  1. The Darker Side of Life Map Name: Studica Grid: H3 Throughout northern Briolui, scattered oil derricks and pump stations litter the arid lands providing the country with the fuel it needs to carry on. Jack: What do you make of all this? Chris: What, you mean us being here? Jack: Yeah, what do you think of our assignment. Chris: Well I'm bored sir. I'd prefer to be headed off to the front if I'm being honest. Jack: I got news for you kid, you're on the front lines. Any day now tanks might come rolling across the plains over there, or planes might come over the mountains. Keep your head on a swivel. Chris: Is this a delivery coming in? Jack: Yeah. He's here all the time hauling huge crates with his tiny tractor. Jack: Good Evening Abjan. Abjan: Good Evening my friends. Jack: A little late for a shipment tonight, no? Abjan: I don't ask these questions. With a war coming it, only makes sense that oil production will increase. They call me to drive you barrels, so I drive them. Jack: Okay, bring em in. Chris: *Whispering* You're not gonna check the truck first? Jack: No, we checked his truck for months. All it did was slow down production and waste our time. Besides, old Abjan is nothing to worry about. He's a relic of an old tribe who used to live up here in the North. For a long time they had a lot of influence in the area until they got cozy with some rebels. His family was killed years ago in a raid by our forces into his village looking for rebels. They were caught in the crossfire. I feel bad for him really. His business was ruined, he used to have one of the largest farms in the village. The old man barely scrapes by and lives alone to himself. Abjan: Hello George. George: Abjan. What are you doing here so late. Abjan: I don't ask these questions. They send me to deliver barrels, so I deliver them. George: I understand but, we just got them this morning. We don't even have anywhere to put them. George: I'm gonna go call this in and see why they sent you. Abjan: Do not make me use this George. I don't want to, but I will. If you stay out of our way, you won't get hurt. George: "Our" way? Abjan: We are here to take back what is ours. Abjan: For too long our people have stood by having our lands taken out from under us and our families killed by your government. We have laid down for too long and now with the support of your enemies, we finally have an opportunity to stand. Abjan: My men are redirecting your pump station to send the oil down the old pipeline which runs under our village. I have trucks coming to lock this station down. George: Just kill me now. Don't draw this out. Abjan: George, my friend. We are not going to kill you. You are one of the few with a brain, like Jack. You show respect to our people and know that your just our guests. No you are being spared to send a message to your government that we are through being walked on. They are going to be so tied down in their war, they won't have time to fight us too. MEANWHILE Jack: Something is wrong here. Chris: Huh? Jack: He's never here this long. I'm going to see why George isn't answering his radio. Abjan: GO! GO! Don't let them over here. Stop them! Jack: What the......
  2. [GBW] - Supporting the war effort- EROTEMA – Give your blood for your country Doctor Smith, whom we met in the first Side Mission, is in his desk room again. As responsible of one of the many Public Health Centers in EROTEMA, he realizes that his blood reserves are low. And there is a possible war soon… So, immediately, the National Channel, in the Night News Report, decides to spread the need of blood and the blood donation campaign reaches everybody. The next morning he has a meeting with two friends, the scientist we also met in the first Side Mission. They speak about using mother cells to have more blood available, not only for Erotema, but also for other allies and countries under the occupation of the RON. And many come to donate blood. As you probably know, the requirements to donate blood are age and good health. However, sometimes people over age goes because their feel to help the country are beyond their physical condition. Here you can see the blood donation room and a few more donors. Enjoy!
