    MOC: Harbour Town

[pid][/pid] 251C Ahoy, I was interested in building a harbour scene using a good old raised baseplate. Unfortunately you cannot see a lot of the harbour but for some bits of water in the middle, but I am quite happy with the way the buildings have turned out: The whole set is modular (which I have forgotten to prove by taking the appropriate pictures ). At the back side I have allowed for a cross-section approach to the buildings to allow for access and playability: Ok - Sebeus I : this was not the harbour scene I am working on. And the next post should be a ship again.

    MOC- Jupiter Locomotive

This is my first train MOC, and it felt like a big, complicated project. It’s based on inspired very loosely by the Jupiter train from the Lone Ranger film. I gave myself a simple brief when designing it- it must be fully compatible with the Constitution train, and have some interesting function. I took most of the time connecting together a complex trigger system for a light brick in the firebox, which is activated by a small lever in the cab. I didn’t actually look at any photos when building the thing, and I’ve now realised the actual thing was mostly silver, like most things in the Lone Ranger (Horse, gun, bullets, mine etc), but here we go with a red, dark red and gold-themed train. I built a coal carriage based closely on the Constitution’s and a few other carriages, but I’ll share those later. Anyway, I’ll let these amateurishly taken photos tell the tale best. Most of these pictures link to huge version, but this one goes to my Flickr. Front view, showing those headlights I'm quite proud of. A neat side view The train's back half, with the coals. Our cheerful driver works the controls here Here is the driver messing about with some vent on the side, which is only here because I found it fitted there. Finally, the "play function" I built into the model. Here is the cab's interior... ... And when that lever is pulled upwards by an enormous finger-thing of The Man Upstairs... It lights up! You have no idea how long that took. I had to rip out and reconstruct the interior many times before that would work. Anyway, that's it until I finish off and upload all the carriages I made to go with this thing. Building it was a new experience and it was fun working with all these new-to-me parts. Comments welcomed!
  5. Here is my latest MOC: I tried to cram as many features as possible into a car that's still only 17 studs wide (20 if you count the mirrors). They are: full independent suspension steering (including rotating steering wheel) driving (including fake engine) 2-speed windshield wipers convertible top easily removable batterybox The drivetrain lacks a differential, 2 L-motors are used for drive instead. The servo motor does the steering and 2 M-motors operate the windshield wipers and the roof. I plan to create building instructions in the future as I did for my other MOCs. For now, there is only this video. EDIT: The building instructions are now available from http://rebrickable.c...act-convertible EDIT 2: This MOC is now on Lego Ideas. Please visit the project page and support it!

    [MOC]- Spaceship Corridor

So this is my first MOC to be posted on Eurobricks. It is almost a year old, but yet still one of my favorites. It is just a basic spaceship corridor with some random pieces of junk throughout. Thoughts? CC welcome!

    Community - LDD MOC

Community I've found this series in this February accidentally on a LEGO forum (not here), when someone recommended it as an underestimated series. Community? I've never heard of it. It is not a very unique title, something that is easy to forget. But let's give it a try. And BOOM, my life has been changed! How come I never came across this pearl of a series for 5 years? It was nothing I've ever seen before! This series is insane, and cannot be compared to anything else. Everyone (okay, almost everyone) is like a cartoon figure in live action TV series. I cannot describe it, if you know it and love it, you know what I mean. I spent a wonderful 4 months watching the episodes (mostly only 1 episode a day, just to lengthen the joy as much as possible). Then I heard that the show has been cancelled after 5 years. It's rumored that it has a slight chance to survive on another channel, so let's hope. Six seasons and a movie! The study group. Another important announcement by the Dean. Not all these LEGO parts exist in these colors, sadly.

    [MOC] Space Corvette model 209

IMGP1879 by microdrake, on Flickr Well here it is, the Space Corvette model 209. (Insert fanfare) Made by the Chevrotech to out-fly all the other sports-craft. It has a top speed of 55 LYPM. It also has a seat more comfortable than all space-limo seats ever created! All for the low price of only 9,000,000 dollars! You heard me, only 9,000,000 dollars! Sorry about that, that was my sales assistant. It is not actually for sale and has none of those features. Although I may consider it sometime in the future. I have no idea where he got the numbers from. IMGP1882 by microdrake, on Flickr IMGP1885 by microdrake, on Flickr

