Here are the hardy Icelanders and their nemesis the cunning Spyrates. The Icelanders live in a frozen paradise, spending their time exploring glaciers, making snow angels and hiding treasure in ice caves. For protection against thieving Spyrates, they have ice spears and a saw bow. They also have head lamps for exploring dark ice caves and a communications backpack for staying connected to the base. The Spyrates have been spying on the Icelanders and they want that treasure! The charming droid captain and his robo-parrot P011-y have a treasure datacard that will lead them straight to it. They are accompanied by their crew with a handheld laser cannon and a torch sabre.

It's been a long, long time indeed since I last posted a ship with skull and crossbones and a crew of bloodthirsty pirates. Somehow, in the recent years I tended to focus on various factions of soldiers. Well, no more of those boring uniforms! Allow me to introduce you to the Kiss of Death! I also really wanted to use official LEGO sails, so here they are, and they come from the Brickbeard's Bounty set, well except this ship uses more of them! Some more photos... The ship's wheel actually turns the rudder in a historically-accurate fashion. I am planning to post a film showing how this works at a later time. The gun deck. The ship has 12 cannons and I used almost the entire remainder of my cannon supply to arm her. I guess it's either time to buy some more or to go custom in the future! The captain's cabin, as usual. Here you can see the rope moving the rudder. As mentioned earlier, a film will be provided soon to show this in action. I have also uploaded the ship to Instagram, so feel free to check her out in there as well! Also, let me say that I managed to finish the build just in time for a pretty large LEGO exhibition, in which I will participate in less than 2 weeks. Any comments are obviously welcome! Thanks!

Captain Fishbone wept as he flew over the once prosperous Caribbean seas. His crew had abandoned him, leaving him with nothing but one ship, his modified flying tugboat called the Rustbucket. Here is my entry for the Space Pirates contest: the Hover Raft. Instead of pirates, we have Spyrates (because it is Spyrius themed ). Three bold Spyrates sail their raft through space in search of plunder. Two crew members wield a handheld laser cannon and a sabre torch, whilst the charming droid captain gives commands, accompanied by his robo-parrot, P011-y. Will the Spyrates find the treasure? Follow the captain's treasure datacard to find out. 01011000 marks the spot! Some more views: As you may have guessed, this is based on 6257 Castaway's Raft. I tried to keep a similar profile and simplicity of design. I did turn the shark into a parrot, though! I hope you like it!

