    MOC - Christmas Village

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time. From my part it was one of the great ones. When my wife came to me by the end of November with the city advent calendar (60099) as a pre holydays surprise gift I was very happy and saw in it the opportunity to involve my 3 years daughter to her first Lego experience (small Lego of course). So we did every day's build together and by the end I was impressed how good she became at building. she did understand the vocabulary and building steps. In the end it was a very fun experience for both of us. What she did not know is that in the meantime she was doing all her daily builds I was building a winter village in which she would play the 24 December. I've put a lot of details and some fun to play features. She liked it and we had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the village. Thanks everyone! 3. Christmas is coming! This is perfect time for my Lego X-mas creation. I present the Santa’s Workshop... umm, I mean Santa Emperor Palpatine's Workshop. You have no idea who is he? Go away and come back when you gain some knowledge. Naaa, just kidding. I hope you know this gentleman. Alright, let's cut to the chase. Enjoy the pictures! Read more Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - Santa Palpatine's Workshop Follow my new MOCs and articles at: Facebook | Flickr | Google+ --- Notice: This is a shortened version of the post from LEGO Blog - Bricks' Treasure. ------------------- UPDATED: I managed to finish Santa Palpatine Workshop's basement from the last post. I love Star Wars, but I wasn't really into LEGO SW. I think it is changing now. I really enjoyed building Imperial part of this MOC. And I am starting to feel disturbing need of getting more classic Star Wars trilogy minifigs. Read more Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - Santa Palpatine's Workshop Upgrade

    Winter Village: Santa's Section

Welcome to Santa's Village! Step right up and get your photo taken with the big man himself, then continue shopping at the many stalls in the Winter Market. This is my entry to the Expand the Winter Village Market contest. One 8x16 module with one-stud overhang plus two 8x8 modules. Here's Santa's seat and the lineup. I built the tree how I figured TLG would, and the globe's for showing children all the places Santa visits. For only $100 you can buy a print of you with Santa from one of his elves. There are a lot of bad isms, but commercialism's one of the worst... One last shot of everything. Merry Christmas!
  6. For the past nine years the Hudson’s Bay Company flagship store in Toronto has displayed a beloved series of windows that depict Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves getting ready for Christmas, and other Christmas scenes. My winter village entry is a rendition of two of the five HBC windows. The first scene has elves feeding the reindeer and preparing Santa’s sleigh outside of the Toy Shoppe at the North Pole. The second scene is inside the building where the elves are busy making the toys as Santa goes over his list from the many letters he has received from children everywhere. I have tried to include most of the elements but have altered some of the design. The clock is the central feature of the piece and the elves are busily at work, while Mrs. Claus is helping out by bringing treats. Santa is checking his “Naughty” and “Nice” list after reading the letters sent to him by children around the world. Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe3 by Karen Metz, on Flickr HBC poems that are in front of their windows (I have included one with the display): "With Christmas approaching young children are hoping that their presents will reach them according to plan, all wonderfully donated by a wonderful man. So Santa’s little helpers make sure is all right so that nothing will go wrong on that faithful night. They work with much diligence and a great deal of pride thus ensuring that Santa will have a smooth ride." Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr “The clock is ticking and the hours are dwindling The toyshop is bustling as the elves are preparing The list is revised and a plan is devised There’s no time to pause for old Santa Claus” Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe5 by Karen Metz, on Flickr Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe4 by Karen Metz, on Flickr Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe8 by Karen Metz, on Flickr If you check out my Flickr page I have photos of the actual HBC Christmas windows. I have also created a second story that can be added to my MOC that depicts the last of the five HBC windows with the elves and Santa relaxing to a fabulous meal after all the the presents have been delivered around the world. I have posted pictures of this floor/window as well on Flickr if anyone wants to check it out. It is not quite finished (need to change some parts). I haven’t included this level for the contest since I would have greatly exceeded the size limit. Happy Christmas to all! P.S. The Hudson’s Bay Company is the oldest company in North America (founded in 1670) and is known for its iconic white wool point blankets with green, yellow, red and blue stripes.

    Christmas Train

Hi everyone Christmas Train22 by Cristiano Grassi, su Flickr This is my version of the Christmas Train and i think it will be perfect in any Winter Village projects and dioramas. It is based on the Constitution train set locomotive. When I project this train I think about Holydays and to what I wanted to find under my Christmas tree when I was a child. I hope you like and comment it. If you want you can also support this project on Lego Ideas following the Link. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/95546 Thanks to all.
  10. I need to take some better shots, but this is my latest version for 2014. I am now up to 8 boards, but for 2015 I am planning to start straight away and make some MOC's like a Church or bar and also I want some bigger trees. The plan is also to make it more modular so I can break it and build it more easily.

