Here is my new MOC. After doing for 5 years with the winter season I wanted something summer! On the first day of Spring, however, this moc came to my mind. I imagined drinking a good coffee sitting at the coffee table at a seaside bar. So I decided to design this moc very different from my usual themes but just as fun to build. The moc is built on four 32x32 bases. As an inspiration I chose the Riviera Ligure where I occasionally make a turn, but all that was invented without relying on real scenes. The four colorful buildings you see in the background are (starting from the left): a bar, a souvenir shop, a grocery store, a florist. At first I wanted to do only the part of the facade and then I decided to make simple interior embellishments (as always) from the back. The cobblestone part is a classic walk through the seaside villages with benches, lanterns, flower beds ... The beach is still not crowded because I imagined a pre-summer period in which there are still few people around. The entire moc was built in 3 months (in time scraps) employing about 5,500 pieces. I've used the shipwreck from 60095 set, 60091 set and the landscape module from 60092 set to create a LEGO based aquarium landscape. It took me around two months to create the optimal equilibrium between substratum, background, plants and fish population. Now everything is ok and the Neon Tetra group members found their night shelter under the shipwreck's cabin. Grids M6 and M7 (general map). Ldd build. After knowing that the Spriznulo Navy failed the trials with 2 drones on grids L6, L7, M6, M7, the 4th flotilla of the Erotema Submarine Force departed from her main naval base in an attempt to recover such valuable technology and return it to the legitimate owner. ES 411 (Erotema submarine 411) is underway to grids M6 and M7 in silent running in case the passive sonar array can detect any distress signal or abnormal noise coming from the lost drones. According to the Strategic Electronic Warfare Units, there is evidence of an unknown radar signal first detected on grid L6 that followed a path to grids M6 and M7 before disappearing from the radar screens. As Spriznulo is an allied, it is vital that the COAC finds the drones before any RON nation do. Secret orders, known as Letters of Last Resort (yes, I have copied the name from the Royal Navy), are to be executed by the Submarine Fleet Captains in case there is no time or possibility to report to the Erotema Navy High Command. Will our submarine find anything apart from old cannons, chests, masts or sealife? DIVERS OK by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr ES 411 belongs to a series of midget submarines, which have inspired the larger classes still on trials, but soon ready for a conflict that the COAC didn´t start. Standing lonely in the sea, a sight forgotten sailors once yearned to see. Seeming destined to be lost forever. Until now... A little teaser for a future build. Not sure when it will be built though, either soon or closer to the end of the year And I will do some more builds leading up to it. The Base style was inspired by the talented Jaaxaap. It was a fun little build to through together and I liked experimenting with the texture. C&C wanted and Hope you enjoy.

This model was originally set 31064, Seaplane Adventures, a 2017 official Lego set from the CREATOR line. I then extended the rear of the body about 8 studs, and lengthened the tail about 2 studs to be a little further away from the body of the aircraft. The MOD uses about 105 more parts to do this, but it gives in return an extended cargo area with removable roof section. This is in addition to the two hatches already on the stock model. Here is the main pic of the plane. The only LDD error I got from building this model was this part that keeps the dark blue engine part from rotating. It works in real life, but in LDD it doesn't go all the way on... go figure! The rear of the original set has a opening rear hatch for cargo loading, which is a feature I kept in my MOD of the set. The other hatch on the set is for accessing the cockpit, while a removable roof panel allows for the cargo area to more open for play-ability. The MOD uses about 105 more parts than are in set 31064 to complete the upgrade. The parts needed are above, and are grouped separately from the actual parts included in set 30164 in the file. This is so you can but the stock set from LEGO and then buy rest of the parts from Brick-Link, Brick-Owl or whatever site you use to buy parts from. Here is the ldd file for the modified plane. Hey all, it's been quite awhile since I was last able to build, but I just couldn't miss the Colossal Castle Contest - especially with a warship category this year. So, Instead of building a handful of rushed entries, I decided instead to pour my heart and soul into a single entry. (Pictures link to Flickr) I decided to revisit an idea I had when I built my first ship a couple years ago. I hadn't managed to make it work then, but I have come a long way as a builder