  1. The LSH-05 "Jay" Light Support Helicopter, is an aircraft developed after the Cold War and improved and updated over the years, with unique features. Born from the need for a versatile helicopter that is easy to deploy, agile and fast, with limited consumption and great autonomy, the army of Plighia has invested millions of dollars to be able to build this aircraft, succeeding. The basic version has a crew of pilot and co-pilot (the latter also has the role of gunner in the case of the assault version). It can carry 4 passengers (ME version) and a payload of 3 tons. It has a speed of 300 km / h, and an action range of 450 km. It has advanced navigation systems and avionics technologies, it also has very advanced detection, tracking and reconnaissance systems. Lego LSH-05 "Jay" Light Support Helicopter by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Mission Enhanced version. This version (LSH-05ME) is capable of quickly and safely transporting a small platoon of soldiers and deploying them on any battlefield. This agile, unarmed helicopter is outfitted with outboard "benches" designed to ferry up two commandos on each side. This version is not equipped with armaments, and to defend and attack it must rely on the soldiers who are transported. Lego LSH-05 "Jay" Light Support Helicopter by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Assault version. This version (LSH-05A) was developed to meet the military needs of a light attack helicopter, which could support the military on the ground, capable of moving quickly and nimbly in all battlefields. It's equipped with 2 DURR 7.62 mm 1000 rpm heavy machine guns, flanked by 2 ARGO-9 missile pods, each with 9 slots, divided into 3 air-to-air, 3 air-to-ground, and 3 anti-tank, each.

    [MOC] Rescue in Antarctica

It’s been 92 days since I’ve landed in this godforsaken part of the world, to conduct a research that would change the future of mankind. Huh... It’s even funny now, how wrong I was to think this was such a big deal. And then, all went to hell... Staring into the vastness of the sea, the greatness of the mountains, the magnitude of these glaciers, I understand now how small we are. How nothing but specs of dust in an everchanging world we represent. Humankind... Huh... Such a vague idea, it has become. You are all so far away... And me, I’m alone, forgotten, travelling with the sea, given to the cold winds of an inhabited land. It’s like I’m part of it. Staring from the edge of the world into... nothing. I never felt so alone. Yet, strangely enough, I never felt so... alive. ... Radio static* “Central, this is Eagle 05. Please respond. Over?” “This is central coming in. Eagle 05, what is your status? Over.” “Central, I’m flying over the Volta Glacier chain, approximately 38 hours after the disaster... Uh... It’s a mess from up here. A big chunk of the rock has broken apart. I’m flying over the crack, now... Heck! It ripped right where the research facility used to be. There. You see? The crack must be about 50 kilometers... Uh... Central, please standby... What? Are you serious?... Central, there’s something on the rocks. It looks... Is that a person? Uh... We’re checking it out, please standby” “Eagle 05, please respond. Over?... Eagle 05...” “Central, this is Eagle 05. We are heading back to the station. Uh... How long ago did you say Dr. Mallorie Lynch went missing? I think... I think we found her!” ________ Louis of Nutwood. This is a re-rebuilt of the LEGO City set 7903, now performing a rescue on the sea with some minor modifications since last upload Rescue Helicopter MH-7903 . Hope you all like it. Cheers!
  3. Once again I dug up something from the 80s... and once again it's something related to a movie police character called "Murphy" - Frank Murphy this time, to be precise. But although this Lego version of the Blue Thunder helicopter is in minifig scale unfortunately for Frank I wasn't able to incorporate functional cockpit doors... sorry Frank, you're stuck in there for all eternity! I hope you like my take on the iconic Blue Thunder from the 1983 movie. If you like it and you're up for a bit of a challenge you can find the free instructions here & some more pics here. Thanks & may the Gods have mercy upon poor old trapped Frank's soul...

  6. Hi everyone, I am FranzPlus and I am looking for supporters to my projects published on lego Ideas. I would like to propose my latest work dedicated to the multi-construction experience. I accept constructive criticism. Thanks for the attention. This Creator 6 in 1 set offers spectacular performance. Download the Helicopter and motorbike to start your adventures. The front of the Helicopter separates in a Watercraft. The Main Truck has a detailed cockpit complete with bed and TV. This 6 in 1 model is rebuilt in a Road Tractor or two Racing Cars or a Seaplane or a powerful Hot Rod and finally a Motorboat. Inspired by the multi-construction of the Lego Creator Set 3 x 1, I propose six different construction alternatives with decreasing difficulty. This set consists of 653 bricks. Get carried away by the imagination and build these realistic models. Two minifigures are included 1) Helicopter Transport Truck. (653 Bricks) 2) Road Tractor (239 Bricks) 3) Racing Cars (218 Bricks) 4) Seaplane (140 Bricks) 5) Hot Rod (124 Bricks) 6) Motorboat (76 Bricks) To design this set I used LDD and Studio. Have fun and good exploration.