  3. Side Build 2 - Troop Build Up Map Name: Studica Grid H2 A crack team of Commandos operating along the North Eastern Border between of Filace and Briolui has setup and FOB in the jungle for future troop reinforcements. With the help of the locals, the team established the small basics for a base, but much work still needs to be done. The area is remote and would make no sense for either side to commit a lot of forces to as the jungle is so dense, they would have casualties just moving through it. The commando team is about to be relieved by team of regular army troops coming. Hawkins: ...... so that was the first time my girlfriend eve.. Blaine: I DON'T WANNA HEAR YOUR BS GIRLFRIEND JOKES ANYMORE HAWKINS! Hawkins: Not all of us are sexual tyranosaurs like you Blaine. Blaine: Mac and Billy should be coming back soon. Entering just outside the FOB Perimeter.... Mac: That was some weird brick Billy, get us out of here. Billy: We're almost there Mac. Billy: Major, you'd better take a look at this. Dutch: What the brick is that.... Billy: We found this girl out on our patrol. She was frozen still in a pool of someone else's blood. She said the jungle came alive and took her friend. We pulled her out and on our way back we found her friend, or what was left of him. Dutch: You've got to be kidding. Anna: IT'S NOT A JOKE! When I was little, we found a man. He looked like - like, butchered. The old woman in the village crossed themselves... and whispered crazy things, strange things. "El Diablo cazador de hombres." Only in the hottest years this happens. And this year, it grows hot. We begin finding our men. We found them sometimes without their skins... and sometimes much, much worse. "El cazador trofeo de los hombres" means the demon who makes trophies of men. Dutch: I'll call it in. The army can investigate this.... "Predator" when they get here. We are not sticking around here when the choppa arrives. Mac: This is some bad bush man. We need to bail outta here. Forget Briolui, the Jungle'l' kill you here. Dutch: Base, this is Dutch. How long until choppa arrival. On The Radio General: We're coming in on your position now. General: Team's lookin good Dutch. Dutch: It's been a long time General. Gonna have your hands full with this jungle creature. Who knows, might be a Brioului Super Weapon. General: Captain. Start moving the men into the base to relieve Dutch's team. Beeze: You heard the General. Let's go guys. Dutch: (To the General) What is this, you have a whole crew of officers with you now? General: Bunch of young officers getting moved around from place to place with this mobilization. He'll be off to the help organize the main defense soon enough. Lt. Stone: You guys can clear out. We got this. Blaine: Be careful who you tell what to do junior. Butterbar punk with your nightvision, ha. Won't help you out here. Let's go boys. Dutch: Good Luck General! The helicopter took off and the Army Unit moved into the base steadily upgrading the fortifications and setting up their gear. Beeze: General. I don't know what those guys were talking about, our guys see nothing in 5 miles with a heat signature larger than bird. General: We'll keep scanning the area Captain. Tomorrow you'll be taking a patrol out before you ship off to the front.
  4. Map Name: Studica Grid G2 This is Filace Brick News Correspondent Cindy Tiles reporting LIVE from the Northern Filace. We had been receiving numerous reports of construction in this area but had been denied access for a week. Rumors were abound about many high level meetings in the capital for the past few weeks with the Ambassador of New Brickika. The Government's of Filace and New Brickika signed a new treaty over the weekend furthering their alliance. Both countries agreed to build bases and allow troop housing on their respective lands. Security is very tight today as the press were finally allowed access to the site during a Joint Press Conference from the President of Filace and New Brickika's Ambassador to Filace. Both countries share an interest in preserving peace and putting an end to foreign aggression. Originally this project was due to start next year. However, due to the rising tensions in the region, this project has been expedited to the top of the list. Both leaders stood in solidarity and spoke of the shared values of their nations as they strive for peace. Filace's press secretary briefed the media on the situation while we were being bused to the site. The base is expected to be operational in a little over a month and construction to be completed shortly after. Filace is utilizing a new modular interlocking bick building material design system which is making this process go very smoothly. Whatever the time table may be, things are surely heating up here in Filace. This is Cindy Tiles reporting from Filace.
  5. The Great Brick War Catalyst Part III- Operation Jackal Preparation has begun for an Operation in response to the Briolui Radar Station Seizure. Filace is cool and calm, but also understands it is now under a lot of pressure with the additional capture of Toohati operatives working on their side of the border to disrupt their way of life. Though Brioului and Toohati have yet to formally declare war, Filace believes they will wait until just before they are ready to strike. Filace has put together a small team of crack soldiers to cross the border into Briolui and begin the first stage of a multi part Operation titled "Jackal" to even the odds. Electronic AWACs indicates that Briolui has not gotten the Radar Site up and full functional since taking it over. One of the civilian contractors informed the intelligence service that they disabled a system prior to being evacuated. Briolui will fix the problem, but it is taking them some time. Map Name: Studica - Grid E4- 2 Miles from the Border to Briolui- 2200 Hours Nightstalker Pilot: Base, this is Nightstalker 3-4, we are dropping the Cobra package now. Cobra Team, you're up. 20 seconds to drop. This one's gonna be tight. Cobra 1: Roger that. Let's go guys, get to the ramp. Cobra 2: Damn! Look at how close those trees are! Cobra 3: These pilots sure have a big pair of.... CUTTING IN Nightstalker Pilot: 10 Seconds to Ground. Hold On! We are doing a quick touch and go. Cobra 1: Roger. Let's go! Nightstalker Pilot: Touchdown. GO! GO! GO! Good