  10. Scene from James Cameron's 1986 movie 'Aliens'. Custom minifigs by Blacktron http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57638&st=50 After featuring on 'The Brothers Brick' a few weeks ago (thanks guys!) these Lego Aliens pics went viral in the wider movie fan community, with appearances on a number of movie blogs like these: http://flavorwire.com/460553/james-camerons-aliens-recreated-in-lego http://www.avclub.com/article/cuteness-coming-out-walls-lego-aliens-photoset-205446 https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/aliens-scenes-recreated-lego-155000751.html As a result I've had 88,000 views on my Aliens album page so far - so I guess Blacktron will be needing to make some more of his awesome colonial marines. Thanks everyone!
  11. Hi all, Been lurking here for some time, and enjoyed viewing many of the MOCs you guys are creating. I ended my dark age 3 years ago with the Unimog set, however I don't have the motivation to join the world of MOCs until now. For my first MOC I have chosen to reproduce the Duke Coupe featured in the racing game "Dirt: Showdown". I think the simple structure and design of the car would be a good first practice on MOCs. For the build I didn't make much planning apart from approximating the stud length and width of the car, and deciding that it would be double wishbone suspension for both front and rear. Then I just laid all the available parts around myself and begin assembling freehand. I started out with the front axle, and decided midway that I want the build to also be IR controlled with a servo for steering and L motor for drive. The build then progressed to the centre section with the engine and exhausts. The exhausts took a lot of tweaking to make it look right, and even when I leave it I'm still doubtful of the appearance. I then skipped the main body section and begin work on the rear axle and the rear bodywork. Joining the front and rear took quite some time. Originally I wanted to have a detailed cockpit but the battery box, L motor and IR receiver took all the space. Designing and fitting the panels were easier than expected though. The roof was the hardest part of the whole build, I just couldn't get it to look right for a very long time. Later I accept defeat and decided on using flex axles again. In the last steps I find structural weaknesses (by using my hand to flex and twist the whole model) and strengthened them, then I finish the build with some last touches on minor details. The finished build: Engine bay details: Central PF elements: Detached rear body and roof: Detached front body and hood (One flex tube slipped out of position ): Belly shot: Specs: Length: 60 studs Width: 27 studs I don't know the exact weight but it is heavier than the assembled 42000 F1. I also don't know the part count since I didn't bother counting. IR controlled with servo steering L motor geared 1:1.4 with differential for drive to rear wheels (engine also connected) Speed: ~1 m/s Front and rear double wishbone suspension Wheelbase: 47 studs Track width: 23 studs Normally 4 studs clearance with 3-4 studs travel 1 stud clearance when fully compressed I am aware there may be some sub-optimal assemblies, some individual parts may not be 100% stably secured, and the bent axles may be illegal techniques. The ride height went a lot higher than I expected, the nose is also a few studs too long.and as a result the whole model looks a bit off-proportioned compared to the original. But I think the overall feel of the design is still there. Although the build was fairly basic and simple, the process was extremely fun. The exhaust turned out to all right once I attached the rear and main body. Watching the build take shape as it progresses was the most satisfying feeling I've had in a while. Thanks for viewing! MOMOD: The Black Pearl

[pid][/pid] 162B Ahoy! It had been on my mind for some time to MODify the Black Pearl (because it was such a small and poorly fitted ship). Now I have found the time - but probably the result needs to be discussed. So here is the MOMOD (which is My Own MODification): Here we are facing the first challenge related to the Black Pearl: It is mostly black, at best dark grey and dark brown in a few parts. This means: YOU DO NOT SEE ANYTHING ON THE PICTURES! And it looks a lot like something the monster fighters might be after. Nothing more depressing than a combination of black and dark grey in the world of LEGO... This is why I took the pictures outside - just to catch some rays of sun and make it look a bit better. Then you can see that I added a deck and four cannons (however, the standard red-painted wood is too lively for the Black Pearl...). I changed the bow a bit: But then I basically stopped. It was great fun to MODify the "Queen Anne's Revenge". Unfortunately I am not really happy with the Black Pearl. May this serve as "warning" or "inspiration" for you to try something else

