  1. After weeks of sailing, The Knight of Stedor arrived at a desolated beach, unknown to the current maps. Captain Ben D'anvers yelled to his crew: "Time for a break and start exploring lazy sundayworkers!" An explosion of joy was the answer! Finally they discovered an island! Once disembarked, Officer Giancarlo noticed a small wooden structure in the middle of the beach. He pointed it out to Captain Ben and together they walked curiously to the mystical shrine. "Huh, this is a strange place", officer Giancarlo said "look at that small statue with the funny hat". Captain Ben D'Anvers was looking around him. This certainly is something very uncommon. He knew there were natives found on one of the other islands closeby, but he recognised the helmet from one of his trips to the National History Museum of Corrington. "That's a viking helmet" Ben said "and I guess that blue statue under it was the original wearer of that helmet." "But it still is a strange shrine then, look at those shields above it..." Giancarlo replied. "Wait a minute, this is not just a shrine, I think we are standing on a stranded Drakar!!! That really looks like a stern of a vessel to me" answered Ben a little bit too loud because suddenly... .. Suddenly 2 norse warriors ran towards them, their weapons swinging in the air... "Soldiers! Here!" yelled Ben... Quickly 2 MAESTRO-soldiers entered the scene of action, pointing their muskets to the warriors. They never saw something like that before and thought it was just a wooden stick, so they started laughing, not at all frightened by the gunpower of the soldiers. So one of the 2 soldiers aimed for a flying bird and shot it down. Now the 2 vikings stopped and looked in awe to the magical weapon their opponent had "That was close" Ben sighed. "Thanks for coming so quicklyi" He bowed for the Viking warriors. Meanwhile one of the soldiers brought a chest full of shiny golden stuff and opened it in front of the 2 Vikings. Stunned by all the gold and understanding this act of friendship, they bowed towards Captain Ben D'Anvers and said something in an unknown language before pointing their hands to an invisible place somewhere in the woods. They started walking and guiding our explorers into the woods. The 2 MAESTRO-Soldiers constanlty watched out to ensure the safety of their masters. Giancarlo whispered "Why do you gave them gold, they are barbarians and I guess they can't offer us anything valuable". Captain Ben D'Anvers replied: "You know Vikings attacked our homelands 300 years ago. They are the ancestors of the modern day Kingdoms of The Great Raider, west of Corrington and Oleon. But they didn't only raid villages in the east, they also explored the seas west of their homeland. Somehow one of these ships has stranded here and I guess their captain died too soon, so they never had the possibility to return. If these stories are true, we may find prove the world is round. If so, they should have somewhere ancient maps of the unknown area east of where we are now. That would give us a big advantage over our competitors!" Is Captain Ben D'Anvers right about this? The future will tell!! To be continued!!! C&C welcome!!! Some more pictures:
  2. This is my fourth freebuild this month. If you like it, then any approvals are welcome. Elysabeth and Matteus have just arrived in the little hamlet now called Elysabethtown. "Why is this hamlet wearing my name?" -"Honey, consider it a birthday present. And there's something else you have to see." "Waw, what's that?" -"The headqarter of my company. And the best thing is: as long as your new town-hall is not build, you can rule from here." "My new town-hall?" -"Didn't I say that? You will be mayor of this town, when we get a charter. But please come in!" "This is the entree-hall. To the left, you've got a little shrine for the Oleander gods. NOt that we're believers, they just don(t want to trade if they can't pray. Silly people." "To the right, there's a little statue of Maxim I, founder of the MAESTRO trading company." "And under us, you've got the cellar. There we store some goods, always nice to trade. And when these goods are weapons, they're also nice to defend. And of course the famous apple-cider of our Minister of Agricultural Development: Felipe." "And then we go upstairs, where Lord Maximilian is waiting on us. He's trying to find the right person for an exploration mission." "Ha, Elysabeth. Congratulations on your marriage and your new mayor-ship. What are your plans with the town?" -"I'm going on that exploration mission." "What..." Matteus: "But Honey..." -"No. I'm going. Prepare that ship we got from the King. When I've drawn the plans for the new fort, we'll leave." ----------------- My King. I promised you two MOCs, and I always keep my promises. Here you've got them. Your humble servant, Elysabeth of Drondil Sorry for the bad pictures, lighting is very bad in Belgium. CC very appreciated! Additional images
