  1. Hello I want to share my first MOC in many, many years. After building the official Saturn V set I was inspired to start building again. My first idea was to accompany my Saturn V with my childhood favourite rocket, the moon rocket from Tintin’s “Destination Moon”. I searched and found a lot of MOC’s of this rocket, but all of the were either too big or in the wrong proportions to fit my needs, so I ended up designing my own MOC. So here I present “The Moon Rocket”. It’s a pure digital build this far. I hope you like it. About the model In 1950, when space travel and journeys to the moon where still science fiction, Belgian cartoonist Hergé (Georges Remi) published the serialised version of what would become the two album Tintin adventure “Destination Moon”. Hergé was known for his sense of detail and perfection and put huge amounts of research behind this album to make it as accurate as possible. The adventure tells the story of a maned mission to the moon, something that was yet to be achieved in the 50´s. The vehicle that transported Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock and professor Calculus to the moon was a bright red painted, cigar shaped rocket with three large fins and a white checkered pattern around the mid-section. This rocket has become famous for its elegant design and is now synonymous with Tintin. The design is instantly recognised by millions of people which has read and loved the Adventures of Tintin over the decades. This model is a tribute to that rocket. The model is designed at a scale of 1:110, to match the official Lego Saturn V rocket. But scale is tricky with an imaginary rocket. Even if Hergé included a detailed drawing in the albums and built several scale models during the work with the album to get the pictures as accurate as possible, there is no official record of how tall the rocket is. To get a plausible length, I started out with the drawing in the album and concluded that it was possible that the drawing was made at a 1:300 scale. In combination with information from the book "Spaceship Handbook" (Jack Hagerty and Jon C. Rogers) and measurements from the album art, I ended up with a total length of 66 meters, including the antenna. At 1:110 scale, this makes the rocket model 60 cm (23.62 inches) tall. The model is made up of 1.575 Lego bricks. A display model This model is meant to be a display model only. The different sections of the rocket are held together by very few Lego pieces. The model will most likely hold together when standing upright but will very likely break apart if tilted or held horizontally.

    Who doesn't love the Moonbase Alpha Universe borns during the TVShow aired from 1975 to 1977 called "SPACE: 1999" and produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson creators of other cult series like the Thunderbirds and UFO. The eagles are iconic spacecrafts from the serie which I always wanted to build in Lego. Since few time Lego production give me the opportunity to get some parts which fit perfectly with the design of these.     [MOC] Moon-o-Rail Station

    This one was built almost two years ago (I lag behind a bit with publishing...) for a small exhibition held in Warsaw. We have built a city that had two areas - one a regular city and the other a Classic Space Moon base. There was a "monorail" train (actually using standard rollercoaster track) running through the town and connecting it via portals located in the mountain range with a Moon base. This is the station to go to if you wanted to get to the Moon, hence the name. I have also spent considerable amount of time to design and created some stickers, the most important of those being the following advert for the train (It reads "we connect tomorrow with today" in Polish): The station was 3 baseplates long, had the platform quite high with outside stairs leading to it, a lift at the back operated with a crank as well as stairs in the building for those wet days: Here you can have a look at the back of the building with the lift located at the far end: The idea for this station started with angled glass (inspired by some Warsaw buildings from the Soviet occupation era). This angled glass is best viewed when both the track and a platform is removed: BTW, the Wawlugowo name seen here is the name of the city, after WAWLUG - the name of our local LUG :) There are some more pictures on my Bricksafe page. It was my birthday this month. Don't ask me what went through my mind at the time, I don't know at all! I wanted to go back to childhood, because I have the impression of having aged. I had to straighten "the bar", lol ! Seeing these old Retro solar boats literally “blew my mind”. I never realized that a lot of anime from that era had a "strange spaceship" conception, transforming old 14-18th century ships / galleons with engines for space. Yet it was so obvious! And it was there, that