    Aged Legos

Hello Everyone, I have a Problem that I hope someone can help me. First let me say that I live in Indonesia and have collected legos since I was 3 - 5 years old, now I'm 23 and still enjoying to play with them but I have encountered a few problems. 1. oily , Greasy tires, I don't know if anyone else has this problem but my small lego tires have harden and are sticky as if they have been rolled in sugar then let to dry . I have tried to wash them in hot water with soap and I let them sit in the water over night. if anyone can recommend a different solution , great . 2. yellowed white bricks, I'm sure many of you know this, yellowed white bricks I have heard to use peroxide but my problem is I live in Indonesia and peroxide is only available in 100% not 3% or .99%. so I dont know the mixing levels with water and peroxide . if some can tell me how much peroxide for 1 liter or 2 , cause I've got thousands of white pieces all affected . 3. also with the white pieces can I do colors like light grey and blue ? thx I hope someone can help me

  4. I made this thread on order to help anyone who is having trouble finding discontinued sets. Does anyone know where to find the Ninja DB X in the UK? it's still easily available in America, but the set was released three months earlier in the UK, which means that it gets discontinued three months earlier.
  5. Hello everyone! Here is my "last-minute" creation for the Expand the Winter Village VI contest. It's a 2 in 1 building. The main building is an antique store, but it's a little bit big if we compare it with other Winter Village LEGO sets, isn't it? That's why we can open it up and get two smaller, but more interesting buildings: an antique store and an old house. Hope you like my entry for the contest, please leave your opinion here, I can't wait to read it. Please fly to my Flickr album for more, detailed photos: Winter Village: Antique store and an old house Happy holidays, and happy new year for everyone!

    WIP - Old Town Center

UPDATE FEBRUARY 3rd Second version of my Dairy Shop! I made it more sturdy, and converted it into a modular. The roof was changed and a cellar at water level was added. The dairy and cheese shop is run by Cam and Bert (... get it? Cam and Bert? Camembert?), who also live above their shop... seeing as nobody else wanted to live above that, erm, "aromatic" place. The shop has a large cellar where cheese is made. A waterwheel powers the butter-churn. Outside the shop a lot of wares are displayed; a variety of cheese, milk, cream, eggs etc. The home upstairs has a living/kitchen, toilet, and a bedroom with ensuite in the attic. I wanted the building to be a little brother to my green grocer, using dark colors instead of the lighter shades I used in my green grocer. I used mostly dark blue, shades of brown and gray. The ground floor consist of the shop, with an office in the addition at the back. There’s a gate to the side for the delivery of supplies. On the right side is the entrance to the home above. The stoop to the front door is littered with potted plants and flowers. Below the shop is a basement where the fish is prepared, gutted, smoked and stored. The wharf assures a constant stream of fresh fish, sold by local fishermen to the fishmonger. Above the shop is a little home, with 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath and a livingroom with open kitchen. The design of the Mill is based on a Dutch 'Standerdmolen' (meaning literally "Mill on a stand") The top part of the mill can turn to face the wind, and of course the sails can turn too. Speaking of sails… seems like the miller's son has gotten himself in some trouble O_o Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr There's a little dock at the river where wheat and flour can be transported. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr It sells tobacco products, newspapers and magazines and some office supplies. And there's a gumballmachine outside. At the back, one of Chester Field's trusted suppliers; Ziggy Rett, is about to unload a boatload of new merchandise straight into the cellar of the shop. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another part of my Old Town Center is done! It's a Green Grocer, situated next to the water (river) and bridge. Its architecture is based on old Dutch, German and Flemish buildings, with a big dose of my favorite artist; Anton Pieck. The building has a cellar (stock room), a shop on the ground floor, and an apartment. There's also a little extension at the back. There's a pump outside, between the front door of the apartment and the bridge. The shop displays a variety of food stuffs outside. The ugly black mess around the base hides some even uglier scaffolding. None of this will be visible as I build more around this part of the Town Center. Miss Clementine greets her customers buying her fresh produce. Outside she has apples, pineapples, strawberries, bananas, cherries, pumpkins, chilies, juice and more on display. There's garlic hanging next to the door, doubling as a vampire repellant ^_^ Mr. Jonah Gold brings a fresh batch of bright red apples, straight from his farm! Artie Choke, the stock clerk, comes out to help him unload. Around back is the old little wharf, where produce can be brought by boat, straight into the cellar. Hope you all enjoyed! Thanks! ^_^