  3. As promised, Matteus was going to show to brand-new warehouse of MAESTRO in Terreli. "Welcome at my job!" "So, here I work everyday. Well, not everyday. In short time, MAESTRO is planning to open their first colony. We're only still searching a good place, byt when that's solved, I'll move there." -"You won't leave me here alone, won't you?" "Of course not!" "There you've got Lord Maximilian, as always bowed ver his maps. He's trying to find the ideal location for the new settlement, a very hard job." "Maximilian, say hello to the good lady!" "Hello, lady Elysabeth. You're very welcome here, but please be silent. I'm trying to find the ideal location for my new colony. And that's hard." -"Hello, Lord Maximilian. Is it really so hard?" "Unbelievable. Take a look yourself!" Elysabeth walks towards the table with maps and gets a look at the one on top. WP_20160103_11_39_17_Pro by titus.verelst, on Flickr "What's wrong with this spot? You've got a natural harbor, and on these rocks can come a fort protecting the whole bay. Plus it's close to Nova Terreli, the capital of Eslandolan possessions in the New World. And you can't possibly leave the whole island to the ETWC?" -"But that's brilliant! I'm directky going to tell the king!" Lord Maximilian stands up and runs outside. For one reason or another, he's calling "Eureka!!!!!" "Well, so..." Here we store our goods: all these weapons are fresh from the armories of Stedor, ready to sent towards our troops in the New World! They say we have found some new islands there, and we'll need to defend them. And even better, get a look at the one in the middle." -"That's beautifull..." "And all for you!" (Matteus totally forgot to mention that it was Maximilian's gift) -"Oh, waw..." "And come with me outside..." "Hey Manuel, good day to you!" -"Good day to you too, good lord!" Elysabeth: "What's he doing?" -"He's replacing barrels. One of our merchants has found some beautifull apples for our troops in the New World." "..." "And this one is for you too!" -"She's... She's... Can I take a ride?" "Of course, wait a moment while I sadle her." -"Not necessary. " With some quick movements of her hand, Elysabeth got her hair loose. Matteus sighted. Why needed girls always something to do with their hair?" But when ELysabeth mounted, bareback, he understood why: with her hair swung in the wind and she was even more beautifull. For the third time in a row, their meeting ended with Matteus just staring after her. -------------- Thank you all for the kind comments on previous MOCs, and MAxim for the co-operation! @Faladrin: I do be very sorry, but I just realised I do not have a single Lego apple. And MAESTRO is a step closer to full Company-ship! Additional Images:
  4. First of all sorry for the picture quality, it is kinda dark outside... Also sorry for the small cracks in the build, I hurt my thumb yesterday, so I can't use both hands to brick :( Anyhow, on Nelissa, there lays a small settlement called Elysabethtown. As this is the hamlet where MAESTRO starts their oversea activities, MAESTRO opened a Swordsmith here. (please note that Elysabeth is not granted officially yet, but after reading the rules once again, it should not be a problem to start a hamlet on Nelissa). The flags of MAESTRO and Eslandola waving proudly in the wind. The groundfloor is the swordsmith. On the upperfloor, a soldier lives in a small cosy room. The soldier really enjoys his station. Thanks to the little roof, he has no sunburns and every now and then he can take a nap or a bite in one of Filipe de la Manzana's delicious apples as nothing really interesting happens in peacefull Elysabethtown right now... Well, I hope it fits for the EGS as free licenced small build. I wonder if it is categorized as factory or as artisans workshop? It is really difficult to build a factory on a 16x16 base... C&C welcome :)
