  1. Hi everyone, We (me and my brother) have created a landscape based on the Adventures theme from 1998 and 1999. The landscape was shown at Lego World the Netherlands 2017. The landscape contains a piramide, a temple, a lake town, a village and many vehicles. You have already seen the development of the vehicles and landscape in Various Adventurers Creations The piramide was build by my brother and it contains many rooms with traps, treasures, mummies and action. The Jungle was created by me and for the first time we added trees and more plants to make it look like a real jungle. I am glad that the water worked out fine. Someone told me that the river should be bigger compared to the ship the river is small. He had a point, but it was already expensive to purchase all the transparent pieces. For more pictures visit my Flickr album. Land of Adventure Questions and feedback are welcome. Sander
  2. A month ago, a terrible storm passed over the Prio Seas, bringing many adventurers off their intended course. But off course, they couldn't be the only ones affected. A Galleon from Carno has missed Poorvintia by a long shot, and has, after losing most of her rigging in the storm, arrived in Fuerte Unido, or well, on one of the many quais spread around the cliffs of the bay. The deep water here allows even the biggest ships to get very close the coastline. Having just heard of the arrival of a vessel a size rarely seen around Fuerte Unido, Gouverneur Monezterrell and Farrucio Paraja headed out to the site to check what was going on. The crew of the vessel, decimated by trying to save more of the rigging, were already celebrating the arrival on land - they seemed like they wanted nothing more than getting off the vessel and never ever step on one again. Once the vessel had landed, Monezterrell and Paraja quickly started talking to the Captian, who identified himself as Arii Kandoné. Captain Kandoné shared the thought of his crew and only wanted to get rid of the vessel - probably not only because he was sick of sailing, but also because he didn't want to be the one responsible for repairing the rigging. Noting the freshly painted hull, a compromise was quickly found... More pics of the landscape and ship: Some quick background: I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to add full rigging to this ship, I discussed with Bregir hoping to find a compromise where I save myself from the time, numbness and materials of adding rigging to a ship while still being able to license it. I hope this unlicenseable build (56x96, though half of that is water/ship) together with the hull should be enough to license the Triunfo while not rigging it up completely. As it originally started out as a 5 midsection prefab (though the lower part of those isn't there any longer), I'll license it as a class 7 as it seems comparable to the Margot in size, maybe a bit taller on the stern.
  3. The pilot dipped the cutter down out of the low clouds to get a better bearing on his surroundings. Scanners weren't picking up very much tech in the area, though their records showed that their destination was close. This would require old-fashioned visual guidance. Below them a partially frozen river wound through the narrow valley, alongside an ancient dirt road that had been carved out of the rocky mountainsides. It shouldn't be too much further now he figured as he angled the craft towards a gap in the mountains. Still, he wondered if this guy was really worth all this effort. I've been sitting on this for a long time, just haven't had a chance to photograph it until recently. C&C welcome on this, my first (posted) build for AG.
  4. I love Tyrannosaurus Rex! That's what drew me to this 3in1 Creator set, my first ever. I picked up two more sets to make it fun. A little background about me, this is my first attempt at custom building of almost any sorts. I'm more of a set builder and then buy another set to compliment it. As such I completed this landscape with a very limited selection of loose bricks to choose from and even had to buy the base plate. I may eventually buy some bricks specifically to improve the landscape and grow and practice my technique. I still have a lot to learn but hope you like!
  5. This Elven Village for the LEGO Elves was designed months before I watched the Netflix's Elves series, therefore the cottages don't resemble the real Elvendale. What I had in mind was a MOC to use all the amazing (and bright) colors which were introduced in the Elves and Friends themes. I reused the background from my previous Elves MOC, the Dragon Mountain, but added more detail to the rocks. The land was extended to 96 x 96 studs. I enjoyed building the landscape as there was no limit in making it realistic. This Elven Village was displayed at 19th Kocke Fest (Slovenian LUG exhibition) in October 2017. This is what the village from air looks like - a bridsdragon eye. I added more rocks to the mountain (I actually ran out of slopes when building the Dragon Mountain). This MOC came to life mostly because of the bright colored cottages, and from this perspective it looks very colorful. I planned more buildings in other colours as well, but it felt crowded as it is. The first house I built was the pink one. As I wanted colorful houses with different floor plan, I decided to use rocks as the focal point of the ''Elven architecture'' as fireplace. This way, the houses have at least one similarity. The landscaping was my favourite part. TLG released many interesting parts which could be used as plants or plant parts, and I tried to use them to create a more vibrant and exotic flora. Also, the flowers' colors follow the aura of the cottage's resident. Around the bright light yellow house I used all the different flower molds I had at home, from the classic flower to 1x1 round plates and special ''Friends'' flowers. I only wish TLG would make those in other colors, too. Another challenge was to use some of the odd parts in my collection. For example, I built the bright light yellow cottage on a modified brick 8x16, I used the dark azure eggs, reddish brown horns. I've been sorting my collection intensively in the last months, and I was able to see just how many odd parts I have that were never used in a MOC. So here's another reason why sorting can be helpful. As always, more (and larger) pictures can be found on my Flickr.
  6. Hello all, A week ago our LUG had a big group layout displayed at LEGOWorld 2017. The layout was a collaboration of @aawsum, @alois, Moos and me. PS. mods, is there any way this can be posted in the Train forum too? I don't want to crosspost but I think this concerns both topics equally.