since then. The technique ended up working even better than I had hoped, allowing me to build a sturdy, frustration-free hull with multidirectional curvature and minimal attachment points. This enabled me to make the sides of the hull removable, and to add an interior. The walls you see belowdecks are actually attached to the backside of the ship's frame, meaning that no matter which side is removed, the cabin will always appear as a complete cross-section. In addition, the entire ship is modular, allowing for the removal of the mast and rigging, forecastle, stern decks, hull, and even the main deck, which slides up over the mast. I really wanted to go all-out this year, and, inspired by JKBrickworks' working torsion-spring ballista, I decided to add a functional artillery piece to the deck. This was very challenging, as JKBrickworks' model is over 16 studs wide (much too big for mounting on the ship). Effective torsion springs took up too much space, so I instead lashed together flex tubes and built a scaled-down winding/ratcheting system that is similar to JKBrickworks' original design. It worked, and the ballista you see will wind, hold, and launch multiple projectiles across a desk. Finally, the ship features a working rudder and tiller, all-LEGO rigging (including the rat-lines, which are cut and sewn-together nets), deployable anchors, three projectile types for the ballista (bolt, harpoon, and ball-and-chain), crow's nest mounted crossbow, working doors and hatch, and a full crew including the VIP passengers, captain, navigator, sailors, cook, naval warfare officer, ballista crewmen, marine detachment commander, marine boarder, "Leatherhead" marine sharpshooter, and expeditionary marine. [pid][/pid] Hello! Today I bring you my review of the Lego Movie set; Metalbeard's Sea Cow! Theme: The Lego Movie Set Name: Metalbeard's Sea Cow Set Number: 70810 Pieces: 2741 Year: 2014 Minifigures: 4 Minifigures + Mini Metalbeard and Queasy Kitty (Emmet, Wildstyle, Benny and Vitruvius) Ages: 14+ Price: Expensive ($299 Here in Canada, plus tax) About $250 USD I know this set has had a lot of negative criticism, especially from the true pirates fans, but keep in mind that it is not a pirates theme set, and therefore is not as realistic as one would probably like, but it is, after all, supposed to look unrealistic to give it that Lego Movie look. (The movie has many unrealistic builds but fun none the less!) One point I would like everyone to know, because I find it very cool, is that this is the most heavily armed boat…errrr I mean ship in Lego's History! She has 6 Firing Cannons, plus more than 14 other cannons that do not fire (Made to look like cannons) First we will start with the box, and it is huge! The box is also very heavy, but made of the usual material, so I have already seen some boxes with the seals being broken because of the weight of the ship! The side of the box also features all the mini figures included with their names. The Inner bags are many in number, you get a total of 17 normal bags. You get one #1 bag, two #2 bags, two #3 bags, one #4 bag, two #5 bags, three #6 bags, three #7 bags, two #8 bags, and one #9 bag. Additionally you get a bag with other parts for the ship including the massive fans. You also get the hull pieces, but the ship seems like it would be rather stubby, with only one bottom hull piece. Then you also get a bag with the instruction book (It really is the size of a book!) and the sticker sheet. The instruction book is very heavy, and there is only one! You would expect at least three for a set this size, but Its actually really cool! The only downside is that you cannot team up with a friend and each build from a separate instruction manual…..or novel in this case The sticker sheet has a few cool stickers, and one really cool pirate with a parrot picture! I would love to have more than one of this sticker for some custom building projects! The instructions have a page and a half showing what each bag builds. The instructions have a very eye friendly feel to them, the only problem I have encountered so far is that the Lego Bricks shown are a different shade of colour in the manual than the real ones. It is a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. The first bag contains some mini figures, including Emmet, Wild-style, Kitty and Mini Metalbeard. (I say mini because it is a much smaller version of the one in the movie and the other set that he is included in.) Bag one is my favourite bag so far! The mini Metal-beard is actually very cool. It uses the Legends of Chima ball joints in a very cool way! The emmet minifig is cool, but nothing too special (Movie reference ) Wild-style has a cool rubber hood piece and Kitty looks… not so good. I wish they had included a happy side for her face, but they want you to get every set to collect them all. You also get a sizeable amount of extra pieces just in the first bag! A total of 17! I can't imagine how many will be left after the final build! Now we shall move on the bag number