  5. The name Mpya Stedor means "New city" ("Mpya" is swahili for "new" and "Stedor" comes from "Stede" which is old Dutch for "City") The new settlement became already quickly a famous place in Historica and after 3 years it was finally recognised as a mayor Port City! So a few hours before the Great Disturbance, Stedor was a busy tradeplace full of activity! There was even a very nice wedding going on!!! (check the movie: ) ---------------------------------------- Now: (a few weeks after the Great Disturbance) Lord Damaximus called in the Council of Stedor Lord Damaximus: => Sir Fre Poah, how is our financial status? Sir Fre Poah: => Badly Lord, it's like there is a gap in the floor and all our gold is vanishing through it... Damaximus: => Lord Tomvaximus (of Maestro): what are our revenues? Tomvaximus: => Our only revenues are the food we can sell at neighbouring cities with foodshortage... We hear the people complaining it is only fish fish and fish we can offer nowadays... All our other products are on hold... Damaximus: => How is the reconstruction of our gold mine? Tomvaximus: => I guess it will be 3 more weeks before we can start mining again and a few more weeks before the revenues will stream in... Damaximus: => Sir Gah Rydog, how is the rebuilding of our Southern Towers? Gah Rydog: => Will be a matter of days.. Normally by Thursday our fortifications are back like they should be. Damaximus: => Finally some good news... General Whisximus, Where are my troops? Whisximus: => Most of the Alleenridders and Ximian forces are still sieging Eastgate. The 1001 Tigres are on holiday at Al'Esterbroke so we don't have to pay them. The Atlarkian fleet is back in Atlarka as it is summer there and they wanted to see their wife and kids. The dragons of Drakrydar are also back home for the breeding season... => In Stedor we are using the minimum soldiers we need. The other soldiers are rebuilding the damaged parts of our city and the neighbours. Damaximus: => Tomvaximus, prepare some ships so we can send messengers to other Guilds. Tell them they can hire the 1001 Tigres as mercenaries. Make them leave our city tomorrow morning. Talking about our fleet, Admiral Bostoximus, how is our fleet? Bostoximus: => We still have 10 ships. 10 more ships are currently being repaired. The 30 other ships we once had, are lost. I am sorry my lord. Damaximus: => Council dismissed, I gonna cry some... -------------------------------------------- Lord Damaximus: => Lord Max Samu, what's up with the Ulanda thing in front of our bay, anymore news? Lord Max Samu, => our agents are doing everything they can to gain as much info as possible. It is a good thing we don't say much about it to our citizens. The first reports I get in are talking about more than 5000 soldiers, very well organised. Damaximus: => Okay, let's send an emissary to there. Hopefully they are not up to war... Max Samu: => They already sent emissaries themselves to weaker cities here in Kaliphlin. It is frightening that not one major city in Kaliphlin saw an emissary of Ulanda. The only emissary we saw was that idiot who claimed the Desert King is back. Damaximus: => I know it is frightening. That's why my messengers are not going to offer my 1001 Tigres but they are going to ask for help to our alliances in other Guilds. Max Samu: => It is indeed wise to let our citizens be unknown of the current situation. Are you going to tell your allies Stedor is bankrupt? Damaximus: => Nope. When they ask to show some money, we are going to show the money of Everlast. Thanks god that place hasn't been hit by the Great Disturbance...

    West Stedor

West Stedor has been renovated. The wall, gate and towers may look the same as the previous ones, now they are stronger and have a better foundation. All the buildings in West Stedor have been replaced and put on a higher level. Now the ground level functions as stockage room. Avalonia, Mitgardia and Nocturnus have their individual stockageroom where their members can store goods. There are also 3 Kaliphlin stockagerooms. They can be recognised by the heralds of Eastgate (for West Kaliphlin), Petraea (Middle Kaliphlin) and Qarkyr (East Kaliplin). The buildings itself are different shops. The red building houses a bakery and a cartographer. The darkblue house has a butcher and cooper in it and under the arches people can buy fruit. The dark orange building is well know for their smiths, stonecutters and painters (most of them coming from Ruadh!). The green building is the very famous "Horses Head Inn". Under the Inn are stables. Not only the white striped buildings are a citymark of Stedor, also the mozaic roofs made of dried flowers are known in every corner of the world. As major Historican trading port, Mpya Stedor has cranes to lift heavy cargo. (note: it really works!) In the Market Area you can almost buy everything!! Some good wine? Check! Or a new fancy cape? Check! Or you need some barrels to store your food in? Check!! Let's see what the Market Area can offer you: - Ale seller from Mitgardia - Baker - Butcher - Cape maker (with