    Solitary Existence

This secluded shrine is one of many in a large monastery complex nestled into the Heavenly Mountains of Mitgardia. Also, if you didn't already see my post in the New Member Guide, this model is part of a giveaway. You can see the full details and more pictures of the model here. Comments and criticism welcome

    Windmill Heist

After all my castle builds for the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics, I decided to take a little break from the theme and do a little more with some good old Pirates. The windmill was quite fun to make, especially the windows. Pirates need food too, so when they spotted a small windmill located near the coast, a few were sent to loot it for flour. However, one of the imperial soldiers stationed in the nearby village caught sight of the thieves, and proceeded to chase them back from whence they came. Albeit, somewhat more heavily loaded with the bags of grain they had pilfered. More pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    Amon Hen

My entry for Round 3 of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages. My category this time was Amon Hen. My opponent’s homepage. I really enjoyed this build, and it was fun to do a decent sized landscape again. I was a little apprehensive about having to build so many trees, but they ended up going quite quickly. In total the build took 8 days to complete. A huge thank-you to Graham and Michael for all their support and critiques along the way, I know it wouldn’t have turned out as well without them! Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    PM2X Explorer

My first entry for the Color It Blacktron Contest over on Flickr. The idea is to make any build you want, whether that be in Castle, Pirates, Space, Town, etc. but build it using Blacktron colors. This was quite enjoyable to make, and started with the cockpit, when I realized the tracks would hold them together pretty well. It took a little patience to get the driver/controls in, but I like how it turned out. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    Big old LEGO trees