suddenly, I remembered Jayce, Cobra, etc ... In short, I saw all the ships of the anime of that time scroll through my head, like a comet in front of my eyes (which booms crashing into my head). And no one had done this in Lego. At least I don't remember. In itself, the beginning of an idea or impression that smelled good, and / or had potential. It was the very beginning of the inspiration and brainstorming in my head for Lego Classic Space ! ================================== The concept : ================================== I did something unusual, non-conformism, eccentric, disconcerting and crazy at the same time. I make a double combination and double ration, animated 70-90 which it was the fashion of space ships and Lego Space Futurons 87-90. For a good Retro nostalgia I combined elements of the Azuris ship from « Message from space : galactic wars », the Cephalus ship from Star Fleet X-Bomber, Glory of the universe of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, and the Solaris of the Mysterious cities of Gold ! 2 periods 70-90 in 1! Part #44938 bionicle shield, with a "mechanical" aspect converted into an energy capacitor. Various parts of Droids (starwars) converted in the machinery and on the outer deck. Bionicle Shield #45275 converted into deflectors, on the deck of the ship. Kind of like "Viking ship/longship" shields. Big Trident Bionicle #40339 = excellent for large boat emblems in general. I used a slope technique for the sides of the hull. For the rear canopy in the hull, I used a SNOT technique with part #30249. ================================== Physical information : ================================== - 7,082 parts for 854 lots. - 2 weeks of brainstorming, intellectual reflection or "total blank" ...: passive or empty work. - 3 to 4 weeks of active work. - 60.8 studs width, 101.8 studs length, 78.7 studs height. - 48.7 cm width, 81.5 cm length, 63 cm height. - 5.77 Kg. ================================== Global : ================================== All Futuron figures, including the green Lego City minifigure and the lesser known "Educational & Dacta" minifigures. 9 crew members, 3 teams of 3 watch members. ================================== Exterior/outside: ================================== - Solar sails with 3 intermediate lookouts. They can rotate a bit. - Futuron logo, in stickers, on the sails. - 2 radars at the top of the masts. - Long electromagnetic barrel at the front. - 2 small laser cannon turrets at the front. - 2 large turrets at the rear, pulsed radius. - Wings with stabilizers at the end. - 2 small rotating turrets under the wings. - 4 landing feet. - Various elements of machinery on the deck of the Boat. - 8 deflector shields on the sides (Bionicle shield converted). - 2 large propulsion reactors. - Cockpit. ================================== Wheelhouse: ================================== - 1 captain / watch officer seat. - 1 seat Transmission of orders to machines. - 1 navigation control seat. - 1 communication control seat. - 1 alarm control seat. - Walkie-talkies, fans, fire extinguishers, binoculars, cups, etc. ================================== Interior/inside hull of the ship : ================================== - Small storage room at the front, with a ladder to grab onto the deck of the solar ship. - 6 beds with drawers below. - WC / toilet. - Sonic shower. - Kitchen / Cantina: sink, water, oven, cupboards, cups, bottles of food. - Table, bottles of food. - Machine room: control bar, control panel, turbines, fans, transformer, energy condenser, energy pressurizer, cooling circuit, heat transfer fluid, warning lights, ladder to climb to the cockpit, tool kit, tools behind the ladder. - Rear canopy - SAS by energy barrier. ================================== Conclusion: ================================== I built in a perspective of pseudo-realism, pseudo-likely and pseudo-consistency, with compromises with the Retro concept of the animated ones of the years 70-90's. I wanted something playable and fun at the same time. I had a lot of difficulty and trial and error, because I had never done a Lego boat. I worked several times until 4am ! I often work like this: as long as the inspiration is there, I must not lose it, and I work until I no longer see the time passing. But the opposite has also happened to me several times: several times the symptom of the "blank sheet" for 1 to 3 days, without knowing how I was going to build, find inspiration, think about the logic of the construction, etc. . This feeling of "emptiness", that you feel something is happening, and you have it on the tip of your tongue, but it does not come out! Annoying and horrifying sensation ! :) The inclination of the walls gave me intellectual problems. It took a long time to build the engine room. I had to redo it at least 3-4 times. I wanted a maximum of diversity and complexity at the same time. The confined space of the hull gave me difficulties: how to integrate "likely" elements in so little volume ? I have lost my hair several times. Just those damn shower and toilet, I had to spend 3 hours each, to do, undo and redo in all the sauces. Like a little monkey who tests all combinations.     [MOC] Mr Moon

