  1. Here's some narrow gauge track I've been working on as research for a LUG project. None of these models use 3rd-party parts, which will be a big help at a show when someone asks "Is this all Lego?" First, some straight track: The track on the left uses the straight rail piece, whereas the one on the right uses ordinary tiles held in clips. The gauge is very slightly smaller (20.8mm vs 21.33mm), but trains still run smoothly on it. Incidentally: the rail, the 1x4x1 fence, and the 1x4x2 fence have a rare dimension of 1/3 of a stud. I used the tile-in-clips technique to make an adapter rail for the narrow gauge curves: There are 4 studs of lead-in, of which 1 stud is taken up by the tabs on the curve track. A 1x1x1 panel takes up part of the gap on the outer rail; without it, wheels can drop into the gap and derail. Of course I ballasted a curve... ... and combined two curves into a module: The 4-stud lead-in gives the track an effective radius of 28 studs (centerline). This works out nicely for having a narrow-gauge track take up the outermost 8 studs on a MILS module. And finally, a major breakthrough: A reliable brick-built switch that does not use third party parts, and does not stress any parts! This reliably switches trains between two tracks 8 studs apart. Trains returning from the diverging tracks will "flip" the point instead of derailing, meaning it's possible make a reversing loop. Next up: Ballasting the switch and building locomotives!
  2. Hello, everyone. Recently, I've been trying to make use of all my spare minifigure pieces, especially older ones, to make Star Wars customs. I'm really proud of how some of them turned out. Of course, I found a bunch of yellow heads from back in the day, and put together a Jedi Master Tiplar minifigure. Everything was going well until I reached the Lekku-like part. I realized I had no yellow hairpiece, not a single one. Does anyone know what else I can do to complete the figure? It can be a brick-built design, a specific "common" piece, or in case of last resort, some kind of paper-made design. Thank you in advance! (Due to where I live, I'm unable to order anything online. So that won't be a working solution.)

    Parts for Star Wars customs

Hello! (This is a repost from a topic I made in Minifig Customization Workshop, which seemed to be unfitting since most people probably aren't knowledgable enough about Star Wars aside from here.) I'm currently going full Star Wars mode, so I am attempting to make use of all my spare minifigure parts to create characters. The picture shows some minifigs I own, feel free to point-out any character that could be made with any of these parts (added to other generic pieces from my collection), be it from Canon or EU/Legends. I'm really desperately looking for ideas. Anything from a head piece to a cape alone is fine!

  7. First of all, I'm a little sad that most of my custom figures - which I can assure you are much better than these - aren't eligible for this contest. But giving up? That's not the Jedi way. I present: My tribute to some of the Expanded Universe's most famous characters, in this case, straight from the comic series Tales Of The Jedi and Knights Of The Old Republic, and of course the KOTOR videogames. Because Lego still hasn't made yellow lightsaber blades, the old „green" ones were used instead. Picture 1 From left to right: Zayne Carrick - Darth Nihilus - Exar Kun - Darth Malak - Bastila Shan Picture 2 One more, with better lighting: Picture 3 Again, I swear this isn't the best I can do - I hope you still like it and get inspired to make your own Legends figures! We can always help and learn from one another, like true Jedi. May the Force[4th] be with you!