My first attemt at building big old LEGO trees. I plan on using them in a Medieval layout in May 2017 and subsequently in a Town/Landscape layout.
  12. My entry for round 1 of The Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages. The category was to create a build based on one of J.R.R Tolkien’s poems or songs. Here is the one I chose: Farewell we call to hearth and hall! Though wind may blow and rain may fall, We must away ere break of day Far over wood and mountain tall. To Rivendell, where Elves yet dwell In glades beneath the misty fell, Through moor and waste we ride in haste, And whither then we cannot tell. With foes ahead, behind us dread, Beneath the sky shall be our bed, Until at last our toil be passed, Our journey done, our errand sped. We must away! We must away! We ride before the break of day! I tried to portray the 3 main themes of the song: hearth and home, travel through the wild, and Rivendell. More pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  13. This build splits apart into 4 modules, each of which is a prize in the Castle Collaboration category of this year's Summer Joust. Faerdham is a large fortress housing a whole town inside its massive walls. More pictures available on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking
  14. After fulfilling his contracted task on the enchanted forests of the west region, Adam and Terryn started their return trip to Albion. They’ve been riding for 3 days and are now on BlueWater Castle region. The castle and the surrounding lands belongs to Sir Bridger and his beautiful daughter, Lady Melissa. Adam, but specially Terryn, are tired and in need for a resting place. Maybe Sir Bridger would welcome them on his castle to spend the night? Perhaps they could even get a chance to meet Lady Melissa and her legendary beauty… Hey guys, I was going to post these MOC on History Forum, but I thought it would fit well on the West Region of avalonia, my current Guild as it is home to mighty stone castles. Also, can I somehow put the castle on Avalonian map? Is that possible? I consider myself a castle builder, but I have never build a castle in the real sense of the word, so I thought it was about time I build one. As I’m working on a big display to my LUGs expositions (Comunidade 0937) and having access to a lot more parts I could go a little wild. :) This MOC stands on a footprint of 4x3 (48x48) baseplates and is more than 3 feet high. I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do since the beginning, but of course some modifications and adjustments were made along the build, such as the positioning of the various towers on the main walls or the shape of the half-timbered sections. A few facts and thoughts that I would like to share: - Its viewable from the 4 sides and completely modular so it can easily be transported. - Despite having access to more parts, I still had some limitations. So, for instance, I had to use more LBG 1x2 plates and 1x2 masonry dark tan bricks on the walls that I wanted but nevertheless I think it turned out Ok all the same. - The colors used on the landscape terrain are not the ones that I would like to use, but again, due to its size, I had to use more common ones. - I build this at home and took me about 250 hours in 50 or so days to build this MOC. - I have no idea how many parts it’s made off! If someone as a rough idea, please let me now. But I can tell you that just on the landscape alone and on the castle interiors I used around 10000 2x4 bricks of various colors and on the walls I used at least 4000 round 1x1 bricks. - The landscape was not my priority as it will sure suffer some changes and adding’s when integrated on the full display so I spend just 5 days on it and is not yet as I want him to look. - Also, the trees are somewhat simple as I need them to be brickbuild (for easier transportation and also due to time restrictions) but I kind like them that way. - Naturally, I’m a BIG noob in taking good pics and these are total crap (overexposed, poor lighting, poor focus). Taking reasonable ones was a huge #$#/&%$ pain and in my opinion it looks so much better in person :) Hope you all like it. It sure was an immense fun to build these one :) I will try to upload more pics in a few days before I get this huge thing in card boxes :) BlueWater Castle BlueWater Castle BlueWater Castle
  15. For the last KockeFest exhibition, I really wanted to try something new and not just bring along modulars buildings. I had fun building this diorama, although I admit the initial plan was much bigger than this. But then I ran out of bricks and space, and left it like this at 48x96 studs size. However, there's still a chance of continueing this MOC further as planned. I got the two Elves' sets with the dragons mostly for the parts, but then I really enjoyed playing with the dragons (thanks to my 2-year old son), that I saw a bigger potential. That's when the idea started forming, and the MOC was slowly shaping. In addition, I wanted to try different approaches building the vegetation and water features. This was my first attempt at building a waterfall, and I'm ok with this version, although it was challenging mostly because a lot of my bricks is currently unsorted, and finding the right parts (knowing I have them) was taking a lot of extra time. I recently got some trans-clear Technic bricks, and I thought of using them as support for a flying dragon, that's why I set the green dragon up in the air flying above the forrest. Another challenge of this MOC was taking pictures. Since it takes up the width of my kitchen table, it was not easy to set up a white background (the wall) and get the right light from the window on one side. I want to expand this to include also an Elven village, and perhaps add more dragons, and improve the display further, so any comments are welcome.

    Hardwin's Smithy

A fun build for the ABC’s of Castle, over on Classic-Castle. The idea is to pick a castle word that starts with any letter, build it and then post it (in alphabetical order). For my first contribution, I did the letter ‘B’, which stands for blacksmith. The blacksmith shop lifts off the base for easy play-ability, and features a full interior, as well as hinging walls for easy access. Inspiration for the wall texturing goes to Rod Gillies. Hardwin the smithy is always kept busy at his work, with all the local farmers coming to him for their tools and when their horses need shoeing. He's also known for his fine armor and weapons that he makes when not occupied with other tasks. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    [MOC] Realm of the Shrooms

