  1. To cerebrate LEGO's unveiling of 'The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier' #76042 designed by Marcos Bessa, I decided to design a smaller model of the Helicarrier (It only contains 58 pieces.) (MOC) Mini X-Wing Display

Continuing my habit of making displays for my poybags, here is my display for my Mini X-Wing Fighter As you can see, it holds it up quite well And let me try out a new way of making a space background I hope you like it! And, remember, comments are always appreciated!
  3. Hi to all! Proud to present you my latest MOC… ops, sorry, my latest MOD! First I have to thank MajklSpajkl that made an awesome MOC, but he has also made my work possible, so I decided to put some link to his creation: original topic, (where you can find instructions)second here is my MOD: important pieces I've add: -lipo BB (same size of the AAA one) -M motor -L motor -receiver -16M axle (EDIT ) -yellow shocks -U-joint I built this in more or less 30 minutes but it is a really funny creation! is has also a particular return-to-center steering based on an old force: GRAVITY! how it works it is simple (hope I can explain it as simple as it is ahaha): the car has an high caster angle, this angle auto-center the wheels while running forward, I've put the M motor directly linked to the steering 5,5 axle and it works well! in fact when the motor move the steering it forces the mechanism so when you release the command this elastic force make the motor turning back more or less at the center, it is not important that it is perfectly centered, because the high play of the steering make the caster angle center it with more accuracy :3 here are some photos (it has different colors because i've not built it from the two original set)
  4. After building the Gaz 66 truck, I went for a slightly longer truck, an 8x8. I tried to replicate the Finnish military truck Sisu E11T just because the wheelbase is long enough, the bodywork is definitely not very accurate though. The length of the u-joints would make it very hard to make it shorter with this design. Axles 1 and 2 are pretty much the same as the front axle of the Gaz, but this one uses 4 19L flex axles for leaf springs, because 8 shorter flex axles would not fit. Features 8wd with 1 L motor 4 wheel steering with an M motor 4 leaf sprung live axles Video: Suspension test: LDD file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3uQRNR6UbBWeU5tc0lDU2ZGQTQ/view?usp=sharing
  5. A long, long time ago, back when the [MINI] Technic contest was being run, I decided to build an entry, which would have been a replica of the Lampson International LTL-2600 crane, which was, for a time, the largest mobile crane in the world. My model was actually more inspired by it, and is not a straightforward replica. The primary reason why I did not enter this was due to the fact that, at least according to LDD, I had 230 pieces in it, even though I myself counted only 200. This model also had some major construction flaws, which will be detailed later. This thing's been sitting around forever, and I just want to post it so that I can take it apart. So, without further ado, here it is. Lego Lampson LTL-2600 by Saberwing007, on Flickr Eagle eyed viewers may note that it is not blue, but red. Well, the truss pieces are only available in black, gray, and red, and I only had them in red, so that dictated the color scheme. I guess that would make it more like a Manitowoc crane, but I digress. The crane features, like the real thing, luffing of the main boom, hoist, 2 independent crawler units, 3 cabs, and a large counter weight. My model also has a feature that I don't think the real crane has, but many similar ones do, and that is adjustable radius, which will be shown below. Front Cabs by Saberwing007, on Flickr Rear Cabs by Saberwing007, on Flickr My model, as mentioned above, has 3 cabs, 2 for driving, and one for the crane operations. Even though this thing would be very slow, maybe topping out at 2 miles per hour, having two people driving could be an absolute nightmare. There's probably a good reason for this configuration, but I cannot think of it. The pictures show how the radius can be adjusted, although the real crane can not do this. Minimum Radius by Saberwing007, on Flickr Maximum Radius by Saberwing007, on Flickr The last two pictures show how the winces are configured, and how far down the crane can luff. Winches by Saberwing007, on Flickr Maximum Reach by Saberwing007, on Flickr Finally, the major structural flaw I alluded to earlier: Some connection in the turntables is not that sturdy, so the crane lists pathetically to one side or the other. Leaning by Saberwing007, on Flickr As a last thing, here is an LDD render of what this machine would look like in blue, if the parts existed. 6. Hi there, This is my entry's progress. I decided to make a small scale machine with some details (hopefully). It has 153 parts so far. I am not happy with some parts and looks so its open to improvements :) Features a differantial, 2 piston fake engine, that thing we always see behind a tractor (?) :), rotating handle bars. Here is one example of a two wheel tractor that I am inspired from: And here are some lame pictures of the progress :) : That is all for now I guess. Nim

  9. Hi! Since I started to play Spintires I have wanted to build the Ural 4320 truck. I just added an extra axle to my mini rock crawler (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107051&hl=), to make it fit the proportions almost perfectly. I haven't started building the body yet, which I may need some help with

