    [MOC] L'Supervivere

L'Supervivere Over the course of several years during the great industrial age, this mechanical suit was created by the lesser-known Professor Stewart Phoenix out of disused parts scavenged from various scrapheaps and abandoned factories around the outskirts of Victorian London, hence L'Supervivere's rather cobbled together and unusually complex appearance. The original and sole purpose of L'Supervivere was to be used by Professor Stewart Phoenix to protect his family and his estate, Phoenix Manor, from destruction, but over the years this technical monstrosity was also used for several other suitably vital causes, such as fixing leaks in the Manor's roof and rescuing cats from trees. The most notable alternative use of L'Supervivere was during a lengthy voyage abroad, in which it was used to navigate the treacherous rainforests of the Amazon and defend a party of explorers (including Professor Stewart Phoenix himself) against any threats they may have encountered. At the end of Professor Stewart Phoenix's long and fruitful life, he proclaimed in his last will and testament that L'Supervivere would be passed down to his eldest and only son, Dr Joseph Phoenix, on the sole condition that it mustn't be used for any type of criminal activity and that at the end of his life, he should also pass on L'Supervivere to his eldest son, and that this son should pass it on to HIS eldest son, and so on until what is only described within Professor Stewart Phoenix's will as "The end of all days", but so far no-one has been able to fully understand the meaning behind this choice of words. Mysteriously, after being passed down through several generations L'Supervivere and the Phoenix bloodline completely disappeared from public view in the early 1920s. It is still rumored that L'Supervivere still exists in its original form to this day, but the location of the suit itself and it's rightful owner is currently not known... More images on my Flickr. 4. Infernus' jet mode resembled one character from Transformers universe (guess who?). He is named so because of his fiery red color scheme and with spikes and horns all over. He was known to rise from the depths of Cybertron hell, a culmination of millions of sparks who died horribly in the smelting pool. The jet transforms into robot without taking off parts. And the transformation sequence is incredibly simple indeed! Even though set 31032 offered tons of balljoints... I've used them all up leaving only one orphaned socket part (there's no balljoint to complement it). If only they offer this one part in this set and I will be able to make an articulated head. Presently Infernus only can look forward and unable to rotate his head. :P One of the major highlights in my project is how to make the nosecone halves (forming robot legs) aligned with each other . One of the way is to implement a peg on one half and a peghole on the opposing half. The 1-stud long peg looks ugly but I always favor structural integrity over aesthetics. ^ the aforementioned orphaned balljoint socket ended up at the back of his pelvis. You will notice he don't have eyes (read: there's no suitable transparent parts from set 31032 to be used for eyes.). I don't think he need proper eyes (or face even!) since he's literally one hell of a character, like grim reaper. :) ^ Strolling casually to Hell's Kitchen to get energon cubes. 5. This is the second version of this MOC. I originally made this for 4th of July last year (2014) and it was made in less than a day. Since then I have been improving it little by little and a lot by a lot. You can see the full flickr album here: https://www.flickr.c...57645462303896/

  7. Constraction-class Recon Combat Mech by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Not much to this really. I liked Hero Factory's final year where they ventured into mechs, and when I saw that the mech windscreen was to come in a new colour, Trans-Neon Orange, in the DC Super Heroes Black Manta set, I knew I had to build a CCBS mech using it. Here's my result. This is actually the first CCBS mech I have built from scratch rather than just slightly modified (even the Stringer Sonic Machine was a mod based off a polybag set), and I built it as to serve a sort of tribute to HF's final year. Positive and constructive comments are more than welcome. In case anybody asks, that's a minifigure form of my avatar in the cockpit. Oh, and I am aware of the contrasting colours in the gatling gun ammo - I forgot to change it out for trans-orange studs before taking the picture

