Hi! Im starting work on an Edoras MOC and am trying to build up an accurate Rohan army which is cheaper to buy than the official figs. Does anyone know of some good torsos/legs/heads/hair to use for this?

Golden, too, are the posts of its doors.» I am proud to present the 9th installment in the Third Age: Journey Through Middle-Earth collab, The Golden Hall of Meduseld, located in Edoras, the capital of Rohan. This is my favourite location in Middle-Earth and to build it was an amazing experience. I started the planning back in May, and I've been continously building ever since then, and finished it just a few days before releasing it September 8th. The model is 140 cm long, 85 cm wide and 45 cm tall. I am super proud of this, and it turned out just about how I imagined it. I hope you all like it, and I would love to hear your feedback! --- Be sure to check out all the parts in the collab so far, you can find them in this Flickr group, Third Age collab. This will be one of the prizes for this years Middle Earth LEGO Olympics. I have always liked the look of Edoras, so it was quite fun to try to capture the look of the city in microscale. Edoras is the capital city of Rohan, and houses the Golden Hall, Meduseld. Plenty more pictures on my website. Thanks for looking

LEGO Helm's Deep Project. Work in progress... I'm currently 10,000+ pieces in, with another 5,000-10,000 to go. I have approximately 500 more figures (400 Uruk-Hai and 100 Rohan) to add to the diorama upon its completion. I'm quickly realizing that I'll need to purchase another table if I plan to display this all in one piece ;) I wanted to update people on my progress thus far, I hope that you enjoy it! "After the fall of Sauron, Éomer, son of Éomund, returns to Rohan to be crowned king, following in the footsteps of Théoden, son of Thengel, who was slain during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Upon his return to Edoras, King Éomer decides the time has come to wipe out the remaining Dunlendings, former servants of evil who were sent by Saruman to aid him in the destruction of Rohan, who have now taken refuge throughout Dunland from whence they came, spread out over many different settlements and some fortresses. One of these fortresses can be found on the border of Rohirric lands to Dunland, one that was taken from Rohan by the Dunlendings during the War of the Ring. As a first step to conquering Dunland and slaying the remaining hostile Dunlendings, King Éomer sends a group of his men to surround the fortress, attacking the Dunlendings from every possible side. One of these sides is the western rivergate, to which a group of Rohirrim footsoldiers has been sent to begin the attack..." ________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is my entry for MEC, category B, depicting an event from the 4th age of Middle-Earth. Help Theoden, Eowyn, and Háma gather supplies from a barn and flee to Helm's Deep. The warg rider is waiting to ambush them. Gather suplies from a barn in the Westfold. Gather a barrel of apples, carrots, and some blankets for the refuges. Fight from horse back or use the horse to haul supplies. Theoden, Eowyn, and Háma can even fight in the barn. Time to head to Helm's Deep*. * Helm's Deep sold separately.

I built this almost a year ago, I think in July. The pictures have been sitting on my camera since then. This scene is one of my favorites from the movies, I really like how it looks. At the time, this was the extent of my LotR minifigure collection, hence why I built it. Flickr Set Facebook

After getting several Uruk-hai Army sets I have started to notice my Rohan soldiers really starting to look way to similar and redundant. I tried using Eomer without his cape as a basic grunt and switching his helm/head/torso/legs with the Rohan archer, but this only allows for so many combinations and still they all have either the orange or light brown facial hair. Unlike with the Uruk-hai there just aren't that many possible combinations for Rohan soldiers atm unless you look outside the LotR line. Luckily they are a somewhat rag tag band so you can easily switch some pieces out and get a really distinct looking army that still feels very Rohan-esque. With that said, I am now turning to Bricklink to further customize my Rohan army. My question is what helms/heads/torsos/legs have people found to work really well as basic Rohan grunts? I would obviously prefer flesh color heads as those are what the rest of the LotR line is done in. I would also prefer the newer, really highly detailed pieces to better mesh with my exisiting LotR minifigures (no Harry Potter heads from 8 years ago please!). So, what can you guys come up with? I would prefer not to have to do any modding such as painting or cutting/modling. Even so, here are some great custom figures from General Magma to give you a general idea of what I am going for!