  8. FILE: Project Thunderbird (2071 – 2085) Developed by Ætheon (a high-profile private military company/"PMC"), Project Thunderbird was the first successful of instance of “jet trooper” (colloquially known as “Jetters”) being deployed into combat. Using cybernetically enhanced pilots (most of which were former US Air Force and Marines), the company was able to find work in conflict zones all over the world. All jet suits contained an exoskeleton, joy stick controls, and numerous intakes and jets that could be adjusted in real-time for maximum maneuverability. Jet suits varied wildly according the pilot’s rank and personal preferences. Though the suit’s weaponry varied between pilots, the most popular weapons were twin rapid-fire plasma cannons and two pairs of missile launchers. The most famous Jetter was Ariel Vazquez. Joining the program in 2072 at the age of 25, she displayed immense prowess with the suit and made headlines for her heroics in the Long Beach Excursion (2073), in which [REDACTED] surfaced off the coast of Long Beach, California and attacked the water front. Were it not for the timely intervention of the “Jetters”, the [REDACTED] would’ve wreaked untold destruction on the city proper. Vazquez would also participate in the Battle of Bend (2079), in which the nation states of Cascadia and Greater Idaho fought for control of a newly-discovered (and incredibly valuable) lithium deposit on the outskirts of Bend, Oregon. Being a PMC, Ætheon sided with the highest bidder (in this case, Greater Idaho) and wreaked massive casualties on the Cascadian military with their superior airpower. Though effective, Project Thunderbird’s heavy and unwieldly jet suits would ultimately be phased out as the technology improved and became more compact. However, it would leave a lasting impact on military combat (even going into the intergalactic age centuries later), with similar technology being deployed by the Royal Cobalt Space Navy (RCSN) in their “Gunzerker” program. Ariel Vazquez Birthdate: 04/26/2047 Hometown: Santa Ana, California, United States Height 5’11”/1.80 m (without suit) 6’5”/1.96 m (with suit) Weight 155 lbs/70.30 kg (without suit) 82 lbs/37.19 kg (suit) 242 lbs/114.31 kg (with suit) Education Mater Dei High School (2062 – 2066) West Point (2066 – 2070) Primary Military Specialty: Aerial Secondary Military Specialty: Ordinance
  9. Trouble is brewing in Nocturnus. In the midst of the civil war that has engulfed the kingdom for years, a new power has slowly emerged: the Crimson Knives. Armed with weaponry far more advanced than their rivals, they have engaged in a scorched earth policy that has left large amounts of civilians dead. One such victim was an ambassador (and dear friend) of the Desert King. Knowing that his citizens would be hesitant to take part in an all-out invasion of Nocturnus, the King has put an incredibly high bounty on all of the public figureheads of the Crimson Knives (including Ulriq, Bastio, and Magda). The instruction are simple: he wants their severed heads delivered to him. Such a high bounty has elicited enthusiasm from bounty hunters and assassins all over Historica. Average citizens also have something to gain, as mercenaries from across the land have congregated on "border regions" to eat, drink, rest, and buy supplies before venturing into Nocturnus. Such an influx of money has been a boon for the local economies. Not all are as enthusiastic though. Someone within Ylspeth's circle has been secretly sending information to the Crimson Knives. In order to find out who the traitor is, Ylspeth needs Ulriq, Bastio, and the others alive. To accomplish this task, she has secretly enlisted the help of Cobold McTavish and his team of adventurers! From left to right: Gerard Renwick Sinclair III, Ayra Valken, Kars, Cobold McTavish, Charis From left to right: Cobold McTavish and Kars Cobold McTavish Kingdom: Kaliphlin Race: Dwarf Sex: Male Age: 96 (48 in Dwarf years) Height: 4'8" (1.42 m) Bio: A dwarf of many talents, Cobold was engineer/chemist/seasoned chef from the mountains of eastern Kaliphlin. A demolitions prodigy, he was recruited by the Cedrican royalty to create a bomb that could turn the tide in the war against Raavage. The result was a revolutionary design – though large and unwieldly (needing at least two people to carry it), it could bring down a wall and end a siege in minutes. The bombs would see deployment on the battlefield by Cobold and his commandos; it was on this crack team of elite soldiers where Cobold would meet Kars (a mysterious tracker from Avalonia) and Ulriq (a hulking refugee from Nocturnus). Somehow, Cobold’s designs (which were supposedly well-protected by the Cedrican Royal Guard) found their way into Nocturnus, where they were used by forces allied with Raavage to devastating effect. Cobold realized that he created a monster – not only were they being used against his own men, but if his designs proliferated enough, they would make the "simple act" of waging war more destructive than ever. As Raavage’s forces were obliterated and scattered throughout the Nocturnan wastelands, Cobold made a point of destroying every blueprint and model of the bomb he could find, doing so until he was satisfied that he had eliminated every trace of his creation. After the war, Cobold returned home with Kaliphlin, and decided to follow his passion of being a chef. After all that destruction, he decided it was time to pursue something creative. Several years later, Cobold is working as the head chef of a prominent restaurant. Though his job pays well, he chafes at controlling nature of his boss. Without a means for expressing himself, he feels like he is suffocating. In recent weeks, news had begun to trickle out of Nocturnus of a militia group known as the “Crimson Knives”, led by one of Cobold's former friend/protege Ulriq. Though they strike their rivals fast and disappear just as quickly (cleaning