luck boys! Cobra 3: We are all off and clear Nightstalker 3-4. Thanks for the ride. Cobra 2: Lets get to that tree line. The team broke into the jungle to get out of the open. Though still in friendly territory, the team wanted to remain undetected by both friend and foe so they traveled only by night. They had a long journey ahead of them which would last a few days. This was not a race, it was a marathon. The team switched over to secure internal comm channels and use throat microphones to communicate. Cobra 1: 3 this is 1, how's our rear looking? Cobra 3: Rear looks good. She must work out. Cobra 1: This is me laughing 3...... Cobra 3: Rear is all clear 1. It's getting a good look at this damn heavy Laser Designator. Cobra 2: How long we going tonight 1? Cobra 1: At a minimum we're crossing that border tonight. Radio Silence unless we run into something from here on out. The team comfortably made it across the border and was on high alert. The south central portion of Grid E4 has a massive lake in it. The team trekked through the night right up until about 0400 Hours and false dawn quickly approached. The Cobra team skirted along the lake a bit before setting up their NDP (Night Defensive Position). The team circled the NDP twice to make sure they were alone. The team went down for the day and took shifts sleeping and eating. Well inside enemy territory, everyone was on high alert. Before moving out, Cobra 1 called in a SITREP to home base. Cobra 1: Base, this is Cobra. How copy over. Crackling Radio: We have you loud and clear Cobra. What is your status? Over. Cobra 1: We are proceeding to Rally Point 1 in Grid E5 and will be there before First Light. Crackling Radio: Roger Cobra. Be advised, Phase 2 of Operation Jackal will be in motion at that time. It is imperative that you relay any issues in a timely manner so we can abort if necessary. Satellite scans indicate you should have little to no interaction with others before reaching the target. Cobra 1: Solid Copy on your last Base. Cobra 1 Out. The team moved out and started Night 2 of their journey. Though they had no encounters, the terrain proved to be quite difficult as they gained elevation. The vegetation was thick and overgrown drastically slowing the teams progress. By the time they found a suitable position to go quiet for the day hours, they were exhausted and in need of a break. Similar to the day before, the team slept and ate in shifts only this time it was abit of a heavier sleep. Cobra had only a few more miles to cover this evening. Before moving out, Cobra 1 again called in a SITREP Cobra 1: Base this is Cobra over. Crackling Radio: We have you Cobra. Status Check. Cobra 1: We succeeded in hitting rally point 1 last night. No signs of detection. We are (3) miles from our final position. As of now Jackal is a go. Any update? Crackling Radio: Good to hear Cobra. Jackal Phase 2 is in motion. Switch to secure comm channel Charlie after this transmission for tomorrow evening to make your SITREP. We will be joined by another contact, Callsign Gunslinger. How Copy. Over. Cobra 1: Cobra confirms. Switching to Secure Channel Charlie after transmission. Will make contact with Gunslinger. Crackling Radio: Cobra be advised. Today's satellite scans indicate you boys are not alone out there. Vehicle patrols are now occurring in your neck of the woods. Be on Alert. Confirm when you are in position of the target. Over. Cobra 1: Copy last transmission. Cobra will confirm target on arrival base. Cobra out.

  8. The Great Brick War Catalyst Part 2 Along the southern border of Filace, a river runs from Briolui, through the Red Basin, continues on to Erotema, and flows out to the Ocean. The river borders several small towns just outside of an industrial district. Several areas in the district have been abandoned over the years as manufacturing jobs have moved into the more modern districts in the North. It has been rumored that Saboteur groups trained by the Toohati government have been utilizing the river to infiltrate this district and smuggle in resources to continue their campaign of sabotage throughout Filace. This is one of those facilities. Studica Map- Grid E4- Safe House 3- An abandoned warehouse in an industrial district of Filace. Bodie- Are we on schedule? Saboteur- Our team is finishing their final prep. We will be heading out to Rally Point 1 shortly. From there, we will cover our tracks and then make our way to the power plant. Bodie- I have more stops to make tonight. We're going to move the rest of this equipment to Safe House 5 after you depart and shut this facility down. We've been sent intel informing us that this site may be compromised. Saboteur- Compromised?! Bodie- Relax and do your job. Once your mission is complete, there will be a boat waiting for you at the first landing by the river to take you home. Make sure your men are all carrying their fake papers in case you are stopped. Several Miles Away... Captain Lucas- Final Checks. We're (3) Minutes Out. Sergeant Buck- We're hooking up the drop lines now. Sergeant Paulson- We have the power company on standby for your order sir. Meanwhile... Bodie- *OVER THE INTERCOM* We are departing this facility. Leave no traces beh... Sergeant Paulson- POWER IS OUT. Captain Lucas- Pilot! Bring us in a steady hover. Buck, drop the lines! Sergeant Buck- Lines are dropped. Putting a flashbang through the skylight now. Captain Lucas- Sentries outside are down. Lets Go! Lets Go! Saboteur- I CANT SEE! Sergeant Buck- We're inside moving to eliminate threats. Captain Lucas- *SCREAMING OVER THE GUNFIRE* Get Down Now! Bodie- Don't Shoot! DONT SHOOT! The battle comes to a close as quickly as it had started. Several Saboteurs lie dead, others subdued. Captain Lucas- I want this place fully scanned and documented. Sergeant Buck- Roger, photographing everything now sir. Sergeant Paulson- Sir, we have (2) of them restrained that were unharmed, a boat load of weapons, and maps. Something big was happening here. Sergeant Paulson- What are all of these points marked on this map? Bodie- *Stone Faced* Bodie Miller. Colonel, Toohati National Army. 47346. Captain Lucas- Army?.... What're you expecting POW Treatment like we're at war? Bodie- *Smirking* We are at war, Captain. Coming Soon! Interested in helping run the game? PM me.
