  1. LEGO did a great job in re-releasing R2-D2 as 75308, but there are still some parts not the same as the real one. So I've made the followings: - changed the outlook of the leg's fuel cells - flushed the third leg outlet panels (front and rear) by 1 plate - completed third leg outlet panels by adding the left and right sides - switched the position of the buttons and pillars of the legs (same as the 2012 version) - changed the outlook of the middle exhaust vents - moved the tools compartments further outward and made it taller - filled the gap between the head and the body - more SNOT outlook - push-to-open the lightsaber cover 195 extra pieces are required. Spare parts are also needed, about 80 original pieces will be left. Instruction available at https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-85457 Happy building. Have fun and enjoy!
  2. This is my very own Tantive IV Main Corridor with Airlock Doorway MOC built of LEGO bricks: Served as an Alderaanian Diplomatic Cruiser, the CR90 Corvette TANTIVE IV played a central role in the events at the beginning of the Galactic Civil War, serving as Princess Leia Organa's personal starship in the leadup to the Battle of Yavin ... Tantive IV Main Corridor features the iconic round shape design for the walls, including very accurate wall-cubes and the iconic shaped side columns, as well as a smoothly sliding Airlock Doorway, that reveals an indicated Imperial Hallway behind to recreate the Borading Assault by using a pretty clever technique. The Hinge-mechanism allows you to get better access to the Corridor, and serves as a switch, so you can either close the Corridor, or open it which makes it easier to take shots of scenes with minifigures and reenact moments from Star Wars: A New Hope or Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The entire build is extremly sturdy which allows you to grab the whole build without falling apart, and every detail is securely locked in place. You can follow me on flickr or take a look at more Star Wars MOCs of mine: https://www.flickr.com/photos/the-creatorr/ What do you guys think?
  3. Hey guys, hope you like this new series! Constructive feedback is highly appreciated . - PART 1 -„Did you hear that! They‘ve shut down the main reactor. We‘ll be destroyed for shure. This is madness!“ STAR WARS: A New Hope This scene was taken in my own Tantive IV Diorama MOC / Tantive IV Main Corridor with Airlock Doorway MOC. - PART 2 -'Imperial Boarding Assault on the Tantive IV (1)' STAR WARS: A New Hope This scene was taken in my own Tantive IV Diorama MOC / Tantive IV Main Corridor with Airlock Doorway MOC.

    Review: 75038 Jedi Interceptor

Hello Eurobrickers! I've been a longtime lurker here on the forums (not the creepy kind ) and i'm here to present my first post, which is a review of a set i recently bought. Here's a description from Lego S@H: Without further ado, here's the front of the box: Has the new Vader logo on top, and no piece count since i bought this set in my region (which is Asia) but it has 223 pieces according to S@H. The top, has a nice little note concerning the new spring shooters we get this wave and NEW! tags for the minifigures. The back, shows the features of the set and again showcasing the new spring shooters. Note: the background seems to be incorrect, since it depicts Mustafar and this isn't the interceptor Anakin uses to get there. Not nitpicking, just pointing it out But please correct me if i'm wrong. Enough of the box, lets get into the set itself! The numbered bags, instruction booklet and the infamous dreaded sticker sheet. A close-up of the DSS itself, with stickers of the solar panels, controls and the Open Circle Fleet insignia. Opening the first bag! Here we see the new trans-green spring shooter ammo which we seem to get in all the republic-related sets this wave, and a printed piece of the cockpit window as well as the Chosen One himself, in pieces. The first minifigure we get is none other than Anakin Skywalker! Now i'm excited, because this is my first figure of him to not have the CW-stylized face. Not sure if the face is new, with the commlink printed but the box does state that the figures are, which may just be the torso and leg printing. He also comes with a matte-chrome lightsaber hilt