up any remains of their attacks), a few pieces of shrapnel have managed to escape their grasp. The indications are clear: Cobold’s bombs are back in production. With this revelation, Cobold has decide to assemble a team to venture into Nocturnus, defeat the Crimson Knives, and destroy every last trace of his creation. Having always had a flair for the theatrical, the dwarf has named his team "Cobold's Crusaders", much to the chagrin of his lieutenant Kars. Kars thinks its "too cheesy"; Cobold jokingly retorts that Kars is "no fun". Queen Ylspeth and Cobold are both aware that there is a traitor somewhere in her government. Directly funding his mission would require much manpower on her part (increasing the risk of the traitor being privy to their plans). However, she has referred him to the Sinclair family in Valyrio, who have agreed to bankroll his mission. For now, all the young Queen can give is her tacit support. Skills: master chef, demolitions expert, engineer, master tactician, skilled hand-to-hand combatant, small size obfuscates physical strength Hobbies: cooking, axe-throwing, military history Personality: boisterous, passionate, leads from the front, can be somewhat stubborn and impulsive (this is tempered by his lieutenant Kars), guilt over past actions Kars Kingdom: Avalonia Race: Unknown Sex: Male Age: Unknown Height: 6’4” (1.93 m) Bio: Kars is a quiet, enigmatic mercenary who uses his borderline-supernatural tracking abilities to hunt his targets. Having grown up on the impoverished outskirts of an Avalonian city, he befriended Bastio and co-founded the criminal gang called the "Krenwald Cavaliers". The two would eventually have a falling-out that left Kars drifting down a river on the brink of death. He was found and nursed back to health by the Valken family. It was the first time he had a healthy relationship with anyone, and he would never forget the kindness they showed to him. Kars would “lie low” on the isolated farm for over a year, helping out with various tasks. Though they were a family of centaurs, the Valkens accepted him as one of their own, with Kars developing a sibling-like relationship with Ayra. Searching for work, Kars would eventually join the Avalonian military in the fight against Lord Ravaage. His skills in tracking and wilderness survival would eventually see him transferred to a Cedrican Commando unit (nicknamed “Cobold’s Commandos) led by Cobold McTavish. After the war's end, Kars would return to mercenary work. Tracking everyone from bail jumpers and escaped criminals to kidnapping victims, he would acquire a fearsome reputation for "never losing a quarry". Some targets (upon discovering that Kars was tracking them) supposedly opted to surrender and spare both parties the trouble. Cobold had been a mentor figure for Kars, and the closest thing he has had to a father figure. He would leap at the opportunity to fight alongside him years later, with the two of them determined to 1) destroy every last trace of the former's creation and 2) bring in their former friend Ulriq alive. Skills: master tracker, wilderness survival, stealth, enhanced senses (especially sight), competent swordsman, lanky build hides surprising physical strength Hobbies: birdwatching (a hobby he shares with Ayra), tracking his targets ("if you love your job, you will never work a day in your life") Personality: introverted, analytical, obsessed with “professionalism”, intensely loyal, socially awkward, hates people who are "picky", occasionally lonely (Kars wants camaraderie, but couldn't bring himself bring himself to actively seek it until he met Charis; before that someone would have to approach him first) From left to right: Gerard Renwick Sinclair III and Charis Gerard Renwick Sinclair III Kingdom: Valyrio Race: Human Sex: Male Age: 35 Height: 5’11” (1.80 m) Bio: As the youngest son (and only bachelor) within a Valyrian aristocratic family, Gerard Renwick Sinclair III has struggled to stand out and make a name for himself. Having so far lived an uneventful life, he is the only member of his family without any heroic tales. This has caused him to worry about being the disappointment of the family. Since the War against Raavage, the Sinclair family have become steadfast (tacit) allies of Queen Ylspeth. The queen has referred Cobold's Crusaders to the aristocratic family, who has agreed to bankroll their mission. Gerard has also agreed to join them; he sees this as a golden opportunity to prove himself and avoid being a disappointment to his family. Though he is eager for adventure, he still has to get used to life on the road, where people sleep in the dirt and make-do without three meals a day. Skills: master fencer/sword-fighter, diplomat Hobbies: wine-tasting, fencing, classical literature/art Personality: gregarious, obsessed with manners, picky, desperate to prove himself, has an affinity for "the finer things in life" Charis Kingdom: Avalonia Race: Unknown Sex: Female Age: 25 Height: 5’9” (1.75 m) Bio: Little is known about Charis' life. According to her, it was "so boring that it isn't even worth recounting". All that can be gathered is that she used to bowfish when she was younger, leading her to expert marksmanship and skill in all forms of archery. No one knows where she came from or why she has purple skin, webbed fingers/toes, and a pair of gills. None of that matters to her - in her view, all that matters is living in the moment, so who cares what her past was like? Adventurous and thrill-seeking, Charis has made it her life's goal to "avoid boredom" - this led her to pursue a degree in monster-hunting. It pays well, and the excitement is a guaranteed. To pass the time, Charis likes performing "trick shots" with her bow (such as firing the arrow using her feet) and playing pranks on her friends. Charis and Kars met a few years ago when they encountered each other going after the same bounty: a Dreerack. With a