  9. The Great Brick War Catalyst Part I More than two decades ago the countries of Filace and Briolui worked on a joint project to build a highly advanced radar station with early warning capabilities for both aircraft and missiles. The site has been vigorously updated throughout the years to stay ahead of the technological curve. Designated the "Don-2N Site", the facility is maintained by a Civilian contractor team and a small security force from Filace though it sits deep inside Briolui territory in the mountains. Filace was the primary financier for the site, so they run the facility and share the information with Briolui. Guard 1: What do you think about everything going on right now in the new? Guard 2: Doesn't really matter what I think. Egos and agendas are a higher priority than peace apparently. Guard 1: Yeah, I don't know. That's kinda..... Hey do you hear that? Guard 2: *INTO RADIO* Base, this is Guard. We're hearing something approaching out here. Can you confirm anything on the scope? *LOUD SPEAKER* - Briolui ID'd convoy approaching. Guard 1: What is going on now? Guard 2: I can only imagine. A convoy with several troops, a truck, and a tank are spotted by the guards on the road toward the Radar Station. They are all brandishing weapons at the ready. Colonel Dillon: Bringing up the General now. General Shaw: You can stand easy guards, we are looking to do this the easy way. Guard 2: Do what exactly, General? General Shaw: Briolui is assuming control of this facility. All Military and Civilian Personnel who comprise this facility from Filace are to be evacuated out on transport vehicles we have arriving momentarily. Guard 1: You're not assuming control, you're forcing us out. General Shaw: You can word it however you'd like soldier, this facility now belongs to Briolui. Upon your return to Filace, you can tell your commanders we intend to keep it. Colonel! Colonel Dillon: Yes General? General Shaw: See to it personally that these people are delivered safely. We wouldn't want to spark a powder keg over something as trivial as this. Coming Soon! Interested in helping run the game? PM me.

  11. The heroes of the Crescent Union slowly assemble at the palace of the Ji Pei where they are greeted by Jun and his mother. "What a fine selection of expertise we have before us." "Indeed mother, some of the very best of the Union. Heroes, I know that a good majority of you did not agree with my position as it regards this undertaking, but I am thankful for your offer to assist and to follow the will of our community. Hopefully you will indeed discover as I have the great opportunity that lies in Xu for the excellent people of this city." "It is certainly more than some would think they deserve." "Let us get on to the details. While we have confirmation from the rulers in Xu that the land is ours to use, we still must ensure that the way between here and there is safe for the transportation of the settlers. Master Legonardo and the Tritech Corporation are seeing to the construction of new airships for the means of transportation however, because of their size they will not be able to reach the altitude of some of Vincent's more advanced dirigibles." At this point the famous inventor's assistant enters the room. "What he means to say, is with the possibility of hundreds of people on board we can't risk keeping them all up thousands of feet above the ground. We need to plot a course to Xu that is quick and relatively safe." "Ah, Dr. Gioconda, right on time. Indeed, now looking at a map of Olegaia, we've charted the best route is over Pyr, through the Strait of Seirenes, past the southern border of Babeleth, across the Jade Sea and straight on to Xu." "There's a colony of Sirens in that strait that we're going to need to deal with and then we're going to need to build a refueling station in either Salamanda or Babeleth." "I'll leave that to you heroes to sort out. Once you're in Xu, make sure that the settlement is secure and hasn't been over-run by monsters or anything." "We'll be taking the Destiny's Bounty, is there anything you heroes need before we depart?" Glad you could all join us. For those of you for whom this is your first time on a Quest I'll pop in with "QM Note's" every once in while to give you advice or guidance, otherwise the world is pretty free range. Most things included in the pictures are there for a purpose so don't feel afraid to interact with what you see. If you ever want to do something specifically make sure to bold it. Likewise important facts or questions will also be bolded throughout the quest. This quest was designed to be fairly straight forward and relatively short (maybe a month or so depending on activity level). The general rule of thumb is that I will update at a minimum of every 24 hours if not sooner, I expect the same from my players. If you need to take a leave of absence please state so in the quest or send me a private message. Important, if you have not posted in 72 hours and have not given any notice of your absence you will be dropped from the quest, there are of course exceptions, but generally such behavior is considered inconsiderate of both my time and the fellow players. If you have any out of character questions (OoC), please use the appropriate abbreviation or shade your comments. Please refrain from just posting OoC comments only posts unless absolutely necessary. Feel free to at any time send me a private message if you have any questions or post non-quest concerning talk in the discussion thread of this sub-forum. With that please confirm that your stats are correct and have fun and thanks for coming along on the adventure!