  7. This model was the result of a choice I had to make. I could either come up with an entry for the Eurobricks small car contest, or I could enter the TLCB Lockdown Competition. I really didn't feel inspired to make a small car, so I went with making a C model. I chose 42098, largely because of the fact that it was the only set I hadn't started to mix into my large collection. Initially, I was going to build some kind of wheeled vehicle, but then I hit a real builder's block. At that point, I was looking at the small wheel arches, and thought that it looked kind of like the bottom parts of an attack helicopter cockpit. After I realized that, I made the cockpit section, and got going from there. This helicopter is ultimately a nonesuch, and combines design elements from a number of real and fictional helicopters, including the Hellhound helicopter from Patlabor 2, and a design I found on Deviantart called the Fujin, which was designed by MeganeRid, The rotors spin, obviously, but they also have collective pitch control, which was very hard to implement given the parts available in the set. 42098 includes a shockingly small selection of gears and other technical bits, so I had to get very creative. The rotors are at their lowest position in this picture. The collective does not use a turntable, but instead uses a brick built solution that hearkens back to the very first Technic helicopter, set 852. The actual control for this function is a lever with a red bushing, on the right of the photo. This is the blades at maximum pitch, which better shows the collar that is used to simulate a swash plate. The second most major function is the complex landing gear. A 12z gear at the end of both wings controls this function, which uses worm gears to prevent the gear from collapsing. The first pic shows the gear retracted for flight, the second and third show the gear down for landing. The last set of functions relate to the gun pod, mounted under the fuselage. The pod can be traversed 90 degrees to either side, and will clear the landing gear towers. This is controlled by a 12z gear located behind the air intakes. The gun will also elevate from horizontal to almost vertical, using a knob on the back of the pod. An underbelly view, showing the gun pod, as well as part of the rotor drivetrain. The rotor is spun by the 2 12z gears on the tail. The gun pod, up close. The rubber connectors on the forward fuselage are actually a travel lock, and can hold the gun in place when not in use. Maximum elevation. Or is this depression? I can't decide how you'd define this. On the tarmac. The landing gear do work, but I also built a stand so that this heli can be posed as if in flight, with the gear retracted. Some up close pictures: This detail is actually important. As most of you have probably noticed, this helicopter has no tail rotor, and is not coaxial, so what gives? My vision is that a real version of this helicopter would use a NOTAR system, which uses a ducted fan to effectively replace a tail rotor. That's what the large vents on the tail are supposed to be for. Now, in terms of scale, this model is quite large. CamelHog the hedgehog and Spam for scale. One last beauty shot: The color scheme may not be very military, but I'd chalk that up to this being an airshow/display team livery. All in all, I am quite happy with this model, it was a real challenge to make in the limits of the parts I had, so much so was actually running out of 3L pins, but it came together nicely, and the color scheme actually worked out a lot better than I expected it to. Now, on to the contest. Stay safe out there, folks. P.S. I'll give a shout out to the first person who is able to guess where the manufacturer's name of this heli came from.
  8. My wife asked me to take apart set 40171 I gave her few years ago. When I did it I got idea to build something from it. And what is the best alternative model from any set? Helicopter! This one is even little bit special. It features opening windscreen, both rotors can freely spin and it still keeps appearence of original hedgehog - snout, thorns and four legs. So this is what you get when you crossbreed hedgehog and helicopter - Hedgecopter Building instructions are available at buildinst.cz And this is original model: Any comments are welcomed.
  9. Few years ago I built dune buggy from set 42075 (First Responder)... ...now I am back with second alternative model - Pullback Helicopter. It features opening windscreen, engine with moving piston and cool spring loaded mechanism for spinning rotors. It works similarly to pullback motor but it uses shock absorber to store energy for spinning. I took inspiration for this mechanism from Isogawa Yoshihito's book "LEGO TECHNIC Tora no Maki". I also built this model for TLCB Lock-Down Competition. Building instructions for both models are available at buildinst.cz Any comments are welcomed.
