    MOC: Olivander - Pirate Style

[pid][/pid] 251A Ahoy, I've been working on something recently that has been neglected for quite a while but might come to (new) life now: a pirate house (I think of turning it into a gun shop). As you can see, this is based on the TLG model of Olivander's shop. I was quite fond of building the Diagon Alley set but - a bit to my surprise - my kids could not have cared less about that set. Nobody in out home has ever spent a single second playing with the three buildings (or at least with one of them). (... but they do play with Hogwarts, etc.) Still the design was fascinating, well done. So I figured it must be about the colour scheme. I kept the roof "as is" and added that standard pirate/red coat building colour scheme. And this will soon find a place in the harbour scene that I am working on. (Next post will be a ship again)

    MOC: Family home and family

I have been at it again - the children asked me to create something that resembles us but cooler... as if that would be possible! Anyway, here are some images... thoughts and comments as ever are welcomed. Home sweet home Back garden and the family Kitchen with some pizza - yum! Attic bedroom Dad with the tablet and the dog...
  3. Hello Eurobrickers, I would like to present to you my entry for the Contest: Free Build. I have entered it in the entry topic, this one is just for C+C enjoy! It is a 32 x 48 modular building as my dream house would be to live in a LEGO city, much like Emmet... But this house could also exist in the real world. I chose a modular because I like living in the city, although I enjoy living in a house at the moment, I think I would enjoy living in a more populated area with lots of buildings around. Anyway, enough chatter, here's some pictures. (Please excuse some pictures are rendered and some are not, the picture of the middle floor is taking forever) So here it is! There are only a handful of bricks that are either really expensive on Bricklink or that aren't made, but they are easily replaced with a similar colour should I ever have the money to brick build it. I have also taken a couple of short cuts with the floors but i was just being lazy, they would just need a bit of reinforcement and maybe a few different size plates to make in real bricks. Features here are the verandah on the bottom floor to sit on and watch the world pass by and the balcony on the top floor for a similar purpose from a bird's eye view. And the back, featuring a back garden for my cats (you may notice lots of cats, I love cats and my dream home would involve lots of them), a small swimming pool and a nice tree to take shade under for outdoor dining. Left: This is the kitchen, plenty of bench space and a very big fridge, I like food although you have to be careful when using the top right hob, sometimes the curtain catches on fire Right: This is the living room with a cosy fireplace and two large comfy couches. Here is the best part of the house, the whole middle floor is a dedicated LEGO room. As you can see, there is a large train/city layout. I have tried to include as many sets as possible including three train sets, 4 creator houses, 5 modulars, and many more classic sets which may be harder to figure out but anyway, you get the idea There is also a building table next to the chimney, this has a lamp of course as well draws containing all the spare parts and it seems my minifig self is working on a purple modular which is seen in The LEGO Movie. Also there is a table tennis table, but I stole its design from the Fire Brigade modular, I just really like table tennis! And finally, this is the top floor, which contains the bedroom and bathroom (out of picture on the bottom left) and the TV room with another cosy fireplace and a couple of bean bags to sink into and watch my fav shows Also this is the floor from which the balcony is accessible. There's a photo of the bed and bathroom on my flickr account, as well as non-rendered versions of everything. LXF File: available on the entry topic! Anyway, I hope you like it and good luck to all contest entries, I really enjoyed building this and now I have a blue print for my dream home Cheers, Tim.

    Horse Show Layout MOC

My daughter and I are building a Horse Show layout, featuring many of the Lego Friends horse-related sets from the last few years. We've been documenting it on our YouTube channel. I thought you might like to see the main house from our latest video update. Full details of both the inside and outside are in the video. Thanks for reading the post. We are very keen to get people's opinion and comments on the building and layout. So any comments on this forum or on YouTube would be welcomed. Thanks, Mike

    Daydelon Manor

This is my House, Phase 3 build for AoM. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: advanced SNOT [Architecture] (for the window designs), and mosaics, stained glass, or complex SNOTted floor designs [General Building (Other Techniques)] (for the SNOT floor and stained glass windows)= 2 credits This build was inspired by LL, Eklund, Sirens of Titan, and DNL. Credit for the corner pattern goes to LL. I used half stud offsets a lot in this build, and came up with some new window techniques/variations of existing window techniques. The building has a full interior as always. There are several large stone manors in Daydelon, one of the most elaborate belongs to the Hamr family. More pictures can be seen here: link All C&C welcome

