    [MOC] When Themes Collide

Hi all, Here's my latest moc, I wanted to have a go at building castles and spaceships and try a larger scale as I think its part of a Lego fans rite of passage. I had a lot of fun making this, hope you like it : )

    New Monorail

I have been developing the new Monorail system suggested by Masao Hidaka on LEGO Cuusoo Folder when moderated My layout has straights, curves and slopes well proven. The sizes are 1.5x the original - 48M curve radius and 6-wide (or wider) trains. I also tried a figure-eight with the crossing. So far I have a 5-car train with 2 motors, LiPo battery and IR Receiver. Top speed is a bit more than the original but it is also variable with the train remote. I am working on a flat crossing, which TLG patented for the original monorail but never released. Shown here is the rail-flattening version but I also have a turning rail version. I am also working on the motor switch function using a PF pole reverser on the train. I have yet to do points but Hidaka has started on these, as well as a crossover. All tracks are made from sustainable basic parts. TLG can't take away our monorail again - as long as there are basic parts there will be monorail! There is also more variation possible. I have an 80M/10-brick slope and two 48M/5-brick slopes. Both use the same angle modules at the ends, calculated not to strain parts and each joint fixed with two clip/bar hinges for robustness. I got into 0.1M offsets to make the angles! The black and yellow colour scheme fits with Blacktron quite well but you can vary the colours to suit your chosen theme. TLG will never make the original monorail again, no matter how much we might wish for it, because it is not commercially viable. I believe this system presents a sustainable future for LEGO Monorail. That's why I decided to help develop it. Please try it yourself and support it on LEGO Cuusoo Mark

[M-A05] A day at the beach

    - Log of Agent G - - I have recently arrived on the planet designated A05, or more commonly known as Yallorn II. The flora resembles a typical jungle environment, but the ocean that surrounds each island seems to cool the land, therefore eliminating the hot and sweaty aspect of the jungle. This also allows for some interesting insects and animals. I've reached the edge of one of the larger of the many islands, and am proceeding to inspect the nature of the water. Agent G out. - C&C welcome.

    The V19-83 Starship

Hey everybody this is my first time posting so please tell me if I did something wrong or you need more clarification on something. This is the V19-83 Starship. It's something I am working on for a comic I am creating. The basic story of this is that it is a prototype that was left unfinished and found by my protagonist. I wanted something that in essence would be bare-bones but unique. I would like for this ship to change and grow as the story continues which is personally one of my favorite aspects in storytelling. I've always loved when the characters get a new base or upgraded gadgets. I wrote descriptions on every photo I took in my main album so I'm linking a couple of my favorite pictures here and if you would like to see more and read about my thoughts then feel free to visit the entire album. https://www.flickr.com/gp/133010472@N06/9VC3N3