two! The instructions outline the contents of the second bag, and we get the Double Decker Couch! As well as Vitruvius and Benny! We get the entire sets mini figures/Characters in the first two bags. I am surprised lego did not split them up. In this bag we also get two different villain bots (Micro Managers) from The Lego Movie. If you notice, they bear a strange resemblance to the ones in the Matrix Movie! Bag 2 is a bag number that has two bags. The first one large, the second one smaller, each with two mini bags inside. The contents of bag(s) two are awesome! And for those of you wondering if Benny's Helmet is actually broken… Its not. It is a special mold for Benny! Did you really think TLG would go around snapping space helmets!? The Second Bag comes with the Micro Managers and the Double Decker Couch! You also get Benny (Classic 1980's Spaceman!) and Vitruvius. This set comes with a very good mix of mini figures, and you get the very cool Mini Metalbeard! The Double Decker couch is also very cool, but unfortunately you cannot get any figs included in this set to sit properly on the couch. This is because they all have some sort of back accessory. You also get the two micro managers, one mini that shoots a net, and a larger one with flick fire missiles! The net can be shot by stuffing it into the "mouth" of the Micro Manager and pushing the fire flicker on the back. The larger Manager has a unfold-able radar scanner dish, used to detect master builders! It also has some cool flick fire missiles. Another cool feature is that the sides open to reveal some extra flick fire missiles! Lastly for this bag, you also get a good amount of extra pieces! Now we will move on to the ship! The ship build starts with the #3 bags, the hull pieces and the extra bag of ship parts. The bags from #3 are packed with goodies, and the Cannons! You get a total of 6 shooting cannons!!! As I mentioned before, this is the most heavily armed ship in Lego history! As you can see its a very exciting bag! It contains the ships main armament and the foundation for everything above! The bags are getting more and more focused on one particular item, now that the figs and accessories are out of the way. The next few bags contain different parts of the ships that attach to form the final product. I really like the way that everything comes together. Lets get on to bag #4! There is only one bag with the number four title, but it is packed with all you need to start building the walls of the ship and starting the long path to the sky! As you can see, the ship is looking good so far, the sides look very nice, and have more than enough armament to take on those Micro Managers! Next we will get to bag #5! Bag number five refines the current look of the ship by adding to the front and rear, and patching up any holes in the ship. As you can see, the ship is starting to look like a real ship! The sides are now very sturdy and have been completely locked up. Now it is time for bag number 6. You will notice that the number 6 bags really start to add to the fun by containing the store room and boiler controls! In these bags you get some very fun and cool looking water faucets that add to the rustic boiler look! The interior of the Boiler/Storage room contain some muskets, swords and some flintlock pistols. It also features the controls for the boiler. The sides also open up for a look inside, and also for limited playability. You also get a nice tiny chandelier than swings with the ships movements. It can be seen through the entrance to the room. The set also makes use of a few bizarre pieces such as the Indiana Jones whips, some Legends of Chima pieces and some Lego Friends pieces such as the golden faucets. So far we have gotten a lot of cool stuff, but we still have many more bags to go! This is everything so far… Ok, lets get onto the other bags! We are now on Bag number 7! Well…. three bags actually! You get some very unique parts, some technic sails and a good old fashioned door! You also get a Pirates of the Caribbean globe piece, also used as Sandy's Helmet in Spongebob Lego sets. (Clear Version) Some other cool accessories include a Golden Mini-figure Head, and some keys. How long has it been since you opened a set with some Flintlock Pistols! I really like the building techniques that have been used so far. I love the way the ships siding is placed on. Every sideboard is unique, and has a different Pirate feel to it! One of the coolest building sidings I have seen so far is found in Bag(s) number seven! This siding is a prime example! As you can see, the side board is missing, once it is built, it is nicely placed into it to fit very snug. Now both combined give a good look to the ships siding! The Final Bag 7 Build makes the ship look nearly complete. It gives the ship the appropriate height, and refines the rear of the ship. This bag also has some very interesting pieces for those of you you considering this as a parts pack. The Rear of the ship after bag number 7! It is very tall! Metal