snake-like body, armored head, and mouth full of teeth sharp enough to bite through chain-mail, the monster would have been nigh-impossible to take down alone. Charis and Kars agreed to work together and split the bounty. The pair made a perfect team, with their strengths and weaknesses complementing each other nicely. Kars was a great close range combatant with extraordinary tracking skills, whereas Charis made for an impeccable sniper. Both were "loners" who loved the thrill of the hunt. Charis drove Kars to become more extroverted, whereas Kars drove Charis to become more introspective. Skills: master of all forms of archery, can breathe underwater, stealth Hobbies: fishing (especially bow fishing), sports-hunting, increasingly elaborate jokes/pranks, performing "trick shots" with her bow Personality: extroverted, easily bored/distracted, has no "filter" when speaking, "daredevil", mischievous Ayra Valken Kingdom: Avalonia Race: Centaur Sex: Female Age: 28 Height: 7’5” (2.26 m) Bio: Growing up on an isolated farm in Avalonia, Ayra Valken had an simple and idyllic childhood. Her family (consisting of her father, a combat medic, and her mother, a former school teacher) were always willing to take in anyone passing through their neck of the woods, even adopting a young centaur named Brielle. While Mrs. Valken would homeschool them, Mr. Valken would instruct them both in the ways of combat medicine (a field which involved fighting off attackers just as much as tending to your allies). Brielle and Ayra had different takeaways from this: Brielle would eventually become a fierce knight, sworn to protect the innocent, whereas Ayra would become a gentle healer who avoids violence whenever possible. As a centaur, Ayra knew that a powerful kick could kill a man; all the more reason for restraint. A year before the war against Raavage, Ayra found a bloodied Kars on a riverbank near the farm. Taking him in, the family nursed him back to health. To repay their kindness (and "lay low" to avoid Bastio) Kars stayed on the farm for over a year, during which he developed a sibling-like bond with Ayra and Brielle. Around the same time, Ayra began showing signs of the "green flame"; an exceptionally rare magical power that could heal any wound imaginable, albeit at a great cost of energy to the wielder. The magic could also be used to perform impenetrable barriers and telekinetically move anything from fallen debris to injured people. In combat situations, the magic is only supposed to be used defensively. Ayra would subsequently be sent to the Green Order (an order consisting those who possessed the "green flame") within northern Avalonia, where her skills would be further honed. Nowadays, Ayra travels around Historica, helping those in need. When Kars approached her (on the orders of Cobold) and asked if she wanted to join his "Crusaders", she heartily accepted, both out of desire to help those suffering at the hands of Crimson Knives and out of loyalty to her brother. One of Ayra’s worst fears is her fear of being a burden on someone. When someone does a favor for her, she always insists on repaying that debt in some way. It’s a trait viewed as equal parts flattering and annoying. This fear also causes Ayra not to voice her misgivings regarding a particular issue - when repressed, this can sometimes lead to bitterness/passive-aggressiveness. Ayra has several other phobias, including claustrophobia, thassalophobia (fear of deep water), and acrophobia (fear of heights). These fears largely stem from her physiology (and are shared by many of her fellow centaurs). Centaurs generally do poorly in tight spaces (due to their unique proportions), are awkward swimmers, and prefer to have all four of their hooves placed firmly on the ground. Though she will travel anywhere she is physically able to help those in need, Ayra has a strong dislike for large cities. Their narrow streets and small shops are crowded with people (playing into her claustrophobia) and her naturally heightened sense of hearing (common among centaurs) makes it hard to tune out the constant noise. Though this leaves Ayra somewhat susceptible to “sensory overload” upon entering a city, she won't let it stop her from helping those in need. Skills: healing magic, "practical medicine" such as herbalism, heightened hearing (shared by all centaurs), can deliver "a mean kick" from her hooves (but never does so because of the potentially fatal results) Hobbies: bird watching (due to her heightened hearing, she can supposedly identify most birds by sound alone), herbalism, relaxing walks through the woods, cooking/food in general (something very dear to most centaurs to their physiology) Personality: kind-hearted, gentle/easy-going, avoids violence whenever possible, worries about being a burden/has multiple phobias, has a reverence for nature and all forms of life, unofficial "team mom" (Pictured Below) Ayra and her sister Brielle make a new friend... I think that bird likes you! You think so? (Pictured) The Crusaders "messing around" If you've made it this far and read through my "Great Wall of Text", then I applaud your patience! I've been working on these characters for years, starting with Ayra back in early 2019 (time flies). After a lot of writing and rewriting, I finally have a team (complete with characters and character dynamics) that I'm happy with! I was considering portraying these backstories through MOC's, but going to college in Germany as an exchange student made that unfeasible. I won't be back home until Spring 2022. Seeing as how I have been sitting on some of these stories for years, I wanted to "get the story out" now so that I can focus on the "present day" events in these characters' lives (I think Charis would approve of "focusing on the present" ). That being said, I am absolutely open to going back and building key moments of these backstories (in "MOC form") in the future! Enjoy!