    Here is Mr Moon: Wind the handle, Mr Moon will roll his eyes as another spaceship orbits him looking for a place to land… "Hooray, we’ve planted our flag!" Oh, looks like Mr Moon blew the flag down again! I'll be upfront, I did this for the ongoing LEGO IDEAS 'Out of this World Space Builds' contest. But, It wasn't always mechanised though, I agonised about my initial idea which was just going to be 'The man in the moon'. I thought I could do a simple Brick Sketches in homage to Chris McVeigh. I just felt that it lacked pizzazz! So I noodled about adding Classic Spacemen, and microfigures and flags, but it just felt like a perfunctory attempt. After talking with an artist mate of mine [a muggle or Noffler (Not A Fan oF LEGO) as I like to call them] I decided to try to add some form of movement. Here is a little video of the mechanism I eventually got to work in action: If the video doesn't play properly, it can be found here too (turn off sound though - my kids are doing homeschooling in the background!). I'm kicking myself a little because there was a prototype mechanism using the yellow racks I had and some more dbg and brown technic pieces that I appear not to have documented photographically :-( Someone on IDEAS has suggested adding the option of a cow to replace the spaceship with if you wanted and I love that idea. I'm close to the 250 part limit. Some trimming is possible in the part count of the mechanism I think owing to a lack of parts in my collection. I actually spent about £15 on a couple of Bricklink orders that included the black curved gear racks and a couple of bigger black plates. I'm going to have a play to see if I can figure something out... guess I'll be buying a cow sometime this week! I feel like I need a disclaimer, I realise I don't post much on Eurobricks, I'm more of a lurker here in the last few years (this was after I realised I was saying the same things in a few places!). I do feel bad for asking for support, but I really would appreciate the extra exposure sharing this here hopefully gives my submission. Please accept my apologies if you feel I'm being mercenary by posting this. For anyone who is willing to make a comment or lend support to my submission, my entry can be found here. Multifunction vehicle. It can be converted to Cargo, Passenger, Small Vehicles, Oxygen, etc. There are 6 modular blocks of 5x7 studs, which can be unclipped, can be put in the hold, and can be put in the order you want. Include a mixture. The roof can be unclipped. The 2 types of Vityaz DT have many military or civilian variants. Surely one of the most varied vehicles in the world, however crazy it is. Excavator version, passenger / troop transport version, ballistic missile version, freight transport version, radar station version in arctic base, amphibious version, crossing bridge version, forest transport version, tank version (yes yes, with 2 turrets!), Version snowplow, mobile laboratory version, gas / mining version (currently used by Gazprom), etc. We are on a monster which is not far from being 3 to 4 large cars wide depending on the version. I wanted to stay a little in this “multifunction” spirit for the MOC. Custom radar, with lots of sensors. Cockpit, with an articulated twin-arm / view of the seat. Lights on the roof to illuminate everywhere = in the tundra, at night, in the cold, in the blizzard, in a lunar environment, etc ... Also, I focused on the armored aspect, trying to homogenize the 2x2 tile base on the hull. (or close). I made a maximum of modularity, I could not decide on one type or another of vehicle. So I made it simple and complicated at the same time: all types at the same time, lol! It's better :) I could also have made a command vehicle, with lots of consoles and control panels. It is quite possible, thanks to the available space. There is no limit to the imagination when it comes to converting the vehicle. Make a presentable base. Shall we say, a 1st for me. Especially the effect of the caterpillars in the sand, and the Lettering (which I'm not used to). The roof can be unclipped. All with a playable and accessible aspect. (I remain in the mentality / the spirit that a Lego must be playable, solid, playful, modular)