Hi seamates! it took quite a while but I finally have build a long planned project using the old dark grey hull pieces! It was planned in a quite dark colour scheme but I stumbled upon the Orc-ship sail... The Grey Hawk A Bermuda Sloop with dutch leeboards, very well suited for shallow waters, so it fits perfect for an ambush and plundering wrecks: Instead of strings i used all diefferent type of bars for the rigging, works out better than expected and the sails keep their position. The leeboards are raised on the luv side and lowered on the lee side to avoid sidedrift. I have already presented the crew: I was thinking about changing the leeboards colour from black to dark red, what do you think? Minerva is a fast frigate whose sole purpose is to keep the Oceans safe from those Pirates, and dare I may say a ship that has been sorely missing in the LEGO World. She comes with 12 Minifigures and one small cat to keep the food supplies safe from rats. A 20-gun frigate assigned to hunting those pirates! Also carries a treasure chest, for those who dare... Or perhaps the appearance of a ship like this has forced the pirates into hiding? This is an extremely ambitious design with a smoothly curving hull built on a sturdy technic frame and a detailed, Minifigure-friendly, interior. I have built many sailing ships in LEGO before, and this is my best work so far, including all the techniques and features that I always wanted to include. The capstan is also attached to a string reel and can be made working. Further details below deck include the galley, storage compartment and captain's cabin. Most of the top deck can be removed to access the gun deck. Minifigures can stand below deck and all gaps in the hull are filled. With the release of The Pirates of Barracuda Bay, TLC produced an incredible remake of the original Black Seas Barracuda. I'd always wanted a 'good guys' ship to go along with the new Barracuda, with TLC delivering a new and improved Eldorado Fortress and a contest, I felt it was time to try for a Clipper. The goal was to make a ship which was proportional to the original Clipper AND to the untrained eye looked like it was designed by the same people as the New Barracuda. I had to resort to using a bunch of parts off the barracuda, as a result I don't have a comparison shot. That said, part count is around 1300, dimensions/stud count have it only a few studs (4-6 I think) longer than the original clipper, and every vertical dimension is shorter than the new Barracuda. It looks great and should look just as good next to the new Barracuda as the original Clipper did next to the original Black Seas Barracuda. Shoutout to okbrickworks for the fresh clipper sails. Forgive the minifigures, I don't have Eldorado yet, so I had to use the 'old' new bluecoats. Sadly the admiral has a Dark Bluecoat and an old bicorne. I also don't have enough Black Tricornes with ponytail to have more soldiers (shakos don't go with the Clipper). As a result, the officer uses a modified tricorne with white wig combo and one of the sailors has no ponytail at all(gasp). This will be rectified in the future. My favorite ship angle a la Endurance. The anchor works same as the new Barracuda. All the exterior pics are with real bricks. I found a great lego yellow paint, so Owl with Spread Wings 67632 gloriously replaces the original yellow bird. Stern shot with fleur de lis design. Another side shot: the non gun side has 2 1x6 black tiles to keep the lines smooth. Gun/Anchor side has 1x2 holes so the gun ports can open down like the original Clipper. Notice the bell. Bluecoat ships need one to call hands when pirates are near. I originally wanted to simply copy the one from the Silent Mary. But with the discovery of TLC yellow paint, I used a 3172 Pith Helmet with a bar with ball joint inside. May not see it, but there's a bucket next to the angry soldier, he's swapping the deck. While I have built this using real bricks, I did most of the design in Stud.io. The interior shots are rendered with Stud.io. Three reasons: 1) Camera angles for interiors are tough sometimes. 2) Lighting. 3) When it came time to order parts, I didn't want to spend so much on blue cannon carriages, my build uses brown. I may break down in the future for some blue ones. Captains cabin. Another angle. Bed on the other side. The lantern is nice, but I could be talked into a violin. Under the main deck. Easy to remove and access. Remove the cannons for bunks. Not sure HOW they would remove them or where, but soldiers gotta sleep somewhere. Beds flip up to reveal a spot for personal items. Other side. You can switch out the tricornes for shakos and backpacks if on shore leave. Aft has storage. The little gray piece is a mouse. Reference to a regular bane of sailors' existence, also Sea Rats represent! I didn't render the interior of the bow, I just kept the toilet from the original PoBB One last note. when I embarked, I promised to stick to designs that TLC would use. I did make one major exception: The helm does control the rudder. Getting the old ships wheel to actually turn a rudder was ridiculous and some of the methods/connections are wonky (though still legal). TLC would never. This is why the box the wheel attaches to is so large; this is why the rear mast is a couple studs too far forward; and this is why the captain's cabin is so cramped/only accessible through the sides. I think it's hidden well enough to excuse. Flickr album here, I don't think there are any additional pictures or notes. I plan on putting up rebrickable instructions and probably a helm post at some point. But those will be awhile. Hope you like it!