    [MOC] Mini-Y-Wing & Mini-ISD

I'm putting a Planet Series mobile back together for a Spring LUG event and decided to update my previous Y-Wing and add an ISB to the mix. There's a lot of inspiration from other builders in the Y-wing especially (from Miro Dudas in particular X-wing Y-Wing Redux by Miro78, on Flickr)I hope y'all like them. Please leave suggestions for improvements. Mini-Y-Wing by goatman461, on Flickr Mini-ISD by goatman461, on Flickr
  11. Hi everyone! My name is Eraman, i'm newbie here. This is my first contest, I'm very excited The idea of my mini lawn tractor came from my older creation. 2 months ago I built a bigger lawn tractor. I thought, it is enough good to try to publish on lego cusoo(lego ideas). https://ideas.lego.com/projects/62241 When I saw this contest, I knew, it will get a "little brother:)" Function: 1. Front wheel steering 2. Rotating blade 3. Openable hood It's not too much function, but it meets the requirments(i hope so ) Rather I tried to create a good-looking tractor. Number of parts: 200 pieces Dimension: length: 18-19 studs width: 9 studs (with wheels ~12studs) height: ~9studs Tyres: lego 42008 (43,2x22), 9390 (30,4x14) Some thoughts about the development: My vehicle was designed in LDD, I worked a lot on it. It's always being under development. Tomorrow I share my first LDD rendered pic and maybe the first real shot. Unfortunately I do not have all color of parts, what I imagined, but LDD pic will show my conception. If i have enough time, i will share some previous and coming problems/moments of the improvement. The promotional picture (black edition): More pic here! Part list: An LDD picture of the final version(green version): (All parts and their colours are official!) LDD file: ver.7.6final Building Instruction here Thanks for reading! ps: sorry for my poor english
  12. Just start this topic with a picture, it is full of hint about how I want To build my MOC (and I hope i success) What are them? :D
  13. Hi Folks, I modified the new Mini Cooper into a convertible. Lego Scala Figures fit well to the scale of the model: Mini side by side with VW T1 bus, unfortunately not an exact match of scale: And together with my Eriba Puck camping trailer, the Lego Belville children fit well with the scale:
  14. Being new around here, I'm not sure if I should post too much of my back catalogue, but here's a big model of a small car from a couple of years ago. Maxi Mini by TechnicNick, on Flickr Like all my large vehicle models, the chassis is studded Technic and I've included several functions under the System body. Studless Technic has proved very handy for the trickier stuff... Maxi Mini by TechnicNick, on Flickr That engine uses the old square 2x2 pistons and features every moving part of the real thing (wish the video on Flickr still worked!) It has crankshaft and pistons, chain driven camshaft, pushrods, rockers, valves, fan and auxiliary drive, even a shaft off the cam for the distributor with whirling rotor arm. It uses an M motor as a starter, operated from the 'ignition' switch inside the car. It drives the front wheels through a simple forward / reverse transmission. The starter can be disengaged. There's independent suspension, working steering (HOG via exhaust or by my odd choice of steering wheel), pneumatic brakes on the rear wheels, a working handbrake, seats that tilt, adjust and lock in place realistically and everything opens. The doors will latch closed, operable from inside or out. Maxi Mini by TechnicNick, on Flickr Maxi Mini by TechnicNick, on Flickr Maxi Mini by TechnicNick, on Flickr
  15. A little video showing a suspension concept: The suspension is tatra-style, not double wishbone. But it is simple and works well enough for my needs. Uses the lego rubber pieces in the place of shock absorbers to save space, and can be built onto a servo motor with as little hassle as possible. I am pleased that the pivot points are all aligned such that the wheels do not steer themselves when the suspension is actuated. Overall a neat concept that I hope to incorporate into my future small-scale MOCs.
  16. Hello Everybody! My first MOC's 2 functions: -HoG steering -Openable doors. This model made 100% of LEGO parts. The pictures: http://matthewslegot...s.wordpress.com (This is a HUN blog.) Thnx for reading. Sincerly: Matthew
  17. For the TECHNIC Mini contest at Eurobricks last summer, I’ve made a KOMATSU 931.1 harvester with exactly 200 parts. The harvester have some functions. One of them, you can rotate the cabin by turning the exhaust pipe. The functions are described in the picture below: 09_KOMATSU_931.1_technical_description by LegoMathijs, on Flickr I haven't broke down the model, so I’ve made a forest display for the KOMATSU 931.1. I hope you like the display
  18. A small 4x4 chassis with live axles. L motor for drive (geared 12:20) and micromotor for steering. I haven´t been able to make an ok body design, so that is why there isn´t one
  19. Just an excavator fully operated from its 3 exhaust. It has 4 functions with hood to see the gears , rotation, first arm with 2 small L.A. and second arm with another small L.A. for the arm-bucket combined function. Maybe it would be nice to make instructions and a video. Forgive the photos I have neither my camera or my computer thank you.
  20. I was just browsing the forum at Brickset, and it is reported that Lego is going to discontinue the monthly mini-build after December. It is disappointing, but I can understand some of the reasons why. I took my kids to their first one over the summer. It was packed, and that is where I learned you have to get there early to get your place in line. The Lego Store in Dallas has it arranged where you wait in line outside the store (it is in a mall). They would pass out cards for the kids who were there and then at 5pm direct kids to the tables to build their model. After a couple of times, they finally gave people the option of either building it at a table outside the store or taking it home. They also made sure the kids were actually present before issuing a card. Apparently, some people were abusing this and making up imaginary kids for the models. My kids enjoyed building the models, but it was not fun waiting that long with them, especially when the 7 year old has hyperactive attention deficit disorder. He would bother every living thing around him for that hour to hour and a half wait. Actually, I think forcing everyone to wait in line kind of hurt store sales a little bit. As the only parent with two kids in line, I myself wanted to go into the store while we were waiting, because (a) it was not busy inside, and (b) I am an AFOL who would likely purchase something. Going into the store would mean losing our place in line, because if I went in, then we would all have to go in. Therefore, I had to wait until we did the minibuild to go inside and maybe buy an item or two. By then, I was rushed, because it was dinner time for the kids. Certainly that and a more crowded store was not great for making a PAB cup. Even on a school night, the store easily gave out all of its supplies. The line extended back several stores and sometimes beyond. It will be disappointing to end this short lived monthly tradition with the kids, but again, I get it. It was not really profitable for Lego to give away free bricks and inadvertantly discourage people from going into the store. What are your thoughts?
  21. Hello people, here is my WIP of the TC5 competition. It is made with the 42001 set and parts of the 8066 set. I have the 42001 set but I don't have the 8066 set so I gathered its parts from my collection. All of the pieces to recreated the 8066 are the same color and model. This is not finished and I will update this post. Here it is: I used my small camera reflector background to make a teaser/confusing effect. more updates soon
  22. Hi everyone! I recently decided to build a new MOC at the mini scale, without reference to any real car or existing set. I just worked - and that's what I got. I think it would be redundant to paint characteristics of the model. All functionality and so well seen.

