  1. Hi everyone I would like to know your opinions of the new airport coming out in august in the USA. As a lego plane enthusiast i have had lego planes since the old 4 wide builds and missed out on the 2010 airport set. Do you think this set is worth getting or not. I am in a sort of dilemma because in my opinion its pros are equal to the cons. For the pros - It is the first Passenger airport since 3182 which is now ridiculously expensive - The control tower section of the airport can be added to my current one from 60022 cargo terminal - The plane has one of those doors that are the only type of large pieces that i actually like -The airport is sizable and contains a nice revolving door - The plane has a bathroom - The plane also has a flight attendant cart Cons- - The plane is too small - It has a ton of huge specialized parts - The rear landing gear is terrible - The airportort has nowhere near the appropriate amount of details - The control tower is on top of the airport - The price is 100$ and there are only about 700 parts - The engines should be on the wings because large planes do not usually have engines on the tail section - The wings are too far back - There is no jetway to get to the plane - The details that are in the airport are awkwardly placed - There is no co-pilot - The plane can only hold 5 passengers - The cockpit has no control levers - There is only one door - There seem to be a lot of stickers This is my list of pros and cons so i would like to ask you to evaluate it and if you recommend this set. Thx in advance. -Legoboy22
  2. ... Unless you want me to be. Opening jokes aside, I'm not really good at introductions, but I'm an avid Lego fan, I'm 18 years old, and armed with my crappy phone camera and my gaming PC, I plan to make friends, show off out-of-focus MOCs, show off custom minifigures, discuss Lego, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't predict but am very excited for. I've already visited a few posts, I've seen some very talented people on this site building wondrous things. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can, talking about all things Lego! (If I did something wrong, please point it out, It's the only way I'll learn - I read the entire Rules page, but I wouldn't doubt I made some kind of mistake on my first day.)