    MOC Mirror Lake Cottage

Hello all, I would like to share you guys my first 'Historic Theme' worthy MOC. Mirror Lake Cottage is a peaceful cottage where friends join to have a great time. Relax by the lake, take the boat for a trip, chop some wood and play with the dogs. For someone who wants to have a chat with the lady of the house, it tends to get slippery. Hope you like the MOC. Feel free to comment! MOC - Carripana - Old Truck

I've been wanting to do some builds different from my usual castle/fantasy tendency, so while I'm waiting a few days for some parts to arrive to do more builds to my LUGs Fantasy display, I decided to make this little truck. This is based on one of many trucks that I saw (and hitchhiked) on my home little town when I was a kid. Mr. Manel da Linda is very annoyed because that little bastard is taking toooo long to cross the road... :) This is my first thing with wheels :) so please bare with me. I must say I had lots of fun building this and definitely want to do MOCs of different themes from now on! Thanks for watching! PS: Carripana is portuguese for "old decaying ugly truck"! ;) Carripana Carripana Carripana

    [MOC] - Butcher shop

As a brother to my Dairy Shop (see http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=105597), I've just finished the second addition to my WIP; Old Town Square: a Butcher Shop! Butcher by Bennemans1984, on Flickr This shop has been in the family for centuries! It's well known among the locals for its fresh products and great service! Mr Butcher likes to keep his little stoop nice and clean for his customers. Primarily using the colors black, dark brown, dark tan and olive green, this building is noticeably darker than my Dairy Shop. It has plenty of elaborate wood carvings, including the bell-gable, the windows and the carving of a pig above the door of the shop. Outside, the butcher has displayed some dried sausages, a table with meat sauces and gravies, and some meats. In the window, the townsfolk can salivate over the meat, poultry and pork displayed there. Mr. Butcher takes pride in his family business! At the back is a little extension, which serves as the staff entrance to the butcher shop. The front door to the apartment above the shop is situated at the back as well. (of course the apartment is fully furnished, with a kitchen/living above the shop, and a bed/bathroom in the attic) Hope you guys like! [excuse the poor quality of the photos, don't have a great camera]

    Old Tram

Hi! I build a tram to my city, my inspiration was an old Hungarian tram. One is a larger scale, the other is minifig scale at least i try to do it, but it fits well into modulars. thaks Tram2 by atkaforce1, on Flickr This is the larger scale OldCityTram by atkaforce1, on Flickr And this is the minifig scale Tram in the City..... 12. Hey guys! This my latest MOC, a freebuild. Continuing their trip thru Vanhorn’s enchanted forests, Adam and Terryn stumble across a very strange and old watermill, with crumbling walls and a curved roof. Tiered, hungry and with the darkness of the night coming quickly, they decided to ask if they can spent the night… Here are some photos, that, again, where a pain to take. As usual, CC is more then welcome! I would like to claim UoP credits for: Architecture - roofing – curved roof - wall techniques -- SNOTted tile stonework Landscape Design - trees – The tree on the left Hydrology - flowing water

    Wolfpack Castle

Hi! Since LEGO had no chance to throw a set of Castle Wolfpack, excluding 6075 for being little more than a tower I built this, to finally have a big and proper settlement. Not much to say. Despite the similarity of my old castle, this was started from scratch. I have a habit of making one or two pictures to my buildings so only have two. In this I have incorporated the yellow Guarded Inn where I used the parts I painted the yellow wall corner. You can see the results and comment.
  15. In search of suspension ideas I noticed a couple MOCs that I never put on EB, so I decided to share them with you! These MOCs are from the old 'Technic Challenge' days, both buggies, and one is a large scale RC MOC with unique suspension and a tubular body while the other is a simple blend of studded/studless with suspension and steering. MOC #1-large RC offroad buggy One of my only MOCs which had appealing bodywork. Also one of the few MOCs to have reliable independent trailing arm suspension. My second MOC is a small non motorized stadium buggy in which I blended studded and studless constructions. The features included suspension, HOG and wheel steering, and a sealed (no holes for pieces to fall through) open-able trunk where i stored minifig tools. I have a couple more MOCs' photos stored on another computer so, if anything, I'll post them here.
  16. Hello Everyone! Welcome to my latest creation: The Gas Station! Check out the pics and enjoy the atmosphere of the 20's and the 30's, the time when gas stations were stylish and spectacular. Before starting to build I have checked several vintage pictures of old gas stations in order to design the MOC that fits the best this age and also the LEGO Town. I hope you'll enjoy my creations (the station and the cars)! For more pictures of my custom vintage designs, please click here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/righty/sets/72157642116878564/ http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94764&hl= http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=93337&hl= http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91343&hl=