    [K-D10] The Hamilton Belt Mine

Okay, I might've overdone it a little this week. The build consists of 2331 pieces and should be legal/stable (I've actually added a couple of "bearing pillars" behind the scenes, so it would make sense in real life. This is a continuation of Commander/Agent Beltar's build from earlier this week (which can be found here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109963), and it's actually implemented (almost in its entirety) in this one). I hope you like it! Tags: Building, Mining, Space, Kawashita, Engineer, Structure --//Transmission Begin. Date: 3105(38)15. Scramble code: kliuJHBGaow8a3rllvmMma.//-- Q's log: The Hamilton Belt Mining, 31 Maian 3815 I arrived at the asteriod which Agent Beltar discovered last week on D10, The Hamilton Belt. As Mister S noted, it is quite peculiar to find liquid Awsomnium on an asteroid like this. However, I do have a theory to why this is the case here. After doing some readings, I found that the whole asteroid is highly ferrous (Note to self: After Awsomnium mining is finished, consider asteroid for metal mining). Due to the high frequency, rotation of the asteriod, this result in creating a highly erratic magnetic field. Now, if the once solid Awsomnium deposits of the asteriod suddenly became liquid, such as through a high energy Gamma burst from a nearby star, the quickly shifting magnetic would probably be enough to infuse the Awsomnium with enough energy for it to stay liquid. Hmmm... The magnetic field would actually also explain Beltar's difficulty in reaching HQ, as it would scramble most of his transmissions. Very impressive of his robot, PauL, to withstand such a field... In all honesty, it almost seems like PauL has been able to withstand... *ehm*... "scrambling"... better than his owner. When we arrived, Beltar started shouting... actually, it's probably better if I include the actual recording: Q's log: Arrival at The Hamilton Belt, 29 Maian 2815. Audio recording. Beltar: "ARE YOU HERE? REALLY? OR ARE you just in my mind? Like the others?" Q: "I can assure you Agent, me and my crew is really here, and we're here to extract the deposits you found." B: "OH, YES! There's so much Awsomnium, you should really see it! Okay, bye." Q: "Yes, we will, that's why we're here... wait, are you going? Where? B: "Can't talk, must get off this rock. Been here 2 weeks. Bye. PauL, let's go!" PauL: "Yes sir." Recording end. Seriously, that guy hasn't had any real contacts with humans in weeks, he has this conversation, and then 10 minutes later, he is off? I hope he turns out okay, especially considering that he left most of his resources here. Also... what's up with his skin tone? Anyway, back to the matter at hand... The mining is going well, despite there being some... interesting abnormalities as a result of finding liquid Awsomnium on such a small asteroid. First of all there is the gravity. The Awsomnium doesn't stream and fall as much as just... floating in different directions. However, the effect is not as noticable as one might think - I estimate that the Awsomnium is still "falling" at a pace around 1/5 of Terra's gravity - once again a result of the asteroid's magnetic fields. Still, there is something oddly soothing about watching those slow-falling purple "water falls". In order to pump up the Awsomnium in the most efficient way, I've invented a pump type which I call "The Sweeper". Essentially, what it does is have a number of autonomous, semi-intelligent "arms", which home in on fast flowing Awsomnium currents, leading them to the "final resting place", and when that is swept up, back to the original well. At the moment, Awsomnium seems to be flowing from the core faster than we are able to sweep it up (again, the magnetic fields), but I have my crew out, making adjustments, in order to bolster the Sweeper's efficiency. There also seem to be some durability issues with the pipes due to the extremely high energy density of floating Awsomnium. Still, it's not outside the expected range. I expect that, when running at full capacity, we should be able to extract all Awsomnium from the asteroid within 2-3 weeks, generating 25-30 standard size tanks, which should be able to power our fleet for at least a couple of weeks. 10. Exploration log: M first assignment out of M.A.N.T.I.S training was to explore the uncharted Barker's Folly asteroid belt in search of awesomnium. Landing my Stalker craft next to a small depression I get out and begin the search on foot. At the beginning of the exploration of the depression I discover the remains of an old asteroid prospector holding a system map. He wont be needing that anymore. It might hold some useful information. I must be close. Starting to drill into the side of the depression. Eureka! I have struck a small vein of awesomnium! This Rock looks good for further processing by M.A.N.T.I.S top engineers. Setting up the signal beacon. An overall view of the build Off to explore the rest of the asteroid belt. I will analyze the system map back at M.A.N.T.I.S headquarters. For M.A.N.T.I.S! End Transmission:

  16. I am introducing my TECHTRONERS EMT TEAM characters that I will probably post in one bigger set render a few days later...so what do you say (any thoughts and constructive critique is welcomed)?
  17. Hey people, I've just finished logo for my own CS pseudo-subtheme Techtroners (I was trying to somewhat remain within the limits of the "GreatOldOnes" yet incorporating some fresh visual ideas): the middle golden object should remind you several things like letter "T" (ehm, as for "Techtroners", right? ), also stylized Michelangelo's "person" with widely stretched out hands, maybe high voltage pylon too (as Techtroners are mainly technicians... ) + in background there is a blue planet (although not Earth still evoking it by the water color) and the rocket from the 80's CS logo this time making circles not around the planet itself but the middle "T" object instead - what do you think, hm? BTW somewhere in the middle of the process there was a brief moment when it almost look like the old WWII german eagle holding the sw...ika so I rather immediately changed/redesigned it avoiding any misunderstanding ...but I had to admit purely as a design it was perfect tho . Anyway I am hoping you will like the final "product" so please let me know your opinions in the comment section if you will... Colors of the bricks are used in the way I am using it within the Techtroners subtheme...yellow, white, black, trans dark blue.