and a trans-blue saber. He also has a double-sided head, with this one showing the more cranky side of the Chosen One Halfway through the first bag, and we have Annie here helping out constructing the set with the Force Done with the first bag, Annie seems pleased with his work! Now onto the 2nd bag! Here we have the pieces sorted out again, and Annie can't seem to stay out of the spotlight Halfway through the build, here he is again helping out with the Force. The 2nd bag is done, Annie seems to like what we've built so far. Now onto the 3rd and final bag! There is another printed piece for the canopy of the cockpit, and it looks like Annie is building something over there himself... Ah! It's R2-D2! He has an updated head/dome piece, which we can see much more clearly in the next photo. Great printing on the body as usual, and the dome has great printing all over! Keep in mind, it's also the first R2-D2 minifigure i've gotten with these prints on the dome, the previous ones seem to only be printed near the top of the dome IIRC. The 3rd bag is finished, but little Artoo seems to have some problems getting into his socket The finished build! Top view of the Eta-2 Actis-class Interceptor or Jedi Interceptor for short, it looks pretty neat and solid! Note the little Republic insignia is also printed, and this is the set without stickers applied Side view. Back view. Here you can clearly see the misprint on the canopy, and it annoys me And finally, the bottom view. Not too pretty to look at, but no one will ever see it as long as Annie doesn't crash the ship upside down. There are also 2 clips where you can store your lightsaber hilt and...blade? Doesn't seem too safe. And that's it for the whole set! Annie and Artoo bids you farewell, and hoped you enjoyed the review the three of us put together! And the spare pieces from the set, for when you lose some or need some. A good number of lightsaber hilts The Verdict: Pros - Great build, and a much swooshable set - Detailed minifigures - A nice addition to any Clone/Jedi/Republic fleet Cons - Another set with Anakin and Artoo. Some other exclusive minifig would've been nice - Stickers, not particularly the number, but the application especially on the solar panels are easily messed up. Conclusion It's a great set for me, though it doesn't really stand out enough to be nominated for the "Set Of The Wave" award, it's still a nicely built albeit repeat of a set we've already seen and even that set had more minifigures and of course, costs much more. I can't see people buying more than one of these sets, as they contain an already existing minifgure as opposed to exclusives, which IMO is the true draw of most sets. Did i mention we've seen these minifigs and the vehicle in other sets as well? Being said, i'm not complaining, i like this set since i just love the yellow, while the previous set was green in color. Still a great set for the (low?) price $25 as opposed to earlier and bigger sets. Rating Build: 8/10 - I had fun building this set, especially the tilted wings and cockpit, and i can only hope others do too! Design: 6/10 - We've seen the Jedi Interceptor before, and there's not much of an upgrade as far as i see. Minifigures: 5/10 - Again, we've seen these guys before, though Anakin i believe has a new head with the commlink print. Playability: 7/10 - IMO a sturdy build, and can be played around with with no fear of pieces falling off, but the panels are hard to adjust symmetrically and the new spring shooters shoot far enough to poke your neighbor's eye out Parts: 6/10 - Some interesting parts, like the solar panels, but nothing we haven't seen before. Overall: 32/50 - It's a(nother) Jedi Interceptor! You could've gotten a similar set in the years before, but the lower pricing seems to make this set for me. You can buy this as a gift to your nephew, niece, children, yourself or whoever because it's affordable, and because i recommend it. Not for army building though, obviously. Extra: "Seemingly frustrated about the DSS, the young Jedi has to go through the test of patience as he now has to put them all by himself. Careful not to use anger, and goodluck Vader Annie!" Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this review and feel free to leave a comment or ask questions!