  10. These two trains comprise my space-train fleet for the Nexus Force, one streamlined passenger train, and one generic freight train. You can see more the Nexus Force stuff in this thread here in the Space sub-forum. It features a modular base, trucks, crawlers, and several spaceships, along with the mini-figures. (human or otherwise!) The Moonlighter train is owned by the Nexus Force, and is a retro-futuristic stream-liner mix of old-school steam technology, but with hyper-modern safety features designed specifically for use by Nexus Force personnel as a very high-speed, high-security ground transport between the northern-most city of St. Nicklaus and north-pole-hugging outpost of Ice Station Odyssey, around 500 miles away. (this all takes places on the ice-bound planet of Beta Polaris, which orbits what we here call the North Star, far away from Earth.) Thus this makes it a space train! Unlike the slower Earth trains, the Moonlighter type of space-train is super-streamlined, and can go up to speeds of up to 110 MPH (135 is the loco's top possible speed) on it's special track, with super-elevated curves and long straight-away's over hundreds of miles, all while using Positive Train Control (PTC) on the the mostly double-track mainline, where all vehicle crossings are flyovers and switches virtually non-existent once out of St. Nicklaus city limits. This train runs along with nine other identical versions of this train (10 total trains in all) on the route with up to seven in running order on the route and at least two in the maintenance shed / in emergency backup storage at any one time. They are numbered 200 through 210. The Nexus Force logo on the nose of the Moonlighter streamlined casing, (near the smokestack) and the rear of the observation car, while the engine's number (207) goes under the cab windows. The two forward tanks are for oil, and the rear tank is for water. The engine is equipped with a water scoop (like on the old New York Central steam locomotives) for refilling the water tank on the fly. There is a ladder from the tender-top deck to the coupler level behind the engine for access to the trailing passenger cars, and two ladders on either side of the steam loco for entry into the enclosed control cab. Three of these passenger cars go on the Moonlighter, with two before the dome car and one immediately after it. The recessed panels are the platform doors. One of these vista-dome cars goes in the middle of the train. (You may have noticed there are no exterior platform doors on this car. I decided not to add them because they didn't look good with the dome.) The rear observation car is currently missing it's rear curved windows, but it will have them when built IRL. The Nexus Force logo goes on the rear of this car, as previously mentioned above. After 45-ton locomotive 2011 has arranged a freight train in the Nexus force spaceport's yard, a electric main-line loco has arrived on scene to pull it's train to the some 500+ miles distant city of St. Nicklaus. This larger locomotive is numbered 99, and is running with a mobile armored cannon unit for the journey ahead, as it runs through some areas that could be ripe for an ambush by enemy forces, as you never know where the Maelstrom might have agents in deep cover or have planted ambushes alongside the line. A train was derailed and attacked last month in Avalanche Canyon by pirates, which is why the railroad is taking no more chances while it's position is being currently fortified all along the route. The other cars being pulled are: a flatcar carrying Commander Bob's 1960's sports car (going for it's yearly tune-up in town), a fully-loaded gasoline tanker, bathtub gondola with ice boulder load, and a bay-window caboose for the train's rear-end crew and a few more soldiers... just in case! This orange and white electric locomotive was inspired by the preliminary version of set 60198. (2018 Freight train) The inside is accessible via the removable roof sections. This model was inspired by this armored train MOC, that was itself inspired by the movie "Castle in the Sky" and it's armored train therein. The road vehicle model is partially inspired by Lola the car from the TV show Agents of Shield. (although this one doesn't fly) The sports car doesn't have great off-road capabilities, so it has to be trucked in on a flatcar to the remote space base. This fuel tanker is filled with gasoline or diesel fuel for use in the space base's land vehicles. Usually two or three tanker cars are sent into the base every couple weeks for refueled the on-base supply. This bathtub gondola is filled with ice boulders that have frozen ancient lifeforms trapped inside. The Nexus Force is sending them to a specialist laboratory off-world to have the DNA decoded and the beings themselves studied. Due to height clearance issues in St. Nicklaus city, regular-height cupola caboose types are forbidden. So, the bay window type is used instead. This moon base-like space base model is where the Moonlighter travels to, and was inspired by set 60036 (Arctic Base Camp), with a rooftop shield generator partially lifted from set 75098 (Assault on Hoth) and a sensor array inspired by set 76157 (Wonder Woman VS. Cheetah) The base consists of eight separate, interchangeable, modular sections, all of which have opening roof / wall sections for ease of access. These sections include (but are not limited too): a common bunk room, a spaceship control tower, a fusion generator, communications room, break room, and several more. As you can see, I joined the base to the rail-line with a short siding for freight deliveries, and for the servicing of steam locomotives on services such as the Moonlighter.