[SPC] Cat C - Shipwreck Encampment

Shipwreck Encampment: Deep among the dunes of a vast alien desert, a long forgotten shipwreck basks in the searing extraterrestrial sunlight. Seeking refuge from pursuing authorities, a band of scoundrelish space pirates has made their camp here. A line of speeder exhaust stretches through across the desert to the hideout, denoting the arrival of a shipment of the pirates treasure... Haven't posted here in a while! Here's my entry to the Space Pirates Contest. I usually build castle, so doing a space moc was a fun challenge, but something I've been wanting to do for a while. Thanks for checking it out! ;) Soli Deo Gloria!

    Space Patroller MkII

So, as a kid, I had a couple of 6830 Space Patroller. I loved it. I saw a complete with instructions one on Bricklink for cheap, and decided I wanted to relive some childhood joy, so bought it. Although it's still a fun little design for it's time, it's hardly a match on today's designs. I started to wonder what I could come up with as a homage to it. Here's what I came up with. And for reference, the original: It keeps all the major beats, twin mounted front cannons, opening canopy, twin removable robots, swing wings, plus I added landing gear, and engines that aren't also robots. All in all, I'm not 100% satisfied with it, I think I strayed too far away from the basic shape, but I thought it was good enough to show off here none the less.

  22. In the farthest reaches of the outer rim, there is a space pirate who is so feared throughout the galaxy that no one dares speak his name: Captain IronClaw! With his crew of cyborg misfits, he has marauded many planets and killed many people, dodging the Imperial troops of the Galactic Empire every step of the way. When you hear the screeching of his gears and the clanking of his cold iron claw, you better run! Let's meet the cew: Captain IronClaw Captain Iron Claw's past is shrouded in mystery. No one really knows where he came from or even what species he was. All that is known is that he used to be a man who increasingly became fed up with the Empire's rule, so he became an outlaw and cybernetically enhanced his own body until he became the fiercest killing machine the galaxy had ever known. Now his body is comprised of various robotic parts that he acquired throughout his many raids. His signature weapon is a large, sharp claw on his left arm with a built-in ion cannon. Along with his fiery plasma sword, he is ready for any battle! This figure is fully posable and about the same size as a Bigfig. On his back, he carries his dark matter power supply. Hidden behind his faceplate and iron armor is IronClaw's only remaining organic body part: his brain. Parrot Drone X9000 The X9000 is the latest Parrot brand drone (yes, those are still around in the far future). With its silent rotors it can stealthily fly anywhere, and with its high definition camera and microphone, it can spy on enemies and even IronClaw's own crew. Then it can return to Captain IronClaw and repeat the conversations to him, so he always knows the Empire's next move and if there are traitors among his crew. The parrot drone can dock onto IronClaw's right arm, allowing him to download data from the drone directly. Claudette Noxxington Claudette is the daughter of the Admiral Noxxington, the leader of the Galactic Imperial Armada. She developed a very rebellious personality early on due to her father being a rule-following man who spent most of his time away from home, enforcing the Empire's laws. She got kidnapped by Captain IronClaw and his men when they plundered her home planet, but ended up earning their respect and joining their crew in order to spite her father. She has since become IronClaw's second in command and secretly developed a crush on him. The Admiral doesn't believe that his daughter would willingly join the pirates, so he blames Captain IronClaw for her not returning home. He had always been on the hunt for IronClaw, but now it's personal. Scabbers the Cook There is a rat in the kitchen! Or should I say, the rat IS the kitchen. Scabbers was a rat living on IronClaw's ship until he got exposed to radiation from the ship's reactor and was mutated into a human-sized person. Oddly enough, he soon became fascinated with cooking and became the ship's cook. He got himself some robotic legs and continued to enhance himself with various cooking utensils until he became a walking kitchen. Unfortunately, he is not a very good cook, but lucky for IronClaw, he has become so mechanic that he doesn't require food anymore. The abdomen of Scabbers' spider-like robot body doubles as a cooking pot. He can turn his upper body around and start cooking on the built-in stove on his lower body. Sharko the Sharkonian Sharko is a Sharkonian warrior from a water planet simply known as "Shark Planet". He is not the smartest being in the galaxy, but what he lacks in brains he makes up with brawn. When IronClaw first met him, Sharko bit off IronClaw's right leg. Impressed with his strength, IronClaw adopted him into his crew and appointed him his elite bodyguard. He gave him robotic legs so he can walk on land and a breathing apparatus that supplies him with the water he needs to breath. Whenever IronClaw needs to "feed someone to the sharks," he simply hands them off to Sharko. With his razor sharp teeth and large Sharkonian axe, Sharko is one warrior that is not to be messed with. His only weakness is his appetite. He is always hungry and he's the only one on the crew who actually likes Scabbers' cooking. Maraudenator Talk about a skeleton crew. The Maruadenators are mass-produced robot skeletons that make up most of IronClaw's crew. They are merciless, tough to kill, and best of all, expendable. They come equipped with claws on their hands and feet and a standard-issue blaster rifle. I hope you like them and look forward to your comments!