  10. I tried to build my own alternative model from set 42061 several times in past but all my attempts failed. When I was decided to sell this set I got idea to give it last try. My initial goal was to build some kind of buggy. After few hours I built working steering and in-line fake engine driven by rear wheels. Building car out of parts from set 42061 was painful (it has pretty bad assortment of parts) and I am not totally sutisfied with look of buggy so I call it "Ugly Buggy". By the way it fits to TC18 contest but I think it is too simple to submit it there. So I use it for TLCB Lock-Down Competition instead. When I finished building buggy I decided to build more - to build something easier. So helicopter was the best choice. I took little bit of inspiration from @BusterHaus - I like how he used gear rack for tail of his helicopter. My helicopter has both rotors connected by gears so you can spin them together by turning gear on bottom of helicopter. This is also my second entry to TLCB Lock-Down Competition. Building instructions for both alternative models are available at buildinst.cz Any comments are welcomed.
  11. UH-46D Sea Knight US Navy (2) by [Maks], on Flickr Good morning. After 3,5 year hiatus I would like to present my newest creation. It's good ol' Boeing Vetrol helicopter, "the smaller Chinook", CH-46 Sea Knight. Here in UH (utility version) as used by US Navy in 60s and 70s. Here you can see the exact color scheme I tried to mimic: This model was almost entirely bulit during spring of 2017. But then DA came and I was unable to find time and motivation to buy some needed parts and finish it. But here it is, the big moment for this heli! UH-46D Sea Knight US Navy (1) by [Maks], on Flickr Flickr album Brickshelf gallery Cheers! I wish you all good health.
  12. Hi everyone, I am currently building a tower for a collabration with other members of LowLUG for Bricks am Meer. The first build, that is finished, is the remake of the Helicopter set from 2001. Feedback and questions are appreciated anytime.
  13. It's been a busy month here in thirdwiggville. This time a little Helicopter MOC based on the Sikorsky S62 helicopter with additional turbines, and a Fenestron tail. Full gallery on Flickr. Features: main rotor connected tail rotor landing gear winch sliding doors folding main rotor Much more at thirdwigg.com.
  14. This is a LEGO Transformer robot which is able to change into Mini Combat Robot and Combat Helicopter. I spent much more time than the others to make the stop motion animation in this video. I wanted to take a scene of flying helicopter and I tried it actually. But I failed to many times and I had to give up. :( Anyway, my favorite part of this video is the rolling and transforming scene. Don't miss it!
  15. Hi everyone, It might be a bit late to start a topic for the TC15 contest, but all my Lego time went up during the last few weeks to finish another moc. I decided to start building this specific helicopter, beceause nobody has built this specific version in technic before and I quite love this one. I am aiming for a compact replica of this helicopter with some basic features using powerfunctions and without the use of specific swashplate parts: -Controlled main rotor and tail rotor by one M motor -Controlled rotor blades (collective) by one M motor using a mini linear actuator -The use of clutch gears for a safe build -All powerfunctions shall be opperated via smartphone This is where I want to start with and more manual functions can eventually be added later. Here are some pictures of the wip (sorry for the poor quality) Let me know what you think!
  16. Let me introduce you what I was working on last week - it is going to be helicopter loosely inspired by Bell 47. I call it Nighthawk because it is also my tribute to set 8412 that I got when I was child. I will feature: crank for spinning both rotors fake six-cylinder flat engine with moving pistons lever in cockpit for tilting main rotor (this is not realistic function but it is reproduction of functionality of set 8412) Since I build almost exclusively alternative models this helicopter is no exception. I only use parts from rally car 42077. And now some pictures of my progress: Initial proof of concept to ensure that I have enough gears Prototype of cab with seat and lever The first assembly of whole helicopter (before I took it apart for structural upgrades)

    [MOC] 3 Seater Helicopter

Hi there! I bought my daughter set 60100, but the helicopter was obviously too small. Here's a revision for 3 valiant postmen:
  18. I started working on this model many weeks ago in Lego Digital Designer first. The whole concept started with the quarter circles from BWE, which are able to perfectly accomodate the small rotors. I was heavily inspired by the (movie) Avatar's rendition of helicopters. After a lot of tinkering in LDD, it was time to start building in real life: It was here I discovered I made a big mistake. The control stick located in the cab used to tilt the rotors was reversed! I had to go back to the drawing board and correct the control mechanism. Few days, fixes and improvements later, this is what the final model looks like: I wanted the colors to randomly switch from yellow to make it look more eye-striking. Where possible I used black 2L pins instead of the blue ones. As stated in the topic name, this is a motorized model, powered by the small LiPo battery box which is hidden in the tail, next to a single M motor: The single M motor powers a total of 3 functions: - Drive rotors (always engaged, spinning in one direction only) - Opening cargo doors and rear ramp (powered by a gearbox) - Working winch (powered by a gearbox) You can see the driveline of all the motorized functions here: The red mechanism at closest to the M motor makes sure rotors are spinning in one direction only, irrelevant of which direction M motor spins. This way changing direction of the gearbox does not change in which direction rotors spin. Gearboy in front switches between openining doors+ramp and a winch. The doors and ramp are actuated by a single actuator located right behind the cockpit: The rear of the cargo doors is connected to the ramp via bewel gears, so both open at once: I also bult a small container which can be easily lifted by the motorized winch: The container can easily fit inside the cargo bay area: You can see the finished model's video below:
  19. Hello everyone. I am a newbie here and this is my first LEGO post ever! I am very excited. I am a big Lego Technic aircraft fan so when I see TC15, i jump to the opportunity. I am trying to make a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk and I hope you like my progress so far. It started in early 2017 as a modification project to expend Lego helicopter set 9396 dimensions. I wanted to sit two Lego Technic minifigures comfortably inside the helicopter cockpit and to make the 9696 mail rotor assembly look less bulky and exaggerated in relation to the helicopter fuselage. The project sat on the shelf without much progress for over a year. Mockup One 2018.10.20 by Chia En Lin, 於 Flickr The 9396 MOD project somehow evolved and morphed into a UH-60 Black Hawk look-a-like project. This is the photo of UH-60 mockup build. Mockup Two 2018.10.30. by Chia En Lin, 於 Flickr I am about 75% completed with this project (i hope). This is what i have so far: PF motor and battery box mounted and working. Collective and cyclic pitch control for the main rotor is working and reasonably stable. Tilted tail rotor is working but not satisfactory. Tail stabilizer is not working, or rather have not been worked on yet. I apologize for the poor quality photos. I will take some proper photos when i have time. DSC_0039 by Chia En Lin, 於 Flickr I see jwarner is also working on a S-70. jwarner's gear box is awesome! My collective and cyclic pitch control is nowhere near jwarner's design. jwarner keep it up, we all look forward to seeing you completing your S-70. Cheers.
  20. It seems about time for me to get into the TC15 spirit. I've been building up a storm in my dorm room every chance I've had when I haven't been studying, and it seems about time I share my progress. I noticed that there are notably few helicopters so far, I think just steph's Chinook and Eric's Skycrane. So I decided to join the fray, and I'm going big on this one, the Sikorsky S-70C Firehawk, the cousin of the military Blackhawk. Unlike the blackhawk though, this one comes in pretty colors: Sikorsky S-70C - N2FH FireHawk by Christopher Ebdon, on Flickr I want my model to focus on playability, so I plan on making the swashplate RC controlled with PF. I also wanted to use as few motors as possible, so here's what I'm planning: 1 L motor - rotor blade rotation 1 M motor (or L motor if needed) - swashplate control 1 Servo motor - switch between collective, left/right cyclic and forward/backward cyclic So few motors means that the gearbox is naturally a beast, so it will likely be taking up the entire rear of the helicopter. Waiting on a few more parts to arrive before I share what I've concocted on that front. In the meantime, here's what I've been working on: Sikorsky S70-C Firehawk - WIP by jwarner1718, on Flickr I apologize ahead of time for the wild colors and stickers, my selection of panels is pretty slim so I'll be playing 'rainbow warrior' for a while until I have most of the design down. Easier to order everything at once right? Sikorsky S70-C Firehwak - WIP by jwarner1718, on Flickr Both cyclic sticks are synchronized using a few linkages. They will not be linked up to the swashplate movement, something I had debated for a long time, but decided that with the route I had taken with the gearbox it just wasn't feasible to fit it in. I guess this makes a fair consolation prize though. Sikorsky S-70C Firehawk - WIP by jwarner1718, on Flickr The battery box sits behind the pilot seats, and the fake collective lever acts as a pin that can be removed to slide it out. I'm really excited for this contest, hoping to finish in time and that I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. If I don't make it before the contest though I'm definitely finishing this one. Cheers, Jonathan