spinningweel) - Cartographer - Cooper - Fish & Seafruits - Fruits & Vegetables - Inn - Painter - Stonecutter making statues - Weapons - Winery There is also a fortuneteller telling you everything you want to hear! After walking under the huge Main Gate of Stedor, you are welcomed by a very vibrating Main Square. People are meeting eachother here or saying goodbye, adventurers are dropping a tear before leaving the city, ... It all happens around the fountain under the Statue of Liberty. Another very popular attraction are the Warrior Games in front of the "Champions Guild". Many famous Historicans are watching now a game between a Mitgardian and a Jungle Of Gorr Warrior. Lord Damaximus is standing on the balcony of the "Champions Guild" (aka Alleenridders Palace), having a nice view over West Stedor. In front of him, workers are building a small temple. And if all the activity makes you thirsty? Well go get a beer in the Horses Head Inn!! Under the "Horses Head Inn" are the stables of West Stedor. Easily recognisable by the Camel wall painting next to it. In the lower right corner, you see a part of the construction site. As MAESTRO needed more space, they have converted the West Gate into their Headquarter. Here their traders and soldiers come and go with goods and gold. Different views of the city I had many positive comments at Brickmania Limburg about this part of my city. I hope you like it as well :) Thanks for watching! C&C is ofcourse welcome! Maxim I Note: I believe I am the first one using flowers as roofing technique. There are in Hungary and Poland buildings (mostly churches) with mozaic in their roofs, making it very colourfull and extrely beautifull. Note 2: For the University of Petraea I like to claim more than 3 credits because of the size of the MOC (it are smaller 3 48x48 baseplates + 1 32x80 + 4 32x32 MOCs): - Architecture: roofing (the flowers) - Architecture walls: SNOT tiled walls (the camel and doors) - Architecture roofrakes (the white roofrakes of the Horses Head Inn) - Architecture Advanced windows (the fences as windows, the double windows, ...) - General Building: Movement-enabled (the crane on the docks and the crane of the workshop) - Trade & Law: manufactering - Culture : Art Note 3: West and East Stedor will be showed together at Brickmania Antwerp 2014 (15 & 16 November) as part of a huge (8x8 meter) castle lay-out, so be sure to come to there and check this out! Note 4: the pictures were taking during Brickmania Limburg. That's why the lightening is not perfect. Anyway, thanks to Lt. Hornblower & Sebeus for holding the black sail behind the MOC!
  7. As Ruadh profiled itself more and more as an artists paradise, well-known in all of Historica, MAESTRO saw the opportunities to make a shop in this capital of arts. Lord Tomvaximus himself asked permission to Siedna if they may make a shop. After granted permission, the constructions started. As Stedor is famous for its armory, weaponry and goldsmithery, Lord Tomvaximus put an atelier above the shop where artists can paint the chestplates and shields. These artists are being teached by Miss Cleo, a famous paintress. When she is not teaching her students or wandering in Ruadh, she is working in the small atelier she has in Stedor. In the shop itself, a Maestro trader sells various items being made in Stedor like golden cups, golden weapons, golden windows, cloths, hats, swords, ... . The shop is located next to the other shops in Ruadh, along the wall. At this moment, it are Maestro soldiers who are guarding this part of the wall untill Ruadh will have their own guards :) => Miss Cleo with brush and herald (note, I do not own the painter of the CMF, so the brush and plate may look a bit odd :p ) For UoP, I claim: - Culture: Art - Architecture: Roofing Technic For HSS: Sarahjoy may claim for Ruadh: - Forticification: Wall - Craftsmen/speciality: Heraldry C&C ofcourse welcome :)

  9. Mpya Stedor All-Encompassing Science, Trade & Resources Organisation (MAESTRO) opened a while ago their shop (with embassy) in Thorshaven, Mitgardia. In these shops, the Mitgardian people can buy everything they (don't really) need. You always dreamed about those fancy golden windows Mpya Stedor is famous for? Now is your chance to buy them!! We even have qualified craftsmen to place them in your home! You drank too many ales last night and your wife is very angry now? Give her a golden necklace with some very shining diamonds in it! We bet she will forgive your drinking problem for the whole next month as well!! In this shop you can also buy the finest cloaks, the purest golden goblets, some extremely attractive daggers, ... .