    Hi from Edinburgh

Greetings everyone! My name is James. I've been a life-long fan of Lego but had a few years away from it. Now I'm back, trying to leave the 9-5 grind and have just started to build a Lego-based career. I love anything Lego to do with Sci-Fi and robots (and particularly Doctor Who). Down the line, I think my dream would be for The Lego Group to really embrace the AFOL community and make a space that embraces anyone's Lego aspirations. I guess like the LCPs but in an almost open-source way. So, that's my far-flung project idea. My website is 28 Bricks Later where I put most of my MOCs, mods and stories. It's great to have found this forum, I look forward to getting to know you guys.
  4. Okay, this is something different. If anyone remembers, 42000 was leaked on Ebay a couple of months before the set was actually released. Well, something similar has happened. I was browsing on Ebay earlier today, and I came across an auction for a lot of Lego Technic vehicles that the seller claimed to be prototypes for the 2017 lineup. This is given credence due to the fact that pretty much every model had some parts in colors that are not currently available, or have new pieces. At this point in time, it is unknown how this fellow got his hands on them, whether they were stolen, or sent to him by mistake. I downloaded the pictures, because the auction was taken down not 10 minutes after I checked it out. My phone is out of batteries, and is not really useable while charging, so I can't upload pictures quite yet, so for now, have some descriptions. The auction consisted of four vehicles, which I will detail below. #1, Forklift. The first vehicle was a forklift, maybe a little bit bigger than the one Mahjqa recently posted, but the machine is yellow, and all functions appear to be manual. The lifting of the forks seems to be done by using the 1x11 pneumatic cylinders, but on this model the cylinders are black, and not yellow. There also appears to be a pneumatic tank piece on the back, standing in for a propane tank. I can't tell if this is a new piece or not, it does appear to be a bit smaller than the old tank, and appears to be light bluish gray. There is also a black pump beside the tank, probably the same one used on 42053. Also in the picture was a pallet made out of tan plates, with some kind of brick built equipment on top. Functions are unknown for sure, but it has at least 3 valves, so it has to have at least steering, fork raising, and fork tilt. The second model is much, much larger, being a six wheeled motor grader, again in yellow. It is a medium set, but the cab is small, indicating it is meant to be large. There is a mix of black and yellow pneumatic cylinders, and the blade appears to be made out of some kind of new curved part, like the 3x11 curved panel, but like 4 or 5 studs wide. The tires also appear to be new, like the tires on the Unimog, but smaller. There also appears to be a PF battery box on the back, just ahead of where the engine would be, so there is probably a motorized compressor in there somewhere. There is also a large number of valves, at least three on each side, so there are therefore at least six functions. There also appear to be two knobs on the cab, possibly for front axle and articulated steering. The third model is... Well, I'm not quite sure what it is. It appears to be some kind of spaceplane, given that it what appear to be rocket boosters, although it does not resemble any current spacecraft. What we probably have here is something like 42038, where the set looks plausible, but ultimately is a nonesuch. The set is almost but not quite like a B-1 Lancer,, with a long nose, and swept wings. At the rear are three engines, which are side by side in a row, and above them a split tail. I'm not sure if the engine bell nozzles are new parts or not, but they appear to be new. The model is black and white, and is the only one out of the lot with any stickers, which look rather crude. Under the cockpit is "Orion", and under the tail fin "42067", which we can presume is the set's number. There appear to be new parts that act as the payload bay doors, although sadly the seller did not open them. As for functions, there are two yellow levers on either side, just behind the cockpit, function unknown, as well as a bevel gear on each side, which might connect to a switch. Just in front of the tail is a joystick, similar to 42025, with another yellow lever ahead of that, which might control the rudder. The set appears to be roughly on the level of 42025, but may have some pneumatic functions, as there are some hoses protruding out the underside. All of these models had some weird areas that looked like they came apart due to rough handling. In addition, this set has the new L shaped panels in white, just behind the cockpit. As well, the model has some new panels in the nose, of uncertain dimensions. The final model was by far the biggest, and is the only one that I can definitively identify, a Gottwald AK-912 crane. It has ten axles, using the wheels of 42009, and is quite big. It had no stickers, but was in the yellow and black colors of Shcmidbauer, one of the companies that operated the real crane. Unfortunately, the seller did not know how to put the model together, so the lattice boom and the outriggers were set to the side. The lattice booms appear to use some kind of new part, a beam with holes offset 90 degrees from each other, to make the sides and allow the diagonal beams to connect. Those parts appeared to be rather rough, possible 3D printed? This model was the only one to be flipped on its side, allowing the underside to be seen. It had 4 differentials on it, allowing an accurate number of wheels to be driven, but oddly, the wheel hubs appear to be new, almost but not quite like the 42000 hubs. Those parts appeared to be 3D printed as well, but the actual shape is kind of hard to discern. This model, unlike the rest, has no pneumatics, but there is definitely a PF battery box in the superstructure, just ahead of the first winch. The outriggers are interesting, as they use mini linear actuators, and it seems that at the base of the outrigger is some kind of spline piece to connect to the main truck. Well, that's all for now, let's hope my phone charges, so that I can give you some pictures. In case you haven't guessed by now, April Fools!!!!

Hello [Think of a good song]

Hello there everyone. I wish you all great things in life, and hope for peace. I've read some topics on this forum lately related to Lego Elves, and thought I'd join so I could talk with fellow fans of the new Lego Elves series of sets. After my niece received some of the Lego Elves sets last year for her birthday, and then asked me to build some of them for her [and then later re-build them some months later] ---- the sets also got me interested in Lego sets again. In some ways, for parts being in colors now that I wish had been around when I was a kid in the 1990's ---- and more colors of transparent pieces, too. Anyways, there sure are lots of new fun sets now!

    Clone Decals, Help!