  21. REVIEW - 42092 - RESCUE HELICOPTER INTRODUCTION It feels like yesterday that TLG released a small rescue helicopter, but actually it dates back quite a few years. I'm talking about the 8068 - Rescue Helicopter released in 2011, packing 408 parts. In the 2010, one year earlier, TLG released an even smaller (152 parts) helicopter. The 8046 - Helicopter, which is clearly a rescue helicopter as well. With 325 pieces, the latest rendition lives somewhere between the 2010 and the 2011 version. Let's take off for the review. PICTURES Pictures can be clicked to view hi-res versions. More pictures can be found in my Flickr album. DISCLAIMER This set has been provided by the CEE Team of TLG. It's not my goal to promote this set. It's my goal to give you an honest opinion about it. Therefore, the opinion in this review is my own and is in no way linked to TLG. SET INFORMATION Number: 42092 Title: Rescue Helicopter Theme: Technic Released: 2019 Part Count: 325 Box Weight: 451 gram Box Dimensions: 28,0 cm x 26,0 cm x 5,8 cm Set Price (RRP): € 29,99 Price per Part: € 0,092 Links: Brickset, Bricklink THE BOX CONTENTS OF THE BOX The box contains: 1x Instruction booklet 1x Sticker sheet 4x Unnumbered bag BOOKLET STICKER SHEET BAGS HIGHLIGHTED PARTS The white Axle and Pin Connector looks new, but it has already been released last year. The white 7 x 3 Panel is new this year though. PART LIST The part list for all the 325 parts. COMPLETED MODEL The completed model captures the shape of a real helicopter very well. I was surprised by this. The landing gear has some white details, where you would expect black ones. I suspect this is because these parts are already being used in other sets in white this year. And they are being used in white in the tail of the helicopter as well. TLG tries to limit the number of different colors per set, and over the entire Technic range for a specific release period (e.g. 1H 2019). We have seen this strategy before. It probably has something to do with warehousing logistics and obviously optimising profit. When I get the chance, I will ask one of the designers/employees. The rear section opens up, but unfortunately the life-bed can't be stowed on the helicopter. This is minor gripe for me. Maybe TLG could have designed a different bed, which would fit in the rear. It feels kinda mandatory to be able to store the bed. The usual left-over parts. B-MODEL The B-model looks like something well worth building. It's a Concept Plane with moveable wings. SUMMARY I wasn't expecting much of this set, but it looks really nice for such a small helicopter. It has some playability and the opening rear doors are a cool addition. When I noticed the doors could open, I expected to be able to stow the life-bed (stretcher). Unfortunately this is not the case. It comes with a B-model which is interesting enough to build. It even has a cool feature (moveable wings). PROS Looks great Opening rear doors Winch Cool B-model Affordable CONS Life-bed doesn't fit the rear section of the helicopter Usage of obvious out-of-place (white) parts on the landing gear SCORE How do I rate this set? 8 DESIGN It captures the shape and looks of a helicopter really well. 7 BUILDING EXPERIENCE Fun to build, but nothing really special. 7 FEATURES The opening rear doors and winch are cool extra's. 7 PLAYABILITY It has swooshability, but the life bed doesn't fit the helicopter. 7 PARTS Mostly common parts and panels. 8 VALUE FOR MONEY The B-model looks interesting enough to build as well. 7,3 FUN ENOUGH TO KEEP THE KIDS BUSY FOR A WHILE FINAL WORDS Thanks you for reading this review. All pictures can be found here.
  22. I would like to introduce you alternative model built out of little set 42045 - helicopter. This set contains just 180 pieces so building alternative model from them was pretty difficult and challenging. My helicopter has even few functions - it features two-cylinder fake engine and if you turn gear under tail rotor, pistons in engine will move and main rotor blade will spin. If you want to build it you can download building instructions from my website buildinst.cz
  23. Hi everyone! I would like to show you my C model of 42069. It's a helicopter with many features. I'll make more photos as soon as possible and put them on Flickr. https://www.facebook.com/groups/LEGO.Technic/permalink/1941079909297366/ - On this link is a video showing how features work. Hope you enjoy it! I will try to mke instructions soon EDIT: Video of functions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJK0dIs16KM&feature=youtu.be
  24. It's a light helicopters used for special operations. This helicopter is based on American MH-6 Little Bird, this version it's armed with 2 M134 Minigun, plus 2 LAU-68D/A 7-tubes rocket pods firing 2.75 in (70 mm) Hydra 70 rocket projectiles, with the possibility of mount 2 AGM-114 Hellfire.