    MEC Category A: Micro Barad-dûr

Hi, this is my entry to the MiddleEarth Contest. It is an affordable version of Barad-dûr (including a Nazgul). It is probably too small for a set... I hope you like it nevertheless. Best wishes ArchitecureFan
  24. Hi there! Like many others I ordered the Mini as soon as it was available. It is a great piece of kit, since I´m very fond the BRG-color I was really happy when it was presented. I think the designer has done a really good job overall - considering the limitations of Lego. It has some drawbacks though; The rear end just doesn't look right, the angles are a bit off. The engine bay is nothing but horrible, the lack of detail is just - well bad. Therefor I've made some customization's, to get it a bit more like I want it. I've tried to get the rear end to look more like the original car, I've changed the tail lights since they were completely off. I have to admit thought I'm not 100% satisfied, but at least i think its better than out-of-the-box. The tailpipe is relocated and enlarged a bit to get the car a little more attitude when seen from behind. I've also moved the fog light since I made it left hand drive - the main reason for this was because i wanted to be able to fit the steering-servo, with reservoir inside the engine bay. And this was not doable due to the air-intake hose. I've redone the front grille to get some more space for the engine-components, but I hope it doesn't show to much from the outside. I fitted some extra lights, (rally-style) and put some covers on them. And yes I've changed to "Mini-lites" to golden ones, this may not be liked by some - but I think the contrast lifts the BRG-color even more. I've also moved the wheels out 1/2 stud to better fill the wheel arches. Well I think that's is whats done to the outside, lets talk a bout the engine bay: New engine block Side mounted radiator, with hose and thermostat Air intake hose, plenum and injection New spark plug cables Steering servo with reservoir Washer fluid reservoir Fuse box Exhaust manifold, (although It cannot be seen in the picture, but it is there) In addition to changing the front grille, I've also made the hood thinner to get enough space for the redesigned engine bay. Well - enough talking, here are the pictures - hope you like them! Cheers!
  25. Specialized Mountain bike Story: As an obsessed cyclist and technic builder, I wanted to create a full suspension bike with real geometry and functions. The original model is the Specialized Safire MTB back from 2009. Parts count: 200 Functions: -front suspension -rear suspension -turning handlebar -moving pedals and gears -stand Desing elements: - valves - authentic colour - disc brakes It contains alltogether 200 pcs (including 36 chain link) You can watch the model in action on youtube: Please note that the video was made last year with 203 pcs. For my entry I have removed 3 pcs which were not needed. Now unfortunately I don't had the time to shoot, cut, edit the 200 pcs video version. These are the additional pcs on the video: - Black technic bush - 2 pcs - Light bluish grey technic bush 1/2 smooth - 1pc You can build the model by watching the .