Beards Throne is large enough to fit him nicely standing or sitting. However, any other mini figure in the set looks ridiculous. Now onto Bag 8! Bag 8 builds the front of the ship, the foreword mast with the figurehead. While building, I could not resist laughing when I got to this build I don't know how you can't laugh at it! What was TLG thinking?! We are now on the last bag! Bag number 9! Bag number 8 was funny and contained a lot of useful pieces, such as the cow… and the "boiler" (More like… ) This bag builds the final middle top section for the ship. But I just noticed now that it also looks just as questionable as the "boiler"... I was surprised at the amount of detail included under the top middle section. The floor boards are filled with coins, treasure, a scull and even a rat! We are now done! The ship is done! It is funny build! Here are all the extra pieces included in the set! Here she is; METAL-BEARD'S SEA COW! Here is the Sea Cow beside two smaller Lego Ships! And as requested, here is the Sea Cow beside the Black Seas Barracuda! As you can see, the Sea Cow holds up, even surpasses some of the biggest pirate ships! Overall I give this set a great Rating! I love the details included through the set, and how they managed to do a great job using technic sails! The only downside is that the playability factor aboard the ship is lower because of the lack of space on the deck. But if you can't have fun with this set in hand, I don't believe you. It is a very cool set that I think compliments the Pirates theme! I would defiantly recommend it and I hope my review has brought some light onto this set, and all her might! DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK FOR MORE PHOTOS OR QUESTIONS ;)

The wind rustled the leaves above. Soon the sun would dip below the horizon, draping it all in gloomy shadows. But for now everything was beautiful. Averil sat down under the looming tree, took a deep breath and stared into the sunset. Just being here made her smile. She found herself imagining that this here, was all there was. Just the fading sun and breaking waves. The towering tree at her back and the delicate flowers spread out around her. This was a moment she wished would not pass. But it would. And she would have to return home. Return to a home that was not home. Return to Newquay. Averil had joined the colony of Newquay together with her brother, Leeson, and Gammy less than a month ago. It had been a reluctant but necessary decision. Averil's poaching had not been fruitful and the family was starving. At Newquay, at least they were able to fill their bellies. Leeson had been made an errand boy, and was always running all over the place doing his chores. Averil could tell that he liked it. Back home all he ever did was scrounging for food and waiting for her to return with fresh game. Here he had something to do and he was happier for it. Even Gammy had been enlisted to help in the manor's kitchen, cooking for the lord and lady and their friends. Averil frowned upon her entering service, but she too seemed happy. And Averil couldn't deny that the occasional tidbits Gammy swiped from the kitchen wasn't a welcome change to the bland stew they were usually having. Averil herself had been assigned as a fisherman at first, but as she didn't know the first thing about fishing, she was quick to display her skills with the bow, which had earned her a spot on a hunting party. There had been some suspicion as to where her mastery stemmed from, but Averil had explained that her late father, a longbowman in the King's army, had taught her since young. It was a truth with modification, but confessing to years of poaching would certainly have earned her a trip to the gallows. Her fellow hunters were good men and quick to welcome to her, showing her the tricks of the trade. She already knew most of what they showed her, but she feigned ignorance to support her own deception. Learning archery from her father was all well and good, but what reason could her father have had for teaching her hunting? Better to smile and pretend to be learning. Still, being self-taught, there were a few new things that she did not know. Understanding the territorial instincts of many of the animals here had been an eye-opener for her. And the woods around Newquay was new ground for her, as her poaching had kept her at a good distance from the colony. Most of all she had been very surprised to find that there was actually game to be found around here. The weeks before joining the colony she had found nothing during her trips to the isle, and now there was game again. Not plenty, but there was some, which was enough. It made her wish she had held off the decision to move here. If game was coming back, they could've survived by themselves. If only she had waited a few more weeks, she wouldn't have to be here. The truth was that she did not belong here. These people were good, faithful workers, building something together. All of them doing their best to make the colony successful. Even