Hello custom-izers! I've been wanting to make some custom clones (or at least design some decals). Before I start, I'd like to know if anyone has, or knows, a good decal for this kind of clone: http://alpha.brickli...ode 2]#T=S&O={} That torso is used (I think) on all the new phase II clones as well. When I search the EU index, and the web I can only find decals for this kind: http://alpha.brickli... Wars]#T=S&O={} Also, which is you're favorite? Thanks!

    AFOL Starter Kit

Hi Everyone, I've been an Afol for the past 3 years, and have a fair idea of what sort of themes I like. However when I was starting out it wasn't that easy figuring out what sets or pieces I should start with, let alone what sort of themes I'd be interested in. Obviously when it comes to themes it's a personal choice, but I thought it might be a nice idea to have a topic where you help out all Afols new to the hobby, with a sort of Starter Parts list. Perhaps if you have a certain theme you enjoy, you'll find that there are certain pieces that you use over and over again. It would have been nice to stumble over something like this when I was starting out, and would have given me a bit more of a focus when it comes to my MOCS. I've got a wide range of theme interests, so I thought I'd kick off with more a basic starter kit that doesn't really focus on any particular theme. Please note I see these as the sort of pieces you should have in bulk, and will stay away from the more specialized pieces, that might not be used as much. Plants Having a variety of plants works in pretty much whatever sort of theme you enjoy. Whether its for landscapes or just to add a couple of details having a lot of these pieces always comes in handy. Plant Brick, Round 1 x 1 with 3 Bamboo Leaves Plant Flower Stem Plant Leaves 4 x 3 Plant Leaves 6 x 5 Plant Leaves 6 x 5 Swordleaf with Clip Green Plant Flower Stem 1 x 1 x 2/3 with 3 Large Leaves Brackets Brackets are great for Snot work - Having a variety of these in multiple colours (or just a couple as they are usually hidden) will help your builds look completely studless! Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 2 Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 2 Inverted Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Inverted Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Bricks Bricks are usually found in abundance in most Afols collections, but the ones below can certainly help with your SNOT work. Having a variety of these will certainly help. Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Stud on 1 Side Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 2 Sides Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 4 Sides Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Studs on 1 Side The below Brick is a newish Brick to LEGO, but has certainly come in handy for a variety of MOCS. If you like any sort of buildings you'll need a ton of these in a variety of colours. Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Masonry Profile (Brick Profile) Hinges Curves are always difficult to produce in LEGO. These pieces may help. Hinge Brick 1 x 4 Swivel Hinge Plate 1 x 4 Swivel Top Plates I dont think there there are any Afols out there who wouldn't place the following piece as one of the most useful pieces LEGO has created. So useful in ensuring that you can offset your bricks! Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with 1 Stud (Jumper) The following pieces are super useful in getting different angles on the builds, and I know Mecha and Robot builders have been waiting for these pieces for a long time! Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Small Towball Socket on End late, Modified 1 x 2 with Small Towball Socket on Side Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Towball on Side Slopes I don't think i need to into detail about why slopes are so useful. These are the ones i'd recommend having in bulk. Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 Slope 45 2 x 1 Slope 65 2 x 1 x 2 Slope 75 2 x 1 x 3 Tiles I was going to put a list of tiles here that I thought would come in handy, but quite honestly, whatever tiles you can get your hands on in bulk (and obviously a colour you like) will always be essential. They're super useful, so having a lot of tiles in as many shapes and sizes as possible will definitely benefit you as a builder. Let us us know what your idea of a "Starter Kit" is!
  8. I didn't get many Bionicle sets last year, but I am planning to get more in 2016. Is it worth it to get the 2015 Toa or should I just skip them? I'm going to get the Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, mainly for the small version of Ekimu and the Mask of Creation in pearl/gold. Are there any other 2015 sets I should get before I get on with 2016?
  9. I'm going to try to get back into Ninjago, but I need to catch up with the 2015 summer wave, here are the sets I am interested in. Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty Attack of the Morro Dragon Chain Cycle Ambush Should I get all of these sets? And are there other summer 2015 sets you would recommend? I will probably get a lot of the Skybound sets once I catch up with 2015, I might even buy a few small ones before I'm done with all the Possession sets.
  10. Hey guys and girls, fellow Lego fans. My name is Vincent and I am currently 21. Lego has been a part of my life since I was a child and I think the most sets I had were Lego Star Wars but I had a variety. One thing I realized now after growing up and buying my own Lego is how lucky I was in my childhood to get the amounts of Lego I did as it can be quite costly. Lego was always part of my life but only recently I decided to start a collection again so that was about 3 years ago. My favorite sets or themes are Star Wars and Ninjago (as of last week) but I enjoy all themes mostly. It all depends on the look for me. I am currently looking for an apprenticeship to get my future going (to buy more Lego) BUT I also have a Lego Blog where I do reviews and share my passion with people. It would be a dream to actually live off of that or do that as a big time hobby. I am honestly did not join this forum to advertise t but If you'd like to check my blog out here is the link: http://legovincent.blogspot.de/ I think the set I am most proud of owning is my Collection of the Slave 1 which includes the first slave 1 all up to the UCS slave 1 Finally I guess I will share my collection with you guys. 11. I've decided that I want to get back into Ninjago, but I would like some tips on what sets to get or anything in-between. Also here's my experience with the theme so far. 2011: At first I hated Ninjago, but one day I was browsing the internet and stumbled upon the Fire Temple set for half price, I thought "why not, it's cheap!", little did I know what this would turn into. 2012: I'm now into Ninjago, and I'm buying sets frequently. I went to my aunt's house in England, which had a LEGO store close to it (this was before the LEGO store in Scotland opened), I had saved up a very large amount of money, and then spent most of it on Ninjago... I wasn't good with money back then. 2013: I knew that these weren't the final sets. That's all I can say, this year wasn't very interesting apart from that, at least I got two sets. 2014: After the missing summer wave of 2013, I lost interest in Ninjago due to how long it was since a new wave, so I didn't buy any, mainly because I sort of forgot about it. There were three sets I regretted not picking up. 2015 Wave 1: I tried to get back into the series, but I bought an eight pound set to use as my judgement, i know it's not a very good representation of Ninjago. I might come back and buy some of these if I can actually find them any more. 2015 Wave 2: This is the main reason I want to come back to Ninjago. I think the designs are a lot better than Rebooted or the Tournament of Elements. 2016 Wave 1: I don't think it looks as good as the Possession sets, but I think it's better than the Tournament of Elements sets, that's to be expected, because Wave two sets are usually better than wave one sets.
  12. Marvelous Spidey