    [Review] 30611 R2-D2 Polybag

Hi today I'm reviewing the very nice and exclusive version of the famous Astromech Droid, R2-D2 in polybag 30611. Overview Name: 30611 R2-D2 Theme: Star Wars Year: 2017 Pieces: 70 Minifigures: One Brick Built Figure Price: Free from shop.LEGO.com and LEGO Brand Stores with qualifying LEGO Star Wars purchases, May 2017. This is the front and back for the polybag. You can see R2 is standing on the sand scene, maybe going different direction from C3PO after a little fight. At the back of the pack, you can peek through the translucent part and see the head of R2 hiding inside. Open the polybag and bring out my beloved R2-D2! I liked the design of the polybag art where you can feel the heat of the desert already. *C3PO and Jawa are not included in this set. They will be in pictures below for illustration purpose. The plastic bag material is quite fragile, so you need to be very gentle or else the whole thing will be thorn apart and you'll need to pick up the pieces scattered on the floor. The first thing I took out was the big head of R2. Inside you'll get a small bag of smaller parts, an instruction booklet, and other parts listed in the picture below. *C3PO and Jawa and small R2D2 are not included in this set. They will be in pictures below for illustration purpose. These are the parts included in the set. Quite a few technic pins and parts for articulation and curved top bricks for the body of R2-D2. Wake up R2, the Jawas are going to sell us or melt us! I prefer selling, at least we got a new master. Lets start building. The first step will have something like a post box as the main frame of the body. Then you will build the outer curve of the body fixed to the post box. Oh now you get a photocopy machine as the body. The jumpers are for the vents to be attached later on. C3PO is holding the bottom part of R2 that will hold its center leg. Now you'll build both R2's right and left legs and attached to the body via the technic pin. See how C3PO is so impatient that he asked me to put R2D2 together faster. These two are the printed parts in this set and I really love the dome shaped head! So nicely printed and it has a slight metallic feel of the silver colour. Here is the comparison between the brick built R2 head and the minifigure R2 head. The difference is that there is a stud on top of the smaller R2 and all other printings are quite the same. Tadaaa! Now we are completed the build of R2D2! The Jawas are taking them in their sandcrawler to seek for new buyers. These are the extra parts for this set. Just in case you lose one of these. As you can see in the picture, the brick built R2 will lean forward at a gradient as the center leg is longer than both right and left. Unlike the minifigures, this R2 cannot stand straight unless you remove the center part of the leg and the clip. However, I liked the fact that its head can be rotated 360 degrees, just like in the movies! *Light blue R2D2(10225) and dark blue R2D2(75136) are not included in this set. They will be in pictures below for illustration purpose. Now I've removed the center leg and you can pose it like others with any degree of inclination you want. I like it so much that he is so flexible! Oh no! The Jawas are catching us! Run faster R2! Haha, now who's laughing? Summary reviewPlayability: 8/10 You can rotate the head and make those beeping sound to make him alive. This is something that minifigure R2D2 can't do. This is the main reason to get this polybag.Design: 9/10 The printing of the dome shaped head is top notch and very nicely done. But I think the torso part can have more printing for more details. Price: 10/10 Its a free promotional item! Overall: 9/10 I love this polybag rather than having a minifig inside only. Astromech collectors must not miss this set as it is a great addition to those cute little droids parade. Conclusion This polybag is very nice to be collected if you are a Star Wars fan. The built is very accurate instead of bulky feel. It has a very sleek design and very detailed in this size. Now I hope there is a brick built C3PO to be his partner. Thanks for reading!

    MOD 30611 R2D2 Polybag

The most famous R2 unit from Industrial Automaton: The title say "MOD" because both the dome and front panel are indentical to stock 30611 - the rest is all new. When I started this, my goal was to simply replace the legs - they were the weakest part of the original set - and it snowballed from there. The middle foot is now retractable and extendable because of the Technic T-piece. A frontal shot with middle leg retracted. The binocs mimic the cabling R2D2 has at the bottom of the side "feet". Back view with leg collapsed - due to space constraints, there's no back "cover", but the retracted leg mimics the port that R2 has in that are quite well, I think. Thanks for watching.
  10. Hi guys, I have just finished another Star Wars MOC. This time I wanted to mess around with the idea of forced perspective and decided to recreate one of my favourite shots from Return of the Jedi. As with all my micro mocs I wanted to stick to the 16x16 base, which in this instance was quite a challenge but eventually I managed to find a way to fit everything I wanted into the scene. The colour palette choice for Jabba's Palace was partly based on the official lego sets of "Jabba's Palace' and 'Rancor Pit' especially the dark grey base for the Palace to sit atop but I decided to go with darker colours for the Palace itself similar to the actual scene from the film. Finally I have recently got hold of the Boushh mini fig (one of my favourites) and so wanted to incorporate her somehow. I then had the idea that Chewie and Liea would have walked the same route to get to Jabba's Palace and so changed the sky to a sunset scene to reflect the time of day they arrived at the Palace. Which do you prefer? C3P0 and R2 or Boushh and Chewie? Also I am thinking of doing some more scenes similar to this, incorporating micro builds and mini figs but wondered if people liked this style? Should I stick to the micro landscapes I have been building or do more scenes in this style?