EB LDD/LDraw 2014 Contest Entry: House

Greetings! Once again I present to you a LDraw MOC made in SR 3D Builder for the Free Build category of Eurobricks' just finished LDD/LDraw 2014 Contest. I didn't have time to do the roofing well or even the basement, which I originally had plans to make, but if I get around to doing them later I will post updates. One of the great things about creating digital buildings is that you don't need to destroy the old before you build the new, so you can get back to your MOC whenever you want. Anyway, here goes: This first picture is, well, pretty self-explanatory I guess. It's the main floor of the building, the only one that I've built thus far. I wanted to try something new with the walls and I had used the overlapping 2 x 2 Round Plates many times for roofing, but I thought it would be interesting to try as the wall itself. Here's the Kitchen: Living Room: Bedrooms from different angles: Finally the complete build with a slapped together roof: I had a fun time working on all the furniture, but may have taken a bit too long with it. Anyway, here is the is the SR 3D Builder file, which is also available in the corresponding topic in the LDraw forum. Hope you enjoy this build. I took care to try to make the MOC fully buildable with real LEGO pieces. I checked on Bricklink for them. Some are not very common though and I may have accidentally included one or two parts that weren't, but overall it should be buildable. By the way, in case you haven't, do check out the contest entries in the LDraw forum, some are really, really good.

    Daydelon Blacksmith

This is my phase 2 build for the House category in AoM. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: roofing (one of three) [Architecture], and manufacturing [Trade and Law]= 2 credits Surprisingly this is my first time building a medieval Blacksmith shop. It was a lot of fun and I think this is my best medieval house yet. As always there's a full interior and the door works. Every town needs a blacksmith, and Daydelon has a very good one. He's kept busy sharpening tools and swords as well as making new ones. More pictures can be seen here: link All Comments/Criticism appreciated
  9. Hello Radagast the brown? That guy with the bird poop in his face? -Exactly! ;) About one year ago Peter Jackson brought us the first Hobbit movie and i love it like the three Lord of the Ring movies. I'm especially a fan of the nice landscapes and great settings. Not at least they are phenomenal inspiration for MOCs i build and MOCs i will build. One of my favorite characters of the movie is of course Radagast. His outfit, doing and in particular his house are so strange and unique but that makes him so cool. My realization of this hut was build for the Bricking Bavaria 2013 in Munich and a i really liked the challenges this build gave me. And especially to solve them and find a solution. Like in the movie Rhosgobel is surrounded by trees, plants, a stream and several animals. The pictures couldn't catch every detail, but i hope you get a good view. ] For more and bigger pictures follow the links to flickr and MOCpages. Hope you enjoyed this little trip to middle Earth. 10. Hello all. Just thought I would share some pics of a modified "Family House" set 31012. I really liked the basic design of the house, but it was just a bit small and got lost in my city. So with some extra parts, I widened it, added another floor and added some interior details. While it's nothing amazing, I think it now stands out much better in the city. What do you think? Riverbank Cottage

Hello everyone! Here is my latest build. The riverbank cottage set in the country. The cottage is a mixture of several examples found all over the UK. I designed mine to be next to a river as opposed to the coast where many of this style cottage are to be found. This was just for scale purposes. I didn't want to build a beach/huge cliff beside it Anyway, I think this belongs in town as its not quite historic? a lot of these cottages were built in the late 1800's to early 1900's and are still in good condition to this day. I'll leave it up the Admins to decide if it needs moving! It was a chance for me to experiment with scenery, water and texture of which I enjoyed very much. All in all its taken a couple of months. The floors are removable for interior access, although due to the small sizes of the rooms, the furnishings are less interesting than my previous efforts. It's set sometime in the 50's just for a decorative era. Here are some pics; The rest can be found on my flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.co...656812@N04/sets Any comments or thoughts welcome!

    Daydelon Cottage

This is my Phase 1 build for the House category in AoM. This was a fairly simple build, I tried some new furniture designs and tried to make the house look like a common medieval cottage. Many new houses have been springing up in Daydelon, half-timber cottages with thatch roofs are common because of their low cost and quick construction. All C&C welcome

    PTC-soccerkid6/Simon_S

[pid][/pid] 246A My teammate is Simon S. (Burrli Burri). Each of us built two modules aproximately 16x16 that contain sections of an Imperial Fort. The modules can be rearranged into many different compositions and the fort has many neat features: prison cage, modular house, working cannons, hidden treasure chests, working doors, and plenty of Imperial soldiers and pirate rogues. Because each 'set' comes with 2 modules, with one set you would be able to rearrange it into 2 different patterns. But if you had both sets, you could rearrange the 4 modules into 24 different patterns, or have two separate forts! Overview of my modules: Overview of Simon's modules: You can check out more pictures here: link All C&C welcome