    [NCS] Heavy Mobile Rocket Launcher

    [NCS] Heavy Mobile Rocket Launcher Do with LDD and Stud.io It's a mix that brings together the sets : - 462 Mobile Rocket Launcher - 483 Alpha-1 Rocket Base - 6881 Lunar Rocket Launcher - 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport at the same time, and bigger ! All these sets look more or less alike, or are just different variations depending on the version. Hence the idea of bringing them all together, in a 4 in 1, mastodon version. I used the 90 ° snot technique with the control consoles in the wall, in order to be able to accommodate as many control panels as possible and gain 2 additional horizontal studs. This allows me to put 4 crew members, their seats and a small passageway (narrowly) for them to move between the seats. The roof with the 2 radars unclips and the front canopy swivels, allowing accessibility. My only regret: not being able to put the 2 sides in blue (the back of the 2 console panels), because part N°11203 (flat Tile, Modified 2 x 2 Inverted) does not exist in this color. I had to settle for gray. I was amazed, myself, to have built it in just 3 days! Upon reflection, I think I understood why I did it in such a short time. I put this down to several things: -1/ I already had the basis of my NCS - City Mars Exploration - Heavy Mobile Lab, which had taken me a good 10 days. In addition to the experience of construction / internal arrangement of the vehicle. -2/ I already had the radar and the rocket, of my [NCS] 462-897- Mobile Rocket Launcher, Remastered, which took me 3-4 days. -3/ I already had the seats of my NCS - Heavy Transport -4/ I already had the wall consoles, from my NCS - Heavy Transport. (at least, retained my reverse construction technique) which had taken a hell of a lot of time, because I had to put a maximum of computer consoles in a minimalist space, and above all, at 90 ° and inverted in relation to the wall! (so damn technical difficulty in tearing your hair). Rear with articulated arm, 2 fire extinguishers, ore box, articulated arm control panel, 1 spaceman's hand tools, one antenna, 1 airtank. Front of the buggy with camera, sensors, binoculars, 2 walkie-talkies, a mini-satellite-antenna and control panel. I used the elements of my old constructions to keep it homogeneous. The radar cockpit rotates 360°, and the radar itself also rotates, 360°. The radar cockpit is quite worked with control screens everywhere, as well as small joysticks. A walkie-talkie, a hammer and an adjustable wrench hang on it.     [MOC] Tintin Moon Rocket

    10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ignition! Tintin needs no introduction really. Created by Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi (Hergé), Tintin is a reporter and adventurer who travels the world in search of adventure and stories. Over the course of the 20th century, Hergé drew a series of 24 comic books with Tintin as the protagonist. Two of the most fascinating are Objective: Moon (Objectif: Lune) and Explorers on the Moon (On a marché sur la Lune) which in the early 1950s showed what a Moon mission could look like, something that would not become a reality until some fifteen years later. One of the key elements of these albums was the rocket to the moon: the red-and-white V2-inspired machine is one that has captured the imagination of many (including me, of course ) Here's a little video of my rocket in motion: I tried to make the rocket itself move upwards, but I couldn't find a proper way of doing so without intersecting with the already moving clouds of smoke or destabilising the whole model. Truth be told, the clouds are pretty weak and as much as I would love to make instructions for the whole model, it's just way too flimsy for my lax standards to even approve. I'm planning though on making instructions for the rocket alone with a simple base, which is definitely secure enough. And pretty cheap too: I think it was somewhere along the 270-piece mark. This origniated from my father, who is huge Tintin fan. For his birthday earlier this March, I gifted him this kinetic sculpture of the famous rocket lifting off. The clouds of smoke move thanks to two simple camshafts, creating the illusion of the rocket really lifting off. Most are positioned parallel to one another except for the second-to-last row which is angled to give some more interest to the model. You can find a complete album on my Flickr and on my Instagram.