  11. The Cloud City playset from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Backs…https://ideas.lego.com/projects/163944 I wanted to design a fun and playable set which would include the ionic scenes from the Empire Strikes Back film. The aim was to create a set that resembles the shape of the cloud city and offers a playable platform like the Death Star play set. I’m a keen Star Wars fan and as Cloud City hasn’t seen a new set since 2003 I thought I would have a go. I hope you enjoy and welcome your creative input into my project. Thanks for your vote…
  12. Hi guys, I have just finished another micro landscape in time for the Battlefront Death Star DLC. I wanted to do something different from some of the other trench run mocs I have seen and so I chose the moment Han comes to Luke's rescue and shoots down one of the tie fighters. I really like the drama in this scene and Im really happy with the way it has turned out. The inspiration for Luke's Xwing and Vader's tie came from a post by 'BEAVeR' (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84301) however I really wanted to get R2 in this scene and so instead of a 1x2 white tile for the nose I went for a 1x1 and added a 1x1 blue stud to represent R2 behind the cockpit. Thanks goes to 'PRAITER YED' for the idea of using knifes as the wings cannons - I think they look really effective. Originally I used BEAVeR's design for Vaders Tie but it would've meant having to paint the shields black, which I wanted to avoid and also I didn't think it looked menacing enough so I simply turned the Tie fighters wings on their side. I think Vader's Tie has a real presence in this piece now and looks like the dangerous ship that it is! Finally for the Tie's cockpits I used an Arkenstone piece from The Hobbit sets, which almost looks as though it was specially designed for micro ties! I am really happy with this MOC and would love to get your opinions and as always any advice going forward for future MOCs! (Also would anyone be interested in seeing the design process? I have some pictures of various stages of the builds that people might find interesting?)
  13. Review comes form my blog legopo30.blogspot.com Series: Star Wars, Epizode III Year: 2014 Set: 75038 PCS: 223 (BL 215) Minifigs: 2 PPP: 0,13 € Model weight: 0,190 kg Set weight (box with parts and instruction): 0,352 kg Alternative build: no Price: £19.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ Parts list - Bricklink - Brickset The Box The obverse of box measuring 26 x 19 x 6 cm the main part of the front we can see a picture of the finished model, in the background you can see some shots from blasters, explosions and a distant planet too. Above this scene there is a place for logos Lego, Star Wars and nicely drawn Darth Vader. In the lower left corner two figures from the kit and launchers "arrows" are shown. On the reverse side of the box are a few pictures - mostly finished model of a fighter, and information on holders for Anakin's lightsaber, movable wings and the possibility of shooting. One of the long sides of the box shows Anakin and R2-D2 in 1:1 scale. Opened box is almost full, mostly because there is air packed in bags. Here's what we find inside: - 3 bags with parts numbered from 1 to 3 - Unsecured instructions - Unsecured sheet of stickers. Dominant colors here are Yellow and Light Bluish Grey. The set includes new elements (in 2014 were new): 15301c01 - Dark Bluish Gray Spring Shooter with Light Bluish Gray Top - 2 pcs 10312pb01 - Trans-Black Windscreen 10 x 6 x 3 - 1 pc 98138pb020 Light Bluish Gray Tile, Round 1 x 1 with SW Republic Pattern - 2 pcs 15303 - Trans-Bright Green Bar 8L with Round End - 3 pcs This part was published in 2014, but I'm not sure whether it made its debut in this particular model. Minifigs are also new: Anakin Skywalker figure is unique. Printed on both sides of his head is unique, torso as well. R2-D2 is a new figure, ever since it was in six sets. Instruction has rectangular shape with a length of 19.5 cm and a width of 12.5 cm. It consists of 68 pages, where beside the building process there is a place for the list of items and advertising. Finished model Construction of the model is quite easy - manual is very detailed. Construction took me an hour and a half (but filmed building, which slightly increases time of construction). The first stage of construction, with first bag has 21 steps, the second and third have 27 steps each. Subscribe if you liked. Thank you! Spare parts Finished model Comparision with 75135 Cockpit older model is made better, much better. Not only that, we have a sticker with an imitation of the controls and the portion of the cockpit, the designers have thought of holders for the lightsaber. In the picture below you can see that newer cockpit is poorer, and the lightsaber can be put in place, which is - in this position cabin can be closed. The older model also better positioned astrorobot - not sticking out so tragically as 75135. Summary Pros + Aesthetics + Faithful reproduction of the original + Attention to detail + Minifigs Cons - Lack of some kind of stand, through which you can present a beautiful model in all its glory. Hi res photos: flickr.