My contest entry is a remake of the 6279 Skull Island in the style of Barracuda Bay, and El Dorado Fortress. This set has 652 parts, and 8 minifigures, compared to the original set’s 350 parts and 6 minifigures. The main focal point of the “Skull” Island is the skull itself, I had many iterations until I settled on the current design. I wanted to keep it simple, to update the design as well as keeping it close to the original as well. It can also turn, allowing row boats entry into the island. I wanted more of the “mountainous” aspect of the island so I brick built them rather than using big ugly rock pieces like the original. I also added an extra beach along the right side of the build and another palm tree, as I felt the original felt a bit empty. Inspired by the original set, I have re-imagined the side wall of the island where two muskets can be found hidden among some palm leaves and vines! I really liked this play feature in the original, and it is my favorite part of the build! Opposite of the muskets, sits the treasure for safe keeping. Along the dock are various boxes and supplies for the pirates, as well as cannons This time around, they are built on modern turntables, keeping to similar to the original. I feel it makes the island more imposing. I added an extra cannon to the top of the pier, as I wanted to add more firepower! I added stairs in this remake, as I always wondered how they brought supplies up and down from the top of the balcony by ladder? A crane and chain bring up the heaviest of boxes to the top with ease! I also added a more enclosed captain’s quarter with a door. In the shallows of the island are two rowboats, one pirate crewman bringing in the latest plunder back to the island, as well as the Imperial Guard. The roof of the captain's quarters can be removed as a play feature, and can allow access inside. The original Skull Island did not have this feature, instead had large arches for ease of access, but for my remake I wanted to be able to have a more realistic style building, without sacrificing upon playability and looks. I have designed the railings where it matches perfectly with the stairs!* I recreated the original pirate minifigures to more updated styles, as well as one I designed. I also added an extra imperial guard to the entourage, as I feel the officer would want some extra muscle. I’ve never really made an MOC like this before, so I am very pleased with how it turned out! I was so inspired by so many other contest entries, it made me want to throw my hat into the ring too! Hi rowers! In mind of the small "rowboat" sets, like 6245, I build an entry for the Mini Set category: Purple Privates - feared by all pirates I made three rowboats, so let me know which is your favourite, i will pick the best tomorrow evening as the official entry. Here we have private O. and his first mate Scar. Both in a rowboat with purple benches and rapier. As the contest only allows 50pcs, the forthcoming rowboats can be interpretet as an eytra, to show what can be possible with the colour scheme: The next ones are monsieur C. and Dante - the duck. The duck is one of the best rowers on the seven seas and due to constant rowing wearing no uniform, so the water can cool him and a thick layer of salt protects him froim the sun (and also showing off his epic duck tattoo!). I even created their own purple flag (normally I never make custom prints besides sails)! Last but not least, there is private C. - the cook. Besides his fast shooting skills, he is a magnificent cook and knows how to infiltrate every fortress through the kitchens cellars. Here I have some pics with the full fleet. I think there could be a complete new fraction based on this colour scheme. If you like them, most of the parts are currently available at PAB online. Probably the three privates with rapiers will make a nice group of three purple musketeers, too! I hope you like purple, pink and orange soldiers as well!

Adventure awaits at the Sailor's Hideout! Based loosely on Classic Pirates set 6258 Smuggler's Shanty, this is a new set using similar building techniques introduced in the updated 10320 Eldorado Fortress. Designed as a set that will be completed (including instructions and box) in physical bricks for a birthday present for my nephew, the building techniques are very sturdy and fairly basic in the style of an official LEGO set. Set includes 2 sailor minifigures, a monkey, a shark, a parrot, and a crab. Watch out for the mischievous monkey and the pesky shark! Use the fishing pole to catch fish and hang them to dry on the shack roof beams. Take a nap in the shack on the rug made from an old sail. Island Front: Island Rear: Dig up the buried treasure under the campfire: Sail the dory up to the pier: Dory (sails are new parts and will be made custom for the physical build; probably with color stripes but I could not get the image to apply properly in Stud.io