with their witless lord governing them, there was a camaraderie here that she had not expected. But still, she was different. She craved adventure, not fellowship. She did not want to have everything staked out for her. She abhorred routine and despised rules. They may make your life smoother, but they didn't let you live. And that's what Averil wanted - to live. But what good did it do to linger on that now? They were here, and even if Leeson and Gammy would have wanted to leave, they couldn't. They had committed themselves to Newquay and its doltish lord, who would certainly not let them go unless he wanted to. They were trapped. She was trapped. She longed to be back home, her real home on the mainland, but she was trapped. She looked up at the tree above her. It's branches stretched far out over the sea. Perhaps it too, longed for something? - 'I wish we could both go' she told the tree. 'But we can't. Like it or not, we are both rooted to this place.' She sighed. The last sliver of sun disappeared beyond the horizon. It was time to head back. - 'Well, back to reality' Averil said as she got up. 'Be good.' That's my first 2016 MOC. As you can see in the 1st picture, one unlucky night a redcoats' frigate was sailing the seas. The watchman in the crow's nest saw a small boat with a couple of pirates and a strange creature. It was a golum. (picture #2). The crew took the strangers on board the ship. But alas!.... In the morning - all the crew members became skeletons (pictures 3, 4, 5). And the captain became the most scary 4- armed skeleton! Even the ship became a see monster with a dragon's head and tail at the back. Why, to your mind, all that happened? Hope you like my story and creation. I'm eager to know your opinion of my Sea Man's Story and my LEGO Ideas projects, too. C&C are welcome. I think my LEGO comics are ilustrated with the most awesome LEGO creations I could find.

Hello everyone, I was Inspired by a couple of sets I had when I was a child - Breezeway Cafe - 6376 and Sand Dollar Cafe - 6411. The colour combinations used were cheerful and I always wished I had bricks using the colours of the Sand dollar baseplate in particular! Thanks to the 'friends' theme for bringing more choice of bricks in lighter colours I can create something I've had in mind for sometime now. The main part I wanted to use was the large curved window pieces which I purchased a while back. The ground floor houses a bicycle and surf board rental shop and the Paradisa cafe bar area, the upstairs lifts off in one piece and has more seating for a great sea view! No parrots included, although I have added the much loved seagull, a splash of pink and the usual palm-tree. I would have loved to have done a fully rendered background in the style of Paradisa but don't have the know how so I've simply used a couple of the typical colours. Here's what you look like when you try to be like Santiago, but are not really up to it ;) That was my first real test with those 1x1 round tiles from PaB walls. Good for placing behind some solid glass, not so much for anything else (don't try to sneeze nearby...). This is not pirates per se, but it's about sail ships so i thought it fits here best. If mods think it should be moved to other section of the site, please do so. But we can pretend one of the ships is actually pirate ship ;) General look: It all started on Pyrkon convention Poznań/Poland in 2014. We got some free bricks and among them there were horse hats (sorry, don't know the proper English word) for old horses that were replaced with new design. Someone said the piece is really useless for anything than putting in on a horse. Someone else joined in and said that the piece is as useless as speedor'z bodies from Chima. O'rly? I wouldn't be myself if i didn't accept the challenge and prove them both wrong. So the Sea Horse steam boat was born: Once i had it i had to build some other sailboats. Come on, let's sleep some... Aisha, it's your turn to watch out for coming lights" And so the Ulandian Navy Soldiers in the Ghuba-ya Biashara closed their eyes and started sleeping... A few hours later: "I saw something in the water!! The ship is moving!!" Aisha yelled, "Shut up Aisha, it's a shark swimming around the ship. Even in the moonlight you can see it is a shark. And beside, we are anchored" Aisha was right, there was a shark in the water. But also a whole bunch of Mermaids who removed the anchors of the Patrolling Vessels so they could move them to another territory. If you were a pirate stranded on a tiny island with a large, scary shark circling around, and could only have 3 objects with you, what would they be? There are only two correct answers to this question. You would either want a bottle of rum, another bottle of rum, and yet another bottle of rum... or you would want a gun, a bigger gun, and an even bigger gun. (Any combination of these two scenarios will only lead to dangerous pirate behavior and the risk of self-inflicted harm.) Lego set number 1492, "Battle Cove" gives us