    Hello! Comic lover inbound!

Hi, my name is Ian. I loved LEGO so much as a kid, but when I got to high school I went into my "Dark Ages". Fortunately, or unfortunately for my wallet, I started working at a local Toys R Us my second year in college and have fallen back in love. I've always loved Spider-man and Batman, so those are the sets I usually buy. I've managed to buy every Marvel set so far except the first Quinjet, so that's probably the line I love the most. I haven't done a lot of MOCs, but I do enjoy recreating people I know in LEGO form, that's me pre-beard as my pic. Glad to be a part of an AFOL community now!
  13. HI! My name is Robert and I am I a collector of legos, I have many sets and mini-figures, and always open to a conversation anytime! If you would like to buy or sell superhero related parts, figures or sets, please message me!
  14. So, we get the video and the pictures of new Crawler crane. Let's discuss ... Video: Picture:
  15. I'm most excited for the new star wars sets and nexo knights.
  16. Hello, all ye humans! (well I hope ya'll are humans.. though I'm not sure what else you would be..) My Name is George, and I am a humanoid, human living in the US. So yeah, that's all.
  17. Please respond if you have any information on the January 2016 store calendar.
  18. LEGO plans it's long-term themes for three years. Nexo Knights has an extensive marketing campaign, most likely a long-term theme. If it's a long-term theme, it will very likely last until the end of 2018. If it is successful it will most likely be extended for years to come. Please tell me if I got information wrong or if you disagree.