  11. From Power Rangers Season 3, I present to you: The Ninja Zords! Red Ape, Black Frog, Yellow Bear, Blue Wolf, Pink Crane, White Falcon. They have several hinges so that they can transform, unite and form the Ninja Megazord. This transformation, no disassembly of parts, only movements to certain parts change position and have the desired format. -Black Frog, becomes the legs and waist, lowering your hips stretching his hind legs and tucking the front inside of the knees -Yellow Bear, becomes the torso, gathering the front legs and shrinking the body -Red Ape, becomes the right arm, holding her arms in the back and shrinking back -Blue Wolf, becomes the left arm, hiding the front legs and rear -Pink Crane, transforms in the head by lifting the neck to the tail showing the face and collecting the wings. Finally the Falconzord fits in the back getting the Ninja Megafalconzord and can fly. 13. Here is the latest from the engineers and mechanics of Central Machines! The XVI "Manticore" Class mech! The most powerful war machine in Central Machine's arsenal. It has two massive 6cm gatling cannons on either side of the two-person cockpit. A smaller machine gun is located in the undercarriage. This powerful machine carries six automaton infantry troops housed in the rear. A delightful play feature (see video) allows you to pull out all troops at a single time. Here's a side view. And an upward shot. And here is a link to the video of the play feature: http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/

  15. When I started this project, I plan to recreate an obscure diaclone triple changer* that was abandoned last minute by Hasbro as a official character in their G1 Transformers cartoon series back in the 80s. I used yellow parts to prototype it because it's been a while since I build something using this color. *try google "diaclone triple changer" to see which toy I am referring to =) After a while, I came to a realisation that difficult compromises must be made to ensure both vehicle modes (jet plane and helicopter) looks good. But the good thing is, my prototyping yielded something else.... instead of a jet, it looks potentially viable as a decent speedboat. So , there! TRIVIA: - I actually contemplating changing the color scheme to blue or white when this project almost reaches 90% completion, but changed my mind coz I had been building alot of blue LEGO creations lately (and I'm reserving white parts for another upcoming triple changer project) - One of the most trivial thing I spent many, many hours on was making a weapon for this guy that can be integrated in both the vehicle modes. - The retractable tyres on the back of the helicopter are quite weak. If I don't position them at the right angle (85 - 95 degrees), they fall down flat ,unable to hold the weight of the helicopter. - 5 mini balljoints (introduced in LEGO LEGO Mixels) were used in this built... including one applied to the robot neck making it more articulated that ever. - I initially used a pair of dark gray rudders for the speedboat mode, but I snapped broken the c-clip of one of the part and I don't have a replacement part. Ended up using black rudders instead. :| ^ the rifle is meant for the robot mode, now integrated into the vehicle as a non-weapon component ^ The cockpit can fit one minifig snugly. TRANSFORMATION HIGHLITES (to speedboat) ^ tailfin split into half to become pontoons. ^ the dark gray stud on the side of the tailfin are connected to secure the poontoons formation. TRANSFORMATION HIGHLITES (to robot) ^ As the nosecone unfolded, you can see how the minifig pilot is connected , via his feet to the light gray bracket part. ^ The yellow c-clip helps to secure the folded-up tailfin halves with a gap/hole to accomodate such c-clip. Without such mechanism.. they will be left dangling and disrupt the poseability of the legs. ^ Pilot ended up at the back of the robot mode after transformation complete, but his presence there prevents the waist from being rotated. ^ Thanks to the mini balljoints implemented on the shoulder, this guy can perform some serious kung fu stance. :) ... and not to mention, ability to hold the weapons with both hands. My favorite photo of all from the whole lot. MOC: Dieselpunk "Gremlin" Class Mech

With a clank and a hiss, the Gremlin is ready for action! The smallest mounted unit in the Central Machine's arsenal, The Gremlin is a versatile little mech that works as scout, infantry, and artillery. During the Blackblood Wars Central Machines produced over 65,000 Gremlins making the most produced mech to date. I based this MOC using the skeleton of Exo-Force 7711. http://www.bricklink...em.asp?S=7711-1 Here is an open-cockpit photo.
  17. One of the first, and most lasting machines to emerge from that mysterious militant nation, Tartrosia. After Tartrosia entered the war, these little tanks emerged by the millions and were seen all over the battlefield beneath the vertical city of Musina. The Chubby tank boasts four powerful machine guns and a single pulse cannon. It seats one pilot who also is the gunner. This MOC came about as I tried to manufacture a turret for my big airship (stay tuned! It'll be here by, hopefully, the end of the month.) The turret didn't work out, so I modified it. Please, comments and/or criticism appreciated.
  18. There is a fog upon the battlefield. The broken bodies of men and machine lay limp on the bloodied ground. The battered remains of battle machines still hiss out smoke. This waste, this destruction, could be caused by only one thing: The Goblin. In response to the Attatech III, the Central Machines X was born and bred for total warfare. With four massive 6 cm cannons, four missle lauchers, and reverse-seated machine gunners, the Goblin is a veritable walking fortress. Here is an aged photo, which, as you know, I like to do. Here is the valiant crew! I hope you enjoy. More pictures on Brickshelf.