that three-gun island. Our lonely pirate may be down, but he is most certainly not out - not without a fight, anyway. Unfortunately, I do not have the original packaging, but I do have a complete copy otherwise. This is a set I received as a child. As such, I must cite the informative links I have placed above as historical records of this set. Apparently, this set was sold only in the USA, and according to some inventories, this set may have only been sold at certain stores or was perhaps part of some kind of promotion aimed at consumers. At any rate, it would seem that this is one of the rarer sets in the pirate theme. The Unboxing Unbagging A fresh copy of 1492 (image courtesy of BrickLink) Imagine receiving the polybag shown above. What would you do? Why, rip it right open and dump out the contents, of course! Instructions (front) The front of the instructions shows the same image as the bag packaging depicts. We see the entire set, complete with minfig and shark against a nice background and surface. As a hobbyist photographer, I really appreciate these old box/instructions photos. The good people at Lego put a refreshing emphasis on their product art. This set being from 1992, Lego has not yet turned to computer rendered artwork, and someone has put together a nice backdrop and foreground to show off this set. Bravo. Instructions (back / random segment) This image of the instructions back side is for completion. The type of instructions with this polybag set is more of a folded leaflet that has two sides' worth of instruction panels. So the "back side" in this case is really just one of the instruction panes (the first one showing how to put a shark together... and a pirate.) Set contents (sans instructions) Here we have all the pieces in this set laid out. According to set inventories, there are 26 pieces. However, I count 27! I believe the online inventories are counting the shark body and head as one piece, however the instructions show how to connect the head to the body, suggesting that the shark probably came unassembled. But enough of the geeky piece count nitpicking. Instead, let's nitpick the parts we have here! We have a decent assortment of colors here. We have 4 printed pieces. We also have 3 guns (one being a cannon, actually). (There is no rum, however. Rum bottles would not be included in pirate sets until the Pirates of the Caribbean line.) A palm frond is always a welcome addition to any collection. A smattering of light gray elements and two 6 x 6 yellow plates finish up this set's parts. These are nice to have. Printed corner wall element One piece that sticks out in particular is the printed corner wall element. According to online inventories, this element is only in 7 sets produced between 1988 and 1995. And of those 7 sets, this set is the smallest (the other six are all above 160 pieces and mostly castle-themed sets). That might make this set a viable way to acquire this piece, if not for the fact that this set was a USA exclusive. United States issue non-firing Lego cannon One interesting aspect of Lego sets released in the USA is that the cannons do not fire. I had no idea this was abnormal from the rest of the world until I was out of my dark ages. I'm not an expert on this minutae, but I've heard it explained that it was a safety concern. I believe that some copies of pirate sets in 1989 sold in the USA _did_ in fact have the pull-firing cannons at first, until the design was tweaked to have the non-firing type. The interesting thing is that the newer line of pirate sets from 2009 had firing cannons, including copies sold in the USA. The dark gray shark Here we have the set's dark gray shark. Let's be honest here: the shark is the crowning jewel of this set. I think we can all agree on that. (Be sure to cast your vote in the poll at the top of this thread!) The Minifigure The pirate (front, back) It seems that this minfig torso always accompanies this particular head, and it appears in 5 different minifigure permutations across 21 sets (all of them "classic" 80s/90s pirate sets). But in each canonical minifigure, the pants are either white, gray, or black, and the fig also always sports a tricorner hat (albeit black or brown). If not for having black pants instead of light gray, we might have been able to classify this pirate as Rummy, the first mate of the Renegade Runner. (For more pirate naming fun, see this thread). Could this pirate in fact be Rummy with different pants? I'm undecided; share your opinion on this matter by replying to this thread! Regardless, we have here a minfig whose head and torso printing are some of the more detailed in the line. I personally think the face print is one of my all-time favorites. You have an eye patch, scruffy hair, stubble, and a pleasing smile. This is part of what makes classic pirates so memorable. Everyone is happy in classic Legoland, and why not? The torso on this pirate is also one of the more detailed in the line, with a jacket exposing an undershirt and a thick, piratey belt. It's