  1. Dear all, inspired by an old times toy I have create my entry for the MINI Contest. It is a ladybird that "never" falls of the table (quite adrenalin with a brick build version ) . Model consists of 200 parts (including the brick built key).Features: 1WD differential (a bit crazy feature for a ladybird) pullback motor unfoldable wings will not fall of the table (hopefully never) LXF file - pullback motor and one rubber band is missing there since they are not available in the LDD. Here is image of whole mechanism: And finally a video of the model in action: I hope you like it and it will at least inspire you to create also some crazy creation for the contest. Thank you. Martin
  2. Ok, I don't expect to win the competition with this as it is, but I've only just started. I added a pullback motor because it makes it much more fun to play with if it drives by itself. The steering is good, and connected to an easy access gear. I didn't gear up the pull back for longer drive time because it's a racer, and it needs speed, but offroad so it needs torque Please give me some suggestions, because I need some extra features to put in this.
  3. Being only a recent AFOL, this is my first studless MOC. In fact, I have very little studless parts (just recently bought some) so halfway building this I found "woops, never have enough parts to get this done". So in the end I just decided to make something as big as possible using as little parts as possible (47 not including rubber band, could be reduced to 41 without giving up anything using pole reverser handles instead of the angled connectors+2L axles), very minimalistic. It's a simple stratosphere. Here is the list of functions: Just the one. It's second function is the capability of disqualifying itself because of the use of a household rubber band. [edit] Second version. 76 parts! Could come down quite a bit by removing some POOP (Parts I made Out of Other Parts), but that would have to wait for the next BL order. [/edit] Early version with 47 parts: If you wonder why the center liftarms are 1x13 instead of 1x15 or why the gondolas require a lot of imagination to be seen as such, I pretty much just ran out of suitable parts. It could easily be made much bigger using not too many parts, if one were to make this concept using the maximum of 200 parts this thing would be massive. If you like it, feel free to copy the concept. I'm not sure I'll even make a much better one.
  4. So far less than 120 bricks including pendular axle, steering and functional arm and bucket. My inspiration is a caterpillar 988. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c-95KaV57U&feature=youtu.be Sound track my wife eating and my 2 months son sleeping.
  5. This is work in progress topic for my possible entry: Technic remake of the classic 6989 Mega Core Magnetizer. At the moment part count is 222. Functions: 3 levers on rear which fully control crane arm. Crane pan left/right Crane tilt up/down Crane zoom forward/backward Simple steering Openable cabin For now I am not satisfied how the cabin window looks. This is the hardest part to mimic because the original Magnetizer has the iconic trans neon yellow cabin window. Original Magnetizer for reference :)
  6. Hello everybody , very happy to introduce you to my new MOC! Title: Mini ausrada The number of components: exactly 200 Function introduction: use a pull back motor Here are some photos about the MOC: Here is the Parts image
  7. Here is my (WIP) entry. Not much subtlety here - one very simple function! Basically it is a pull-back motor and two "devastator" wheels, with three boat weights for balance. Plus I decided to blow about two-thirds of the parts on some rather unusual styling. Just under 200 parts at the moment - details of styling might change slightly. Video coming soon...
  8. Hi, This is my entry for the Mini Model Competitions 2014, this is my first MOC on heavy eauipment model. Feature : - Total 164 parts. - Modern design in a simple way. - Smooth track movement - 1 functions : movable plow (up/down) Please vote if you like the model. Thank You. Part List The MOC
  9. Hello everyone, Thought I would share my creation with you, tho I'm not sure if it will be my official entry into the competition, really depends if I get anymore time. Well its a micro bulldozer, and the idea was to build the smallest moc I could with movements (wouldn't call the functions really ) The front can rise lower, tilt from to/fro and tilt from side to side. The track move if you push it along on a rough surface like a low carpet. That's about it really not sure on the part count but well under 200. :) Comments are more than welcome. Cheers
  10. Hey! i just want to present you my entry for the [mini] technic build contest. It's my mini technic ladder, consisting of exactly 200 parts (199 ldd count, 200 because of turntable assembly) The functions are: steering stabilizers tilting the ladder turntable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyNeCq6gves A picture of the parts will come soon. Greetz, Hypo
  11. 'Ello, been a while since I've posted here A good way to break this absence with my WIP Robinson R22. I've always loved that heli, and this contest has given me the boost to attempt to make it. It features a fake engine, connected to the rotors. The front bodywork is pretty much done, but I fear I've already exceeded the parts limit :p https://imgur.com/1w8uDE9 Bottom section - nothing special here. Haven't finished that second 'thingymabob' yet. https://imgur.com/TFiLotx Front view. Something about the front section doesn't look right to me - Don't know what it is - Perhaps it's how wide it is. https://imgur.com/zHPvMqE Rear view. I really like this, the engine is showing, like the real thing, and, the rotor turning hand knob is put onto the engine fan thingy :p Used those system curved bits to get the shape just right https://imgur.com/fG0GJ5a Side profile Picture resizing may not work, but I'm praying for the best. EDIT Nope, i'll use these imgur links 'till i get the opportunity to resize properly. Apologies for the hassle it causes. More pics to come, - or, even stripped down model if I exceed the limit :p Gonna have a good ol' count. Depending on the result of this, decides if I'm gonna strip down, or add the rear section :p -Enderman
  12. my entry for the mini contest is the little big monster. it features two pendular axles and allwheel steering by hand of god the part count will follow when i have made the ldd file edit: 177 parts
  13. Small lawn mower MOC with AWD and steering (will have more features when done), few pics