part designer): Full album of images on Flickr ...and I forgot the string for the fishing pole before rendering the images! There will be one included in the physical build and one would be included in the theoretical set. I should mention that some of the design decisions for the dory are based on discussions about @Marooned Marin's design for Sloop Windy. Credit to Marooned Marin for the spar attachment to the mast, and this is not a mini set entry so it will not compete against Sloop Windy in the contest. No design stealing/infringement is intended. Hi again, here is my second take on the 90s bluecoats, as entry for the pirate contest. In my opinion the Eldorado Fortress lacks in defence so I thought they should add a bastion on a close Island to defend the Fortress to Pirates and even the Redcoat Fleet or the Imperial Fleet. So present to you the Eldorado Bastion: The bastion is heavily armed withe 3 static and 2 rotating cannons on towers. I used the famous baseplate but I wanted to break the rectangular shape wit the pier and the towers. The Bastion can hold amunition in its center and has some supplies, ready to load on the Caribbean Brig on the ramp and dock. The admiral and frech soldiers are waiting for the arrival of Governor Broadside. A small crane is ready load the cargo. Here I added some shots with both sets combined (Eldorado Bastion + Caribbean Brig): There are some more pictures in the Flickr-Album. Everybody shoud think twice if he sails close to the Bastion and the Caribbean Brig! I hope you like my very classic take on these two contest entrys, here you can find Caribbean Brig. Hi there! Phew, the Caribbean Brig closely made it in time into port to enter the contest! (for category New LEGO Pirate set from the 90s era) Although the hourglas on the webpage seems broken, my Kalender still states 25th august so the deadline should not be closed! I present you the Carribbean Brig: (the ship I saw in the official caribbean clipper, though it was way to small to be the flagship of Gov. Broadside!) UPDATE (for full Infos see my latest comment) Old Topic Entry: It is a fully square rigged brig, proudly sailing the seven seas in search for Captain Redbeard. It is equipped with 3 Cannons on the main deck. Two of them are the feared royal cannons (in blue). The lower deck is fully equipped with 6 cannons, 3 for each side. The stern has 2 cannons as well, which can be swiveled. When you remove the last bit of the handrail, these cannons can rotato fully to the sides, but I would let this modification to the kids themeselfes, as I did when I was young. I am a bit late to the contest, so there is not much time for criticism and changing something, but I created some slighly different sterns with 1 or two flextubes. (Please give some feedback, even when the contest deadline has passed, it is always interesting!) The maindeck is removable and the sides of the cabin can be opened: This gives a better look in the cabin, as well: The figurehead is a small dragon: The anchor and the crane have working winches for play. This idea for a shipwreck has been with me for long years, only to be realized because of this contest. My main goal was to present a wreck modified into a cabin-like living space. He's been stuck there for a bit now, and will have to wait for the rescue still. Therefore once the main structure was done, I focused on adding things ensuring his survival. A barrel of water, a jolly roger for visibility's sake, a lantern just in case. (I've included a bottle of rum which played a big part in him landing there in the first place) The gun will be used to signal, but until then it will serve to reinforce the side of the build. Unless he needs to defend himself. The backside of the wreck, admittedly a large number of pieces went into it, but it just didn't feel right without. The other side, I used the same fence piece and the same 1x6 plate for consistency's sake. The bowsprit's placement was a bit of a headache. Lastly a closeup. Once I placed the mustache on him, I knew it had to stay on. Originally I built it in LDD, he had a different face with the eye patch on the other eye. It gave me a laugh so I left the telescope as is. Signed up for this contest because the piece count limit sounded challenging, and a challenge it was. Didn't even reach the halfway point before I realized this build would need at least 70 pieces. Keeping it at 50 was a constant uphill battle, I had to make very hard decisions. Took weeks of fine tuning. There's a silver lining here, thanks to the low piece count, it's compressed to the point it feels authentic. it's also one my sturdiest moc yet. probably. I have extensive builder notes, LDD and Stud.io files, models of previous versions and even a bad ms paint concept art if you'd like some more insight. I plan to extend this tiny island in the future with two more 50 piece/moc structures to expand the story.

