're not careful a small gap can appear as seen above, but it's easy to push the two sections back into position as seen in the bottom half of the photo. The Stim Canister drawer opens just enough to see 3 canisters loaded. The drawer stays closed or slides open as desired. If you really move the model around the drawer might slide open unwanted, but not usually. The Stims are really hard to get out when the drawer is open. And no spring is included to recreate BD-1 launching them to you when your health is low The easiest way to get the Stims out is actually when the drawer is closed. Since the head is so hollow you can just shake BD-1 a little bit and they'll drop out the neck. The Stim Canisters themselves don't look much like their game counterpart. I'd have gone with trans-blue instead of green. And all three are attached together with the technic half-beam so you can't get a single one apart. That's good for storage and movement, but a compromise when it comes to accuracy. Here you can see the hollow inside of the head. It's only noticeable from certain angles. But when you can see the underside it looks very unfinished. Overall the model is very sturdy. Here the head is extended all the way back and the legs are still able to hold everything up. The set comes with a minifigure scale BD-1, shown on the left. Also released this year was a blue version in the Mandalorian N-1 set shown on the right. The only difference is the paint job. Red is the classic skin for BD-1 in the game so it makes sense that Lego went with that. But I know many customizers will be pleased that there's a blue version available too. It would have been fun if the set came with multiple skins for the "minifigure", but it's completely understandable that they didn't. OVERALL This is a fantastic set. The end result is well built and instantly recognizable as the BD-1 droid from Fallen Order. It's displayable in a few different, fun positions that would look great on any desk or shelf. I have a few complaints all dealing with Lego's choice to go with form over function. But if you have to choose only one of those Lego made the right choice as the end model looks great. SCORE How do I rate this set? DESIGN 9 This set is designed really well. A few areas where the technic parts show through, but overall it looks sleek. BUILDING EXPERIENCE 10 BD-1 was a lot of fun to build! The model really comes together nicely and the sub-models all fit nicely. FEATURES 9 This is a display model which is its main feature. And it does that pretty well. I wish there was a little more flexibility in the legs, but it's a minor complaint. The Stim Canister drawer is a fun addition even if it's challenging to get the canisters out. PLAYABILITY 9 This is not meant to be a play model. But because you can pose the head a lot I think it ticks a lot of the playability boxes for a set like this. PARTS 10 There is a very nice selection of parts in this set. It's not a parts pack, but you certainly get your money's worth. VALUE FOR MONEY 10 This is easily worth $100. You get over 1,000 parts and the end result feels substantial and looks great. FINAL SCORE: 9.5 BD-1 can't sit on your shoulder. I tried and couldn't get it to balance well enough to even get a picture! But you can display it on flat surfaces and it'll look fantastic. And if you don't like the classic red color scheme it's very easy to customize this set. Overall a fantastic model for any Star Wars fan.

[MOC] 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Revisited

Hello to the community. Here my (digital) redesign of the LEGO Star Wars Sets 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser from 2009. It was my first Design / MOC in 2020 (January). You'll find some pictures below. The holographic briefing room can be simply detached from the hangar, similar to the original (they're connected with pins). The A-Wing is a mix from the Sets 75175 (main structure), 75003 (the front) und 7754 (detachable engine). There're are however no flickrcanons or springshooters anymore. ;-) A friendly user draw attention to a huge bug I completly forgot to consider and to test: the A-Wing is probably too long (or large) to rotate completely 360 degrees. Shame on me. :-( The choice and design of the minifigures is very basic, I had to work with the parts that exist actually in Bricklink Studio. As usual I tried to avoid rare / expensive parts as much as possible, the old printed AT-AT Dish and (maybe) the long 32 Axle should be the only ones. This will avoid frustration for users when I change mind and decide however to create building instructions. I hope you like the MOC.