  17. A dark figure strides through the halls of Eschaton. His cane echoed in the silence with every tap - he didn't need it for walking, but it concealed something else he needed - and his wings bounced up and down with every step. The figure stares out through the stained glass windows, his shadow washed out in their projected light, and smiles momentarily. He finds himself in front of a pair of ivory doors, and with a slight nudge, steps into his master's chamber. "Today is the day." The dragon seemed distant. "Yes. It is." "...Why do we do this anymore, boss? You probably knew what these representatives were going to say before you even sent out for them - I know your visions have only gotten better over time. So why bother risking Eschaton's secrets with this song and dance? I like these people well enough, but we also must understand that the knowledge in Eschaton..." "...Is some of the very same knowledge we had to erase cities for knowing. I'm aware. And you're not entirely correct - I know a myriad paths these people may take. But when it comes to judgment, sometimes the path someone thinks they're walking is the most important of all." "I see. And I trust your judgment. I certainly hope Eubric will, also... No matter what the verdict may be." Back in Eubric... Five heroes assemble in Heroica Hall, as the morning sun lifts itself over the horizon. The Party: Thormanil Nihai, Dragonslayer, Orc-kin (swils) 24 years old male vertically challenged giant Dragoon Siercon (Siercon and Coral) Male, Age and species unknown (Visual appearance of hollow black smoke in human form.) Karie Alderflask-Cour, A True Hero (Kintobor) 24? He seems tense. "I hope you understand what Eubric is up against, should Immortalis choose to turn against us." QM Note: Welcome to Judgment Day! You have 24 hours to confirm. Right now, I'm leaving your stats out until you all do any marketplace trips.

  19. It was that time of the year again, when most of Eubric prepared to celebrate Grogmas, the festival of generosity and warmth in the middle of winter. It originated from Baltarok, out of all places, where there used to live a tribal chieftain called Grog the Red, who was renown for giving exuberant gifts to his tribe once a year. His life was cut short by a jealous rival, but his legacy lingered on. Orcish slaves spread the tradition all over northern Olegaia, and in the spirit of Father Grogmas, people started exchanging gifts with their nearest and dearest every year near the winter solstice. That was the case in Heroica, as well. ~*RULES OF THE EVENT*~ ~ All players can suggest gifts to give to their fellow player's characters. The gifts can be pre-existing items (like consumables or equipment), or something made up. Please think what would be fitting for the player character in question. ~ You can suggest gifts for multiple characters, but only one gift per player character. You naturally cannot suggest gifts for yourself, nor use this topic to ask others for something. ~ The best and the most fitting gifts will be selected by the Game Manager, so that everyone who got suggestions will get one gift. ~ You have up until the 20th of December to send your suggestions. The chosen gifts will be revealed during the Christmas Grogmas holidays.
  20. A group of four heroes leave the confines of the Hall and walk through Eubric, the brisk morning air cutting through the streets. Navigating through clusters of Eubric's bustling citizens, the heroes eventually reach the Albatross Inn. They open the front door and step into the foyer. A drifts through the rooms of the Albatross, sans a singer to say the lyrics. The party enters the bar, and the same brown-haired man that walked through the hall stops playing the piano, and stands up. It was Gabriel Cour - sharply dressed in a suit, as opposed to his normal military gear. "Apologies in advance for not being dressed for the job right now. They enforce a dress code here, and I wasn't sure when you were going to show up." "Yeah, military duds scare off the customers." pipes in the barkeep. "That, and Mr. Cour needs to work off his tab somehow." "If you think that piano playing here is my only source of income, you are mistaken. Don't pay attention to him. He likes to hear himself speak. You all here?" Gabriel looks expectantly at the party. The Party: Jinnipher Buchaire (JimBee) 76-year-old female Moon Elven Knight Monk Pretzel and His 99 Pieces, the Super Sleuth (Played by Palathadric) Calamity (Scubacarrot) 24 year old human Mage Lind Whisperer QM Note: Welcome to 143! You have 24 hours to make purchases/confirm. I'll add your stats once everyone makes their marketplace trips and checks in.