also worth noting that this torso can perhaps be put to good use as a bluecoat officer or perhaps some kind of privateer. Let's get building. The Build With so few parts in this polybag set, the build is relatively straightforward. The instructions are nice and simple, without any of the modern-day part callouts. Build foundation After a step or two, we have the beginnings of a wall and our cannon placed down. And after just a few more steps, we have our completed structure. (That was quick!) Island and structure (front) From the front, we have a bit of a fortification wall, our proud Jolly Roger pirate flag flying, and a palm frond to protect our heroic pirate from harmful UVA and UVB rays during his stay. Island and structure (rear) From the rear, we can see that the pirate has a place to hang his rifle. We also note that there are hiding places for pirate loot and cannon balls. It's a shame there aren't any in this set. How is our pirate to make use of the cannon without any ammunition? The complete build Here we have the set all together, including the pirate and the shark. Despite its size, it is an aesthetically pleasing set! For sets of this size, our imagination is really what drives the story here. Who is this pirate? And what of the island itself? Is it an abandoned fort, perhaps? There's enough playablity here to have a fair bit of fun on its own. With a chomping shark, a yawing cannon, and an armed pirate, we have all the trappings of a good pirate adventure. Still, there is room for improvement. A lack of a cannonball or two is a definite oversight, even if the cannon does not actually fire. And the addition of a monkey or some gold would really have made this set fantastic. It's a good "parts pack" at the very least, and a good addition to any pirate collection. There's enough to have a bit of fun with. If price data were available, I believe we would find a respectable price-to-parts ratio. It is also very easy to take elements from this set and add to other pirate sets. The minfigure and shark are easily added to a larger ship, as are the cannon, firearms, and flag. At the end of the day, this is a solid polybag set that captures the freespirited nature of classic pirate sets. I give this set two rusty hooks straight up! Scoring Playability: 6/10 (Minifig and shark fun, but your imagination will do some heavy lifting here.) Design: 7/10 (A reasonably attractive structure given the part count. But an extra palm frond or a monkey would be nice.) Parts: 9/10 (Some useful, detailed parts here. Multiple printed pieces. Good for crew building and armaments.) Minfigs: 7/10 (Relatively common minifig parts. But a classic and one of the more complex face and torso printings in the line.) Sharks: 9/10 (You can't go wrong with a dark gray shark. Point off for lack of additional sharks.) Price: N/A (Pricing is lost to the sands of time. Likely comparable to other polybags of its time.) Availability: 2/10 (Only available in USA! May have been an "exclusive" set only at a certain store.) Final Score: 7/10 (A solid pirate polybag. A good mix of parts, and a welcome addition to any pirate universe.) Uh oh. Looks like our hero is in trouble!... Whew! That was close! Our hero lives to fight another day.

First up, Kaneta-Bur. The Kaneta-Bur is a reef-dwelling, blind testudine that is largely harmless unless poked in its sensitive feelers. A reef-dwelling, long-necked pleiseohominid, this creature is commonly referred to as a sea monkey. A sedge slides across the ground on millions of microscopic hind legs, and steers and balances itself with its two large clawed hands. Desert sedges are peaceful creatures. The Cara-Ni, or Reef Deacon, is a species of violent rahi living in the reefs off the coasts of Po-Koro. No two are alike in coloration, though they are all very vibrant due to the protodermis "blood" of the Mata Nui seeping out into the reefs. The final Version of the tower on the inland sea which I have been working on, the latest addition to it is the battlements (thank you Gabe for the suggestion), and the reduction of the roof due to the increased size of the battlements. This is also the first moc I have made that has a (short) story to go along with it. Archaeologist Professor Durnovian is searching for the legendary remains of one of the first settlers on the inland sea, the settlers lord Vanderfel from long before the 4 guilds where established. Vanderfels resting place and most importantly the island lords legendary great sword, the location of the sword was lost when the islands were overun by Orcs and most of the islands records were lost. Little did he know that the legendary lord lay only a few studs away under one of the many towers built to give warning of the numerous attacks by the pirates that plagued that part of Historica.

One of the first fortifications to be built on the inland sea. I rebuilt my fort adding in the tan 1x2 bricks to brake up the wall a bit thus avoiding big gray wall syndrome. I also wanted to try out this roof design.