Winter Village: Ginger Bread Man House

Here is my model for the Expand the Winter Village Contest. Enjoy. Winter Village Gingerbread House at the North Pole by macsforless, on Flickr
  12. It's that time of year again! The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we're already excited about the latest additions to the Winter Village from TLG: Santa's Workshop and the Winter Village Market. It's now becoming a tradition here in Town that we love to see people's own creations to add to the Winter Village, and this year is no different. Things have changed slightly, but the core of the contest is here - we'd love YOU to build us an addition the the World of Santa's North Pole Village or create buildings for other holiday characters. Does that sound limiting? Fear not! Even Santa's Village needs train stations and houses and bakeries and all the other things a non-Santa Christmas village would need so be as creative as you want. Frosty and Rudolph and other holiday characters could use their own houses and workplaces too, I think so there's a chance to be really clever if you want as well! So come on Eurobricks, what are you waiting for? Let's have some wintery fun, and show us what your Holiday Character Winter Village inspired creation is! The Rules Entries must be posted by midnight UTC, December 31st, 2014. One entry per member. Entries must be similar in size to an official release LEGO Winter Village set. Entries should be either Town-themed or Friends-themed and may include either (or both) Minifigs and Minidolls. Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously) and be similar in style to the previous official TLG releases. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in their own entry topic in the Town forum. The title of the topic should begin with "Winter Village: " and then give the name of the entry. The entry post (first post in your entry topic) may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. Entries are to consist of no more than 5 posted pictures of 1024x768 pixels or smaller resolution but may also include a link to a folder of additional images of any size. Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and color correction but may not include graphic enhancements. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. The Prizes First Prize: EITHER 10245 Santa's Workshop OR 10235 Winter Village Market Second Prize: whichever set is not chosen for First Prize, of the two sets above. 14. Here are some custom figures that I made for a LEGO Ideas project: Old Bilbo is shown here in the outfit he wore at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring. He's a pretty important character in the trilogy, and I'm surprised that LEGO hasn't made him yet. Old Bilbo by lancethecat, on Flickr Gandalf is decked out in full Santa garb, with a red cloak to match. Santa Gandalf by lancethecat, on Flickr If you like these figures and want to see them in a future set, there's a link to my project below.
  15. Here is something I built for the MCP Program, using exclusively parts from set 31313: This is Santa Claus' sleigh, pulled by his faithful reindeer Rudolph! Rudolph pulls the sleigh by using the same leg mechanism I came up with for : a simplified version of the Klann linkage. Besides the large motor for walking, there's another one for (very roughly) adjust the angle between Rudolph and the sleigh to allow for curves, and a medium one for making Santa wave his arm.Of course, Rudolph has to have a red nose! The colour sensor, set for reflection mode, gives the nice redness. Like with , I made a point of using the infrared sensor "upside down" for Santa's eyes, to avoid the "aggressive" look given by the lines printed on the sensor. I tried to have the EV3 prominently displayed, with its side ports for USB and SD unobstructed, and reserved space for the rechargeable battery.I really like how the robot turned out to look: it was fun trying to make the most of the 31313's relatively limited assortment of parts (for example, some dampers for Rudolph's hooves would be most welcome). On the other hand, I really wasn't able to make it work well: with an EV3 loaded with batteries, a large motor, a medium motor, and assorted parts, the sleigh got really heavy for Rudolph to pull, even with wheels underneath. Also, the steering is just too abrupt for direct remote control, and I couldn't find a way to gear it down while using the available parts and still look cool. Here is the video of it in motion. And here are some more pictures. If you want to see any detail or other angles, just ask. I hope you like it!
  16. Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, and Happy Holidays from Kooberz Studios! I'd like to share my latest animation with all of you on this fine Dec. 25th. Introducing the LEGO Yule Log. I recommend throwing this up on the big screen for your families to enjoy while they're eating, but that's just me. ;)
  17. Hello from sunny Singapore! With a few days more to Christmas Day, I'd like to share some festive creations with you. All aboard! Have a chuggin’ Christmas with this little locomotive. The Choo Choo Mini comprises 50 parts and is a great example of what you can achieve when you build in different directions. Little Rudolph says hi to an 8-bit reindeer from the eighties. 18. Please see my Hot Sausage Shop for the 'Expand the Winter Village' Contest. This MOC has been playtested by a 10 year old girl, who absolutely loves all the features! (and keeps eyeing off the prizes too!!) Winter Village Expansion - Hot Sausage Shop with Xmas Hamper Delivery Van, Roast Chestnut Seller & Snowball Fighters by mjfirefly, on Flickr The sausage shop is a two storey affair, complete with attached pig sty, just right for making fresh sausages... There is a total of 8 minifigures, including Sausage Sellers (2), Children throwing snowballs (2), Roast Chestnut Seller, Delivery Man, Business Man and Santa. The Sausage Shop roof can be lifted (using the Xmas Tree decoration) for play access. We use a proper log fire to cook our sausages by mjfirefly, on Flickr The interior of the Sausage Shop, a light brick provides the 'log fire' look. Xmas Hamper Delivery by mjfirefly, on Flickr Xmas Hamper Delivery, the hamper includes two bottles of Christmas drink, a carrot, parsnip, and cherries. The trolley can be placed inside the delivery van for ease of transportation, as of course can the hamper. Roast Chestnut Seller by mjfirefly, on Flickr Roast Chestnut Seller, the cart can be pushed along by the seller. Snowball Fight by mjfirefly, on Flickr Children throwing snowballs under a holiday decorated lamppost, this piece can be slotted onto the corner of the Sausage Shop so as it appears as if the children are peeping around the corner of the building to throw snowballs. More pictures of this MOC, showing the lifting roof, upstairs fireplace and other details can be found on the Flickr set by clicking any of the pictures.

    Santa's Workshop MOC

I've tried putting this up on Cuusoo but they've rejected it during 2 stages of completion, but that's OK, here's my Santa's Workshop which is part of a larger Diorama. I'm happy to give anyone the link to the draft page (if that'll work) if you're willing to tell me what I'm doing wrong haha So... what you AFOLs think?