  21. ~This topic is for in-character interaction only, and only open to those joining the faction. Questions and out-of-character discussion should be posted into the General Discussion topic.~ EQUALITY. JUSTICE. REVOLUTION. Fallen leaves of autumn swirled on top of the sewage as Kukulkan, the head of the Orcish Liberation Movement, made his way through the sewers under Eubric Freeport. He followed illuminated engravings on the wall that only appeared to those who had been granted access to the Wolf’s Den, the secret hideout of the notorious Wolfgang. Once he got there, Kukulkan was greeted by Ulric Wolfkin himself. The orc had made an agreement to join the Wolf King's Followers. “I have to say I was pleased when you contacted me, Kukulkan. I have been trying to get the greenskins on my side for a long time now.” “I have had my reservations towards you and your organization, but with the situation of my kind being what it is, the Wolfgang is our best bet. The Wolfgang is not what it used to be – especially now that the witch is gone.” “Ah, yes. Dear Barbie left us not long ago. I’m not surprised you knew about it, given your companionship with the Oracle. We got into a little quarrel over ethics with Barbie, and she flew off to ruin some other civilization. I admit it was stupid of me to think I could benefit from her.” “The witch was nothing but trouble, boss. I learned as much during the mission in Babeleth.” “Yarr, good RIDDANCE to HER!” “Kukulkan, I’d like you to meet Walbartan and Hodurr Thornback. They’ve proven to be loyal followers, so I have appointed them as new Wolfgang Generals. I have weeded out most of the thieves and murderers from my followers, including the old generals, so that my final goal would not be corrupted.” “Your final goal is becoming the First King of Uland, isn’t that right?” “No, in fact my final goal is to install law and order to this place. You know the history this island bears. It is crucial to the future of Olegaia and all the people that live on it. It must be cherished and protected, something the old Houses are inept to do.” “I’d like to hear what makes you think you are any more capable.” “HA! He’s got some BALLS, that one!” "I would watch my words if I were you, orc!" “I appreciate your honesty, Kukulkan. Like you have your calling to save your people, I have mine. I may come from a foreign country, but I was lead here by a higher power to do good – just like you.” “I was shipped here by a bunch of slave traders, but I get your point. And I’m willing to give you the benefit of a doubt. You have the orcs. Better not let us down, or we will show you the wrath of Tarok.” “I will not. I now have two out of the six Veterans of Heroica on my side, so I trust it will make it easier for me to get in contact with the mighty heroes you have gathered under the roof of your Hall, right?” “I suppose so. The Houses will be pissed off, of course, but with their division to Crescent Union and Sungold Alliance, they will desperately try to get heroes on their side as well. War is inevitable, and Heroica will be divided due to it as well, but nothing lasts forever. At least we orcs do not mind war.” “That is exactly why I wanted you on my side so much, Feathered Serpent.” That day Ulric’s reach over both Eubric and Heroica grew greatly, and thus choice members of Heroica were sent letters of invitation into the Wolf King’s Followers. JOINING THE WOLF KING'S FOLLOWERS: ~ If a player character has reputation with the Wolfgang, they can opt to join the Wolf King's Followers by posting a "letter" where he or she expresses their will to this topic. ~ The character's reputation with other Houses is not affected. However, they cannot join the Sungold Alliance or the Crescent Union as long as they belong to the Wolf King's Followers. ~ If the player character leaves the Wolf King's followers, they will lose their reputation with the Wolfgang. ~ By joining the faction, the player character has access to the faction-specific shop, as well as any future events held by the faction. ~ Some future quests will be geared towards a certain faction, while members of the opposing faction may be locked out of them. So please consider your options before joining! FIRST FACTION EVENT: SPREAD THE WORD ~ All members of the Wolf King's Followers are urged to spread the word about the coming of the Wolf King during their quests. ~ For every influential individual or group they successfully persuade to support the Wolf King, they will gain a more prominent standing within the faction (see Ranks below). This ranking can be increased by doing other favors for Ulric as well. Those with higher reputation with Wolfgang will automatically start from a higher rank. ~ The success of persuasion is dictated by the Quest Master of each quest. Utilizing job traits like diplomacy, intimidation and promiscuity will aid the persuasion. ~ This event lasts for the time being. [O-G10] Infection Part 2- Murphy's Law

Location:G10-Onix Tags: Building, Spying, Science If you have not already... Please read Part 1 before this build. Thanks! What the heck happened here?!? Maybe one of these computers still works... Sweet! Let's see if there's any surviving surveillance footage... Log date 759, this is Dr. Andrew Stanton. My research on scaling down the GATE drives is finally complete. Two top ranking Octan executives are arriving soon to witness the first test of my remarkable new technology. Wait, here they are now! This is Dr. Stanton signing off. Welcome gentlemen! I assume your journey was pleasant? Cut the pleasantries Stanton. We're here to see the GATE, not to socialize. We've invested a lot of time and money into your little project. It had better work. Very well. If you would just follow me down these steps... The work we have done here is really quite remarkable. We have downscaled the GATE drive to a point where it can effectively teleport a single minifigure anywhere, anytime. No longer will massive cores powered by tens of thousands barrels of Awesomenium be able to transport an entire cruiser into a general sector. No, this, operating on a fraction of the resources required, can send a single subject anywhere. The possibilities are limitless! Send a Special Forces agent behind enemy lines undetected? Of course! Your scientists need a sample from a far-off planet? Instead of sending an entire team, just beam them over there! Yes, yes, that's great, but does it actually work? See for yourself. One of our top pilots, Mr. Quinn Anderson, will be making a jump up to one of our stations orbiting Onix. And that is only the beginning... Let's do this! Capsule is locked in and ready. Final preparations are complete. We are go for launch in 10... 9... 8... 7... My life's work is nearly complete... What could go wrong? 6... 5... Sir? Something's wrong! What? What is it?! 4... 3... 2... Abort! ABORT! I can't! It's too far in the countdown! 1... ARGGG! What's going on! Shut it down! SHUT IT DOWN! What have you done!? *muffled explosion, screams, and sounds of crackling fire* Recording ends. Oh my... I have to get this back to HQ. Wait a second... I only saw one body! Where are... the rest of them? You're not going anywhere... TO BE CONTINUED!