    MOC: Brickington Center Station

I've had this MOC done for a while now (the first thing I've finished building in a very long time) but hadn't gotten around to posting it yet because I was very busy with my college work. However, now that it's summer, I'm finally getting around to it! It feels good to have some more time to give to Eurobricks again. Anyway, here it is, Brickington Center Station. This station located at the heart of downtown is perfect for hopping on a train that can bring you anywhere you need to go in the city. Pick up a quick snack at the bakery and buy your ticket before taking the escalator up to the platform. More pictures are located on my Flickr page. Thanks!
  18. After much preparation I am proud to present the instructions for my Skid Steer Loader, based on the New Holland LS160; It's driven by two electric motors, steers differentially, and the boom and bucket are pneumatic. Check it out moving about on .Control is by a tethered hand controller with built in automatic pneumatic pump - instructions are included for this. There's also a chapter describing the building techniques I used, loads of photos of the model and real machine, and instructions for an optional pneumatic grab attachment. You can buy the instructions from my website and MOCplans for a small charge of $12 - these are rendered by Eric Albrecht, so you know you are buying quality. I've listed the model on Rebrickable, so it should be easy to figure out if you have the parts you need to build it! Enjoy, and please let me know what you think :-) Jennifer
  19. Hi Folks, Many, many years ago I started the process of creating instructions for one of my models, the JCB JS220 excavator. Unfortunately I was unable to convert the complex CAD files to instructions due to technical problems, but Eric Albrecht (Blakbird) has stepped in and made it work. So after an incredible amount of work from Eric and myself, it is with great pleasure I finally announce they are ready, and can now be downloaded. Eric has done an amazing job on the rendering, and the instructions are of the highest quality. They can be downloaded from Crowkiller's website for a small charge at the following link; http://www.crowkille...F-JCB-excavator Enjoy! Jennifer
  20. Hello folks, I'm a "fresh" member and I hope this is the right place to present my last MOC. It's a custom version of the VW T1: a "road service" canvas pick-up. In 2011 I bought the set # 10220, I think it’s a well detailed and shaped set. Furthermore I like vintage vehicles and especially the Bulli (even called Samba or Kombi). I haven't bought original LEGO sets for many years and It has been a pleasure to have a new LEGO box in my hands. Personally I prefer “working vehicles” and I wasn’t satisfied with the camper version. I waited to build it until I had the idea to build a canvas pick-up for “road service”. So last winter I built my own version of the T1 and last week I took some pictures. Maybe someone of you has already seen it on my flickr stream or Mocpages (and on The Lego Car Blog). My T1 has two side doors below the load compartment; two shovels for road emergencies are mounted on the doors. Two spare wheels, a fuel tank and a wooden box with various tools are positioned on the rack. The plate is an italian one and the numbers are the original ones of a real T1 (I like the old Italian plate style). Two HELLA supplemental lights are fitted on the front bumper. A sticker with the VW Bobble Head mascot is positioned on the canvas, I love it! Without the canvas, the T1 is a funny pick-up to carry "oversize" load. The floor is made of "wooden" plates. MOC: De Luca Menswear

Hi everyone, here is my latest creation De Luca's menswear! It is a 4 storey building with a store for stylish menswear on the ground floor and several apartments in the floors above. It fits exactly onto two 32x32 baseplates. I wanted to see how interesting I could make a predominantly grey based fascia as I have done mainly white/tan facades most recently. I figured enough texture and occasional colouring could bring it to life. I also wanted to experiment with an idea I had to make a different shape of apartment by hinging the bedrooms for access. It's pretty sturdy with a couple of hinges per wall for reinforcement but it did limit the colour palette slightly. Sadly no bathrooms this time but thought the spacing and shape would allow for kitchens easily enough. The building is based in the early 1960's for reference. I wanted to make furniture from a different era than I usually do. The vehicle is an American style sedan. It took a lot of fiddling to get the rear wheel arch to line up perfectly! I couldn't quite get good light for pics of the bedroom interiors so ill probably post all the furniture separately in the future. Comments and questions welcomed! There's a few more interior shots on my flickr stream here: https://www.flickr.c...57644901364201/ Cheers!

    MOC: Department Store

After almost two years here on Eurobricks, it must be time I present a MOC of mine. For a long time I have had my eyes on the Grand Emporium. But times are not to buy it. But I would like my (future) city to have a department store, so when I got the chance to place a PAB order, I finished my ideas for the building, and came up with this. I am quite happy with the result. It is not a modular building, as I do not have got any for the time being. So all my buildings are in the classic town style. It will be an integral part of the city centre. Exterior The front of the department store. Even though we have passed the seasons, I have decorated the building for Christmas. Interior The interior of the department store. It is a temporary interior, I have not made the final version. I will browse the forum for inspiration (Lightningtiger, I might "borrow" from you ). But the departments are placed where I would like them to be. From the ground floor and up, you find: Jewelery, perfumes and clothes; home and glassware; and on the top floor toys and a cafe. Thanks for watching. C&C are welcome
  24. Hi everybody, A while ago I posted my MOC here and received some nice comments. Thank you all very much. A special thanks to Jim who frontpaged me, and to Osuharding1 who created a great .Today, I've published the Compact Convertible at the new Lego Ideas. As you know, when it receives 10,000 supporters TLG will consider making it an official model. I know it's a long shot, but I'd like to ask all of you to please become a supporter. Simply visit the project page and if you like it, click "Support". You'll need to login or create an account to complete. This is the first time I published something on Lego Ideas and the experience was pretty flawless. I like the new layout and the new wizard to enter all the project information was great to use. It took two days for the project to be approved. I would like to see more awesome Technic models on there though, so after supporting me please also submit your own MOC!