    [MOC/Render] XV104 Riptide Battlesuit

[Render] XV104 Riptide by The Mugbearer, on Flickr The XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is one of the latest Tau Earth Caste innovations, designed to combat the most dangerous enemies of the Tau Empire. Powered by an experimental Dark Matter Nova Reactor and equipped with an arsenal of highly advanced weapon systems, the XV104 Riptide is the pinnacle of Tau Battlesuit technology. Standing twice the height of an XV8 Crisis Battlesuit, the XV104 is the epitome of Tau ingenuity and technology. Its long, back-jointed legs hold up a heavily armoured torso that houses the Riptide’s Dark Matter Nova Reactor -- an experimental power generator that can be activated should the Shas’vre pilot require extra power to sustain his heavy rate of fire. The XV104 carries a sleek Riptide Shield Generator on one arm and a Heavy Burst Cannon, which can be exchanged for an Ion Accelerator, on the other. To provide manoeuvrability, the XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is also equipped with a large Jetpack that juts out from its shoulder blades. Source

  24. It's done! It's been extremely cold and snowy outside recently, so I figured it would look pretty nice standing in the snow. I'm a recent convert to a Gundam fanatic - I've only seen Gundam 00 and Gundam Unicorn as of yet. I have plans to watch Gundam SEED and Gundam Wing soon though. I was going to build one of the Gundam mobile suits from Gundam 00, but since that's a much newer show they're extremely greebly and have tiny bits sticking off in every direction. RX-78-2 is much more iconic, and consists of quite a bit more flat surfaces, so I figured I had a better chance of building it with the limited parts collection and time I had. In fact, I decided I wanted to build a Gundam for a LUG display this year... three weeks before the show was scheduled. I figure that I put anywhere from 25-30 hours into this MOC, and I'm quite in love with the results. In fact, it looked quite good standing in the middle of our display: (I did hear more than one comment to the effect of 'That Transformer looks cool!' ) Though I did hear one 'stoic' applied, so I guess that evens it out! Of course we need to look at it up close... I had to apply two chest reduction surgeries to make everything look right I was originally going to go for the fancy rocket-backpack that my reference images had, but I eschewed that as I needed something sideways to hold the top onto the bottom apart from the few studs-up connections in the torso. A good thing too, because it hasn't fallen apart since! (This was an issue in the WIP model...) Possibly the one thing within the Gundam series that's more iconic than the titular mobile suits themselves: the Beam Saber! Let's not forget the accessories either: The Beam Magnum! The Medium Shield! The Beam Saber! Nothing too fancy here, this was the last item to be put together - it was the night before and I had to get up rather early... but it does its job! An accessories-only shot appears to be all the rage with Lego mech stuff nowadays, so here's one! And let's finish off with some more images: Some final thoughts... I did design it with full mobility in the joints, but it's just too heavy to really be posed in anything resembling an action shot. This is due to the weakness of the ankle joints, which are just standard Lego ball joint bricks; they're too weak to stand up to the weight and as a result the whole model is extremely prone to tipping over. To help counter this, I added some bricks surrounding the joint, but the result is that I can't really pose it in a proper action pose. In addition, the knee joints have limited travel due to the pieces I used to attach the short cone-like round pieces that you can see in the images. The arms are also fully poseable, but due to the fact that the armor pauldrons are attached to the body with a single Technic friction pin, there ends up not being enough force inherent in the joint to hold up the arm. The arm itself is attached to the pauldron with a ball joint and is therefore independently poseable from the pauldron. The next time I build a mobile suit or mecha on this scale, I'll have to look into increasing the poseability dramatically. I was starting to run out of tiles at the end and had to do some clever things to stretch my supply enough to cover the arms. Going studded was *not* an option! Overall, I feel that this project was well worth the time and effort I put into it. It's going to stay together for a long while, I think!