    Neo-Blacktron Mech

Hello everyone! I've been wanting to do a few Neo-Classic Space, Neo-Blacktron and Neo-M-Tron MOCs for a while now, I've already done a small Neo-Classic space MOC, so I decided to do a Neo-Blacktron MOC, and more... sinister So, it's basically a one manned Blacktron small mech-walker with two walking legs, controls in the "cockpit" and laser guns. *NOTE* I don't know if you can truly call this a "mech", but it's sort of a Mech-Walker. I'd love to hear comments, criticism and overall good feedback on how you like this!

    My 'first' MOC development

THE M1 SHARKNOSE Design procedure and notes Last year I competed a Lego big boy steam locomotive from instructions I found online plus a few modifications I wanted. Now I want to build another engine, but not flat out copy someone elses design or even recreate a real train in Lego. I prefer steam engines mostly so that is what I decided to build. There are different things I like about different engines so I decided to list them and try to incorporate them into a single design. Design details to include: - articulated engine design - large cylinders - 2 axle leading and trailing trucks - shark nose from the shark nose diesel locomotive - sloped boiler from the PRR K4 - streamlined look - large 4 seat cab supported by trailing truck - the PRR T1 4-4 driving wheels arangement - that box on a tender someone can sit in when the engine is moving in reverse - large tender - special/rare/unique tender axle/wheel arrangement - possible sloped end of tender - larger than most engines, but smaller than the big boy engine - Big Bens Bricks extra large driving wheels - custom drive rods - Powerful, yet fast - all BBB driving wheels connected to motors - 4 large motors in boiler - V2 IR reciever in tender - 2 battery boxes in tender - not black because I want a brighter colorfull engine like the Mallard and other British engines (blue, green, orange, etc) but not a rainbow of colors either Now I know I said not copy other peoples designs, but there is an axle design that Nebraska uses and I think it is the best axle design ever created, so I am going to try and re-create that axle design. - Nebraskas awesome axle design Additionally I decided not to paint any real railroads name on the tender or name the engine after a real engine. The name also includes some of my favorite ways railroads named there locomotives. PRR (my favorite Railroad) typically used a letter and number to name a type of engine eg K4, T1 etc. This is simple and easy to say imo. My nick name is 'Moe' thus the "M," "1" for my first MOC design, and sharknose after the sharknose diesel. The M1 Sharknose! I also plan on (hopefully eventually) putting "Moe's Railroad" on the tender. My lucky number is 80, so this will be engine number 80. United States flags will be on either side towards the front 'waving' similar to Nickel Plate Roads flags. Still not yet sure what symbol with 80 will be on the front. (PRR's was the keystone symbol with engine number in the center.) So after this insane list of things I want to include I started working on a design in LDD. The first thing I wanted to do was get a good wheel arrangement down with the correct heights for the boiler to clear flanges. I designed an entire wheel set and realised it was too small. The engine would have been DWARFED by the big boy. I began work on a MK2 version, except I remembered to use BBB XL drivers (represented by backwards lego flanged drivers). The sets of driving wheels both rotate in the center to provide better turning and less overhang. I imported my big boy engine into my new train file so I could reference it for height, length, and width while building. I want my engine to be shorter, the same height, and 1 stud wider than the big boys boiler. Medium motors are place holders for the large motors I will install. The two drive wheel boggies are identical except for where the front and trailing boggies attach. The tender will be about the same size as the big boys tender. The tenders wheel arrangement features 2 seperate boggies with 2 sets of trucks. The wheels under the BBs tender work well except 5 axles are connected and 2 axles are connected making one set of axles cause a large amount of overhang on turns. I simply added a 8th axle and seperated the trucks in the center for better turning. This also meets my goal of having