Hello all,I've been so excited for the release of LEGO's Saturn V Rocket that I have been slowly designing and constructing the mobile launch tower and crawler to create a more complete display look! I will admit, throughout the process I came across other folks creations (Eiffleman, Valerie Roche and Emmanuel Urquieta) and borrowed some of their designs/ideas to improve and implement into my creation. It does not have the cool playability features as theirs do! IMG_20170709_130956846 by Anthony Foss, on FlickrThe crawler is built off the pictures sent into Lego Ideas by Eiffleman. I had to reinforce the crawler to support the weight of the tower. The crawler essentially collapsed under the pressure of the tower and rocket positioned on top the first go around :)The tower is a relatively easy build. Each of the levels is essentially the same. For the white piping running up the front side of the tower I used a flexible rubber hose, similar in diameter to the rigid pneumatic tubing LEGO uses (saved a little bit of money). Stability becomes and issue the higher you build. It works but not as sturdy as I would like. A solid base is a must. The catwalks are a lot of torque on the tower than it seems. This building was originally the Brick City Depot Winter Village - Victorian House model, while the car is inspired by Carl Greatrix's Rolls Royce Phantom Mk II, remade to look like a MOON motor car from around the mid-1920's. I removed the original house model's snow-and-sloped-plate roof, added a back half with stairs to the upper story, plus a revamped color scheme from medium blue and white to reddish brown, green, and white. Their is even a new front porch for lazy Summer days. The model is of the swing open type, complete with locking Technic pin to keep the model closed. The rear of the model features the chimney flue. The inside of the model features most of my standard details, such as a stove (which is supposed to look like it's hooked into the chimney), couch, vintage phonograph, table with lamp, curio cabinet, and twin-size bed. I have even included a grandfather clock to complete the early 1920's look. This car was originally a Rolls Royce Phantom Mark-II that got transformed into a MOON Touring car. (no, the the jalopy from the Apollo Moon missions, but a vehicle built in St. Louis, Missouri by the Moon Motor Car company) once I realized how close they were to each other in style cues. I guess I did the usual car building process backwards: build the car, then find a real life counterpart, instead pf building the car off a specific type. The rear of the car features the spare tire and license plate. This vehicle can seat one driver mini-figure. The LDD file for both car and house is available here.   20. Get ready to blast off into the unknown vastness of outer space! This model was inspired by set 3831, (Rocket Ride, from the 2008 Spongebob line) albeit with a pointier nose cone, and gray color scheme. The model now has a enlarged engine section with longer tail fins and four more engines, along with a crew of two humans and a robot helper. One of the human astronauts can even be seated in the fold-open cockpit. (The below story line is 100% fiction.) This ship is the forerunner for all of the other Lego space ships: in 1969, this crucial piece of history launched from LegoLand Space Port for a mission to the moon. This was very soon after the failed 1965 launch of 801-series Space Rocket, which killed the the brave crew of Kat Aclysm: female rocket science genius and designer of the experimental ship, and Abraham "Abe" Normal, the best test pilot in the academy. Their deaths at the Samsonite launch pad were not in vain though, as the newly founded LegoLand Aero-Space Authority (renamed Classic Space Command in 1978) rebuilt their reputation as the premier brick-built space agency by launching the "Innovator", also known as LL002 which in early August 1969 made history as the first mini figure - built object on the moon! This rocket and it's crew (Bill Fold, Penny Wise, and S1L-V3R the robot) made history with their two days on the moon's surface, providing the foundations for the Classic Space Moon-base series of missions. The model without the figures The model now has a enlarged engine section with longer tail fins and four more engines. The rocket features an opening section to get at the interior which now only consists of the cockpit. The model was too weak in real life when the whole thing opened up, so I was forced to solidify every section to keep it from falling apart. The trans-clear windscreen part should have this print. The crew of this fateful mission was commander Bill Fold and scientist Penny Wise, along with their robot helper S1L-V3R. (nicknamed Silver) The robot is inspired by the robot customer in the 2007 set number 4981 (another Spongebob set called The Chum Bucket), while the astronauts were inspired by the Sandy Cheeks mini-figure in set 3831. The mini-figures should feature this torso print. MISSION NOTES: Here is the inspirational set 3831, courtesy of Brickset... ...and here is the original real life version of the rocket.   23. The Apollo Program is a key part of the history of space exploration. The most famous missions were the Apollo 11 (first manned moonlanding) and Apollo 13 (that inspired the movie starring by Tom Hanks). This LEGO project includes: Apollo Spacecraft Command and Service Module (Apollo CSM). The model can be separated into its command module and the service module. The Command module has a hatch (that can be opened) and fits 3 astronauts inside (included). The CSM comes with a stand that fits the spacecraft. Lunar Module. This is the spacecraft used for the moon landing. It can be separated in the ascent module (upper part) and descent module (lower part). The ascent module can be opened and fits two astronauts. Lunar Roving Vehicle.It was an electric-powered vehicle designed to operate in the low gravity of the Moon, and allowed the Apollo astronauts to extend the range of their surface extravehicular explorations. The LRV was populary known as the "moon buggy". Three LRVs were driven in the Moon: in the Apollo 15 mission during 1971, and Apollo 16 and Apollo 17 during 1972.   24. I made this Scarab SRV (Surface Recon Vehicle) from the video game Elite Dangerous: Horizons. It is built to Minifigure scale, and contains over 450 bricks. I hope you like it. Feedback is very welcome ofcourse. (Also I added it to ideas.lego too, if you fancy supporting it https://ideas.lego.com/projects/134382) Main Features Two Commander Minifigures - male and female. Movable side boosters - used for jumping over obstacles and ravines, and for self-righting if the vehicle gets stuck upside down after a tumble. Movable top mounted turret with twin-plasma-repeaters for mining minerals, for self-defence, and for data-link transmission. Headlights (x6), brakelights (x2) and reverse light (x1). Twin wavescanner probes at the front of the cockpit, for locating interesting objects. Two salvaged cargo cannisters - the generic blue/grey type. They often just contain tea, but hopefully these ones are full of gold! A spooky black "Unknown Artifact" - no-one knows why these mysterious alien objects started appearing near the "Merope" star system, or why they emit such creepy sounds ... So what is a Scarab SRV? It is a one-person buggy, designed for exploring remote rocky and icy worlds in high or low gravity. It can easily achieve speeds of over 85mph on flat terrain, and is great for doing skids, donuts and low-gravity-somersaults. It can carry two standard cargo units, and can scoop up minerals and resources from planet surfaces. In the game it looks like this, and features in this game trailer.