  15. [Review] 30247 ARC-170 Starfighter (mini) Details: Ages 6-12 RRP: N/A Parts: 58 (approx) Introduction: There are lots of disadvantages about living in the UK; the climate, the weather, winter and endless congestion to name just a few, but just occasionally it’s all worthwhile. For some reason we seem to get a free Lego promotion a couple of times a year via one of the national newspapers. And yes, you’ve guessed it, this week we have another selection including the new ARC-170 Starfighter. This is the second Star Wars polybag that’s included in the promotion; I’ve already made a review of 30246 (Imperial Shuttle) which you can see here. The bag: Standard size polybag, with the new slightly scary looking Darth Vader. Personally I prefer it to the previous (Yoda) version, and seems to compliment most of the sets I’ve seen. The Starfighter is flying over an unknown planet and, as you’d expect, is firing at an unseen foe. I like the colours and it’s just as good as the Imperial Shuttle. Part selection: A total of 58 (ish) including around 3-4 spares. A nice selection of parts which I’m sure would be appreciated by most builders. As with the shuttle there are lots of smaller parts, but it includes a few dark-red and black bits which I’m sure I can find a use for. Instructions: Standard format for polybags, it’s a bit smaller than A4 and double-sided. The model is built in 19 separate sections and is quite fun considering the small size, a maximum of 5 minutes effort. It’s a little more complicated than the shuttle, but most adults should be able to cope! I’ve included both sides just incase you wanted to replicate it via your parts bin. The result: It’s a nice little model and a good replica of the original. However, it’s very nose heavy and I had to hastily construct a stand for the photo. It’s a bit of a shame really, I can see younger fans being upset by this; to be honest the min X-Wing we had a few years ago was far superior. Apart from that I can’t really fault it, especially considering the price point... I got this for 60p, including a nice paper to line my recycling bin with. Summary: Cost: 5/5 – A total bargain Parts: 4/5 – A nice selection of parts, including some dark-red and black Build: 4/5 – Moderately interesting, although a bit fiddly at times Model: 3/5 – Instantly recognisable, surprisingly detailed for such a small set Balance: 1/5 – Good fun to swish, but very nose heavy. Overall 17/25 or 68% if you prefer.
  16. [Review] 30246: Imperial Shuttle (mini) Details: Ages 6-12 RRP: N/A Parts: 59 Introduction: There are lots of disadvantages about living in the UK; the climate, the weather, winter and endless congestion to name just a few, but just occasionally it’s all worthwhile. For some reason we seem to get a free Lego promotion a couple of times a year via one of the national newspapers. And yes, you’ve guessed it, this week we have another selection including the new Imperial Shuttle. To be honest, it’s never going to be a UCS 10212, but for 60p (the cost of the paper) I’m really quite impressed. So what do you get for such a reasonable investment, read on and find out.... The bag: Standard size polybag, showing the Shuttle in it’s glory, which is actually quite similar to the UCS version thinking about it! The landing platform and dish were the only highlights of Endor for me, but moving on... Part selection: A total of 57 (ish) including two spares. Nothing that amazing, but a nice mix of useful parts. Instructions: Standard format for polybags, it’s a bit smaller than A4 and double-sided. The model is built in 13 separate sections and is quite fun considering the small size, a maximum of 5 minutes effort. I’ve included both sides just incase you wanted to replicate it via your parts bin. The result: Bearing in mind this was essentially free (I use the paper for my recycling bin) I can’t fault it. It’s quite an interesting build and is instantly recognisable. The model is quite sturdy, and great fun to swoosh. Highly recommended if you haven’t got the space for a larger version! Summary: Cost: 5/5 – A total bargain Parts: 4/5 – Nothing special but a good selection of different elements Built: 3/5 – Not bad considering the limited size Model: 3/5 – Instantly recognisable, surprisingly detailed Overall 15/20 or 75% if you prefer.
  17. Who could resist a challenge to build an icon? This brick Mini Cooper may be only eight studs wide, but it was a real challenge to retain the distinctive grille, sloping headlights, contoured hood and sporty essence in a build of this size. Built as a commissioned piece for a special birthday girl, this Mini Cooper used more than 280 parts and took two months to design. Please share this if you like it!

