Lego Monkie Kid is crossing over with Batman (Kinda)

So.... There's a new DC comic where a teenager takes on the mantle of The Monkey King, becoming The Monkey Prince. The story, set at least partly in Gotham City, features The King Bull Demon, Shifu Pigsy, Nezha, Red Boy, Princess Iron Fan etc.. I'm cautiously hoping it does well and expands on the Monkie Kid lore, hopefully making The Journey To The West more popular in America and Europe etc, so Lego may release the Monkie Kid sets in more places and continue with further seasons of the show so that season 4/the next special isn't necessarily the end of MK's animated adventures. Here is my video on the latest safari sub-theme 60300 Wildlife Rescue ATV: THE GOOD: Turning action works surprisingly well. Includes not one but TWO monkeys. The new monkeys are cute. New printed pieces. THE NOT SO GOOD: May be include a hair piece for the minifigure? Wish the monkeys can hold their poops. Overall, I think this is a great small set and a great way to get the new monkeys in a very cheap way. In fact, I appreciate LEGO includes not one but TWO monkeys in this set. It also comes with 2 pieces of poops too XD. Unfortunately, the monkeys can't hold the poops. The ATV though is a nice surprise, the turning action works surprisingly well, I'm pretty sure this will be utilised more in the upcoming stunts sub-theme. Also, I love the printed drone control as well. Really can't fault this set, recommend to everyone =)

Hello, I finally finished this project. It´s an orang-utan with baby. It took me quite some time to build. It was challenging to sculpt the ape and the posture is difficult to ballance. Unfortunately there are not many individuals left of the real ones.

Hello, I finally finished something new. A white-faced capuchin from Central America. A lifesize model. I am actually busy with a much larger primate project. I built this one during a necessary pause. I have to admit, that it took more time than I expected.

Hi all Pirates and LEGO fans! I share with you my latest MOC called the Big Small Imperial Bastion. I just wanted to create a playable bastion to use with the very nice Pirates of Barracuda Bay set. Hope you'll like it. Any comments are welcome. View form behind. Mmh... It seems the monkey stole something from the Captain's office. Door is open on purpose for this picture. One of A Kind Ship MOC: "Barracuda of the BLACK Seas!!!"

After 113 years of development (that's right, before the release of lego), I present to you a MOC which could possibly revolutionize the lego industry as we know it. "Simplicity" must be the first word that strikes your mind when seeing, but alas, if you look closely you will notice a string. That's correct, but that isn't any string, it's A CORD and I used a truly spectacular method of creating a knot only the greatest minds of this generation would begin to comprehend. ee554e016dd55577db957e4f44cd6230 by The Neighborhood Merchant, on Flickr Enough blabbering. Here's our next piece. Yes, it's a rudder, but perhaps the first-ever moving rudder presented to us by an intellectual (me of course). To create this ingenious design, I used a clip and attached it to some handles. After 1.3 years of thought, (after achieving transcendence) I was able to imagine the perfect layout for this room, a treasure chest, a goblet, and a map. These are all necessities that we all have in our rooms so I figured a pirate captain would have them. Take another second to bask in the glory of this MOC, take your time please as many before you have fallen trying to take this all in. I've also included a board that can be used to recreate the Gollum scene from LotR. Took around 1.3 Trillion seconds, but that was the easy part. The difficulty was in getting lego to custom make a new rigging piece for me, because I couldn't keep tying those "truly spectacular method of creating a knot only the greatest minds of this generation would begin to comprehend" knots all day. 2a1b43b71130ee6545b384dbf1bfae2a by The Neighborhood Merchant, on Flickr And lastly, the greatest piece: the figurehead. This may look like a normal minifigure to you, but I assure you it was created using the most prestigious tactics. I traveled in space to NASA's Jupiter Juno Probe to infiltrate and "borrow" it's minifigures (I suggest you look it up if you haven't already), then proceeded to melt them down to craft this figurehead mold. Shhhh don't tell NASA! So what'd you think? I hope it wasn't too much for you to enter another dark age, but please, contact me anytime if you'd like to become an apprentice. Ahoy, I wanted to get back to my beloved monkey-topic. For starters, this is my MOC "Monkey and Pirate" I hope this monkey statue is not too terrifying... Then I have been gathering some information on the field which I would like to share with you, because some guys have done extraordinary work in the field of "Monkeys and Pirates". I have included links when "Other People's MOCs" (OPMOCs) have been referred to (not posting them). [i hope that this is not violating the forum's etiquette.] On Monkey-Driven-Design & Pirates Ever since "6270 Forbidden Island" came out in 1989 monkeys have been a part of the Lego Pirates Theme (even more prominently in "6235 Buried Treasure" also in 1989). http://www.1000stein...ages/6235-1.jpg They have fought for treasure, sailed the seven seas and wreaked havoc wherever possible in search of gold and bananas. This inspired me to my approach of "monkey-driven design" (not to be confused with model-driven design) and I have tried to include monkeys in one way or another in all of my models. But luckily, I am not alone in this. So I would like to take the opportunity to take a look around at who is building dioramas with monkeys in them. One thing that caught my eye sometime back was this creation by Rod Gilles called "In The Temple of the Monkey God": https://www.flickr.c...57629385196613/ It's a bit sinister but excellent nevertheless. 166C Ahoy, today it is my great pleasure to present to you something I find nice and funny: The HMS Royal Monkey. It looks like a normal vessel. but if you take a close look, you will find signs of monkey-driven-design And you will find a few guests that have joined Captain Braunsfeld on his journey. Kurigan, sorry, I don't have the exact torso... The key point, however, is the Royal Monkey himself: :pir_laugh2: (Those of you more interested in historical accurateness might want to look at the lanterns instead. And the rudder is actually working!!!) I had a lot of fun building this. I hope you will be able to enjoy it too! By the way, it takes an awful lot of bricks to build a lego-sky-background... :pir-grin: :pir-grin: I am looking forward to your feedback!