[SPC] Cat B - Fort Raid

Sometime in the 17th century, there is an Imperial fort in the middle of the Caribbean where a pirate is being held prisoner. The fort is built on a rocky cove and some of the soldiers swear they have seen a mermaid calling out to them from the water. The Bluecoats think their fort is impenetrable, but a pirate captain is about to lead a raid on the fort to free his captured fellow pirate. Thousands of years later, on a far away asteroid deep in space, history repeats itself as a space pirate is attacking a Galactic Imperial base to break out a fellow pirate from a high-security prison. The Classic Pirates version was built by just2good while the space version was built by me. Let's take a closer look at them, starting with the classic version. The classic fort features a pier, a main building with a crane, and a prison cell with a cannon on top. Like in the official Lego sets, both forts are open backed for easy access to the interior. There is a wooden bridge connecting the pier with the main building, but watch out, some of the planks are a bit decayed and might give in. Inside the building, there is a bottle of rum, a rat, and a map of the area. On the second floor, there is the crane, a barrel with weapons, and a ladder that leads up to the roof. From there, the Bluecoats can look out for incoming ships and fend off enemies with a small catapult. This is also where they keep there equipment and the key to the prison. There is a mermaid that lives in this cove and occasionally seduces the soldiers. While the soldier is distracted, the pirate captain sneaks in to free his friend. The prisoner is free and the pirates have taken back the confiscated treasure! But the Governor won't let them leave without a fight! Here is a better look at the pirates, the mermaid, and some of the accessories. And here are the Bluecoats. Now lets make a time jump to the far future where the Galactic Empire has colonized the far reaches of space. This space fort has the same kind of features as the classic fort: a landing pad, a main building with a crane, a prison tower with a cannon on top, and a small pirate ship. Once again, the back is open for easy play. The door to the main building opens up. Inside the main building are a few computers and a fire extinguisher. Inside the control tower, there is a small armory and a glass dome with HUD displays from where the governor can oversee the entire fort. The laser bars of the prison cell can be raised and so can the light bridge to prevent escapes. Inside the prison cell there isn't much except a bunk. On top of the main building there is a large robotic arm crane for unloading cargo from landed ships. On top of the prison tower, there is a huge laser cannon that can turn 360 degrees and aim up and down. The space pirate captain is dueling the governor for the freedom of his crew member on the landing pad bridge. Here is a closer look at the small ship that the space pirate captain uses to get to the fort. This nimble fighter features the pirate insignia on the wings, a main engine, and two extra thrusters. Here you can see the pirate captain on the right and the pirate prisoner in the middle. The creature on the left is one of the aliens inhabiting the asteroid the fort is built on. It carries some sort of alien artifact. Manning the Imperial fort are the Governor and three bluecoat troopers, named so for their dark blue armor. The troopers have standard issue rifles and blasters whereas the governor carries a golden jetpack and a custom light sword. Note that all these figs have the same faces as in just2good's entry! We hope you enjoyed our entry. You can see more pictures in just2good's Flickr and my photostream.