My ninth build for ABS Builder Challenge. This was another really fun build which I’m quite pleased with. The mushrooms themselves came together pretty quickly, and after that it was just a matter of making the surrounding landscape for them in which I was able to utilize a few of our Duplo foliage elements. Inspiration for the base goes to Legopard. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  18. I mainly wanted to experiment with dark orange as a predominant landscape color for this build, and I think it turned out nicely. Credit for the tree design goes to Joeri Ridder. The mill does work, in that the oxen can be ‘driven’ around easily and the mill stone is driven in turn by them. Ox driven mills are one of the simplest mills, yet still quite effective. Most towns and villages in Mitgardia have at least one of these mills. "More barley to be ground, Ailin?" "Yep, will be one of the last trips for me though. Nearly finished with my harvest." More pics on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking
  19. My phase 2 windmill, this is another build influenced by Skyrim, the windmill is based off of the typical windmills seen in game. I also tried to replicate the tundra look that is common in many regions of Skyrim. This was also my entry to the 2017 Brickstory contest, for the Early Middle Age category. The model features working windmill blades and grindstone, both simultaneously operated by a crank on the back of the windmill. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Glorfindel and Dedan visit the windmill in Holt to speak with Jarl Arfast. "Welcome, Sir Glorfindel! I'm glad you were willing to meet me here, harvest time sees me at the windmill more often than my hall." "Greetings Jarl, it's nice to have a meeting outside for once. This is my friend, Dedan the hunter." "Good day, hunter Dedan," replied Arfast, "I imagine you two have come with warnings of the conflict in Nocturnus? I can assure you all our warriors have been keeping a watchful eye on our borders and will continue to do so. Though our numbers are limited after the Algus war," he continued sadly. "Yes, that conflict has weakened our forces considerably. I may have some encouraging news though, as I've recently returned from Valholl, and some of the centrally located towns and villages have agreed to send some of their own troops to help reinforce our borders. The troops will be allotted to various villages who are deemed to have special need. And the soldiers will be placed directly under the jarls and lords command." "That is good news! Particularly during this season when our men are so busy preparing for the coming winter months. Thank you Glorfindel." "You are most welcome, Mitgardia must stand together to survive. Now Dedan and I must be off to Firoir on a pressing matter. So good day, Jarl." Check out more pictures here. C&C welcome
  20. Built for category A of Challenge V, for the Alliance side. The path design was inspired by Thorsten Bonsch’s Orsinium. It was fun experimenting with the path here, albeit time consuming. A messenger gallops through the lands of Kaliphlin, spreading the word of the return of the true king of Historica! Perhaps 'gallops' is a poor choice of words though, as the camel seems content with a slow walk, much to the messenger's distress. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  21. High in the mountains sits a small temple above a serene lake. Disturbed only by the sound of the falls, the mountain is home to a peaceful tribe of monks. This is a very large piece that I've worked on for several months now. See the flickr for more information: https://www.flickr.com/photos/nxtquy/31952169970/ Other side and overview shots:
  22. My 6th entry for the Colossal Castle Contest, this time in the Archery Tournament category. I enjoyed getting to use our sand green plates for the landscape. The annual horseback archery tournament in Avalonia is always a popular competition. Since Avalonian archery is generally more focused on long bow use, its usually a close contest between the four guilds.Spectator stands are placed around the range, while wooden stakes mark how close archers are allowed to get to targets. More pictures, here. Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions welcome
  23. Location: G03, New California Tags: Vehicle, Piracy, Land Vehicle, Military Job: Driver Start Log: My last mission let me use a sweet new mobile missile platform, the LR3. Not only does it carry a payload of three missiles, it also has a cab that serves as an escape hover craft. The designated target this time was an Octan sensory outpost. Job done. Skogrbani's Lair

This is an entry into the Woodland Hideaway category of the Colossal Castle Contest, and the dragon is also an entry into the second Dragon Building Contest. The landscape design was inspired by Brother Steven’s Friosaelt Falls build. The dragon Skogrbani’s lair is hidden deep in the forest. Two unfortunately ignorant thieves thought it was a good idea to hide their loot by burying it in the woods just outside Skogrbani’s home… See more pictures on brickbuilt.