[pid][/pid] 161C Hello, it's me again. This time I would like to present to you a ship that I've built some time back: The Prince Ian-Lucas. At that point in time I was building ships without knowledge of the existence of Captain Greenhairs Tutorial. So, my approach was to use slopes to make the ship look right. Its a modular build, so I can take off the top elements and allow access to the lower decks. This is the Dutch crew: (in red: Cornelius Drebbel) As you can see I have attempted to make every part of the ship accessible to the crew. This is why I had to spend an extra door here at the rear (and staircases somewhere else, etc.): (that was an earlier picture before the ship was actually finished - pls note the monkey ) Some more views: Overall, the ship turned out to be quite stable, easy to transport and store away. My later attempts have not always had these three qualities. Would I change it now, having advanced in a few areas? Yes, of course My MOCs are never done... One question remains for the experts: What type of ship is that? Is it a galleon? A monster of a sloop? A too small ship of the line?

[pid][/pid] 245B Dear all, I am very happy to present to you another example of monkey-driven design: The Palace "Jaune Banane": It is a modular build - heavily inspired by what I have seen in and around Vienna. And I managed to include some monkey statues (which I am really proud of). I managed to include some nice interior work: And it is modular: It is actually not so easy to capture this well: This time the MOC comes without a story. I hope you enjoy it! (I am working on the palace gardens, etc., so there will be additions coming up soon).

This is a fun little experiment of mine that I've been working on for quite a while. Anyone remember the BIONICLE Master Builder Set? Well, I've been exploring the possibility of something similar based on the Hero Factory building system. So far, I've come up with seven models that can be built from seventy-seven pieces. All images link to Flickr: Dog: Monkey: Hawk: Kangaroo: Turtle: Gorilla: Raptor: Each of these models contains between twenty and thirty pieces. The only piece that I used that does not already appear in sets in the correct color is a black rubber whip (61975) which I used for the monkey's tail. Inventory: Anyone think this merits a LEGO Cuusoo proposal? Or is it too much of a long shot?

So (drum roll) here it is: The Temple of the Monkey God. :laugh: How did we come up with this? It all started with a few monkey statues that my (older) son and I developed. Then it made sense to find a place for them. This is why you will find three different types of monkey statues. .. and there is a secret treasure hidden within the main statue: (what else could it be?) Actually, I could still combine it with some minifigs from the latest series. As usual, a MOC is never done. I hope you like this - we're working on more monkey stuff! Yours Captain Braunsfeld

Take a flight to the most distant galaxy in the Banananaship! Escape human pursuers or take them on with state of the art lasers and technology! Nothing will stop any monkey once he gets his hand on the controls! Dual missiles and reinforced yellow plating insures maximum protection for our little friend! Features detachable front perfect for spying on any pesky animals or humans! Well, this took me longer than I wanted it too, but I'm pretty happy with the result, especially since it's only my second Sci-Fi build! Comments and criticisms are appreciated!

In the late 50's a team of researchers created a species of hyper-intelligent monkey. These primates, capable of advanced speech, and solving complex logical puzzles, were left in an enclosure in a rocky barren wasteland. The scientist wanted to see if the sapient animals could create a primitive culture without any human influence. The information about this experiment was found over 50 years later in early 2011. Although almost positive about the fact that the monkeys had died out years before, the U.S government sent an expedition to find this "lost monkey civilisation . The results were not what they expected. The monkeys, more adapt to cooperation than us humans, had built an advanced, peaceful civilisation. The humans wondered at the amazing buildings buit on stilts (the monkeys had an unexplainable urge to live high above ground), advanced electronics, and high standard of living. Gigantic farms were built under glass domes, and iron was mined from places humans never knew of. Humanity was shocked. They were jealous of the monkeys' advanced technology, and peaceful ways. They were afraid that the monkeys would break out of the wasteland, and destroy humanity. To prevent this from happening they corrupted the monkeys. Taught them of war and power. Sold them weapons. Told them not to be content, and lust for others wealth. Within a year the monkey town had decayed into a dystopian nightmare. Warlords fought each other. The once beautiful buildings fell into disuse. Crime ruled the streets, and no monkey was happy evermore... The main building. Yes, thats a banana on the billboard. Da Monkee'.