  23. ~This topic is for in-character interaction only, and only open to those joining the faction. Questions and out-of-character discussion should be posted into the General Discussion topic.~ PROGRESS. CREATION. LIBERTY. On a late summer's night, a secret assembly took place in the Chateau de Shadeaux, located high on top of the Crescent Hill. Count Noctus Shadeaux had heard that his rival merchant, Heinrich Hinckwell, had formed an alliance earlier that day, and thus summoned those great houses that had been left on the outs into his mansion: the Ji Pei, foreign ambassadors and innovators, and the Guild of Invision, alchemists that dominated the potion business in the city. To counter their rivals, the Shadeaux, the Ji Pei and the Guild of Invision put together the Crescent Union, as it would later be called, during that night. "It is insulting zat 'Einrich does not deem us worzy ouf zoining 'is effourts tu regain 'old ouf zis city!" "But Count Shadeaux, we are as much of a threat to him and his allies as the Wolfgang. Surely you understand that. Look at us; a true menagerie of foreigners and minority races." "Hmmm, yes. We have all changed this city in our own way too, we have." "U'lalah ith right; only ve knov vhat vreedom truly meanth! It ith conthant change and adaptation! Eubric cannot remain vree in the handth ov Volvgang nor thith Thungold Allianthe!" "Exactement! Zat is why we 'ave to create an opposing force, one to be reckoned wiz! We must give zis city a ruleur who can truly change it four ze betteur." "But who would be such a leader? I would say you are a force to be reckoned with, Umbra. With your cunning and determination, nothing could stand in our way." "Do not sell yourself short, my son. You are wise beyond your years, and your military training will be desperately needed in the times to come." "I agree with your mother, Jun. You would make a fine king for us, and make Eubric a close ally with the mighty Xu." "What about our Guildmaster, hmmm? The Masked Man has been around for centuries, and with his mastermind at our helm, nothing would stand in our way." "Speculation is worthless. We need to see which one among us is the most popular - that is the only way to beat Ulric to the throne. I say we do as the others did and call the Heroicans to join us. They are not always trustworthy, but if we can convince those most loyal to our cause to spread the word, we could win over the common folk's favor." "Zo, we shall leave it tu 'Eroica tu decide who becomes our noble ruler, n'est-ce pas?" All three families agreed to this, and thus choice members of Heroica were sent letters to invite them into the Crescent Union. JOINING THE CRESCENT UNION: ~ If a player character has reputation with the Shadeaux, the Ji Pei or the Guild of Invision, they can opt to join the Crescent Union by posting a "letter" where he or she expresses their will to this topic. ~ Once the character has joined, they will lose all reputation with the Hinckwells, the Bonapartes and the Ziegfrieds, including access to the expert job classes those Houses offer. Reputation with the Wolfgang is not affected. ~ If at any point the character wants to quit the Crescent Union, they will lose all reputation among the three Houses in it as well. ~ By joining the faction, the player character has access to the faction-specific shop, as well as any future events held by the faction. ~ Some future quests will be geared towards a certain faction, while members of the opposing faction may be locked out of them. So please consider your options before joining! Libra Signet (This sealing ring bears the secret emblem of the merchant’s guild. The owner can purchase items at a discount (decided by the QM) in any store during a quest. Does not apply to the Marketplace.) Costs 500 gold. Moebius Ring (This ring only has one side, symbolizing the eternal cycle of life. The wearer is automatically revived to full health once per battle; accessory.) Costs 1000 gold. Tritech Enhancement (A device that can be attached to any weapon inseparably. The enhanced weapon ignores defense and damages undead.) Costs 1000 gold. FIRST FACTION EVENT: KINGMAKERS ~ All members of the Crescent Union may suggest one candidate to become the ruler supported by the faction. You may only vote for one candidate, but you may change your vote as long as the voting is on. ~ The candidate can be a known NPC or a player character, but not a completely new, made-up character. It has to be a humanoid, not animal, plant or an inanimate object. ~ The influence that the player character's suggestion has is affected by the reputation he or she has among the Houses: each good reputation gives 1 influence, great reputation 2 influence, and outstanding reputation 3 influence. ~ The voting lasts until the end of the year 2015. Once the event is over, the candidate with the most influence behind them will become the faction's choice for the first king or queen of Eubric. Votes: Guts Holla: 11 (5 votes by Guts, 2 votes by Dyric, 1 by Na'im, 1 by Terry, 2 by Boris) Jun Ji Pei: 13 (5 votes by Atramor, 3 votes by Warlen, 5 votes by Hybros) Lind Whisperer: 5 (2 votes by Lind, 2 by Demon Germ, 1 by Torald) Umbra Shadeaux: 4 (4 votes by Thormanil)