  14. You can tell by the "lower" Lego Ideas project # that I've been thinking about this for some time: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63523 -- Anyway, people keep asking for instructions. I realize it's a longshot, but the "easiest" way for instructions to happen would be for it to be a real set, so here goes nothing... Note that this stands about zero chance as a "normal" set (obviously). We'd somehow have to convince Lego that there's enough interested people that there could at least be a limited run of 500 or 1000 "Special Limited Collector's Edition" sets made - which means that the price would have to necessarily inflated even more! So think well above 10 cents a brick. Clearly there's a market for collectors to pay thousands of $ for a model they like. The UCS Falcon is reselling for $3500 - I've seen one sold even! Aiii! Other non-Lego movie collectables and art sell for thousands as well. So: There's a market, but it's not the normal Lego market. Clearly most retailers are unlikely to be able to stock and sell a set this large, so it would have to be a special collector's market. Speciality shops can probably sell them, but that all adds to the overhead. Additional, a "small" run means that the per-unit production costs go up. So instead of expecting this model to sell for $2000 or so, we need to show Lego that people are willing to pay twice that. I'll make suggestions as an update, but the comments of the supporters will need to help demonstrate that there does exist such a specialty market. Even so, Lego is going to be hard pressed to do this. That specialty market may exist, but it's not Lego's forte. They may need to contract with others as they do for some of their smaller special runs and non-Lego merchandise. Even so, this isn't as big of a return as tens of thousands of a cheaper set, so they might not feel it's worth their time.
  15. Hi, I'm wandering around the web looking for sites that like Lego, so I'm a newb here. I have a Lego Ideas project, the Lego Disney Wonder Cruise Ship, at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128153 so please support it :) I also have some blog posts about the Lego Wonder Cruise Ship here: http://ourrandombits.blogspot.com/ - it's a cool story, so check it out. There's a link to the YouTube about it too. More recently I've started getting some attention for my full size, primarily Lego, moving R2-D2, L3-G0. As far as I know he's currently the only full size working Lego R2-D2. (I've Bing'd and Google'd and haven't found another, though there are some other good builds). L3-G0 the Lego R2-D2 got his own blog at http://L3-G0.blogspot.com- feel free to check that out too, and I don't mind if you share the link or tweet! :) The first blog also has a few other miscellaneous projects, time lapse build of a Lego Seattle Space Needle, a few random photos, and observations about the variance in brick sizes... - Kresty

  17. On Thanos' endless hunt for the six infinity gems, he has sent MODOK to a distant galaxy to hunt for the Space Gem! However, Iron Man and Falcon have followed him, and have made a few allies along the way. Now they battle on Tatooine to prevent each other from nabbing the Space Gem! R2-D2 is now Iron Man's trusty right-hand man - taking on the mind-controlled Stormtroopers! Unbeknownst to this market seller on his cargo sled, he is the owner of the all-powerful Space Gem! Can you see it? (it's the pink gem in the crate) C-3PO provides valuable information to Iron Man behind the holographic display. Falcon provides support from above. The battle is on between Modok in his upgraded chair, and Iron Man! The young, Rodian child must be put out of danger! He was simply working on his podracer engine when this battle arose. Watto emerges from his crooked shack to see what all the noise is about. That's all folks, hope you like it, and please vote for me!