  10. To me, the “purist” line is drawn at using fake/custom/3D printed moulds and permanent modification. For many of my custom figures, I make pauldrons and kamas out of paper, and sometimes even torso wrap-around things. I also make “paper decals” (idk) where I would usually just create markings and the like which I use blu-tack to stick onto the figure. As LEGO fans, would you approve of this and/or consider it “purist”?
  11. Figbarf, Magnhildr the Wanderer. Put this character together for another bash at the Heroica RPG quest being run in the games section. Parts: Ninjago Hair, Widowmaker Head, Kraven The Hunter collar, Fabric cape from Star Wars, Torso is a Rebel/Resistance. Weapon from Ninjago, Black utility belt. Legs are TLM2 Wyldstyle. Character: "Little is known about Magnhildr; "she" has been recorded by the tribes for centuries, wandering in and out of settlements with useful items to trade - food, hides, tools and scrap the people could use traded for entertaining trinkets. A barbarian by necessity, the icy wastelands are a dangerous place. Those who have simply encountered her have been scared off by the stern looking figure. However, the families she has traded with for generations know a different side of the Etherian they call Mags. A person who loves the fractals of the ice she wanders through and has been known to swap a valuable item for a child's drawing." With Theme Music! More MOCs for this figure will be coming, the little backdrop is a go at something Techno-Magical. Thanks for taking a look!
  12. Hello, everybody! I live in a place where acquiring LEGO (sets or parts) is incredibly difficult due to many reasons, including the inability to buy online. I would like some ideas concerning minifigures I never had. What I would like is: -A head design for Kit Fisto (Purist, and I can apply decals for the face. I just need ideas for the tentacles.) -Luminara's hat. -Aayla Secura's twi'lek tentacles -Pong Krell's head. If any of you have any ideas, I would be extremely glad to learn from you! Thank you!
  13. Some of you may already know that I enjoy creating custom CMF series, with an even and coherent group in mind. But sometimes, I end up with that one individual minifigure, who insists on standing on its own without the need of a whole serie. So here is the topic where I will gather those minifigures. They will be added in individual comments, with an updated recap right here as I create them. Pictures are clickable and lead to each character's own comment.. <
  14. Hi! This is the thread where I'll be posting my figs from time to time, glad to have you here! I've been quite active making OC figs in the past (not so much nowadays) but I never really shared a lot of them on EB, most of them stayed on Flickr. Recently I've been compiling years worth of individual figure shots into collages, in an attempt to streamline my Flickr photostream and to also free up some space for future images. I thought now would be a good time to share them. 15. Hello! In this thread, you can post purist customs that you have created from movies and games, like John Wick and Mortal Kombat. You may suggest parts that look good create a recipe share your customs Please do not post super heroes customs in here, there are seperate threads for those. The figures do not have to be entirely accurate, as some characters are incredibly hard to make. Have fun!