    [MOC] Nano Modular Buildings

Hello The Modular Buildings are one of the most popular Sets by TLC. I rebuild most of them in my own Style, a bit less than the normal: A work of mostly laying instead of building. Jonas
  17. (This was actually my entry for the Modular Madness from my Lug, but I started to late to compete. So I gave it a Medieval twist for the AoM.) After Elon and his grandsons visited the Elves it was time to go home, to Valholl. This was a relief for grandma because she thought it was way to dangerous for the boys to be outside the cities' walls. Not all the Kaddries were captured and Black Spire soldiers were also spotted. So Elon showed Albion and Elijah some parts of the city. In this part of the city he showed were his favorite author lived and the location of a tax office. He also told about the history of the buildings, they weren't always this tall.... Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Interior tan house: Basement: Unfortunately Valholl isn't free of crime. Here you see a murderer who hides bodies in his basement. By removing the small staircase he could dump the bodies. Ground floor: His wife wasn't aware of what he was doing. First floor: But in the end all criminals get caught, especially when a Chorian is a man of the law! Second floor: Bedroom Interior olive green house: Basement: Food storage Ground floor: Valholl has a rich culture and part of that are writers. First floor: A guest warming up at the fireplace. Second floor: The bedroom and access to the balcony. Interior dark tan house: Ground floor: Every citizen has to pay taxes. At one of the tax offices you are able to pay your share. There's also a special room for storage and planning of the tax transport routes. First floor: Having a drink in the livingroom. Second floor: Time for an afternoon nap!

    The Courier (Free Build)

I haven't posted anything in awhile but I've finally found time I'v had this finished moc sitting in the apartment since christmas, and finally had time to picture it It's basically just a scout of Graystar delivering a letter, so here it is This is my first attempt at a house, I think it turned out well I might use it as a template for my buildings in Graystar. It's also my first attempt at an angled build, All C&C welcome, more pics on my flickr
  20. Hello to everyone! This is my entry for the Winter Village Contest 2013. I imagined that the Christmas Market is in a park in the village and so I decided to create a tree with a small wooden house where the kids can play on the tree climbing, pulling snowballs, playing with rope swing. The vignette is complete with a traditional fountain carved into the wood of a tree, a small Christmas tree, a lamp post and Christmas lights. What better day to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Thanks to all for comments

    Kaldrfell Castle

Well here is what I've been working on for just a bit over a month: Kaldrfell Castle. I took inspiration from many different castle builders, but here are some that inspired specific sections or details in the castle: Ecclesiastes, Kayne, Eklund, peggyjdb, Buurli Burri, Andhe, and legonardo. There is a full interior in every building, and the keep lifts off and hinges open. Also every door/trapdoor, and the drawbridge and portcullis are all functional. Interior buildings inside the castle include: a smithy, servant's house, stable, and chicken coop. And I think I came up with a new archer slit design, it can be seen on all the buildings except the rounded tower. Basically you center a 1x3 arch so that it has a half stud offset on each side and the use brick modified with stud to hold tiles to fill the gaps. You could make pretty much the same windows with going to the bother of centering them, but I like the texture you get when you do. The pictures should explain the design much better than this description. Kaldrfell Castle looks out onto a small lake in the Heavenly Mountains and protects the city of Kaldrfell which is built around the lake. Lord Nordan and Lady Deonne, Glorfindel's parents, rule Kaldrfell. Here Glorfindel pays them a visit: There are tons of details so be sure to check out more pics here: link All C&C greatly appreciated

    MOC: CCCXI A Man's Work

As the sun slowly climbed over the hazy horizon, a lone rooster let out a loud crow. The small, rustic town that lay beneath the great manor was alive with people, bustling to and fro. Small, ramshackle cottages were scattered around the outskirts of the village, and farmers and serfs came one by one from their doors, headed towards the fields. A smiling farmer grasped his pitchfork and small lantern as he pushed open the wooden door of his quaint, rural home. His young son scrambled out behind him, vigorously rubbing sleep out of his eyes. All the while he beamed brightly, excited to join his father for the first time working in the fields. Behind them, within their cottage, the female members of the family worked also. The boy’s mother grasped a stiff wooden broom, sweeping up pieces of thatch from the rough wooden floor. Meanwhile, a younger girl pulled a brewing pot from the fireplace and mixing it with a large spoon. The sun rose higher as the villagers went to work. This is my entry for the CCCXI on Classic Castle, A Child’s Life Category. It’s probably pretty obvious that the style of this build was greatly inspired by Derfel Cadarn and Legonardo Davidy. I've actually been wanting to build something like this for a long time, and I'll probably try it again in the future! Soli Deo Gloria!