  19. Hello, Hope I am writing this in the correct sub-forum but I need help looking for an old LEGO set or any infomation about it. When I was at school my plasticworks teacher got the whole class to use what I remember to be a Dacta/Educational set with Technic and Pneumatic pieces. You could build multiple models but the one I remember the most is a dentists chair. It was in a small light grey box and may have had an inner plastic box like THIS. I have tried looking round but I can't seem to find infomation about it. Could you help me? Thanks -darthluke EDIT - Spelling Errors due to old keyboard. Sorry!
  20. Hi all! I've had a close relationship with LEGO all my life, but have had a newfound extra interest in the last maybe five years of my 31 year old life. The wife and I have bought lots from auctions and such and we currently have around 225 kilos, more or less sorted. Anyway, in one of the lots there was this LEGO wooden box, without a specific number on it. I've managed to find pictures of the exact box on the web, but none of the sites with the pictures ever mention af specific number, only that it's in 700 series or something like that. I have uploaded three pictures of it here and we hope some of you can lead us in the right direction as to getting this 'set' complete. It's full of bricks, but I'm fairly sure it's not complete. http://www.flickr.com/photos/99436690@N06/with/9367343611/ Also in the link is a few pics of some older sets that was with another lot we bought. About 20 sets, mostly from the seventies, I think. Supposed we can get them all complete, what price range would we speak, again supposed we'd want to sell them?
  21. Hello Eurobrickers! Today I want to show you old race car from '70 years. I built it almost 3 years ago and from that time car was put in wardrobe until today. It has V6 supercharged engine placed right behind drivers seat, disc brakes on each wheel and big spoiler at the rear. This is only my vision of that kind of car it's not a copy of anything. Functionality is very poor but it has a openable trunk and steerable front wheels It is built mainly from 8258 parts and stickers from Crane Truck were used as well. Diameters: 35 stud lenght, 11 wide and 6 high. Weight about 240g. Gallery: Link to BS gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=529491
  22. I just found this piece in my Legos, the old "engine piston". I also found this piece and made a more compact connecting rod and crankshaft than the older models without having to have the cylinders offset. I also got 8 of this piece in yellow for making a v8, just placing them on top of the old piston squares. For a more accurate cylinder though, you would need this piece, except with a square hole so the piston could fit through. Here is a picture of the complete connecting rod and piston with a size comparison to the newer one: I think it could be useful for large models without pneumatic engines for better scaling.

    The Grimm Galleon

This here is a ship I built just before my dark ages, about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm calling it the Grimm Galleon because it is a very depressing looking ship :P With it originally, the only minifigure was the Bluecoat with the Morion helmet, on a lonely 6 year voyage through the dark ages. Grim! Also, sorry for the bad image quality, I have yet to set up a proper place to take photos of things. Here's a view of the back of the boat, it seems the sail supports are slightly off :s there's 3 chests in behind the steering wheel, ready for pillaging! Here's a view into the cannons and the lower deck. Again, this ship isn't exactly a work of art, it's the last thing I made before my dark ages :p This is the Captain, who is just the Shakesperian actor from the collectible minifig series, with a peg leg and bicorne. He looks despairingly out across the blue oceans, Here's the final shot of the ship,... where it looks it's best. Pretend the Jolly Roger is a different flag, please! Anyways, I just wanted to get some pictures of this up here before I take it apart and build a different ship, probably based off the Carribean Clipper. Thanks for looking :) Please give me some constructive criticism!