    [LDD MOC] mini parisian restaurant

Hi all, This is my second mini modular, after the mini palace cinema I posted a few months ago. I just cant wait to see the actual parisian restaurant, which looks like the best modular building lego ever released. What do you think of it ? Edit : V2.0 :)
  19. Hi everyone, I present you here my latest MOC : A Mini A-Wing and its 4x4 vignette. The vignette could be te city of the Executor, or the surface of the Death Star II or of a Star Destroyer. Technically, it is not difficult : the sides, the front, the reactors, the cockpit are attached thanks to two bricks 1x1 with 4 knobs. The vignette uses plates modified, plates with grille, bars. The proportions are bad, especially on the back, but all the elementsof an A-Wing are there. Because of the size, I cannot incude all the characteristical shapes of that starfighter, but it is not a huge problem. This A-Wing does not look bad for a Mini, it has a kind of "chibi" look. Because the modes is elevated with a 1x4 bar, in some perspectives, you have the impression that it really flies, which is a quite sympatic. For bigger photos, the Bricksafe and the Brickshelf gallery of the MOC. Don't hesitate to give suggestions or to share your opinion about it.

    My Mini Playground

I love dynamic creation. This is built for a local exhibition organized by HKLUG. Though I have very limited time to build it, I am quite pleased with the outcome. The video clip:

    [mini MOCs] AT-TE & LAAT/s

I am not a big fan of the prequel trilogy but I couldnt resist to give a try on the brick masters mini builds, however due to the unavailability of some bricks and esthetical purposes, I made several improvements over the oficial design. 24. As I was inspired to build in microscale by toomuchcaffeine's (alas, now former ) Cuusoo project of micro Star Wars scenes (pictures here), it has always been my intention not to not just make vehicles. I wanted to give them a setting, to make a diorama with just a few pieces. Maybe there are more to come, but anyway I present here to you my first micro scene. [MOC] The Tiny Pit of Carkoon by Bert.VR, on Flickr Yes, I know. It's not a giant diorama that that epic scenes deserves (and has got), but still, I'm quite fond of it. The Sarlacc itself is the starting points. Add together 2 LEGO Friends hand mirrors/beac, 6 wild west horns/tentacles, 1 Technic turntable/teeth and some binoculars, clips and a dozen of SNOT bricks to make it bind, and voilà, there's your micro Sarlacc. Due to all the SNOT involved in this centerpiece, the build turned out quite complicated as a whole. Adding the curves to simulate dunes at an ofset didn't really help, but at least it gave a decent aesthetical effect. If you're more of an expert in the MOCcing cuisine, you can try to prepare the Sail Barge, as that's a quite complex recipe to follow. The distinct snout is hard to replicate in any scale of LEGO. You have to get the slope viewed from the side, and the curve viewed from the top. So you have to choose your ingredients - err... parts - very well. After using all kinds of pieces I had never heard of before (like Indian wigs, bizarre Hero Factory pieces, trays and bowls...) two rather ordinary (no offence) bow pieces (part 64225) seemed to deliver the right taste. Combining these with straight slopes and shields (O, I do love those!) gave what I was aiming for. The problem was keeping it together, and fitting it in with the rest of the dish - err... model. Some dirty tricks (no bricks were harmed, during the making of this model) gave a satisfactory result, though some gaps were left, I admit. [MOC] The Tiny Pit of Carkoon by Bert.VR, on Flickr To garnish your creation, you can't go without some Desert Skiffs. To be in scale, they had to be really tiny, even for my standards . It was hard to come up with an accurate and - even more important - pretty solution. In the end, I took the advise of "less is more" seriously for once and stayed with one piece, and one piece only. The Rescue can (part 90395) that had proven to be unsuitable for the main course (the Sail Barge) turned out to be just the right part for the job. All you have to do then, is to tell everybody not to notice the gaps, and to present your creation nicely. To evoke the dessert of Tatooine (pun intended), a chaotic and rough edge seems appropriate, especially since you don't want to cover up all those offsets you introduced earlier on... [MOC] The Tiny Pit of Carkoon by Bert.VR, on Flickr This model is best served rendered with LDD2POV-Ray, and with a long text alongside it. I wish you all a humble bon appetit. Please let me know how it tastes. If you have remarks about the spicing, please do tell me. Then I will fetch you some salt and pepper. (in other words: C&C welcome and appreciated)

    [MOC] Nano Modular Buildings

Hello The Modular Buildings are one of the most popular Sets by TLC. I rebuild most of them in my own Style, a bit less than the normal: A work of mostly laying instead of building. Jonas