  16. Hello everybody, I've been looking at some threads here, and I found some pretty nice ideas for the thing that I like the most, minifigure customization. I like making purist figures more than anything, and I'm specialized in Marvel Comics and Star Wars minifigures. What I'm looking for is some parts to use to make rather obscure villains of the Hulk; The U-Foes. I've been searching for many ways, and could come up with nice designs, but I would also like to see what people think is good. The U-foes are Ironclad, Vapor, Vector, and X-Ray. You can give me ideas, whether they're based off the regular comics design, the ones from the Video-Game, or even a custom design of yours. Every idea would be appreciated!

    Purist Green Lantern Mod

"In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might Beware my power Green Lantern's light!" After seeing the new lantern piece, I thought to myself "What's stopping me from putting different colours in the lantern?" Nothing is. Then that's where the lightbulb lit up like fireworks on 4th of July: Green Lantern's Lantern! I like the lantern from the 2015 set; the designers did very god work with the old lantern considering the scale and the pieces they had available back in 2015. However, with the addition of the new piece I feel it looks a better scale than 2015. Honest opinions are appreciated and welcome. Expect to see some more photos soon
  18. Who can make the best Sherlock Holmes Purist minifigure? Let's find out. Here are the rules: your minifigure must be purist [no modifying beyond swapping arms, legs, etc. You can make whichever Sherlock you want, Downing, Caumberbach, etc. You don't have to use the Lego Detective minifigure. That's it. By the way, I just made my account yesterday. I love this site.
  19. I notice there is less resistance against using non-Lego solutions in this board than in the past. In a recent topic about pulleys for a crane, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/150151-heavy-lift-crane-boom-pulley-design-will-pay-for-ip/, at least three different people suggest modding pulleys by changing the axle hole, while the same problem can be easily solved by putting the wheels on a bar instead of an axle. In a recent topic about turntables, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/149965-alternative-turntables/, the first suggestions are to use AFOL custom part designs. This is suggested before anyone even thinks about how this can be done in Lego. In http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/148319-little-8865-my-tribute-to-40-years-of-technic, someone built a miniature verson of 8865 using only the springs from the shock absorber parts and the first 20 replies made no mention of that specific point. (What speaks in favor of the builder though, is that he provided an alternative solution using rubber bands.) I thought this was a forum about Lego, where people use Lego pieces to solve problems, without "cheating". I remembered the days where if you used a modified piece your MOC wasn't even considered a Lego model by many people. Nowadays, there's hardly mention on this and it sometimes feels that I'm the only person here that still cares, that can't appreciate a model if the builder copped out somewhere. My rule still is, If you can't do it in Lego, then you can't do it. And a model that doesn't do it is better to me than a model that does it by cheating. After all, if you're allowing A, then why not allow B, and then C, all the way to Z and if that happens, what are we even doing? I understand 3D printing has something to do with it, but isn't the whole sport that you have a limited set of pieces that you'll have to do with, and that that means that some things can't be done? Isn't that the whole idea? I mean, if everything can be done, where's the achievement in doing it? Having done my bit of a rant, I am curious to see how others are seeing this. Have others also noticed a trend over the years? What are your opinions on it? What are your opinions on purism vs. using non-Lego solutions? Do you use non-Lego, and if so, why? What's OK to you and what's not, and why? Custom string? Custom stickers/prints? Custom tyres? Custom coloring? Custom springs? Can you define a limit that makes clear what's within and what's outside? If it's not clear, how do you handle the gray area? If you're an extensive user of non-Lego solutions, why are you into Lego instead of scale modeling in general? What are your opinions about all this?

[PURIST FIG] Commander Cody Phase II

INFO: Commander Cody has always been my favorite character of the Clone Wars Era despite his betrayal of his Jedi master, General Kenobi. I decided that, since I had a few 212th battalion figures around, to try to make as accurate of a phase 2 Cody as possible. This is the result. PARTS: -The main body is that of the Clone Wars Commander Cody. -The legs are of the 212th Airborne Trooper. -The helmet is from the 212th Trooper. -The head is from Boba Fett. -The backpack is from a First Order Stormtrooper polybag. -The hair is a military-style black haircut. -The rifle is composed of a blaster rifle and a black connector piece. -The Palpatine hologram is from the Republic Frigate. The binoculars are macro-binoculars. PICTURE:
  21. Hi! This is exactly what the title says, a topic about purist Star Wars custom minifigs. I know there was a topic like this before, but it hasn't been replied to for a while and I'm not sure if I would be allowed to bump it. This is not restricted to just minifigures, so custom droids etc, can be posted here.