a unique wheel arrangement under the tender! I may change those black and grey turn tables to bogie plates so the boggies dont easily fall off when I pick it up. The 1x6 flat tiles will help the tender slide over the axles. Bumpers are placed on the engine and tender due to the coupler. The coupler is designed to rotate in 3 different places for tight turns when the trailing bogie needs more freedom to follow the driving wheels. Battery boxes will be wired for longer supply, not over supply of electricity. Last, the tender will feature a 'real' coal load (bunch of spare/random black and grey 1x1x1 parts); will hide a handle to lift out the coal to show the battery boxes and IR sensor. I would like to use the axle design (Nebraskas) from the trailing truck on the tender axles, but am not sure how to make it look good. Chains will be connected from the trailing bogie to the tender. Possible coal auger (universal joint?) I am currently trying to figure out how to get a good look for the front. The boiler would stick out and be so far above the leading truck I just don't know what to put there right now. I might just design from the cab forward and see what I have once I get to the front. Suggestions welcome. If you see anything blatantly wrong, please let me know, thanks!
  21. Greetings Eurobricks! My name is LEGOXan, but you can call me Xan, and I am new to this community! I have been a fan of LEGO since 2005 and I am still going strong and won't end my hobby anytime soon! My current favourite LEGO themes are mostly Ninjago and Creator, but I like all kinds of LEGO! I also have other hobbies such as Basketball, Biking, Gaming (Minecraft, ROBLOX, Steam games, etc. Also watching television shows such as GoT and TWD, I also love science! I like making small MOCS (my own creations) for fun sometimes. I do my best to be kind to the people around me, and I think I do a pretty good job at it! I don't have that much of a sense of humor unfortunately. But I'm glad to be a part of this friendly community now! I heard about the community from an aquiantence on the computer game ROBLOX, his name is 4SCI, he's a great guy! Anyway that wraps up this small paragraph about me and how I got here. Thanks for reading! :-) -Xan
  22. Hey guys, I'm making a petition for Lego to create these sets, and I need your help! Below, list some of your own, and I might add them to the petition. State your name and why you'd like these sets made, and others you might like. These sets probably won't be made if we don't get enough people to petition it, but a Star Wars minifig series would be an awesome way to get figures that haven't even been made yet. Below, are a list of figures that haven't been made yet, or should just still be in the packs, as well. Leave down your favorites below! Ph. 2 Commander Cody Magna Guard Newer Clone Wars version of Anakin Newer Clone Wars version of Obi Wan Newer Clone Wars version of Ahsoka Hando Ohnaka Gregor Commander Wolffe Ph. 2 Commander Fox Mace Windu Bo-Katan Shaak Ti Obi Wan- Mandalorian disguise Mas Amedda These sets would also include new blaster, and weapons! Felucia battle pack- Commander Bly, 3 star corps troopers. (Can be a mic of maybe scouts, regular troopers or airborne, so we could get a good mix) Order 66- Includes three 501st troopers, and 1 Jedi. (Minor details might include an emperor palpatine hologram, and maybe some coruscant looking environmental details.) A new utapau set with greivous and obi wan that includes the Varactyl and maybe Commander Cody. The High Council Jedi Conference room- Obi-Wan, Yoda, Mace Windu, Aayla Secura, Kit Fisto and Agen Kolar along with chairs, and holographic images of each of them. 24. Haven't seen any MOCs of the new white TIEs from Star Wars 7 yet, wanted to change that. Have this. The first of Sienar's TIEs with a more efficient white-painted solar cell, the TIE/cs utilizes five long range disruptor cannons, fed by two large power sources on the top of the wing struts. The extremely high rate of fire on the high-powered disruptor cannons necessitated the use of two "static emitter arrays", or SEAs. The bright flashes of the excess electric arcs emanating from the SEAs and the heavy strobe effect of the disruptor cannons earned the TIE/cs the nickname "Blinder". Later models were given an anti-flash protective layer on the cockpit, as to not damage the pilot's eyes.