  24. ~This topic is for in-character interaction only, and only open to those joining the faction. Questions and out-of-character discussion should be posted into the General Discussion topic.~ TRADITION. PROTECTION. AMBITION. On a late summer's day, a great gathering took place at the Hinckwell Villa on top of the Sungold Hill. The master of the house, the wealthy merchant tycoon Heinrich Hinckwell, had invited over the representatives of two other great houses that had been in power in the city of Eubric for ages: the Bonapartes, the wardens of the sea; and the Ziegfrieds, a fabled family of wizards. On that day, the Hinckwells, the Bonapartes and the Ziegfrieds formed a pact that would become known as the Sungold Alliance. "My friends, I have a strong belief that with this pact, we will thwart the advance of Ulric Wolfkin's poison in the minds of the citizens." "That is all well and good, Mister Hinckwell, but what alternative are we offering to the people who grave for justice and laws." "Alternative? Eubric has been a freeport since the day it was founded! I say our alternative is to keep things as they ought to be!" "Lokuro, ei'ara..." "And look how well that has worked out, Commodore!" "Brothers Ziegfried are correct. While we may think everything is fine and good in our city, the people are restless and unsatisfied." "Aye, and not just the poverty. The young nobility have joined the outcry for monarchy." "If the people want a kingdom, I say we shall give them a kingdom. But not one ruled by a wolf-headed outlandish thug, but a noble and civilized king who respects the rich history and customs of Eubric." "But which one of us would it be?" "If we truly must abolish our old ways and have a ruler, I would propose my niece Attina, once she returns from her mission on the Helvetian Ocean. With her worldly experience in leadership and battle, she would make a fine leader for us in these troubled times." "I must say our older son, Lorcan, has the ambition and vision that is required of a great leader. His expertise in economy and diplomatic relationships would be a major benefit to our city." "Mother, you flatter me. I am certain father is better at all of that than me." "But both of them are so young! My husband Altair is an immensely powerful mage but also the kindest person I have ever met. He if anyone could make the people listen to him, and show that we wizards can be depended upon. Many fear magic, but it can be used to do so much good!" "We could stand here and argue about this all day long, but I have a better idea. We need the support of Heroica. With the influence they have on people, they could really work in our favor. So how about we invite those Heroicans who have shown loyalty to us into the alliance, and give them a say in this matter?" All three families agreed to Heinrich's idea, and thus choice members of Heroica were sent letters of invitation into the Sungold Alliance. JOINING THE SUNGOLD ALLIANCE: ~ If a player character has reputation with the Hinckwells, the Bonapartes or the Ziegfrieds, they can opt to join the Sungold Alliance by posting a "letter" where he or she expresses their will to this topic. ~ Once the character has joined, they will lose all reputation with the Shadeaux, the Ji Pei and the Guild of Invision, including access to the expert job classes those Houses offer. Zirconia (This rare gem blessed by Ethereth reflects all the colours of the rainbow. The owner can cast spells of any element. It cannot be imbued into equipment.) Costs 900 gold. FIRST FACTION EVENT: KINGMAKERS ~ All members of the Sungold Alliance may suggest one candidate to become the ruler supported by the faction. Votes: Eric: 7 (3 votes by Eric, 3 votes by Erik, 1 vote by Sarge) Lawrence Boomingham: 15 (6 votes by Althior, 2 votes by Boomingham, 1 vote by Mortimer, 6 votes by Nerwen)

    Hilarious comic!

Just found this awesome comic! http://tapastic.com/series/RollplayersInc It's a webcomic about a group of geeks playing RPG oldschool entirely made out of lego (except the introduction that was hand drawn) It even got some animated frames and stuff. Worth checking out!