  22. Hello World! I am Marcos "Takeshi" Miranda! I used to live in the USA and now living in the Philippines! On July 21, 2017, I will be celebrating 20 years of GNU/Linux experiences. On January 18, 2017, I officially escaped the Dark Ages for not working LEGO in four decades, when I bought the LEGO® Classic Large Creative Brick Box (10698) and LEGO® City Prison Guard Key Chain (853568). I also have the LEGO® Brick Calendar (853195) since January 2013, however, my wife builds & rebuilds it (the calendar) almost every month. My first, physical LEGO MOC build was on January 19, 2017, and was done during my second visit to Singapore. I've done two more before returning to the Philippines. Then, on February 5, 2017, I bought the LEGO® Bionicle Lord of Skull Spiders (70790) and LEGO® City Police Starter Set (60136). My wife built 60136 and I built 70790 at 2AM the next morning. I think I have done nine (9) physical LEGO MOCs by now and they're posted in my DeviantArt LEGO gallery. I know people don't like clicking on URLs (links) but that is the only site where I am publishing my LEGO MOCs, both physical and virtual builds. Though I am already building LEGO® MOCs (from my LEGO® Classic Large Creative Brick Box), I am not a LEGO® Addict! I'm just a simple LEGO® Purist that randomly builds for the sole purpose of making digitized LEGO® Art. Though I have countless hours available, producing a LEGO® MOC (physical/virtual) is not a priority. I have recently added LEGO® Digital Designer and LeoCAD to my collection of digital art development tools. For those building LEGO® MOC police themes, please let me know by using the tools available on Eurobricks. Thank You! Law enforcement is one of my multitude of interests. Marcos "Takeshi" Miranda
  23. I'm as susceptible as anyone to "the cult of the new" when it comes to minifigures and bigfigs, prone to oohing and ahhing over LEGO's latest creations. But sometimes I don't get that feeling and find older versions better than newer ones. Here are some examples: This is my favourite Joker (though with the big smile on the double printed head, not the smirk pictured), not the forthcoming one. And here is the Hulk I like most, not this one that came out a year later. I like this Spider-Man more than this one despite it being 10 years older. The ghosts I prefer are this one followed by this one. The more recent CMF one is cool too and I have one in my display collection with a different head, but the ones with the white shrouds are top of my list of phantoms. I realise that these preferences are entirely subjective and that opinions will vary, but was wondering what older versions or minifigures, bigfigs and moulded creatures other FOLs prefer to newer versions. Are there any that have disappointed you or do you always like the latest ones most?
  24. To all who come to this happy thread, welcome! As you may know, I'm a huge Disney fan, so after the popularity of the Purist Superhero Figs thread, I figured it would be great to have a similar thread dedicated to creating purist Disney minifigs! Since it will probably be a while until we get another series of Disney CMFs (if we get one at all!) it's up to us to fill up the roster of minifigs based on Disney movies. Anything from TV shows, short films, animated features, and live-action films is welcome here! Flesh skin-toned figs are preferred since they look more accurate and fit in with the CMFs (unless the character has a different skin color in the source material of course), but yellow figs are accepted as well. Allow me to start by sharing some of my creations. First off, here is a pure Joy from Inside Out. I made her yellow since she always has that golden glow. The Cyborg hair actually suits her pretty well. By the way, if you want an official Joy minifig as well as the other emotions, please support my Inside Out Ideas project! Pure Joy by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Next we have the Sultan and his trusted advisor Jafar along with Jago from Aladdin. The sultan's turban doesn't fit on his head completely due to the beard. He could use a cape, but sadly there are no tan capes. I'm pretty happy with Jafar, even though his skin is not the right tone. Sultan and Jafar by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Lilo & Stitch is probably the most under-represented property in Lego, so here are some figs to fix that: Lilo herself, Pleakley, and Cobra Bubbles. Lilo looks a little... boyish, but that's just because the head and hair that are most accurate for her come from male minifigs. Lilo, Pleakley, and Cobra Bubbles by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Also, this isn't mine, but somebody made a Beast using the minidoll head: So what combos can you come up with to make our Lego Disney dreams come true? Please share your creations along with a little description!
  25. Has anyone here had much like making a flail with the new spiked ball piece we got in series 15 and a short chain? I'm not a huge fan of the single-piece ones, and I've previously made larger, blockier ones but would love this opportunity to make something a lot sleeker looking - but I'm really struggling finding good ways to attach the ball to the chain. Any suggestions?