We thought we'd show off our Custom Imperial Armada army which we made for a stop motion series. Since the armada soldiers are quite expensive currently, we decided to just buy the helmets as well as the viking torso from lego online pick a brick, paired with black legs and random faces. There are 6 riflemen, 3 pikemen (one off screen) as well as 2 officers and Don Diego De Lego The riflemen have satchels as well as muskets The pikemen have spears with axe blades clipped on The officers have shortswords and Don Diego De Lego has a basic cutlass Overall, we're happy with the look of the soldiers, especially since they are not so colourful

Great Pirate Treasure - 49 Pieces Jack and John, also known as the Pirate-Brothers, take loving care of their ever-growing treasure. Especially the golden frogs and goblets are regularly polished to a high gloss. Her greatest treasure is her father's hat, he was a great pirate captain. Here we see the two after they've just poured another batch of treasures out of their chest. In the near future they will need a bigger cave. Her parrot James is her faithful companion, he loves the treasure too. He likes the golden chicken the most, that's why John and Jack will never sell it. This photo shows the newer Version (20.08.2023) after creating a cleaner look. Jack and John are very happy: more space for more treasures :-) This was the first version. Thanks for advice. 49 pieces. I used 2 older minifigs and new and old parts from my stuff. The Chest is empty.

Here’s my attempt at updating 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up/Soldiers’ Tavern in the style of Barracuda Bay and Eldorado Fortress! Like those sets, I tried to keep this model close to the original set’s color scheme and "footprint", while adding more textural detail, play features, furnishings, and accessories. Decades ago, this seaside tavern was a popular gathering place for soldiers, merchant sailors, and even pirates — although those who spoke TOO freely about their extralegal exploits would often face a grueling detention in the nearby village lock-up. Now, 22 years later, the tavern has been renovated with breezy outdoor seating for its patrons, a stew stove to prepare hot meals, and high-quality pewter, brass, and ceramic tableware. On a good day, the tavern-keeper leaves with a full coin purse when it comes time to lock up! Meanwhile, the imperial soldiers have converted that meager jail cell into a customs impound for all the valuable contraband they’ve seized from local smugglers: molasses, tea leaves, and even gold bullion. Trade goods as fine as these are of course a tempting target for any number of scoundrels and sea raiders… But later tonight, Captain Will and his young protégé Middy Mae also have their sights on another prize: a map to the fabled pirate refuge, Barracuda Bay. In the meantime, they're counting on the tavern keeper to keep the imperial officer distracted with food, drink, and gossip… and hoping that pesky seagull’s squawking won’t draw the attention of the soldiers keeping watch from the rooftop! While law-abiding sailors are welcome to moor their boats at the dock out front, Will’s learned not to take his chances around these snooping soldiers. His trusty catboat is waiting for his return along a nearby coast if he needs to make a quick getaway! Hope you enjoy this MOC! Nautical builds are not my forte, but since the new Eldorado Fortress set and some of the other creative contest entries here on Eurobricks entries in this contest had me feeling so inspired, I figured I might as well try my hand at updating a classic Pirates set. And honestly, I’m proud that I was able to come up with this in just a couple months, especially since it’s been a few years since the last time I finished a MOC to my satisfaction. In any case, I’m eager to hear what this forum’s more experienced sailors think of it!

After buying Eldorado Fortress, and not having bought Barracuda Bay when it came out, my brother and I thought about making a pirate build to go up against Eldorado Fortress. After looking at the classic pirates hideouts and forts, we decided upon Rock Island Refuge. So we bought the Redbeard and crewmates from Barracuda Bay off of bricklink, and started building. Similar to Eldorado fortress, Rock island refuge can take its classic form or turn into an elongated shape, perfect for displaying. The fortress has a full interior including a kitchen, desk for Redbeard/mapping area, a treasure stash hidden under a trapdoor, an armory, sleeping quarters and a prison cell, which can be broken open using a lever. Outside there is also multiple docks with a cannon, a crane, two ratlines on the sides and two rope bridges. There are also 2 watercrafts, a raft and a small bluecoat rowboat Overall, we love the final product, and hope you do too

Forbidden Cove. I remember buying this set when I was 9. Enchanted Island was out of the question. This was my consolation. I loved the rotating face. I loved that it had extra Islander hair (the Kahuka mask was awesome, but I already had him, I needed more soldiers). The happy sandy beaches, the imposing tropical tower. Good times. With so many others remaking Enchanted Island, and with so much time spent on Saber Island, I thought this would be a fun project. The thatched roof does work with real bricks, there can be a little tension on stray cactus pieces, but nothing worse than being stored in a plastic tub with 6000 other pieces. The frame holding it up is sturdy. Islander minifigures are sourced from the new Indiana Jones set. The triangle stonework is as well. I'm sure you'll notice several things. Yes, I took 90% of the Tiki mask from the new Indiana Jones set. Yes it is crooked. And no, I'm not sure what that red stuff is in the little pool. If you straighten the Tiki mask, a door to the cave opens up! Inside we have headless skeletons strewn around, some roots, and a golden treasure. With real bricks you'll want to grab x276 (Sun Disk from Amazon Ancient Ruins) or 73681 (Golden Idol from Indiana Jones), but since those models aren't in Stud.io I used a skull with metallic gold. If you turn the zebra-print drum on the back... The mouth opens! The gap is enough for a figure to squeeze through (2 studs wide by 4 bricks tall). There you have it. Ahoy there! This is an entry for the Mini Set Category. In the middle of the Caribbean, there is a tiny island with a palm tree where the fearless pirate Cutlass Jane hides here treasure. A skull marks the spot! Use the shovel to remove the sand and reveal the shiny doubloons! This 30-piece set also includes a small tub and paddle that she can use to get to the island. This would be the first mini set to feature a female pirate! I hope ye fancy me entry. Comment away, mateys!

Pirates Mini Set MOC: 6300 Treasure Found (v2) The Pirate Captain seems to have been very successful in finding the treasure. It appears he has made good use of it since then. The monkey is also up to no good. Maybe innocent mischief or is it seeing his chance of breaking free from his master?! I'm quite sure TLG wouldn't allow any rogue designer to put this set on the market. Nevertheless it would have been a nice little set I think. Parts: 33 I'm not sure if if would fitter better in the 'new' era. A lot of parts used did not exist in my childhood years when I had most of the small sets, but it could also fit in style back then I think. The lid of the barrel and monkey are currently non-existing / recolored items (Dark Brown). All the other parts do exist already in the particular color etc. Note: the studio file can be found here.
